Out of the mouths of children

I suppose there’s a reason for such juvenile arguments from a ten year old, but what excuse is there for the others? Yet these are not juvenile arguments but force-fed anti-capitalist, anti-growth, anti-common-sense sentiments that would never cross the mind of a ten year old. Even the slightest notion of where the clothes she wears, the food she eats, the heating for her home, the electricity that runs her TV, where any of these come from and what is required to bring them to her doorstep would be a start. But given the adults who surround her, what chance is there that she will find out herself? I tried to think of it as funny but I’m not in the mood. It is just part of that massive juggernaut of ignorance that I no longer think we can defend ourselves against.

The ACT curriculum is absolutely Green and Boat people propaganda writ large. My daughter opted out of a ‘refugee’ immersion experience where the kids were put in a detention centre where they were given minimal food, shelter and were dehumanised by being referred to as numbers and people didn’t speak to them in English. This, they were told is what Australian detention centres are like. Filthy lying propaganda is all it is.

A mate of mine moved to a property near Mullumbimby years ago, on a visit, he was picking beans in the garden with his daughters.

One of them asked me if I had ever had beans without poison on them. Poor little thing.

Jeff Kennett challenged some protesters years ago who had armed their kids with signs and slogans, couple of questions to the kids, it all fell apart

  3. JC

The kid’s an idiot. The parents ought to be ashamed of the bilge they are force feeding the little twit.

  4. caveman

I was only thinking of those children in the year 7013, they would be one year older now, they probably slaves.

  5. JC

    caveman

What ancient language are you writing in?

  6. JC

    EVERYTHING IS CHEMICALS!

Wifey is a little like that, the poor sap. I ruined her world when I told her that a recent study of fruits and vegies showed there should no concern with da chemicals. The reason they need to be washed is because of bacteria like ecoli. She refused to believe it. Sometimes there is no getting through to people.

  7. Rabz

Where’s bloody DoCS when you need them?!?

  8. Diogenes

And thats why we have started to use the “Ingredients of an All-Natural Banana” posters (you can google it) in the chemistry classes at school, and in my classes where I talk about MDSs I use the MDS for that horrible corrosive Dihydhrogen Monoxide.

They have opened more than a few eyes.

Chin up Steve – the cause of liberalism is on the up compared to what it was during the recent Labor years. This is one daughter of a bunch of greenie parents – not really indicative of the larger picture. The culture wars are a marathon, not a sprint.

Steve, I’ve got a great piece on the US becoming less energy intensive from a economist I subscribe to.
    All due to market forces.
If you get my email from the moderator, I’ll send it through.

  11. Infidel Tiger

The parents have drilled her well in loser studies.

Wonder if she can do her 11 times table or spell?

  12. ar

This is the most powerful message from a child since Krudd read out Little Gracie’s letter at Copenfloppen…

  14. Rob

My grand-daughter was being force fed this stuff at primary school.
When I challenged her teacher one of us was speechless.
A few months later the indoctrination had started again.

  15. Ant

I’m afraid this poor girl has been subjected to intellectual child abuse and her abusers should be prosecuted.

  16. cohenite

Greens hate kids; they abuse them all the time. The 10:10 exploding heads video is probably the most infamous but this angry kid one is good. This one of the little girl hanging herself is perhaps my favourite.

  17. .

Bwahahaha…keep that angry kid for posterity.

“By the time I am an adult, there will be no fish in the ocean and ice caps will have melted”

    Hmm. In six years time.

    Sorry dickface, I’m your enemy.

Holy crap. That was seven years ago.

I’m guessing he’s about nineteen now. Oh the humanity, there is still fish in the ocean!

  18. calli

This one of the little girl hanging herself

Now that is a revealing insight into the mental stability of the warmies. Truly sick puppies.

  19. Ant

Mind you, this is little different to the propaganda/brainwashing/manipulation/abuse of the children featured in the union/Labor/criminal mafia ads currently being run on Melbourne TV against the Napthine government.

They are an absolute megaphone for the argument that government must be LIMITED as these seat-polishing, leeching bastards are never happy regardless of how much you pay them or how many paid days off they get or how many cushy little perks they can cram into their “remuneration”.

Most of it is raw, naked theft through confiscatory taxation or public debt.

Such a shame that the majority of drone-like morons who vote are completely indifferent to it.

  20. Anne

The most offensive thing about this is the REALLY bad acting.

Yoo Hoo, Cate…cry for help over here.

  21. H B Bear

Congratulations kid. You are today’s Helen Lovejoy Award winner.

How does that make you *feel* ?

