A reminder to lovers of reason

I don’t know why this is news to anyone – Bolt Report back – and bigger – but it has not gone unremarked amongst those who somehow find this displeasing. From Andrew Bolt:

The Twitterverse has exploded in rage, but I trust lovers of reason won’t be displeased:

NEWS Corp Australia columnist Andrew Bolt is being given more airtime with his Network Ten show to double in length to one hour when it returns on March 2.

The new-look The Bolt Report will include a new segment, called News Watch, which promises “to put the media under genuine scrutiny”.

The fun starts at 10am and 4pm on Sunday, March 2.

I believe this is meant to be a complaint, but I shall treat it as a request:

gerard mcdermott on bolt

Among the guests for the first show: Peter Costello, Michael Costa and Gerard Henderson. We have invited Bill Shorten to come on the show on the very near future, of course, and hope the old Labor ban is lifted. I did think it counter-productive.

Excellent. BoltA is not exactly a natural on TV – he always seems anxious and on caffeinated drinks – but he has improved with practice, as most of us do.

  2. stackja

Bolt is annoying all the right people.

expect half hour of bagging ABC and Fairfax for leftie bias

Rubbish. I expect a full 60 minutes; anything less and Bolt is derelict in his duty.

  4. rickw

“expect half hour of bagging ABC and Fairfax for leftie bias” – complete with facts to support the assertion.

  5. And Another Thing

Ah, there’s nothing quite like the smell of leftards simmering in t,he morning.

  6. Stephen of Glasshouse

Twitter should be used in a rapier like fashion, not carpet bombing the c word.
Why is it that the progressive left ( feminists all so I’ve been told ) default to that word at the merest provocation?

  7. Carpe Jugulum

I love the sound of leftista heads exploding in the morning.

    It sounds like – Victory.

  8. danno

He could do a MediaWatch, Watch that would be fun

I heard some leftie the other day mention the twitterverse was all lit up about something or other and realised, they think that represents all opinion

Nah, an hour going through Thommo’s Corporate credit card statements – once a month.
That ought to keep an entertaining timeslot for about a year.

  10. Ant

I found half an hour tolerable. An hour I’m not so sure. If he lost the razzmatazz lead in music, fixed the lighting so that it didn’t cast shadows below his brow and broadened the panel guest list a bit, I’d like the program more.

It would help if he could find more Labor types who are prepared to rat on their stinking party coz, let’s face it, there’s lots to rat on.

    But what would I know.

  11. Toiling Mass

He should be able to loosen his grip on his panelists – he always seems to be needing to control it too much, I always assumed it was time constraints.

  12. Anne

He should do regular segments – “Stifling Freedom of Speech Watch”! and “Imbalance in the Media Watch”!

  13. James of the Glen

    Further to Anne’s suggestion :

” The new-look The Bolt Report will include a new segment, called News Watch, which promises “to put the media under genuine scrutiny”.

Andrew needs a little Nancy-like mascot for the segment; a Jack Russell perhaps, with a ready ability to curl its lip and growl when it hears “ABC” or “Jones” or “Scott” or “Shorten” or “Gillard” or “Barry” or “AWU” et alia ad infinitum..

an earnest abc leftie had one of her mates on regional abc radio a while back, when the lefties were raging to have bolt banned from the abc. fiona parker declared that there were ‘abc life values’ and that abc people were insulted when they had to hear people on the abc that did not share the same values.the leftie mate agreed that truth was being spoken from the heart. another abc radio warrior cut short any mention of bolt with the stern warning ‘we deprive him of oxygen here’.

Why is it that the progressive left ( feminists all so I’ve been told ) default to that word at the merest provocation?

Limited vocabulary due to limited thought processing power.

  16. Menai Pete

The content of his show is irrelevant. I really love the fact that his mere presence on the air can send the leftwits into apoplexy.

And I’m insulted that they take my money. Let’s just part ways, they take their ABC and the rest of us take back our money. All square then.

Dare I ask if this is the feminist equivalent of the relocation of male brains joke?

  20. “Why is it that the progressive left ( feminists all so I’ve been told ) default to that word at the merest provocation?”

That is what happens when you sacrifice intellect for ideology, feminism is a quasi-religion, verging on the occult, it demands absolute adherence which leads to the denial of thought, which explains why it is so popular amongst those on the left, they’d already given up thinking…

    hammy wrong again.

Sad hammy. Hammy must not force himself to watch it and he will be bored.
