The election results are looking a lot better now than they did last night. The Coalition has a big majority in the lower house, the ALP leadership team that got them into so much trouble over the last six years is more or less intact, and it looks like two sensible individuals have gotten elected to the senate. I’m also pleased that Adam Bandt got re-elected – the Greens will continue to undermine the ALP from the left.
David Leyonhjelm of the Liberal Democrats and Bob Day of Family First are both exactly the type of people who should be in the Senate when all those big spenders are trying to raise taxes and/or spend our money on nonsense policy.
Terje draws our attention to this LDP election ad – I hadn’t seen it before the election.
