Firstly, it is illogical and intellectually dishonest to treat women as if we are one homogenous group with a single set of characteristics to identify us. (The fact that Miranda Devine and I both exist is proof enough of that.) This achieves nothing more than reinforcing the belief that women are ‘other’ while men (particularly the white ones) are the norm, entitled to the privilege of diversity and individual treatment. Women are not a special interest group that can be singularly represented by one person. Newsflash: no minority is.

23,130,931. Therefore females comprise 50.2 per cent of the total resident population. A minority they are not.
