A president distracted

Our mission statement is “to educate, entertain and inform”. We’re not a scandal sheet or purveyors of tittle tattle and unsubstantiated rumour. But there does come a time when some things do cross the line between mere gossip and an understanding of the politics of our time. So with this cautionary note, there is this story that comes from Japan via the Daily Mail Online.

Japanese MP angry that Michelle didn’t join president on Tokyo trip makes extraordinary claim that Obama CHEATS and their looming divorce is ‘an open secret’

The chap who brought this up is obviously a loose cannon and not to be trusted, but these are the headings that come before the story. The fact that this is even being discussed is the very essence of a political issue.

Kazuyuki Hamada, a member of the upper house of Japan’s parliament, is miffed that Michelle Obama is staying home as her husband tours Japan

He claimed on his blog that a marital rift is responsible for the president’s stag trip to Tokyo

Mrs. and Mrs. Obama, he wrote, have already decided to divorce after he leaves office – a claim mirroring one in the National Enquirer

Hamada claims Michelle Obama knows her husband is cheating on her and using the Secret Service to hide the evidence

He wrote a 2009 ‘birther’ book titled ‘Who is Obama?’ that argued the president likely wasn’t born in the United States

And there is this as an inset piece: So, Michelle and Barack Obama: What IS the state of your union? Rumours their 21-year marriage has been racked by screaming rows, allegations of infidelity and a string of jealous fights

The American economy is going to the dogs and there are international tensions growing across the world, all of which require the undivided attention of a president. Such distractions, if they are real, are one more problem to add to all of the others that this presidency has brought with it. This is a truly depressing story.

    What the?

He’s a gay Muslim commie. Let’s focus on the issues.

Sounds like the Asia trip was another rip roaring Obama triumph. How many days before Putin gives Obama another nuclear wedgie?

Screw TMZ or Perez Hilton, I get my gossip and rumour from Steve Kates.

  4. Ubique

The Dems aren’t worried by Obama’s failure and humiliation. They could probably put up OJ Simpson as their next Presidential candidate and see him elected for two terms. Serving time in the big house should not be an obstacle to moving into the White House in modern America.

  5. I am the Walrus, koo koo k'choo

JFK sorted out the Cuban Missile Crisis without missing a beat of his regular rooting schedule.

Bill Clinton brought the US budget under control and similarly handled various international issues without feeling the need to compromise his libido.

These people tend to be able to do more than one thing at a time. Obama’s problem isn’t that he’s distracted, it’s that he and his team have no idea what they are dealing with.

The poor bastard seems to have landed a right harridan. But then again so did Lincoln, and it didn’t do his presidency any harm.

I see you’re keeping up the standards of this blog. Good stuff Kates.

In all the decades of being told that the USA is a sick society, the election twice of this guy, and all the accompanying lefty sicko symptoms (acorn, code pink, msm), has convinced me that it is indeed a sick society. The question is can it heal itself?

  8. Blogstrop

Consigliere – that’s a term for mafia boss’s adviser, right?

    The immorality of Socialists.

Gillard’s behaviour over there was all girly eyelash fluttering, roaming hands, and come-on body language.
    He didn’t seem to mind.
It wouldn’t surprise me at all if the allegations of infidelity were correct.
Just par for the Progressive course.

“These people”? The Magic Negro cannot be placed in the same company as JFK or Clinton for Pete’s sake!

Bill got it right years ago with his observation to the syphilitic carpetbagging slob who left Mary Jo to drown, Ted Kennedy, “A few years ago, this guy would have been getting us coffee,”

Reggie Love’s boy surely is using the wrong entrance to the White House, when he really ought to be driving the van around the back to collect the soiled laundry.

Scholars – objective scholars – in years to come will puzzle over how and why anyone anywhere considered the dope addled little fop intellectually capable of anything above that station.

The fact a japanese MP came out with such a claim…. is that evidence Obama hasn’t been offering enough support for Japan’s territory claims?

Might be a convenient (or contrived) reason for him to step down.

The even better picture in the series was the one where Michelle had made the big O shift seats so that Michelle was between him and the woman (can’t remember who she is sadly). The look on Obama’s face was priceless!

JFK sorted out the Cuban missile crisis?

The US put missiles into Turkey that could reach Moscow and funnily enough the Soviets responded. In addition, JFK had to be constrained by cooler and wiser heads in the US military. The movie was another piece of Progressive propaganda.

australian dear and great leaders hawkie, keato and the scrubber, they just kept a partner for the photo opportunities to buy a vote or two, and moved on afterwards.

once the GLBTCAPBPBM crowd [did i offend by missing someone?] get the country to realise that ‘i did nothing wrong’ by being polyamerous and splitting families with children up, for your own ego, then we can go back to the good old days of ‘droit de signour’ where the good and great get to poke anything, anywhere, anytime because they are just so much more important than the herd.

