In his latest mad tirade, Bob Katter claims that Campbell Newman is a “little man” by sacking Queensland public servants. I guess this shows what we always knew – Katter is a big-S socialist strongly favouring a large bureaucracy (which grew substantially under the Bligh government).
Katter then notes his Napoleon tie
I’m wearing a Napoleon tie here and I thought he was one of the great men of history
Mad Bob’s hero downsized the French military dramatically – in his Russian campaign of 1812, an estimated 380,000 French troops were killed. I suspect Campbell Newman’s methods are somewhat more humane than those that Katter would like to inflict on the Queensland population.

Pray that Abbott doesn’t end up relying on Katter’s loons in the Senate. That would be a recipe for disaster.
Katter has been on the public tit since 1974.
38 years on the public dole.
Nice photoshop.
Haha yeah that photoshop is a ripper!
yeah, he’s off the boil
not a nice photo of him on the Courier Mail’s front page
Not only that, but Napoleon was aided in his second stage reductions by the winter. But Campbell Newman has no such help – he will just have to do things with bits of paper called severance notices and cheques, I suppose.
i’m thinking Bob Katter knows he’s past it and is struggling to come terms with it. he’s old hat.
The LNP under Newman has been voted in with the greatest electoral gerrymander in Qlds history (established by the ALP government). I wonder how long it will be before this government will rectify an electoral imbalance that sees rural and regional seats with twice the voters of the city and SEQ seats (and enormous geographical disparity).
I would hope this inequity has not escaped his attention even though it is to his advantage, and he addresses it as quickly as he has sacked the stenographers in our magistrates courts and replaced them with jobs for Indian stenographers, go figure that one…
It is too easy to say the jobs are all surplus to need…let’s examine the story a little more closely and see where the jobs are going. If they are also going offshore, it might not be my job but I have a problem with that as I do with the whole “Executive Building” saga…so much for no sale of public assets.
It seems like on many issues we have had a change of rider but the same horse is still in the race…no change of agenda???
I find it almost physically painful to listen to Katter, especially when he does that weird breathless laugh/spasm of his. He’s even worse than Gillard if that is possible.
Ok, just to play devils advocate for a moment I wonder if Bob isn’t on to something. I mean applying a bit of lateral thinking here – don’t sack them just bring their pay rate back to the average wage less 15%. And insist on performance benchmarks for all of course.
Katter, like every single indo, is going to lose their sinecureby a huge groundswell of public distain.
All of the rent-seekng indoes will be out on their respective arses, in a little over a year’s time, and nothing is going to save them.
Nothing.
Lest we not forget the Greens. They too are in for an almighty smiting….
Good times. I cannot wait to see the look on Red Kerry’s face in the tally room. It will almost be worth it.
katter is shrewd and his party may control the senate in 4 years time.
like the greens, he is not asking for your vote. katter is asking for the rural vote. what he says does not nedd to resonate with you because he is not after your vote.
Was Clive Palmer called a Big S socialist on this site? Just wondering as it would be hypocrytical if he wasn’t.
Where can I buy a Napoleon tie?
For the non-Napoleon buffs, those guys in the Youtube video are re-enactors wearing the lovely dark green of the Russian line infantry circa 1812.
The Commies got rid of it, then brought it back, because they realised it looked cool. Also, Tsarist uniforms were the inspiration for the costumes of House Atreides in the movie Dune.
This has nothing to do with Bob Katter, and more to do with the several beers and half bottle of wine I’ve swilled.
P.S. I really do want a Napoleon tie.
Why is it that my comment at 7:54pm is still awaiting moderation and other comments from 7:57pm through to 12:52am are all online…bias much? Please let’s see some honest discussion of people’s livelihoods and an honest appraisal of both the LNP and the ALP, not some fairytale that is in no one’s interest to perpetrate…honesty in government and amongst it’s supporters brings integrity in our politicians and in their policies. That, surely is in everyone’s interests. Please explain the inequity in the moderation of comments?
