A post script from Mark Steyn

This is from Mark Steyn in his National Review Online post, Nobel Mann Takes On Revolting Peasants which deals with his being sued by Michael Mann for defamation. I would almost certainly have mentioned his posting anyway, but now it is compulsory. Here is the post script he adds:

P.S. Given that the New York Times is calling this a 21st-century Scopes monkey trial, I rather like Steve Kates’s ingenious headline Down Under: ‘Inherit The Wind Farm.’

I must tell you the title felt a bit obscure for most people even as I wrote it, but I knew that someone like Mark Steyn would see the joke right away. What is amazing to me is not that he saw the joke but that he saw the post.

And if you’re interested, you can read “Inherit the Wind Farm” for yourself right here.

  1. Steve K – Mr Steyn almost certainly reads Tom Nelson the all seeing eye.

  2. As always, Steyn manages to make valid points and be hilarous simultaneously – a rare skill. Our Prof Bunyip is not bad at it but Steyn is the master.

Still, he’s got balls having a crack at someone who’s suing him. Lucky Proferssor Mann isn’t 1/64th Aboriginal or some other protected minority, or Steyn would probably be in jail.

  3. Why don’t you just reprint every one of Steyn’s pieces on the Cat, and cut out the middle man.

  5. Apparently Mann is taking action because he claims someone likened him to a pedophile. That’s after Mann spent a decade likening anyone who disagrees with him to a holocaust denier.

    Pass the popcorn.

  7. If Steyn reads the Cat, he should be directed to the response to Samuel by the Nobel about Mann’s “Peace Prize”.

  8. The case will be heard by a “Washington judge acknowledged to have the worst reputation for bias and abuse of process“. Naturally.

Hopefully Steyn is financially backed for an appeal that will keep His Eminence Professor Sir Michael Mann KC, VC, AO fixed in the spotlight for years to come.

Popcorn and a large bag of M&M’s, I think.

Not necessarily. He might simply have a google alert set up for his name.

Having said that, the Cat seems to have recently come to the notice of the American blogosphere broadly.

  13. [...] Steve Kates has a helpful link to a piece by Mark Steyn. Buried in the documentation is a link to the actual Court document lodged by Mann’s lawyers to the civil division of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. [...]
