Needed – a president who can provide leadership, not excuses

This is a reply by Mitt Romney to the insane allegation from Obama’s spokeswoman, Stephanie Cutter, that the inquiries taking place over the murder of the American ambassador in Benghazi are occurring only because it has been politicised by Romney and Ryan.

President Obama’s campaign today said that Libya is only an issue because of Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan. They’re wrong. The reason it is an issue is because, for the first time since 1979, an American ambassador was assassinated and President Obama’s foreign policy strategy of ‘leading from behind’ is failing. This administration has continually misled the American public about what happened in Benghazi and, rather than be truthful about the sequence of events, has instead skirted responsibility and dodged questions. The American people deserve straight answers about this tragic event and a president who can provide leadership, not excuses.

How anyone can not think of this as a major political issue is beyond me. That they would rather suppress such debate shows they understand perfectly well just how far knowing the facts of what took place discredits this administration, but that is the last reason that it should not be discussed right now. The month before an election is the perfect time for these issues to be vetted, far better than the month after, especially if keeping silent allows this administration to be re-elected.

This does say it all:

  1. Is Cutter trying to prove beyond all doubt that the Obama admin is not responsible enough to run the US?

  2. Like our own Gaffe-Machine, all the sewerage the admin of the Sun King has tried to surpress is being aired at the same time:

A well-known whistle-blower in the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives confirmed to FoxNews.com that he was fired this week, and he claims his complaints about Operation Fast and Furious played a role in his dismissal.

Cefalu, who’s served as an ATF special agent for 25 years, was first notified of the plan to fire him more than a year ago but had been on administrative leave until now. He said officials told him he was being canned for “lack of candor,” in reference to a handful of statements he made in testimony in a separate court case.

…Cefalu was one of the founders of the website CleanUpATF, a virtual platform for complaints about the agency. He was among the first to speak up about Fast and Furious, the failed anti-gunrunning operation that let thousands of guns slip across the U.S.-Mexico border. Weapons from the program were founded at the murder scene of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry.

So not only is Bam and the team trying to stop investigations into up to 200 innocent victims of the Fast & the Furiouis, they are sacking people who try to blow the whistle on the issue.

FFS, what else is there to say?

This covering for these incompetent dirtbags is inexcusable.

  4. Romney camp responds to Cutter:

“The campaign that spent the week talking about Big Bird is attacking opponents for wanting to discuss national security.”

    - As Glenn Reynolds says, “ouch.”

  5. Obama and his acolytes are sounding like Juliar and hers. Whatever it takes, and a bit more.

  6. Biden’s strategy is to interrupt everything Ryan says. The moderator has also interrupted Ryan half a dozen times. I think this is backfiring on Biden.

  7. I suspect that all the Biden hand-waving and eye-rolling will annoy the shit out of many voting viewers – although some are claiming he wiped the floor with Ryan.

Not sure that it will counterbalance the Chosen One’s improving poll results.

  8. Just saw the Toesucker’s video predicting an “October surprise” from the Obama team – that he’s going to cut some deal with the Iranians over their .\

Dick, mate, the only deal Obama could cut with the Iranians that would be able to put him back in the WH at this point would involve their help in making a video of Romney buggering the Ayatollah Khamenei (or vice versa), which would mysteriously surface on CNN. Obviously this would also require Romney’s collaboration, which for some reason I suspect wouldn’t be forthcoming.

There probably will be an October surprise, and maybe Morris is right about an Iran gambit, but it’s hardly going to work.

  10. OCO, I believe that it is in Iran’s interest to keep the Sun King in the White House. They know they can continue to walk all over the US for 4 more years.

  11. I agree, but with the way things are going now, a deal that results in the suspension of the enrichment programme ain’t going to cut it.

Obama’s getting perilously close to reaching a point where the only thing that will turn his fortunes around is a dead-girl-or-live-boy scenario.

  12. Actually, the anti-Mormon card hasn’t been played yet. Obama’s team are probably sifting through old episodes of Big Love for ideas.

Minor nit: sewerage = pipes; sewage = contents.

  14. Why didn’t Nixon just say that all that fuss about Watergate was just politicised irrelevance. Or poor Bill Clinton.

It seems to me, Obama has just plaint lied to the American People for a whole week about a terrorist act.

It is amazing that half of America are perfectly fine with their government lying to them.

  15. What an extraordinary day now finished in the US.

The horror Obumma bitch Stephanie Cutter and Slow Joe have sealed their boss’ fate.

This might be a landslide on Nov 6.

  16. Billy Graham to Romney : “I’ll do all I can to help you. And you can quote me on that,”

Apparently Graham, and Romney’s dad were friends.
