There has been some movement in the betting markets. Centrebet now has Bill Shorten at $4 to be ALP leader and Sportsbet has him at $5. These odds have improved quite dramatically in the last couple of days. But it seems that his odds are improving at the expense of other possibilities and not so much Julia Gillard ($2.50 at Centrebet and $2.10 at Sportsbet) or Kevin Rudd ($1.90 at Centrebet and $2.15 at Sportsbet).

I simply don’t think he has the courage to take over now. Bill is a man that needs to be spoon fed. Having said that… someone is certainly convinced. To move from $9 to $5 overnight is rare, then he’s come in another dollar today. Someone likes him.

Well, as the A.L.P.’s “Minister for Employment of his Relation in the Workplace”, he has possibly(?) got his dear old mother-in-law’s vote in the bag, from her cosy little granny flat called “Yarralumla”.
If he does win and the party faithful want to celebrate with a meat pie and a beer, Prime Minister ‘Short Willy’
could maybe shout the beer (if he can afford it on his pittance of a salary), but experience suggests that he will have to delegate the acquisition of the meat pies.
He’d better not give the job to Swannie – he’s bloody hopeless with money!

Clearly the work of Tony Abbott. Rumour has it that he used a Liberal Party credit card to make payments that have swayed Centrebet’s changing odds. Naturally this is criminal behaviour, and he should be charged, stripped of his seat, and then publicly hanged without trial.
Is there nothing to which this man will not stoop to destabilise the magnificent Gillard government as it leads us all into a brighter, smarter future?
