OBAMA ON COMEDY CENTRAL: ‘WHEN FOUR AMERICANS GET KILLED, IT’S NOT OPTIMAL’

Just about the biggest headline ever on Drudge. Not only does he describe the deaths of four diplomats as “not optimal” he does it on Comedy Central. This is beyond the classless society into a world of cretins.

He could still win but the tide is moving in the opposite direction. He cannot be gone and out of the way soon enough.

  1. So much for his role as Empathiser-in-Chief.

  2. A large part of the reason Obama keeps making blunders like this is due to the fact that over the years he’s dodge hard interviews and gone on programs that will give him a pass like the Daily Show.

How many times has he addressed Fox or even a very sympathetic (kinda) journalist like Candy Crowley on CNN?

Is it a surprise he blunders even during one of John Steward’s soft-ball rah-rah sessions?

  5. Everyone will be happy to know that if the US President says a statement as moronic and heartless as this on 10 November it will be front page news in the NYT, WaPo and all other news agency will run with it for a month.

  6. …but going on the experience of that presidents wife on The View, the US President won’t say moronic statements like that.

  12. Yes Token, Whoopsie laid an egg, and then mashed it into her own face (leftards, note that was metaphor).
Ann Romney showed a lot of poise and grace and then explained things using small words (for Whoopsie’s benefit)

They really are getting desperate. I was wondering when the Mormon card would be played, and Whoopsie chose to play it in ignorance.

Obama responded: ‘Here’s what I’ll say. If four Americans get killed, it’s not optimal.’

What an incredibly cynical statement. I suppose you think the horrible death of a quarter of a million human beings is funny. You can only be described as a monster.

  21. He said it on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart where more people get their news from than a lot of shows on CNN or Fox. The quote is probably terrible, it’s too late to look up the full conversation, but to anyone who has a slight bit of knowledge of the American zeitgeist the “comedy” channel part doesn’t really have anything to do with it.

  26. To be fair he used Stewarts own words back.

But to be blunt that was even moronic than saying it yourself without the verbal prompt. At least you have a chance to parse whether the language is appropriate in answer.

And this is the guy that is “the smartest President ever” and “the greatest orator ever”. Every time he opens his mouth freelance style shit leaks out.

But, the one thing that still gets me, and yes this is howling at the moon, imagine if Bush had said something similar.

The US msm would be eating the carcass, our ABC would explode ……. the list goes on. Pisses me off the proportionality of responses.

  27. On faltering green-energy companies.

The problem is not government picking winners and losers. By definition, putting fiat funding into an activity that is not supported by a market is picking losers.

Having started out with their sugar hit of government handout (via quotas, grants, direct investment, tax breaks, whatever) these businesses are obliged at some point to confront the direct, or indirect effects of competition from energy sent out at a small fraction of the price of green electrons. At which point they join the list of those that can’t.

Any business not on the list is waiting to join.

  31. Being sodomized and murdered by crazed Islamists is indeed ‘not optimal’, but he could have had the decency to say something like “not optimal is an understatement, it’s deeply distressing and I’ll always wonder what I might have done better.” Something, ANYTHING to indicate that he felt just the slightest shred of responsibility or remorse.

Right now it’s “this is harshing my buzz, man – how am I going to get re-elected with all this shit going on?”
