  2. Jarrah -
Are you going to post that link on every thread? Nobody is interested in your leftard crap.

  3. More Mother Jones/Jimmy Carter Jnr video:

Mitt Romney on Obama’s Foreign Policy

“The president’s foreign policy, in my opinion, is formed in part by a perception he has that his magnetism, and his charm, and his persuasiveness is so compelling that he can sit down with people like Putin and Chávez and Ahmadinejad, and that they’ll find that we’re such wonderful people that they’ll go on with us, and they’ll stop doing bad things. And it’s an extraordinarily naïve perception.”

    A Classic!

I think the Romney campaign should be donating to Mother Jones and Jimmy Carter Jnr because they do for free what the campaign pays good money for in ads.

  5. You don’t think Romney’s plan will be too little, too late?

(I’d rather have him in power when that fire overtakes them, I’m just questioning whether he’ll avert the firestorm.)

  6. So why does his plant increase the debt?

Nice work Jarrah. There is nothing worse than having a plan to work to address the problem, eh?

Better parrot the words of the lefty media who support the team that uses every negative poltical tactic to avoid discussing the problem.

April 29 will mark three years since Senate Democrats passed a budget. This dereliction of duty flagrantly violates the 1974 Congressional Budget and Impoundment Control Act

  7. “Nobody is interested in your leftard crap.”

You think maths is “leftard crap”? LOL

And it’s a pity you’re not interested. Anyone who wants the US to reduce its debt should be very concerned that the Republican challenger – who should be on the side of logic in this matter – is going to make things worse.

“There is nothing worse than having a plan to work to address the problem, eh?”

Except the plan doesn’t address the problem. The only candidate for president with a plan to address the problem is Gary Johnson.

  8. Romney’s plan will clearly reduce the debt. The problem is whether he can get it implemented.

And this ad doesn’t work for me at all. The average punter doesn’t know what $16 trillion in debt actually means to them. Romney (and Abbott here) has to put things into personal perspective…”President Obama’s debt means that each of you now owes $15,000. It means that you’ll have to put off buying a house because it’s harder to save. It means you’ll have to keep that old car going for longer. It means ladies will have to wear last year’s fashion.”

That last one really is a killer.

  9. I see what the chart is projecting Jarrah.

Does it include any Laffer effect in the tax revenue as I don’t see it in the assumptions?

Does it include the real cost of Obama care (you know all the costs they are discovering which were designed to kick in from 2013?

  10. You don’t think Romney’s plan will be too little, too late?

If they don’t get many sustained years of 5%+ growth rates and actually really bring back Federal government spending to less than 20% of GDP they’re gone.

So the odds are against them.

But if Romney has a Tea Party dominated Senate and House GOP majorities it’s at least possible.

Will he get a clear mandate?

I think he will but that fool Akins in Missouri is not helping.

  11. “Does it include any Laffer effect in the tax revenue as I don’t see it in the assumptions?”

The Laffer curve predicts revenue gains from tax decreases at certain points, not in all circumstances.

  12. But if Romney has a Tea Party dominated Senate and House GOP majorities it’s at least possible.

That is what is also missed in the Gary Johnson for President plan. The president needs a unified cadre in the House to push through the reform.

The Tea Party members of congress have been true to the commitment to address the fiscal issues. They have unity based upon believes built upon an ethical framework which will be necessary to address the emotional assault which will come from the hucksters of the welfare lobby (including the Democrats).

Finally, Romney had a record in Massachusetts of getting deals done (not perfect) to achieve important fiscal reform.

  13. Correction, from the little I have read, Gary Johnson did something similar in New Mexico.

The problem is that as a Libertarian he will not get elected president and as JamesK has noted, is most likely to act like Ralph Nader in ’00 to steal votes from Romney in key states.

  14. Johnson is a dick. He ran as a GOP’er couldn’t make any headway in the primary and then decided act as a spoiler by pissing inside the tent rather than out.

I like his policies etc and I also like him, but not what he’s done.

Great work Gary. Get 3% of the vote and help elect the Kenyan. That’s the spirit. I hope your dog gets run over.

  17. “they will see inflation in the future and so will try to get rid of dollars today — driving up the prices of goods, services, and eventually wages across the entire economy.”

    Indeed, but not exactly.
China being the source of US mens shirts will compete on price ie. labour costs, down to near zero (yes, an exaggeration).
What retail buys are there for the US consumer wanting to “get rid of dollars”?
Another three plasma tvs, another two quad bikes?

The consumer led recovery has long since been consigned to wishful thinking by saturated retail satisfaction. Perhaps it’s gonna be new demand from illegal immigrants fallen on good times.
    So much for goods.
How do non medical service prices explode with 47 million Americans on food stamps? Hollywood plastic surgeons perhaps.
QE 123 have had zero inflation effect, why would 3.5?

They’ll get rid of US$s sure…. but not by buying future price inflated consumables….but for gold.

    Got you some?

  18. I note that the ABC is still intent on running the gaffe line, when what Romney says is just honest.
I also note that the ABC ran an Obama ad as part of their 7pm TV news tonight, but I can’t recall them doing the same for Romney’s ads any time. Unless they can find a “gaffe”, eh?

  19. Romney’s plan will clearly reduce the debt.

    Jack
But even Romney claims it will only do that in 30 or so years assuming 4% economic growth etc (the growth is likely though as the printing presses are running hot). Sounds as clear as mud to me. Maybe you are thinking of it possibly reducing debt as a percentage of GDP not a real reduction.

President Obama’s debt means that each of you now owes $15,000

On top of the approximately $40 000 you owed before and not counting the extra debt that Romney says he will create.

Sounds like voting reform is in order. In many developing nations they have a run off if no one gets 50% (expensive but works) or could just have preferential voting like Aus.
