  1. Mike of Marion

I wouldn’t even acknowledge she exists!!!! Don’t give the dill any oxygen

  2. steve of kenmore

Who the f@#& is she? I How crazy is the biatch?

  3. min

I gather she was one of the 33 percent who voted for a party run by a a narcissistic egomaniac psychopath according to fellow party members.

  4. Mike Farrell

Mmmm. Oh well, Van Badham could never be accused of being sexy like Tony Abbott’s daughters or Julie Bishop and other LNP females.

She should stick to making “cheese toasties”.

No doubt she supports aid to Indonesia, who, according to the Jakarta Post last Friday, is getting 24 brand new F-16s in 2014, as we cut back our defence spending.

  5. Ian of Perth

    Wow!
I guess both the people who saw this before the election followed her advice!

  6. Fisky

The Liberals a “far right threat” to democracy! Who is this zombie and why are we listening to her?

  7. Honesty

Rudd spent your welfare/subsidies and the next few generations with a debt of $400,000,000,000. Building libraries for kids with iPads being one of the smarter investments. Van lives in another universe, pathetic, small minded lefty that thinks a Facebook page is a contribution to society.

  8. Gibbo

Sorry, I could only last 2 minutes and I had to stop that. The woman is ill or delusional or both. Either way she needs help… or endless, relentless mockery.

  9. Charles

Classic exercise in Leftists having a demonstrated lack of ability to be self aware. There is their opinion, daylight second, and then somewhere in far reaches of nowhere and never to be even considered, everyone else’s view.

Sadly, there are a significant number of persons in our community who think along the same lines, and who show totally partisan tendencies based on everything else but fact or empirical data. They can never be converted, and putting a considered argument to them will never cut the mustard, they are beyond reason.

  10. Jac

Obviously a lady who has a narrow outlook who for some unknown reason wants to demonise Abbott. She talks about the Fraser Government as being far different to the Abbott Government but she is not old enough to be able to know that. I can assure her that the Rudd/Gillard Government was the worst Labor Government in the last 55 years. And I am old enough to have the experience of those Governments. Most of her arguments are the reason the majority of the electorate voted Liberal this time around. Van Badham needs to take some time off from the Leftie tribal views for a while and realise that the country will benefit from a PM who will govern for the people – not just the Left or the Right.

  11. James of the Glen

What piece of work. The underclass in all its ignorant glory, from “climate change” to “misogyny”.

Vanessa must be one of the most easily manipulated and gullible pieces of unpleasantness yet to earn the classification of Useful Idiot. A lack-lustre education, family “issues” and ignorance of everything outside her limited understanding results in this sorry mess.

Her only determination appears to one of staying ignorant; this class of person is so bound up in toxic hate they are best disregarded and left to their fate.

  12. Brett

I tried to watch it, I really did; but I just couldn’t make it through. The frightening thing is it looks and sounds like a functioning adult, but the thoughts and conclusions and arguments are those of an overwrought toddler. Astounding.

  13. Milton Von Smith

That’s the funniest thing I’ve watched all year!

  14. cohenite

What a fuckwit. And she is so pleased when she looks in the mirror.

  15. I gather she was one of the 33 percent who voted for a party run by a a narcissistic egomaniac psychopath according to fellow party members.

And who knifed Australia’s first female Prime Minister, with the help of another man and a male-dominated union movement.

Mind you, I bet she voted Green.

  16. J.H.

Classic socialist……… She practices the ideology of deceit so completely that her life is a filtered construct of every lie she has ever lived and breathed.

You could not communicate with this woman. You could lead this horse to the fount of knowledge itself, but she wouldn’t drink a drop.

  17. Tom

Then the little tart went out and voted for the Greenfilth in the House or the Senate or both. And she’s lecturing us about “extremism”. Sweetie, you’re in the 20 per cent of self-righteous fucktards — the political class — who are utterly cut off from the mainstream. If you don’t understand why there has never been such a gulf between you and the rest, stop whingeing and go and find out. YOU are the problem. You DON’T know better. The great middle class knows better, which is why they voted to remove fucktards like you from control over our lives and our money.

  18. JMH

I was about to say I just wasted 5 minutes and 41 seconds of my life but on review, I agree with Milton @ 2.01 pm. This is classic Funniest Home Video material. A howler monkey in overdrive – although Van would be the last to realise that.

  19. cohenite

    Great name.

[That was a very funny joke, but a tad inappropriate. Sinc]

  20. Chris M

I could only take a couple of minutes of that deranged carping. Who or what is that? An ABC presenter? Bad ham eh?

