Fleeced, three or four people watch the show and report here. They do this so that the rest do not need to be subjected to such lefty rabid TV.

This is my first viewing this year,and I actually
believe from here-say that the emphasis did change
a bit at the start of the New Year. The ABC can’t all
be headed for utter destruction in September, SOME of them might want to remain employed and retain their mortgages.

PLUS, I’m ancient (aged over 60), so I got taught once upon a time how to sort the nuggets from the dross, and I very much enjoy excercising my mind in this way still, it is a useful skill in many areas of life I find.

for nilk : it is far better to face your demons healthy and well, than alternatively. Prevention is better that Cure, etc etc.

Q&A on the Cat is a magnificent railing by dissidents against the abuse of state power by an anti-democratic elite. It works best if you’re not actually watching the propaganda itself, but just reacting to the reactions of people you trust.

As for tonight’s panel, I give you Viv Benjamin, Young Taxeater of the Year:

Viv’s work with Oaktree over the years is nothing short of inspiring. In 2007, Viv was the National Director of the Make Poverty History Zero Seven Road Trip. It was at this event that Kevin Rudd made the historic commitment to increase aid to 0.5% of national income, which became both Labor and Liberal bipartisan policy for years to come. At 19 years old, Viv founded and directed End Child Slavery, a national initiative which lobbied major chocolate companies certify their products as Fairtade and slave-free. In 2010 she was National Director of the Make Poverty History Road Trip, one of the largest youth antipoverty campaigns in Australian history with one thousand young people from every Federal Electorate joining the cause. Since 2006, Viv has sat on the core decision-making group of the Make Poverty History coalition. Since 2008, Viv has been a Director on the Boards of the Oaktree Foundation and Mustard Leadership Australia. Viv is completing a double degree in Law and International Politics at Monash University.

Feeney is a catholic and looked with great interest at the election of the Pope. “I’m encouraged by the fact he’s from Argentina, and I like Jesuits”

Feeney supports gay marriage, and the Church doesn’t dictate ALP policy. “We don’t wait for directions”

Feeney now complaining about how media regulation is a Good Thing. The government’s just proposing the strengthen the media council and encourage more self-regulation.

Feeney: blather – it’s about something that’s good for the public.

Viv: government has been stuck in a rut on reform, and is now rushing through, but we’re not sure if we’ll be able to achieve what we need.

Freedom of speech is good, but we need a diversity of voices, a diversity of views.

I think one of the problems in Australia at the moment is we’re not allowed to sack women for becoming unattractive, or even hire attractive women for jobs that are benefited by it. I don’t think the younger generation is even that much less conservative. Less socially conservative maybe, but definitely more fiscally conservative (you grow more fiscally conservative as you age, and the new generation is already at worst fiscally centrist by age 19).

The Catholic Church is the only institution left in the Western world that hasn’t been thuggishly bullied into adopting or paying sycophantic lip service to their diabolical orthodoxies on these subjects.

They will never succeed.
