Accidental? I think not

This report shows a sign placed outside Liberal Senator Cash’s office where the singular ‘woman’ was used instead of the plural. Then a photo of the sign was tweeted by none other than Craig Emerson.

But is it really likely that (a) the misspelling occurred and (b) Labor noticed the misspelling and made an issue of it before it had been pulled down by Cash’s office?

Or is it more likely that a Labor supporter in Parliamentary services  deliberately ordered a sign with ‘woman’ and told a Labor mate to be ready to take a photo and send it out.

Because I would think that the first person to notice an error would be Senator Cash or one of her staff – it is not clear they would ask Emmo to tweet about it. In fact they would have had it taken down straight away.

Labor mates. Hanging around public service departments near you.

    Why is the “Coalition red-faced”?

It’s the public service that should be red faced – and facing the axe.

  2. Robbo

Emerson is a total dill and trivia is what he likes to do because anything that requires REAL intellect is simply beyond him. While this “typo” might well have been accidental I do not believe anything is beyond the myriad of Labor appointed white ants in the public service and the government will ignore them at their own peril.

Either the person should be sacked as they can’t proof their work or should be sacked for helping the ALP set up a childish “Gotcha”

  4. boy on a bike

Either way, whoever did it should be a goner. Incompetent, stupid, impartial – take your pick of reasons to terminate.

  5. Andore Jr.

Emerson is a troll – did anyone catch him on Ch9 election night? Costello was swatting him like a persistent mozzie.

Even Crean, sitting between both – started to roll his eyes when the Whyalla dingbat opened his trap.

  6. Gab

Seems to be a childish stunt which makes me believe it was conceived and executed by some Labor tool. And given there’s no show without Punch, that overgrown child afflicted with St Vitas’ Dance then proceeded to tweet. Well I guess Emerson has nothing better to do nowadays and he must get bored reading and discussing Labor’s ‘Who Wants to be a Leader ‘ sitcom daily.

  7. Dr Faustus

Presumably, Emerson is auditioning for a bit part in the Chaser.

Australian public life will miss him in the same way it misses polio.

  8. steve

Its a horror movie, right there on my TV

I don’t think any of those things qualify as sufficient for termination in the APS. At worst, whoever did it will be counselled about their ‘underperformance’ and a plan will have to be developed to return them to an average level of performance.

Still up to the firstyear uni student crap .just out of high school with no teachers to pull them into gear.
“your workers pardee ,there fur you” ,and not onehas ever had a Real Job!

Trust Emerson to be involved. He’s so filled with venom he’s about to poison himself.

I wonder if poisonous animals can poison themevles? Anyone know?

If so, leg overman is in serious trouble.

  13. Why is there an Office for Women at all?

There is no Office for Men.

The entire ‘Womyn’ edifice should be expunged and true equality permitted.

Albo et al have an Oriface for Wymminses…

It’s truly fucking amazing just how much hubris there is on the left.

Look, Craig… You may not want to admit this but it’s reality, not some delusional parallel universe which nearly al the left seems to live in.

Your fucking government collapsed. It literally collapsed- something new in the Australian political scene. When the earwax eater was rebirthed 14 senior ministers resigned in protest. There was nothing left of the government except dead bodies lying around and various body parts.

Stop making up shit about the new government, you venomous swine.

  16. calli

I find it really demeaning that there is an ‘Office for Women’. Why? Is there an ‘Office for Men’?

Women are quite capable of achieving all they want to achieve…are we some sort of second-rate group (albeit >50% of the population) that needs a little helping hand from government?

When the signwriters come in to change the sign, please remove the title altogether. It’s an insult.

Nah, IIRC, the venom is only toxic in the bloodstream – if you eat a posionous snake you will be totally fine, get bit by one and different story. As venemous animals store their venom seperate of the bloodstream it is not possible for them to posion themselves. Also, many venemous animals such as snakes carry an anti-venom for their own venom in their blood, so even if they accidentally bite themselves in an attack they won’t die. Evolution tends to be pretty good at shutting down mechanisms for animals to accidentally top themselves – on the other hand, Labor may have moved outside of the evolutionary process.

Never attribute to conspiracy what could instead be incompetence.

There would be some good things about an office for women, like domestic violence, crisis/care issues and so on. I understand Tony Abbott and his wife and involved with raising money and help for a local women’s refuge.

  23. james

There would be some good things about an office for women

Could be some good things about an office for men, dealing with Paternity fraud and introducing “Equality” into divorce proceedings, and area where feminists are remarkably reticent.

Overall we are probably better off without an official office for either and common sense reigning, but apparently thinking that makes me the sort of man who wants to endorse clitorectomies and foot binding.

Um candy they are all state responsibilities and dealt with under state law. And Mr Abbott did raise$148,000 for the women’s shelter in his local electorate.

