As noted by Sinclair, Rudd voted in favour of Peter Slipper being retained as Speaker. Here is the record of the vote in Hansard. Rudd’s name is clearly in the no column. Note I was wrong in claiming that Katter voted – he did not attend the division and was not paired.
More generally, perhaps we need to develop a searchable Parliamentary voting database such as the US Congress Votes Database to easily find whether an MP has supported a motion.

Shame on Katter… Even Wilkie was on board.

Don’t we already? Called Votes and Proceedings under Hansard?

Which ever way it worked out, the result was the same. More disgrace on this died of shame government.

I actually understand why Rudd voted this way. He’s a backbencher and like all the backbenchers was given his marching orders. Breaking ranks on this issue would have been a big deal and instantly ended his political career.

Had Katter been present, and had he voted with the Opposition & Wilkie, the vote would have been tied.
Now here’s a question; if the vote was tied, Anna Burke would cast the deciding vote, would she too vote for Slipper and put herself out of her job as Speaker?
