    Brilliant!

Damn his foolish love of Gaia.

  2. ar

Shorten has his Misogyny Speech moment when he rose to defend Conroy’s ugly comments…

  3. candy

I thought he looked childish and attention seeking.

Conroy was disgusting but the focus should be about the problems facing the government, and now with Qantas, and government doesn’t want to look petty and silly on side issues no matter how horrid Conroy is.

  4. steve

the only thing that could have improved Turnbull’s speech would have been if he had made it with a pair or red underpants on his head

  5. Rabz

I’m no fan of Squire Turnbull but that was mildly amusing.

Although given what a dunderhead the nuclear milkman is, he’ll no doubt be quite flattered by the comparison.

  6. The elderly Senator Palpatine from Naboo entertains the Galactic Senate – and this passes as evidence by the MSM of his ability to lead the nation?

  7. Gab

Anyone else notice the penchant for quoting from movies that Labor politicians often do? Are they that dumb they can’t come up with their own words?

  8. H B Bear

In any other organization, Conroy would be a laughing stock.

In the ALP he is the Shadow Minister for Defense.

  9. Mick Gold Coast QLD

    From Rabz at 4:20 pm:

“I’m no fan of Squire Turnbull but that was mildly amusing.”

I expected something “brilliant” when I saw Comrade Stumbull’s performance described in the Open Forum and here as “brilliant”.

It was merely “mildly amusing”. People are easily pleased.

  10. Ubique

Conroy’s not fit to dig a latrine for the ADF.

  11. gabrianga

Can’t wait for the Oz-Car sketch. Should be (or was) a real knock out for Lord Wentworth.

  12. Mk50 of Brisbane, Henchman to the VRWC

Been told by a couple of former-SOF persons today that they’d just love 20 seconds alone with Mr Conroy. (NADT) There were references to ‘eating corn on the cob with no teeth’. I’m guessing they are Blues Brothers aficionados.

    :)

Conroy’s made a lot of vets and currents extremely angry.

I do not like Turnbull – and then he turns on a wonderful performance like that. You cannot underestimate the impact that level of brutal mockery has on the ALP. Nothing eviscerates them more than being laughed at. And his mockery there was savage.

  13. Andore Jr.

    Was a bit overly theatrical.

Is it just me or is the government sorely in need of a commanding voice in question time? Someone with a bit of throat, bit of a deeper, resounding voice with some grunt and balls to it.

When Abbott and Hockey get revved up they go all high-pitched. Ditto obviously for Julie Bishop and one of the other female ministers (can’t remember which one but she sounds truly terrible when on the attack). Joyce, Turnbull as well.

    And Ian McDonald. Well.

The only frontrunner I can think of is Truss at this point.
Even Costello had a good death growl when he needed to.

  14. Pickles

    Yes Son.
    I want to kill you.

  15. David Black

I like the way the two hotties behind Turnbull are pissing themselves laughing, unlike the dopey Nod Squad of the previous government. Can anyone say who they are?
Not many know that Malcolm Turnbull’s middle name is Bligh, a fmily tradition going back to the family’s friendship with much-maligned Governor William Bligh.

  16. Myrddin Seren

Very droll and indeed worthy of the applause from the government benches at the finish of the sketch.

Let us not forget that billions of taxpayer dollars was squandered on a plan Conroy drew up on the back of a drinks napkin.

And to date I recall seeing only one report about the excessive ‘consultancy fees’ NBN Co paid out under previous government and management.

Will we ever see an inquiry in to NBN Co’s procurement processes and money trails to Labor Maaates Inc, the unions and goodness knows who else of Conroy’s congo line of bottom feeders ?

  17. Someone with a bit of throat

    Ian Macfarlane?

  18. Overly theatrical definitely, but question time in the house is definitely the time and place for that sort of thing.

He got our attention didn’t he?

  19. Myrddin Seren

I think the fetching young lady sitting over Malcolm’s left shoulder is

    Karen McNamara

who is the new member for Dobell, replacing Shagger Thomson

I note this rich irony from Mrs McNamara’s biography ( for Mrs McNamara she is ), her last role prior to replacing the Shagmeister was

    Fraud investigations manager 2010-13.

