She then restored democracy, only to be thrashed in the following elections (she was only the second prime minister in history to lose her own constituency). But Foot's closeness to the unwavering democrat Nehru blinded him to the faults of Nehru's daughter. I can remember reading lengthy New Statesman articles by the guy even when he was Opposition leader. I'm aware he was also writing whole books (biographys) while shadow boxing with Maggie. Goes to show what a different place the old Dart is eh? Unless the mad Monk is furiously scribling a manuscript while Outback. A gentleman and ..and a busy one.