  22. Nonsense.

Subjecting a child to scary stories, leading to them living in constant dread of a nameless, unstoppable terror which invades their every waking moment, is GOOD for them.

When I was little (well, littler than I am now), I was scared of the skeleton called Izzy who used to live in our passage cupboard. Izzy was invisible during the day, but at night he would come out and walk around the house.

Then in my early teens I moved on to nuclear war and the ensuing nuclear winter which was going to destroy the planet and poison the wells, etc.

I just wish I’d had a few more warnings about life’s actual terrors:

    - psycho boyfriends
    - bad drivers
    - mortgages
    - workplaces dominated by alcoholic and criminally stupid shrewish bullies
    - health insurance premiums
    etc.

    There. That’s eleven.

  24. Anne

She’s probably a pretty smart kid.

Sad she is being groomed to become a useless, finger wagging, unproductive slacktivist.

Send her down pit, make her work a coal seam like I did when I were a lad….

  26. Craig Mc

Whatever happened to Gracie? Is she on the dole yet?

  27. No, seriously, how is this kind of kidsploitation is any different from child beauty pageants in any part of the US?

It’s all ‘get my kid on TV or else’, when it comes down to it.

  28. Send her down pit, make her work a coal seam like I did when I were a lad….

Or introduce her to Izzy. It’s healthier.

  32. Mr Rusty

Sheesh haven’t these kids heard yet?
Animals produce vast quantities of greenhouse gasses and the Greens are planning to kill all the fluffy bunnies and koalas and pandas to prevent global warming.
And if that is not enough then they will ban Playstations and Xboxes.
And then all toys will be banned next along with Maccas, coke and lollies and movies (especially Disney and Pixar – something to do with too much energy used for CGI).
And after cars are banned all kids will have to walk to and from school everyday (where computers will also be banned).

  33. Talleyrand

Poor taste Rabz , child rapists are not something I would wish upon anyone, regardless of their parents’ politics.

  34. Probably best not to focus on this particular ad so much, hey, because it then puts us perilously close to the position of cranky old men arguing with babies.

Rather, criticise the kid’s parents for only teaching her one side of the story, and for letting her go on air, and criticise the Stop the Gaters for filming this ad and making children a political object.

  36. Rabz

    Poor taste

Tough titties. If that brat’s parents and their fellow ideological travellers had their way, millions of people, including millions of kiddies, would end up dead.

I know which I consider to be the greater obscenity.

  37. Gab

Bu but but …. the Left have been telling us we should try to understand pedophiles and not be harsh on them. Why even a father who raped his daughter got a suspended sentence becuase, like, he’s not all bad and stuff.

  39. That’s right, Gab. It’s a perfectly valid lifestyle choice, and who am I to impose my morality on anyone else?

Plus it gives kids a whole new range of things to be afraid of, which is clearly good for them and leads to increased publicity.

Or better yet, send their lecturers and tutors.

It’s not, it’s emotional incest, narcissism by proxy.

Wonder if dear Holly will be attending the School of Rebellion at this years Marxist Conference in Melbourne, for young people and children?

By coming to understand the world and recognising the need to change it, children and young people can challenge a ‘career’ centred education and become agents of change. Such agency opens a magical door to knowledge. This is what the School of Rebellion hopes for.

Who needs a ‘career centred education’ when you can grow-up and become an activist and an agent for change, suckling off the taxpayers purse.

Your parents have failed you. They are feeding you a philosophy that will ultimately result in your failure and unhappiness in life.

  45. Sally

The problem is based in law and government policy, ie with the Precautionary Principle. Since its birth back in 1992, it has been inexorably going feral, bloating itself by ingesting vast areas of human endeavour.

  46. GeorgeL

    Tragic.

Little child spewing out the rubbish force fed to her by her parents.

Looks like child abuse to me.

  47. 3d1k

The industry has to stop pussyfooting around. It is never going to win the debate playing docile. It needs an all out offensive taking the game to its turf , on its terms. Frankly get a sassier more appealing lass (rather than a Christine Milne of the future) and let rip – her parents have jobs, her grandparents farm as beautiful as ever, a truckie bought one of their pups and brings it back every visit… Get another cool kid to stand in front of a USA and tell of the massive investment in CSG taking place – emphasise the economic benefits, the technical and scientific skills required and how he’s confident Australia of today will leave a strong economy for the kids of tomorrow – opportunity for all. Make it upbeat, positive and uplifting. Drive the fear away.