  20. Fisky

Meh. Too over the top. William Hague did a better job –

  21. Joe Goodacre

The collective bill of all those MP’s must be nearly $100k and hour.

Those snappy 3 mins probably cost us $5,000.

Sure it looks good on Turnbull’s youtube channel but what’s the point of it? He’s just rebuked Conroy for pointless put downs by adding in his own.

  22. .

This was brilliant. Sent to the usual suspects.

  23. Infidel Tiger

    Meh. Too over the top.

Shut up Fisk. You get tumescent watching Turnbull. You are still longing for him to assume his rightful place on the throne.

  24. David Black

Thanks Myrrdin 7. Mrs Macnamara has a real work experience background behind her – another point of contrast to the ALP fishwives. The electors of Dobell must be delighted.

  25. JMH

    Father?
    Yes Son.
    I want to kill you.

Pickles, your post didn’t go over my head.

    The End.

  26. Turnbull has been too gentlemany towards Conroy, not highlighting the NBN disaster seriously enough.

Sure he goes through a lot of technical stuff, but there was not enough cut through.

There are many trolls who are die hard Conroy fans. Their point is simply – “money is no problem, we don’t want second best”.

The public needs to know – “the original NBN is a disaster. We will fix Labor’s mess.”

Well put, and Shorten’s effort today will likewise be unhelpful in winning and keeping public support where he needs it – his reply was preaching to the converted (some of them, anyway), and the looks on the faces behind him were interesting in that regard.

I thought Turnbull’s Onoda speech yesterday was somewhat more effective – it was fresher, more genuinely amusing, and less ostentatiously histrionic than today’s effort, which fell a little flat towards the end. The Government should be taking a dignified “more in sorrow, than in anger” line on this – leave the overblown Students’ Representative Council performances to Labor.

  28. Fisky

Shut up Fisk. You get tumescent watching Turnbull. You are still longing for him to assume his rightful place on the throne.

No, you have not familiarised yourself with the latest minutes from the Fiskian International’s Central Politburo. Turnbull has been rightly denounced as a social fascist and we are now firmly in favour of a Morrisonian coup d’etat.

I would like to make a small addition to that: other people’s “money is no problem, we don’t want second best” – they’re trying to socialize the costs of a big shiny, sexy thing that they want.

  30. Infidel Tiger

The Government should be taking a dignified “more in sorrow, than in anger” line on this – leave the overblown Students’ Representative Council performances to Labor.

The movie references probably had the ALP scratching their heads. The only films those degenerates watch are Barely Legal 3, Where The Boy Aren’t and Hard Amateur Anal 7.

  31. Rebel with cause

For an additional laugh he could have thrown in that the NBN has so far cost $6bn for 7% of the rollout. At that rate, it will cost $80bn for the whole network.

I thought it was $7b for 3%, that makes it $233.33333b all up.

  34. boy on a bike

That was good. I’ll pay that.

  35. steve

has anyone notice the similarities between Andrew Dimetriou and Stephen Conroy’s way of thinking?

not sure who I am insulting more

But … but … but the Politburo’s Minutes Non Expungement Directive reveals:

“My own reservations about Turnbull are about effective leadership, rather than policy. I’m still on the fence about his ability to spar Labor properly. But as a gay-marriage supporting LINO, he’s obviously more my type than Abbott.” One Fisky, posted on July 19, 2013 at 8:57 pm

So you have found something hitherto undisclosed about the Morrisons and their position on poofs and dykes?

  37. Fisky

Morrison comes from the moderate wing of the party, like Phillip Ruddock, and is thus well-suited to advancing the revolution.

With all due respect I’d rather see the impact of a very long custodial sentence. The Gelding and his Eunuchs had better deliver on their promise. Not all of us are satisfied by bread and circuses

But the obtuse fucker still controls half of the pre-selections in Victoria, which is why no-one will tip him out.
Mind you, it would be hilarious to be a fly on the wall this evening as Red Underpants approaches a group of ALP colleagues sharing a joke in the dining room …. only to have them fall into an uncomfortable silence and disperse upon his arrival.
He will be fucking seething over his belting and the faint defence mounted in the Lower House.

