Does anyone still care?

us unemployment jan 2013

What’s especially rich is this notion of a “recovery plan” of which there is none except for perhaps this.

Are you working? Good, so shut up and be grateful.

Not working? Well that’s too bad but we’ll make sure you’re resting comfortably (which for more than a few may be all they want anyway). And whatever else, don’t rock the boat however leaky it may be. Things could be worse if the other guys came in and took away the benefits we provide.

Falling GDP as well. An economy going nowhere and four more years of the same management team with the full effects of ObamaCare still to come.

of course, that illustrated figure is way too low.

If does not include those who have given up looking for work.

if you work off the pre-preshizzle (Paco™) participation rate, unemployment in the USA is (IIRC) something like 12%

Steve, as former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton rhetorically responded last week:

“What difference, at this point, does it make?”

Obamacare was just costed by the IRS.

    Some higlights:

    - It will cost a minimum of $20,000 per family annually. I seem to recall the Democrats advertising a figure roughly 10% of that. I specifically recall Obama claiming as much as a 3,000% reduction in the cost of employer provided plans.

    - If you don’t buy it it will cost you a Tax, which the IRS insists on calling a penalty (even though the Supreme Court ruled otherwise)of 2.5 percent of taxable income, or $2,085.00 minimum per family

Effect on the U.S. economy? “U.S. employers are increasingly offshoring jobs precisely to avoid these costs. So you’re more likely than ever to find yourself unemployed by 2016. All across America, employers are responding to Obamacare mandates by slashing the weekly work hours of employees. U.S. businesses that used to thrive at full production are now experiencing severe shortages because they simply can’t afford to cover Obamacare costs for full-time employees.”

    cripes, dot.

Shows how successful socialists are at creating misery and embeggarment.

    Peasants ARE easier to rule.

  5. .

Is the IRS saying that Obama care will cost about 5% of GDP?

There is another aspect that is only just starting to hit. Under Obamacare anyone working 30 hours a week or more must be offered health insurance by the employer. Or be fined.

So human nature being what it is suddenly all job vacancies are now for 29.99 hours per week (/sarc).

And if the employer isn’t paying for health insurance you yourself must pay for it, at 12% of your income.

He is not reducing the ‘unemployment rate’, he is reducing the hours worked and the take home pay of the workers who voted for him.

No wonder the US consumers aren’t spending money.

    Forward Soviet!

This will quite possibly end in tears…

he is reducing the hours worked and the take home pay of the workers who voted for him.

As Iowahawk so brilliantly observed when dumbocrat voting morons started whining about their take home pay being reduced:

Before November Six you were a useful idiot.

    Now you’re just an idiot.

Why is this system so complicated? Can’t someone just publish how much people/employees are being forced to pay and what they are getting? Even the linked article is not understandable.

  10. Zatara

Mundi, because if people understood it they would never have allowed it to pass.

And when they finally do understand it shit is going to hit the fan.

  11. If you turn it upside down, it looks like a recovery.

“What difference, at this point, does it make?”

I noteiced yesterday that swooning SBS/ABC was running a town hall meeting between Hillary and voters. Puff when there should be serious questions.

At this stage the media is doing whatever it takes to ensure another Democrat is in the White House in 2017.

Stats like the ones you note will not get any coverage.

Good to see Katesy rolling out the old half-truths and misdirections. The chart wasn’t an Obama administration promise, but one economic projection amongst others.

The employment rate went up due to increased participation. Normally a positive sign.

The GDP dropped 0.1% due to a large one-off drop in defence spending (which is forecasted to bounce back this quarter).

The effects of Obamacare on the economy are still unknown. One possibility of creating a better individual insurance market will be to encourage more self employment and entrepreneurship.

By Obama’s advisers, and he acted on the advice and sold the package that way.

    Fuckwit.

    No.

Hint: Take your hand off it, son.