  21. Jazza

Hum–and 2013′s award for the silliest airhead goes to……… drum roll….Van Ignorance!

  22. A Lurker

At 0.34 seconds in my attention started wandering to the window at her shoulder and I thought, is that a tram, perhaps she’s in Melbourne, possibly in Bandt’s electorate? Then I noticed what looked to be a small St George cross on the far wall, and wondered briefly if she knew the St George Cross was used by English nationalists, and then concluded that it seemed unlikely. At 0.51 seconds in my attention gave up completely and I clicked stop on the video, figuring that I had better things to do with my time – such as cleaning out my cat’s litter tray. I have no idea what she had to say for the rest of the time, but what I do know is that my life would not have been improved by the hearing of it.

  23. carfax

    Goodness!

    Van Bam thank you Mam?

  24. Mark

    BAHAHAHAHAHAHA

    I loved it.

If it had ponys and unicorns in it I would definitely watch again.

  25. struth

I wasn’t going to watch it, and then I only got through the first part where she declares she is humbly going to speak to the people, because things are so important. What I need to know is that now classifies as a “view” on you tube doesn’t it?

  26. johno

Given the election result and the Left’s brain explosions all over the place, this is very funny.

She is just so utterly pathetic. The end product of watching toooo much ABC and SBS. So completely devoid of any understanding of the world she lives it.

  27. C.L.

If she had this YouTuber’s talents I would have watched the whole thing:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tJle3mAKxzs

  28. Tom

Just another production line, far left spoiled brat like most of the female staff at ShakeMyHead.com:

While a student she began to publish poetry and short fiction as well as write student dramas. At university, her growing political awareness flowered and she was drawn into involvement with student politics and left-wing activism, and she was elected editor of the Wollongong University Student Representative Council newspaper, Tertangala. By 1998, Badham was an avowed anarchist and President of the New South Wales branch of the National Union of Students, caucusing with radical group the Non Aligned Left.

Van Badham’s plays are typically concerned with the legacy of personal and political violence, critiques of Western consumer capitalism, dichotomies of middle- and working-class values, the social roles assigned to women and the relationship of art to history.

  29. Cato the Elder

She “works” for the Guardian. She melted down on twitter when Wilson was appointed to the HRC and was publicly mocked by Blair and the Oz (they republished her tweets – Oh the humanity!)

Check out Blair for the hilarity

  30. calli

Got to 2:46 and changed channels. She sounds just like my sister in law. As I will be seeing and listening to her on Boxing Day waxing lyrical on all lefty talking points, I didn’t want to endure a stereo experience.

Funny though…when I switched the off button, I realised that the on switch looked just like a big red clown nose…in the middle of Badham’s dial.

  31. cohenite

[That was a very funny joke, but a tad inappropriate. Sinc]

    Well, she was dog-whistling.

  32. JohnA

I agree with Milton and JMH. The best LOL I have had for a while.

Could almost qualify for a Goon Show Cabinet speech!

[Grytppype-Thynne] Thank you for your Cabinet-meeting rhubarbs, gentlemen.

  33. Anthony

Gee, is she Van Rudd’s sister, partner, or what? What can you do to save Australia from TA? Well, you can tweet, post on facebook and abuse people at the polling booth. Didn’t work very well – the only person she seemed to influence is Hugh White.

  34. tomix

She’s a Fraser Liberal- Hard to discern her position on bombing Syria [3:42], but whatever Abbott

    decides- he’s wrong.

    A vote for the Sex/Pirate Parties is a vote for Green/ALP [5:17]

  35. KevFromCanberra

Is this bitter and insulting person talking about the Tony Abbott who takes opposition members with him on trips, who places left leaning females into pseudo roles as Woman’s Commissioners, who has a happy family life with a wife and daughters who appear to love him, who gives up his spare time to fight forest fires or save lives in the surf. The man who people say that the more you know him the more you like him. That can’t be possible. She is just spewing our meaningless hate filled bile in a tedious rant. This woman is either clinically insane or else she is living in an alternative universe to the world that I inhabit. Maybe both?

  36. Anthony

When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things.
Would appear she doesn’t read the same books as me!

  37. WhaleHunt Fun

When I was a child I was so effing obnoxious, even then, that my father threw food that I made, down on the floor rather than risk putting it near his mouth.
When I grew up I put away childish things and now I poison the minds of the wider community.

There is arrogance. There is cretinous stupidity.
    But this one has both.

She actually believes that I would permit the lowlife filth of her ilk to have a conversation with me.

Thanks, but I’ll keep my piss for when someone useful is on fire.

  38. barry

You could tell right from the start that she would be on the verge of tears at some point.