  42. JC

Yea I know, it’s hard to believe, but I find Conroy more despicable than anyone in the liars party including The slapper, earwax eater and Shane Wand.

  43. DrBeauGan

It wasn’t all that good and it won’t change any minds. There is so much to nail conroy for and that didn’t do it. Turnbull is wet.

  44. Mk50 of Brisbane, Henchman to the VRWC

    Grigory:

With all due respect I’d rather see the impact of a very long custodial sentence.

You are much, much kinder than they deserve, Grigory. A few historical types of my acquaintance kicked this around and suggested that mere worthless incompetent union hacks like Conroy? Gibbett them alive and unharmed in an iron cage. They will live as long as people give them food and water.

Murderous incompetents like Tubbsy, Rimmer, the Slapper and Snake-Eyes Heifer-Bong etc – those responsible for thousands of deaths at sea?

perhaps securing them naked in the tropical sun just below the highest tide mark a few days before the King tide might be appropriate. See how they like drowning by inches. Of course, sun-caused burns might get them first.

But Emily’s Listers – only one choice they had. Crucifixion and not by the merciful expedient of nailing them to it. Oh no, tie them to it.

They suffer many times as much, over a longer period. The Romans knew this.

And those acquaintances are quiet, harmless, bookish types normally.

  45. CatAttack

I have spoken to a number of Gen Y at work regarding the NBN and they are invariably of the we don’t care how much it costs we want the Best school of thought.

This message has cut through. Which is why the social media campaigns which are short o detail but high on emotion cannot be ignored.

  46. rafiki

Yes, it was only mildly amusing to oldies such as myself; (and anything that ridicules Conroy is to be praised).

But Turnbull is to my observation the only senior Liberal who ‘cuts through’ to the ‘younger demographic’ . The Coalition need him upfront and taking on the Labor/Green alliance. I hope he gets onto the hustings in the coming WA Senate election. It would be disastrous were the LNP not be able to avoid Labor/Green blocking post July, and the less they have to rely on the others the better. So I am happy to see him getting stuck in.

  47. Alfonso

Malcolm is a corporatist socialist banker….not an uncommon lifestyle choice.

But this CAGWarming supplicant did get deep sixed when the Liberal rank and file revolted in an overwhelming avalanche by phone / email and sms.
    How quickly we forget….
    Nothing’s changed.
Mercury filled Soviet morgue low glow lightbulbs anyone?

  48. candy

Still think it self indulgent nonsense at a time when serious problems beset Australia, but Malcolm Turnbull can get away with it, being a LINO, but it makes the government look like they’re playing charades or something in parliament and not coming to grips with the real issues.

  49. Armadillo

There may be a bit amusement value here. It might even get a few hits on U-Tube. It might even make a 20 second grab on the TV. But when are they going to explain what a potential 223 Billion Dollar NBN actually means to taxpayers in REAL terms? It’s The Parliament, not The Project.

  50. Armadillo #1205330, posted on February 26, 2014 at 7:31 pm

It’s The Parliament, not The Project.

    Well said!

  51. Infidel Tiger

Well look, he probably should have got to the despatch box and called Conroy a urine stained, cocky gobbling, Limey cnut, but we can’t all be Shakespeare.

  52. Notafan

Seemed too in house jokey to me and lacking a strong punchline for the general population, good opportunity to underscore the wastage and poor uptake that we know about, those that need to find out the new and shiny isn’t, aren’t.

  53. Aristogeiton

Here’s Hague’s speech to the 1977 Conservative Party conference:

    http://free-english-people.blogspot.com.au/2010/10/william-hagues-1977-conservative.html

    Brilliant!

  54. johanna

I hadn’t realised that Conroy had accused the Zigster of lying as well during that hearing.