There should be No Minister for Woman or Women — Is there a Minister for Men? It is just rubbish and people like Ita Buttocks, Anne Shummers, Lisping Lizzie Broderick feed into the rubbish – well shame on them. Women and men are equal before the law and we have laws enough in place to deal with discrimination, domestic violence and the like….. the problem is the application of the law.

  26. The Office for the Status of Women is a ‘gatekeeper’ preventing Truth from getting out, and a sister to the Discrimination Commissioner empire.

This was demonstrated recently through their overt inaction and covert preventions.

A lot of men watched this report on TV. Women too. But will our society at large take any notice?
    http://parzivalshorse.blogspot.com.au/2013/09/discrimination-and-suspicion-of-men.html
    Few thought so.
You watch. Make your own mind up.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=HeVKCj9_-Xc

Discrimination against men is rampant (report from Australia)

Airlines have been told time and time again to stop the clear discrimination against men. They all say “we will review our policy”. They ‘review’ them but never change them.

Note the airline spokes’persons’ claim that the policy is a response to ‘customer comments’. Which customers would they be? Clearly they do not listen to men, so what does that leave us with?

Our schools are ‘female dominated’ but the phrase is never seen in a newspaper. Even this TV report shied away from it. There are no ‘Orders from Above’ to have 40% males as teachers. That’s just for women in Boardrooms.

The incidents and fields of activity shown here are just the tip of a Misandric iceberg kept afloat by the Office for the Status of Womyn. There is no Office for the Status of men.

Even God the Father would be ‘spoken to’ by a cop in Oz for taking a photo of His children.

Did you notice the statistics shown on the TV report? On child sexual abuse in Oz. ABS statistics.
    And NOT shown?

30.2% of child sexual abuse is by a male relative. 11.1% by a ‘stranger’. That covers everyone except female relatives, who are not mentioned. The 58.7% of perpetrators who are never mentioned – Women Relatives.

Men get the blame, the shame, the suspicion and the discriminatory policies, while the majority of perpetrators are ignored.

The Lawyer on the TV asks that the Discrimination Commissioner (always a woman) should stop this misandry.

One like our Governor General, in the highest position in the land, who when she was the Discrimination Commissioner dismissed a senior civil servant’s request for a review of discrimination against men in Health funding with, “Well he would complain, wouldn’t he: he’s a man”.

  27. C.L.

I don’t even get how this is funny or ironic or … anything really.

    ?

I mean, is it as funny as this?

For krist-sake can the simpleminded Labor politicians of all sorts please fuck off with this never-ending bullshit.

Say “Women” 100 times Emmo then fuck off, you weird dipstick:

Earth to women: do you ever shut up?

  30. candy

What are you on about C.L. if I may ask? Julia Gillard fell over, but is it funny to laugh at anyone falling over?

  31. Aliice

Have to agree with Candy CL.
Shouldnt really laugh at a falling over accident.

  32. Tinta

Earth to women: do you ever shut up?

The Sunbather says I resemble that remark.

  33. james

Earth to women: do you ever shut up?

    Mate, have you met women?

They are good in all sorts of ways, but shutting up is not one.

  34. Rob MW

I take it that nobody laughs when men get accidentally on purpose hit in the middle-stump ?

God………………it brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it !!!!!!!

  35. Laugh? It sells furniture, snacks, cars, cosmetics, almost anything but male medical services.

  36. Samuel, it’s just one of those things that happen.

It was probably an MS Outlook auto spell error, like posts via iPads here on the Cat.

The socialists can laugh all they like, it won’t save their ALPBC.

And it’s a well know fact that sign writers can’t spell.

  37. Up The Workers!

Who believes that Labor(sic) noticed a spelling mistake?

In the last 100 years, they have totally failed to notice the fact that they have been mis-spelling their own party name.

How embarrassing would it be to be appointed “Minister for Education” in a party so pathologically stupid that they have been mis-spelling their own party name for a century and never noticed?

  38. Dan

Emmo still banging on about Gina…

  39. Elizabeth (Lizzie) B.

I find it really demeaning that there is an ‘Office for Women’. Why? Is there an ‘Office for Men’?

The Cat should open an Office for Kittehs. We could put in lots of curtains and cushions, and have some Italian desks for our laptops, and easy chairs that flatter the legs, and several large pot plants and a very pretty tea set for our tea. The Qantas Lounge in Dubai has delicate gold-rimmed bone china cups and saucers, and what a joy it is to have a civilised little finger lifted after a gruelling first leg to London. I imagine it might feel the same to sink in relief into the Office for Kittehs for a cuppa and some girl talk when there is turbulence on the Cat airwaves created by the big and bad boys.

Can’t think of what else one could do with an Office for Women. Silly idea, really.

  40. Jannie

Hey, if this is the sort of thing that gets Labor’s rocks off, it should be fun.

  41. Andrew

Should be easy. Tell the contractor his bill isn’t being paid because he fucked up the job. Then he produces the instruction from a Labor stool. (No I don’t mean “stooge”) Then that person can join Emmo in no longer filling their recent occupation.