  48. john constantine

so what sort of marks do schoolkids get that do not parrot back the fanaticsm of the education groupthink?. does australia have to open up pathways like the international bacclaurette[how do you spell it really?] does the internet let kids do subjects outside the educational gulag that gillard the ‘education prime minister’ left us?—and for gods sake, gillard has taken for herself hundreds of millions of dollars of australian taxpayers money to inflict this stuff on the worlds most vunerable kids…..will gillard give one cent to a non marxist, non warmist, non groupthink education system?.

  49. johanna

John C., the Baccalaureate is offered at both private and Government schools in the ACT (but not all of them). Trouble is, the stranglehold of credentialism means that the HSC is still by far the preferred pathway for most students. And the curriculum for that is, as we know, utterly polluted with political correctness at the expense of academic rigour.

  50. Splatacrobat

What she needs to understand is that the clothes on her back, the food she eats, the materials over her head that keep her warm and dry are totally reliant on availability of reliable energy sources like coal, oil, and gas.

I think she could have presented a better argument if her mother was in the background spinning wool off a fleece to make her a dress, whilst her father put the final touches on a wattle and daub hut.

  51. Splatacrobat

I worked with a guy many years ago who used to work at Mary Kathleen.
He had a T shirt with the slogan:
    Stop Uranium mining
Let the bastards freeze in the dark.

  52. nerblnob

they were told is what Australian detention centres are like.

You used to be able to visit Australian detention centres. I’ve been in Villawood. I guess PNG is a bit of a stretch though.

Smart kids generally rebel against their doctrinaire parents. I wouldn’t worry about this one too much. She probably end up a right wing nutter like Steve Kates :-)

  53. CatAttack

Sorry folks this is merely an admittedly extreme example of what passes for standard issue curriculum at most schools nowadays. Think Sustainability being woven into every subject area.

  54. Anne

What if she’s not that smart Nerblnob. What if she’s only smart enough to run a fish n chips shop or be a lawyer?

The more I look at this video the creepier it is. It feels more like prostituting one’s offspring than educating her.

Dance for the nice man Holly.

  55. Richard gray

It’s easy to see where these kids get fed such nonsense – at school.
My daughter, only a year older, is being taught Al Gore is a saint, Tony Abbott is evil for removing the Carbon Tax, Julia Gillard is the Virgin Mary of politics, and evil profit-raking western countries are despoiling poor third world countries with their wicked oil pollution.
It’s in the curriculum – she goes to a horrible expensive private school.
Our kids are brainwashed wi this stuff… I don’t know what to do to stop it.

  56. nerblnob

I think most people are repelled by parents using their kids to further political agendas so I doubt this will have any lasting impact beyond the already-committed.

  57. Crossie

Yes, he’s rather tedious flogging this horse every morning but at least it gets me out of bed quickly and off to work to earn money and pay taxes that the government will squander on the ABC and other such boondoggles.

  58. Lady Nilk, Iron Bogan

LOL @1.01 she mentions how her future is being destroyed, as are the futures of those who’ve not yet been born.

Is it cynical of me to point out that a lot of those unborn will probably be aborted anyway, so why worry?

  59. Mick Gold Coast QLD

    Errrr.

Li’l Gracie – do please describe in detail and explain a “aquifer” and when you are done I’ll have 5 written pages on a “shareholder.” Define and explain without using pictures … history, classes, role, importance – that sort of stuff. If you want to use the terms then you are obliged to demonstrate that you know what they mean.

After that you can clean the cat’s poo out of the kitty litter tray and dry the dishes – let’s see if you can manage that eh?

Agree completely. I found it a really unnerving. Brainwashing the North Koreans would be proud of…

  61. mizaris

Repellant, utterly repellant. I had to watch this twice. The first time, I had to stop it before I put a hole in my monitor. After a nice cup of Lady Grey, I tried it again. Same effect. This child’s parents need to be hung, drawn and quartered then burned alive. To brainwash and politicise a small child and then use them like this is absolutely criminal. The child is going to have a really nasty time when she actually enters the real world.

  62. J.H.

    LOL…. She isn’t a “Child”.

She is an actress reciting memorized lines written for her by a script writer. She was filmed in a set on location. The video was edited into a concise message, her image was enhanced and her voice manipulated to adjust its timbre and its tone.

She is a construct…. Think of her as Pinocchio. A wooden puppet pretending to be a child reading propaganda.

  68. johanna

The sandals with socks is the killer argument here. No child should be subjected to that.

It is a gateway to braiding, tofu and macrame. Next thing you know, they are listening to Alan Jones about energy extraction.

One thing that I can guarantee – not a single person at the forthcoming Friedman Conference in Sydney will be wearing sandals and socks. :)
