The 47% will have a lot to answer for

It, of course, should matter that the President of the United States cannot be relied upon to tell the truth. With Obama, following in the Clinton tradition lying at his convenience, we now find this from the Reuters News Agency:

White House told of militant claim two hours after Libya attack: emails

Drudge headlines this as “HE KNEW”. For Democrats, there are more important issues at stake than the integrity of the President and national security, things such as abortion rights for post-menopausal women and free medical care for illegal migrants. This is how the story begins:

Officials at the White House and State Department were advised two hours after attackers assaulted the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya, on September 11 that an Islamic militant group had claimed credit for the attack, official emails show.

The emails, obtained by Reuters from government sources not connected with U.S. spy agencies or the State Department and who requested anonymity, specifically mention that the Libyan group called Ansar al-Sharia had asserted responsibility for the attacks.

The brief emails also show how U.S. diplomats described the attack, even as it was still under way, to Washington.

This takes us straight back to the second debate where Romney was given that insufferable lecture from Obama thanks to the set up by Candy Crawley about how the buck stops with him and he said it was a terrorist attack right from the start and etc etc blah blah blah.

But for two weeks they blamed it on a youtube video because they didn’t want to undermine their star turn of having al Qaeda on the run because they had finally managed to kill that old has-been, Osama bin Laden. So they lied instead. These people need to be driven from the presidency as quickly as it is humanly possible to do.

  1. Utterly disgusting.

And Hillary Clinton vomited forth the workshopped lie standing next to the Ambassador’s coffin.

    Scum.

  2. Steve,

I wonder if we should consider that recipients of tax, publis servants, welfare recipients, etc., ought not to be allowed to vote?

I reminds me of the origin of the Boston tea party rebellion – no taxation without representation – ie. those who pay the taxes (those in the public sector don’t except in a rhetorical sense) determine the laws that guide the taxpayers.

It means refuting the labour value theory of economics etc., (which others here are able to demonstrate better than I), but which seems to be the basic stumbling block ideologically.

So blaming the 47% (I assume to be the % on the public teat in the US) for outcome of the 2012 election of the POTUS is pointless – of course they will vote for a continuation of the Teat Supply.

This idea would insult the egalitarians and democricians among us, but reduce our modern societies to the previous hunter-gather, subsistence ones and we will witness a rather focussed instance of hypocrisy.

So those who are on the Teat Publicus can’t vote.

  4. I agree with your broad conclusion Steve, but I cannot follow your reasoning.

It might be argued that Obama knew it was Ansar al-Sharia but also believed they were reacting to the video.

I’ll attribute things to incompetence ahead of conspiracies every time.

  5. Louis, whilst I think your idea has some merit, I’d be a bit uneasy about governments being able to take away the vote from otherwise law abiding people. Can you imagine that The Lying Slapper wouldn’t disenfranchise all Cattalaxians if it served her purpose?
Remember that this government invoked emergency powers just so they could use guvvie money for their re election bid.

    2. How on Earth could they lie so passionately with such straight faces? I guess with them, it’s a case of practice makes perfect.
    3. Have you ever considered how ummm lucky it was for them that the stupid, obscure youtube video ummm suddenly emerged exactly when they needed it

  7. David, you’re using the word ‘conspiracy’ as an a kind of formulaic ad hominem designed to convey nuttiness where there is none.

The President of the United States and the Secretary of State of the United States lied – that is, knowingly told untruths – about the nature of the attack. Moreoever, this was an orchestrated media strategy designed to ensure the bin Laden killing – considered national security gold by the Administration – wasn’t derailed or vitiated.

So yes, it meets the definition – not the Macquarie Dictionary definition but the actual definition – of a conspiracy.

Richard Murdock Republican Senate Candidate for Indiana believes that abortion in the case of pregnancy after rape is wrong also as life begins at conception so the life was God’s will.

So radical it needs to be reported on Australian ‘their’ ABC news radio excitedly at 10pm

  10. PBS’ McNeil/Lehrer Newshour (which has neither Mr McNeil for many years or more recently Jim Lehrer) on SBS today was about the most biased I have ever seen it (and that is saying something).

Apparently even after a day’s reflection Governor Romney was still terrible on Monday and moreover some fact-checking revealed that he had lied all the way thru’ the debate.

  12. It might be argued that Obama knew it was Ansar al-Sharia but also believed they were reacting to the video.

One hundred members of Ansar al-Sharia were spontaneously responding to the video at a protest on 9/11, with AK-47s, RPGs, and mortars handy, what, after watching the clip on someone’s iPhone? FMD. Some people will not recognize the obvious.

“Mitt Romney gained ground in three out of the four states that changed status in this week’s Electoral College map.
“Missouri moved to ‘safe’ Romney, and Oregon and Minnesota moved from ‘safe’ Obama to ‘lean’ Obama.
“Connecticut moved from ‘lean’ to ‘safe’ Obama, but its seven Electoral College votes were neutralized by Oregon’s and Minnesota’s shifts.
“Mr. Romney now stands at 169 ‘safe’ Electoral College votes with three ‘lean’ states (37 EC votes), while Barack Obama is down to 184 ‘safe’ EC votes and four ‘lean’ states (53 EC votes).
“The number of ‘toss up’ states is unchanged at eight (95 EC votes). But Mr. Romney continued to strengthen his position, especially in New Hampshire, Florida, and Virginia.”

  25. Archbishop Chaput on the politics of abortion

“Catholics have been historically part of the Democratic party in great numbers and I think could have really stopped that development and movement if they had tried. But they didn’t,” Philadelphia archbishop Charles J. Chaput says in a new interview with the Catholic News Service, speaking about the Democrats’ “embrace” of abortion….

Abortion, Archbishop Chaput says, “is very serious issue that requires absolute adherence on the part of Catholics,” Chaput explains. “And if we don’t stand united on this issue, we’re bound to failure — not only in the area of protecting unborn human life but in maintaining our religious freedom,”

  27. I’m not a great fan of the American hierarchy, James. Apart from their appalling incompetence and cold cluelessness regarding clerical sexual abuse – and the queerised seminaries that created it – there is in their culture rather too much of the lordly, high and mighty. I also thought it was a cowardly disgrace for Archbishop Dolan to host and laugh it up with Obama at the Al Smith Dinner. If he had any balls, he would have sent an auxiliary or called the whole thing off.