Ziggy is one of the most ethical people I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with.

It’s a ludicrous allegation, especially coming from someone whose own reputation for honesty is not exactly spotless. What a lowlife, despicable creep he is.

I don’t know Stiwkowski but I do know Campbell, and he is as straight as an arrow

  56. johanna

Yes Grigory, that seems to be the consensus from people who know him. So Conroy, from his privileged and protected position as a Senator, accused two honest individuals of lying.

Looks like Conroy was just projecting.

  57. jupes

Sure it looks good on Turnbull’s youtube channel but what’s the point of it?

    Ridicule.

As Mk50 points out above, it is a superb weapon to use against lefty incompetents. It makes parliament more interesting for one thing but best of all, they don’t like it. Not a bit.

  58. cynical1

Apart from the personality of a brick, Conroy always looks like he has health problems.

Dandruff, ingrowing toenails, boils, BO and that sort of thing.

    He just looks damp..

  59. Turtle of WA

You’re right Gab, but quoting from literature is good too. The left don’t believe in ‘Literature’, or admit that some books are better than others and a few are the best. At least an Apocalypse Now quote draws some links with a good book and a good poem. Not that I am much of a Turncoat fan. We don’t need another Malcolm.

  60. Splatacrobat

Dandruff, ingrowing toenails, boils, BO and that sort of thing.

Classic symptoms of radiation poisoning IMHO. Get a lawyer milkboy I think you have an actionable case.

  61. Gab

    You’re right Gab,

I never tire of hearing that. :)

  62. johanna

I know a few people who work in the Comms Department, and their joy was unconfined when they found out he was no longer their Minister. He and his staff were rude, capricious and ignorant.

He is a good golfer though – turned up for the Departmental Golf Day and won fair and square. How a senior Cabinet Minister finds the time to perfect his swing is one of life’s little mysteries …

  63. Pedro the Ignorant

. .. . Cabinet Minister finds the time to perfect his swing is one of life’s little mysteries

Obama lurves him some (!) golf, as well.

Both the US and Australia are better off while this pair of oxygen thieves are wasting time hitting little white balls around the countryside.

  64. Really deplorable union thug stuff from Conroy. He even laughed and snorted when asked to apologise for accusing the general of participating in a political coverup. Labor principles have really gone downhill since a desperate Gillard clung to power at any cost. They were an awful, awful government and Conroy was right in the middle of its worst disasters: the NBN white elephant, his attempted laws aimed at muzzling particularly the Murdoch media for being critical of Labor and finally, his insane power trip trying to sell digital spectrum. He is now totally pi$$#d together with Labor (and their mates the Greens, the ABC and Fairfax) who are beside themselves that this coalition government has stopped the boats, something Labor found impossible to achieve.

  65. C.L.

Yea I know, it’s hard to believe, but I find Conroy more despicable than anyone in the liars party including The slapper, earwax eater and Shane Wand.

It’s a big call but the case can be made.

  66. Infidel Tiger

I’ve always considered Roxon the most despicable woman in Australian history. Conroy comes close.

  67. JC

I’ve always considered Roxon the most despicable woman in Australian history. Conroy comes close.

Oh come on. Roxon was just your regular liar party fascist. What about the screeching Anna Bourke? Tubbsie Milne? Adam Bandt?

’ve always considered Roxon the most despicable woman in Australian history. Conroy comes close.

Oh come on. Roxon was just your regular liar party fascist. What about the screeching Anna Bourke? Tubbsie Milne? Adam Bandt?

Perhaps it would be more efficient just to list the ones that are not despicable cnuts. ( A word I don’t like nor use but seems apt when talking about Labor and their Greenfilth coalition).

  69. Gab

What? You don’t like efficiency drives now, Sinclair?

  70. Infidel Tiger

I’m shocked Gab. Save the sailor talk for your next fight at a shoe sale please.

    Gary Gray is decent.

  71. Leo G

A strange argument about Conroy. Who is arguing that he comes close to considering Roxon as the most despicable woman in Australian history and who is arguing that he is a despicable woman?