  39. Carpe Jugulum

Can someone please giver her a valium, cup of tea, pillow & blankie.

  40. Toiling Mass

Van Badham’s plays are typically concerned with the legacy of personal and political violence, critiques of Western consumer capitalism, dichotomies of middle- and working-class values, the social roles assigned to women and the relationship of art to history.

    Oh. My. God.

  41. Toiling Mass

I am not surprised her father ‘chucked a toastie’ when he lost his job.

Imagine having that child, self-pleasuring with images of her own compassion, laying a hand on your arm and gently trying to persuade you that you are a victim, and that it is not in your power to change it because you are a victim.

  42. Carpe Jugulum

Heh, just e few hours later.

    BBBBWWWWAAAAAahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

  43. Pedro the Ignorant

I would have loved to have been at this silly bint’s election night party.

My output of gloating and schadenfreude would have been a meter deep.

  44. 'S

Yeah, the blair posts were awesome. A fragile thing, her twitter posts mentioned her crying. A single appointment onto a stacked HRC.

Had no idea about Tim Wilson. The term get over yourself is so apt.

  45. Sincerity is not a test of truth. We must not make this mistake – “He must be right; he’s so sincere” – because, it is possible to be sincerely wrong. We can only judge truth by truth and sincerity by sincerity. — Jim Rohn

  46. Yon Toad

The woman is obviously a goose but it is good to know that she decided to SAY something in WORDS rather than WRITE something in WRITING.

  47. gabrianga

Perhaps this helps explain where the “famous” Guardian scribbler, Van Badham, is coming from ?

At university, her growing political awareness flowered and she was drawn into involvement with student politics and left-wing activism, and she was elected editor of the Wollongong University Student Representative Council newspaper, Tertangala.

By 1998, Badham was an avowed anarchist and President of the New South Wales branch of the National Union of Students, caucusing with radical group the Non Aligned Left.

A natural to join Lenore and crew at the Guardian?

  48. I was going to ask CL if it was mortal or venial sin…

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caucusing

Caucusing is the practice where a portion of the membership of a voting body agrees to vote as a bloc, even though some members of the caucus might be inclined to vote the other way.

Top of the class at Wollongong University – Branch Stacking 101.

  49. Jo Smyth

So pleased the vast majority couldn’t give a butcher’s cut about her opinions either then or now.

  50. Megan

Brain the size of a pea. She’s progressive all right. Progressing right back to the primal swamp.

  51. Megan

And how dare she assume I want to be part of a collective? Especially one she’s a part of. Or Numbers et al.

  52. Oh come on

Imagine if you encountered that ranting madwoman coming at you at your local polling station. Pepper spray sure would come in handy.

  53. Oh come on

The followup’s better. You really get to see the depths of her confusion there. How do you like this line of logic – Murdoch decides who wins government in Australia but the NBN is going to ruin Murdoch’s business model so Murdoch ensured an Abbott victory to stop the NBN from destroying his global media empire. Happily, the left controls social media.

  54. Percy

Shows how good Murdoch is at reading public sentiment, hence his success in the media business.

  55. Read her wiki bio, quoted here, independently, earlier today. My guess is she wrote it herself (though, if sentences like this are any indication, I certainly hope she didn’t….):

The influence of her upbringing was evident in work presented to her teachers at school. Badham’s first script was a second grade assignment to write up the class Nativity Play, which she duly set in the beer garden of a public house with Mary and Joseph ejected by a manager for failing to meet dress regulations.[3]

  56. .

“I always swore I’d never do one of these”

“If you are seeing me now, it means that I have been murdered”

Without the ALP, there is no health insurance or childcare.

Yeah…the Liberals are far right. So Turnbull nearly became leader.

They used Windows to “hack” facebook.

Look love, facebook is one giant fucking hack.

“I’m not over good looking women”

    No shit, it’s called envy.

    Constant barbs agains Gillard!

    Non existent cuts…that cut!

War against Taliban and al Qaida in Afghanistan is bad!

Abbott is a threat to world peace!

“In a democracy we have a weapon called a ballot box!”

We can’t be frightened, but we can freak out.

Gillard and socialism can secure continuing prosperity.

    Harrass voters as they vote!

“I’m not a member of a a political party” – no, because you are so far left, you don’t belong in the Greens.

    —————————————————————————————————————–

You should have watched the whole thing. It was wonderful watching her implode.

  57. dan

There are people who think that their health and children’s welfare etc etc etc all depend on the government somehow. Believe it or not people can actually arrange these things for themselves.

    Quonda
    LOL
    Windows Facebook??

