The Gillard government turned an Australia Day speech into a debacle.

Don’t be too harsh after all when they didn’t steal it they came up with “we are us“.
The ALP should stick to stealing and let Thommo run the show because he knows how to run a good show.

You’d think that an address by a senior minister at the press club the day before chop day might reveal some matters of gravity. But no, Albo used it to have a typically clumsy crack at Abbot. And fucked it up. Meanwhile herself is across the flat venerating another fucking celebrity.

I come to hang shit on Abbott, not to praise him.
The evil (for example Work Choices) that men do lives after them
The good is oft interred with their bones (except in this case because Abbott doesn’t do anything except say no)
So let it be with Abbott (because after all, everything is his fault.)

I will be a little saddened when this crop of incompetent buffoons are consigned to the dustbin of history at the next election.
I haven’t enjoyed myself so much by poking fun at these witless drones for years. Politics since Kevin 07 has been an endless round of mirth, leavened by disbelief at their antics.
Just when you think they have managed to hit rock bottom, they manage to descend a few more metres into the mire.

Pedro, remember that your enjoyment has come at a great price.
The only thing I will truly enjoy is watching the concession speech of whatever poor sucker happens to be Labor Prime Minister come the election (this said to cover my bases in case, for some weird reason, it is neither Gillard nor Rudd).

Fleeced
26 Jan 12 at 11:45 am
Wait a minute, Fleeced.
The Wikileaks cables also revealed a number of Australian political power-brokers were US informers. Prominent union leader Paul Howes and Federal Senator Mark Aribib were both named in the cables as “protected” informants. Both were instrumental in elevating the current Prime Minister to office in 2009 in what many commentators described as a “bloodless coup.”
Does this really mean what I think it means? That the Obama administration interfered to have sacked Australia’s PM, and put in a Communist one?
