How things are going on the green front lately.
Australia-in-new-zealand-out of Kyoto. This and a whole line of good things over at Jo Nova’s place, so go and have a look.
And Watts has not been idle. A string of good posts there as well. Like the gang of 28 who made the BBC go Green, a list kept out of sight as long as possible. EU suspends aircraft emissions trading rules that require airlines flying to and from airports in the EU to pay for their carbon emissions. And much more.
And at home, another Green folly sinks in the sunset. Remember the sinking tidal power station at Port Kembla!
Solar Dawn will be one of the largest power plants of its kind in the world as well as the most environmentally responsible, with at least 85 per cent of its power generation to be emissions-free. A total of $464 million in federal funding will go towards that project, worth an estimated $1.2 billion.
RIP. Pity about the sunk cost. But look on the bright side. We could have done a Bil. Thanks to Campbell Newman for pulling the plug!
Not really Green but related to coal and the ALP.
Interesting link from a comment at Bolta’s place. Don’t like their looks but I think they are on our side. “France youth against the NEW WORLD ORDER being flogged at this very moment by Labor green at workshops around the country :Generation Identitaire · A Declaration of War · From the Youth of France.”

Good onya Rafe. Has anyone seen the state of the State of Tasmania’s economy of late? That shows you what happens when tie everything up in green tape!

Solar dawn dead, Chinchilla, Moree also in the dark and Tindo solar, also opened by Gillard, run by the usual spivs.
Green energy is as crooked as AGW science because like AGW science green energy doesn’t work.
I don’t know the answer; the people advocating both green energy and AGW science should be held to account but nothing happens; the New Zealand court case has left action against the spruikers of AGW science in tatters and no action has ever been taken against the lies of green energy.

Generation Identitaire exists everywhere outside the sippers in the latte belt. They wear boardies and bikinis and hi-viz and workboots, they drive utes and carry toolboxes to do your home renovations and clear out your sewer lines, they serve you in restaurants, they are quite frankly sick of what we have served up to them.
They are the future, because they are our children, and they regard the present adult generation in the western world as having let them down through failed social policies.
Sit down with them for a talk and you will be surprised at what you hear. They feel cheated.

I disagree – Tordon is the trick – you get to hit the greenie with an axe prior to application.
So much more satisfying….

I do hope that there’s a “generation identitaire” or at least a subset of young folk who reject the delusions of those who have taken over our institutions. I hope they are working towards a non-nanny state, rejecting the free stuff bullsh*t that they’ll never see but end up paying for.
But I fear that what we see in that video is a group of actors. I hope I’m wrong. Is it possible that a group of French young people are in fact ahead of the western wave – a wave being ridden successfully at present by the shaggers, propagandists and corrupt deals tyros, as here?
I hope it’s all true. Europe has sleepwalked into a disaster zone, a minefield of debt and PC poison. Their history and culture is being trashed, and unless the sleepers awake they are doomed to be the gatekeepers and janitors in one big Eurodisney tourist park until the influx of moslems leads to it being detonated like the sphinx & pyramids may soon be. The music will stop unless they act.

CL, this is an utterly disgraceful comment and I expect better of you.
Seriously, it’s a terrible thing to say and you should be deeply ashamed of yourself.
I quite like rodents, many are quite useful creatures, they have have a worth and value – hell some are even quite pretty – you just can’t go around denigrating rodents in this manner, dammit!
I mean, really. What has even the mangiest plague-rat done to deserve the insult of being compared to Juliar?

MK,you are correct to a certain extent.
I am old enough to recall the approbation stacked against our second-best-ever PM,the Hon. John Winston Howard.
Mr Howard was popularly (well, as far as the lying Left was concerned) compared to a rodent.
I do not think it fair nor appropriate that Ms Gillard be compared to a rodent.
I would tend to think that an inanimate object, such as a SHITSTAIN, would be far more apropos.
Each to his own. Peace.

Kaboom, they’re cranky, they do feel cheated. They haven’t got what they were promised as entitled young things, they’re closing in on 30 with no ability to buy the kind of beachfront house that they grew up in, they have HECS debts, so they’re now having to settle for renting out in the suburbs or waiting for us to die.
They have to work for casual wages or do 21/7 in the remote areas, as ours do.
These are the facts of life for our children. Consequently, I’m not letting them anywhere near our Powers of Attorney in case they hear of “do not resuscitate.”
Ralph should have been very careful about putting his signature on the dotted line. Fortunately for him it was a specific POA, otherwise unintended consequences may have happened with regard to his health and wellbeing before he lived to tell the tale of prime ministerial infamy.

I’m seriously becoming more and more convinced that all these green power schemes are, and always have been, nothing more than money-funnels to good mates. How else can a piece of industrial hardware with a guaranteed market for, and projected future shortage of, the thing it is designed to provide (i.e. electrical power) do so horribly badly?
As I understand it, or rather as I understand is being claimed, Solar Dawn pulled the plug because Campbell Newman cut $75mn out of an estimated $1.2bn development costs. That’s 75 parts in 1200, or about 6.25% of the total costs. That was a deciding factor? Really?
The alternative is that Labor is so utterly incompetent that it really does think it’s doing good science*. But whether criminally incompetent or just plain old criminal, it all boils down to one thing – LABOR HAS TO GO. NOW. For the good of the nation.

Nice summary.
I encourage people to read the link at Anthony Watts’ about the Gorebull team trying to use Australian film-maker Chris Tangey’s footage of a perfectly normal natural event as propaganda for CAGW. Tangey sent the dopey acolyte who tried a second time to rope him in an absolute zinger of a response.

“Orphaned at seven and raised in poverty, this self-educated soldier settler overcame difficult beginnings to dominate the Australian political arena for twenty years. The sucess of the Liberal-Country Party coalition throughout the fifties and sixties is largely attributed to McEwen’s strength and influence. Towering and formidable in both stature and personality, Black Jack’s turbulent political career was never without contoversy. His sucession to the Prime Ministership in 1967, after the disapperance of Harold Holt, followed one of the most notorious episodes in Australian political history when McEwen refused to serve under McMahon. Black Jack’s committment to developing Australian trade won him international respect and his enduring influence on Australian economic and trade policy is still regularly discussed by economists and political commentators.”

Maybe that’s the kind of knowledge they need. They have been played as useful idiots and the powers that be will want to put them back in their slumber. They need to be wary of newcomers and do their homework. Infiltration of well-meaning lefties is as sure as night follows day.