  58. dan

“things are down to the wire”
    democracy is threatened
    disaster for the world

    “what can we do”?
    Why, Tweet!

  59. Danzig_Misfit

Like all good outspoken lefties, she thinks she will be sitting at the head of the table in the new socialist paradise.

  60. IQSRLOW

Does “now freelance” mean “I was sacked because my extremist dribble is too far left for even the Guardian”?

@rosepowell YES. And I am now FREELANCE so have FREELANXLCE HOURS OMG.

  61. Blogstrop

Is she now respecting the Ballot Box? No, she’s still being part of the deranged left media that has nearly ruined this country. Fisk doctrine now!

  62. kae

Where does she get her information from?

She would be a low information voter, ah, no. Make that no facts voter.

  63. Bigpeteoz

    Ho, ho, effing ho.
Another elite “progressive” stuck in the past, unable to see the future, unable to change tack.
A believer of enforced mores and no way can anyone think differently.
She is on the gravy train of disaster, evolution will overtake her and leave a burnt shell, smouldering in the ruins of socialistic heaven.

  64. Robbo

Badham, whoever the hell she is, is a total wanker and so blinded by her left wing bias that she doesn’t recognise she is out of step with the aspirations of most Australians. Consider the core of her message. “I don’t care who you vote for, I don’t care who runs the government, I just hate the Liberals so much I would prefer to see the election of anyone else no matter that they might be corrupt, incompetent and dangerous” What a moron.

  65. James of the Glen

Robbo, it makes them feel important. And of course, instant street cred among her fellow unwashed. A common thread for the type to which poor little Vanessa belongs is recent ancestry from the bog. Vengeance is mine, says Vanessa, but silly Vanny couldn’t organise the proverbial.

Anyway, I hope she is enjoying a wonderful Christmas Day. Scowling.

  66. Makka

“Robbo, it makes them feel important”

Excellent point James. The age of seeming where your earnestness and compassion can be recorded, shared and replayed ad- nauseam , a self tribute to your obvious higher values. Which these Lefturd totalitarian cretins are only to willing to impose on everyone – to the extent of curtailing freedom of speech and the press.

The good news is Van’s head will explode so many times over the coming years, it will lookmeeting a like a melon meeting a blender . No doubt she will be kept awake at nights , grieving for the taxpayer dollars Socialist parasites like her will now find unavailable. I can only imagine how upset she must be with all the Green and various commission cutting underway. She no doubt is apoplectic at the prospect of Tim’s appointment to the HRC.

  67. Oh come on

Labor’s provided her with so much largesse, picked fresh from the money tree*, such as the MurdocKKK-slaying NBN. Yet she still votes Green. How ungrateful!

*see ‘phoney debt crisis’ – leftists like Van are so much smarter than us because they’ve figured out where the money comes from and know we can spend indefinitely)

  68. Wayneofperth

The “Collective”! Comrade we never refer openly to the Collective.

  69. Michel Lasouris

Van Badham….never heard of her before. I can only agree with the considered verdict of the Catallaxians here. Why would anyone listen to that?
Mind you, I hope she doesn’t read this truthful and accurate response to her…effort. If she did, I’m certain she would run outside and throw herself under the nearest (moving ) bus

  70. And she apparently checks her Wiki entry even on Christmas day to edit out any mods with which she disagrees.

  71. Oh come on

And she apparently checks her Wiki entry even on Christmas day to edit out any mods with which she disagrees.

Well, duh. She has arts grants to compete for a career to promote, y’know.

  72. blogstrop

If she did, I’m certain she would run outside and throw herself under the nearest (moving ) bus

No, I don’t think so. She is a Guardianista, which means never having to say you’re sorry, or even change course.

  73. Notafan

Now you need to run along and check her twitter feed , only 70,000 plus tweets. Don’t worry, you only need to read a few to get the idea. I didn’t even bother with facebook. She actually states at one point that she has a superior vocabulary and intellect. It’s pretty hopeless for poor Badham, despite her, also superior, influencing skills , we were all too dumb and brainwashed to see the disasters that awaited us if we voted LNP.
We are now just another failed state like Somalia, Abbott is Bashir’s evil twins yadda, yadda, yadda.
Please Mr Abbott; no more arts grants for Ms Badham, put her in a nice fibro housing commission place in Broadmeadows and let her share her superior language skills with those decent hardworking refugees she cares so much about.

  74. Chuckles McChuck

This lady needs help. BADLY. Van Badham boom BADLY. I’m gonna put a donation box outside the Guardian Oz office with her name on it and all of you can chuck in whatever you think is appropriate. To start with, I’ll tip in a season pass at Bellvue in NY.