    Obama’s ‘Chicago Way’ MAY 30, 2013 4:00 AM
The administration’s political tactics are straight out of the Daley playbook.
    By John Fund
    http://www.nationalreview.com/article/349610/obamas-chicago-way-john-fund

Journalists used to know that presidents are in part a product of their past: where their careers were nurtured and where their politics were shaped. They understood this as a given when it came to Ronald Reagan and California; they basically grasped it about Bill Clinton’s Arkansas, and certainly nailed it on George W. Bush and Texas. But when it came to Barack Obama, all that went out the window. Speaking at the University of Southern California, at a post-2008 conference on the election, Mark Halperin, then of ABC News, said that the media’s treatment of Obama had been “the most disgusting failure of people in our business since the Iraq war.” It was “extreme bias, extreme pro-Obama coverage,” he concluded.
That media failure continued throughout Obama’s first term. Perhaps now, as Obama’s “Chicago Way” is coming into focus, the media will want to redeem itself. With Obama, it’s become all too clear: You can take the politician away from the machine, but you can’t take the machine out of the politician.

There is no connection between marital fidelity and leadership performance, except maybe a negative correlation. Nixon and Carter were faithful to their wives, Eisenhower and Kennedy were not.

Please make it long enough so that I am safely outta Russia. A fortnight should do it easily.
Michelle Obama makes these ‘cultural only’ visits, so why can’t I?
Oooh, is she insulting Japanese culture by not being there with him??

That’s not what I tell Da Hairy Ape. Other ladies are far too distracting, I tell him. It’s a known fact.

  35. Michel Lasouris

I doubt anyone thought of Obama’s presidency as anything other than an experiment. Well, that went spectacularly well, didn’t it? Set back certain misguided ambitions by decades, if not centuries.

  36. Dan

“These people”? The Magic Negro cannot be placed in the same company as JFK or Clinton for Pete’s sake!

Why is Obama’s race so important to you?

  37. Mick Gold Coast QLD

    From Dan at 2:11 pm:

” “These people”? The Magic Negro cannot be placed in the same company as JFK or Clinton for Pete’s sake!

Why is Obama’s race so important to you?”

Are you on “determined to be offended watch” afternoon shift Dan?

Show me where I said the race of the most shameless con man since P T Barnum is important to me.

Tell me the single most important basis on which the lazy, deceitful, secretive, destructive, ignorant boofhead was offered as president.

While you are in debating mode – heh, heh, heh – why has the dissolute little dilettante himself made such a fuss about race, race baiting and race based division from the moment he was endorsed? Tell me why rancorous Michelle focuses so on race hate (you can find her initial sortie into the field in her childlike dissertation at Princeton which, remarkably, was given a pass mark).

  38. Dan

The fact that you make an effort to refer to his race, despite it having no bearing on his ability to perform his tasks as President suggest that it is, to you at least, an important factor.

  39. Mick Gold Coast QLD

Dan old chap – you’ve suggested effort on my part where effortlessness prevailed; and ignored my questions of course.

You’ll be alarmed to hear that I’m way more concerned about that old adage (which, incidentally, has no basis in race) that fits the performance of the sonorous Muslim in Chief with the beautifully toned arms so well – a monkey in silk is a monkey no less.

He’s the small p president of the USA. Does he perform as a president performs? Seriously?

  40. Dan

I ignored your questions because they weren’t directly relevant.

Obama has been a disappointment for a variety of reasons, all of which have nothing to do with the colour of his skin.

  41. Mick Gold Coast QLD

    From Dan at 3:33 pm:

“I ignored your questions because they weren’t directly relevant.”

“Why is Obama’s race so important to you?” asks Dan.

“Show me where I said … race … is important to me.” says Mick.

Not relevant? Eh? You’re a poor judge or a poor reader or dim, Dan.

“Obama has been a disappointment for a variety of reasons, all of which have nothing to do with the colour of his skin.”

That’s a whole new matter, raised only by you. One trusts you find someone to argue that point, other than with yourself as you have done so far.

  42. Dan

I already answered that question, Mick, with this:

The fact that you make an effort to refer to his race, despite it having no bearing on his ability to perform his tasks as President suggest that it is, to you at least, an important factor.

So, to summarise: While you didn’t directly state that race was important to you, it was implicit in your post, through your curious use of words.

…And I really can’t be bothered talking about Michelle’s academic record.

  43. Mick Gold Coast QLD

    From Dan at 4:23 pm:

“So, to summarise: While you didn’t directly state that race was important to you, it was implicit in your post, through your curious use of words.”

It’s Brombergian, Mick. Read between the lines and you’ll find it’s all there.

  45. Dan

    Brombergian?

I think most people would find someone who refers to Obama as a “magic negro” to be a race-baiting twat.

  46. Well, poor Michelle just goes to show the truth in the old adage, ‘By the time a woman is 50, she has the face she deserves’.

She looks mean, angry, and like she complains a lot. This is unfortunate, but I suspect the pictures tell a thousand words.

  47. Mick Gold Coast QLD

    From Dan at 6:52 pm:

“I think most people would find someone who refers to Obama as a “magic negro” to be a race-baiting twat.”

Which is what you wanted to say from the beginning but were too gutless to venture forth.

    You said:

    “And I really can’t be bothered …”

which defines your knowledge of what you are talking about and your inability to substantiate your invented slight. By the way – “most people” – by what objective measure can you support that?

    Now pith off.

  48. Crossie

Might be a convenient (or contrived) reason for him to step down.

Except of course, Plugs Biden is the VP.

At least Biden is more entertaining. It would be safe for late night shows hosts to make fun of the president again.

  49. Fisky

    Absolutely useless President.

  50. Combine_Dave

If anything I suggest Mick’s comments mean the opposite of what Dan thought.

Appointing a person based on race (whether Obama or a white aboriginal) will always result in dissmal outcomes when compared to appointing based on merit.
