Well prior to seeing the light and leaving Queensland five years ago, I had reason to be around the local media in Swan’s electorate on Monday March 4th, two days after the 1996 election, in which Swan lost his seat to the Lib’s Elizabeth Grace. When the new MP and her staff arrived at the electoral office that day, journalists were told it had been trashed. The phones, computers, shredders, anything that could be trashed was trashed and photographs were then taken. The pics never saw the light of day in the local Labor leaning Quest newspaper, the Northside Chronicle. More to the point, even the most casual observer of Queensland politics for the last twenty years know Swan and Rudd, who represent adjoining electorates split by the Brisbane river, hate loathe and abominate each other and always have since their schooldays at Nambour High. The notion of Swan remaining Treasurer if Rudd took over is silly. Bill Ludwig instructed the ALP to put Swan into place as opposition Treasury spokesman after Latham’s 2004 wipeout and Beazley’s accession to Labor leader yet again. Today Ludwig who was boss of the AWU when the Gillard/Wilson fraud was discovered (and did very little about it at the time), no longer has much power in Queensland politics. A new PM Rudd would simply chose someone else as Treasurer because he didn’t want Swan in the first place but was told by Ludwig to cop it sweet after the 2008 election. Swan was Ludwig’s man, but Rudd knows how utterly incompetant Swan is as Swan’s track record since 2008 has proven.

My good Labor mate LJ went to school at Nambour SHS. He was a year after the Gooose. He says the Goose was a very good League player. Captain of First Grade IIRC.

Did Swannie lead the lads in the team song when they went down 31:15 (that’s not really a deficit chaps)?

Why? Why would a cleaners union commission a poll into the seat of seat of Lilley? I know they have money to burn, but that much?

Because, Jannie, there will be some Craig Thomson clone in the Queensland Moppers Union who will be trying to convince the Pardee to tap Wayne, and will be using the poll numbers to back his case.

I would love this to be true, but there is no ref to Rudd in the articles I googled.

Also note that “The ReachTEL telephone poll was commissioned by union United Voice”

Why? Why would a cleaners union commission a poll into the seat of seat of Lilley? I know they have money to burn, but that much?

We know the current Labor values Swan talks about. Corruption, back room deals, back stabbing and ripping people off.
