    From Armadillo at 10:24 pm:

    ” giving me occasional greasies

What the hell is a greasy?”

I discern you didn’t raise teenage daughters Armadillo.

  2. JC

    Hunted

Why didn’t you report the copper or even taking a pic of him with the rifle. If you didn’t think of the pic you could still report him by describing the rifle he was brandishing about.

  3. Rabz

FFS, SBS is a frigging disgrace. Trying to portray Lakemba as ‘misunderstood’.

    Shut the bloody thing down.

  4. Motelier

    JC

Sorry to say no to that.

The modern day criminal can use anything that is available to them and turn it into a weapon.

12 months ago, a “guest of the local watch house that we had to feed from arrest to prison sentence” managed to pull the seatbelt from the housing and then attacked the dividing screen that divides the rear seat from the front seat.

It took 4 officers to restrain this person. Oh….she was a she.

I do not envy the police their position in relation to the public.

Mostly, I find them polite and wishing to get on to other matters.

  5. JC

FFS, SBS is a frigging disgrace. Trying to portray Lakemba as ‘misunderstood’.

    It’s not working though.

  6. Motelier

    Although,

I did post the letter to the Minister of Police in Qld about what I saw between Miriam Vale and Calliope.

I have got the standard receipt of mail.

  7. The Hunted Mind

You’re right JC, I should have. This kind of crap needs to be resisted. But I just figured I would get blown off. Who do you report to? The cops? They won’t do anything to their own without any evidence.

  8. Infidel Tiger

I remember asking a cop to please breath test me in a pub car park so I could tell if I should drive home. He refused and told me not to touch my car. I told him I was definitely going to drive home the moment he left and he said he was definitely going to breath test me the moment I hopped behind the wheel.

    That was a weird altercation.

  9. Armadillo

I discern you didn’t raise teenage daughters Armadillo.

I obviously mix in the wrong circles Mick (or geography anyway). Just asked 16 year old Miss A and got a blank look. Mrs A the same. Never heard any of the 5 sisters mention the term either. “Sleasy” I’ve heard, but not “Greasys”. I take it ‘Hunted Mind” then is female? My mistake. I was trying to work out why a copper would be giving some bloke a “greasy”.

  10. The Hunted Mind

And I don’t know much about guns. I didn’t think to note any detail about the rifle.

  11. The Hunted Mind

I’m not a chick. I think Mick must have meant I have got them from my daughter, and yes I have, often, worse than the cop’s.

  12. Pedro the Ignorant

The only “greasies” I have heard of are fish an chips.

  13. Motelier

I have not heard of any Police force giving out free breath tests unless they are trying to arrest you.

  14. C.L.

Miranda Devine considering legal action against Mike Carlton for online stalking.

Amongst other things, Carlton ‘joked’ that she gang-banged the riot squad:

Diary has obtained a dossier that shows Carlton has delivered at least 55 public insults towards Devine. The abuse began when she was still working for Fairfax.

Some of the comments carried sexist undertones, such as this tweet:“@mirandadvine is ‘embedded’ with the police riot squad, as she puts it. What, all of them at once? Must be exhausting.”

Despite that remark, the sisterhood never said a word. It seems many women in the media are only feminists when it suits them.

When we informed Devine about the dossier yesterday, she admitted she had sought legal advice over the riot squad tweet in May last year, and while she decided to let that comment slide, she said she may not be so inclined to put up with any defamatory remarks in future.

“He is such a vicious, damaging individual that if he defames me again, I certainly wouldn’t rule out taking legal action,’’ she said.

  15. Armadillo

The only “greasies” I have heard of are fish an chips.

Potato Scallops covered in grease – natures most effective cure for a hangover.

  16. C.L.

    Shock career change:

    Left Ten, gone to Labor

After taking redundancy from Network Ten, former bureau chief Stephen Spencer has taken a role as a media adviser to Labor MP Catherine King. Spencer, known for his controversial tweets, has never attempted to hide his political leanings, despite working in the press gallery.

  17. Infidel Tiger

I have not heard of any Police force giving out free breath tests unless they are trying to arrest you.

    I know. How ridiculous.

Wasn’t like I wanted to borrow his baton to pleasure myself.

I obviously mix in the wrong circles Mick (or geography anyway). Just asked 16 year old Miss A and got a blank look. Mrs A the same. Never heard any of the 5 sisters mention the term either.”

I must admit old and past it then – my “16 year old” is now 32, 35 and 37. The term may have passed it’s use by date at the end of last century.

  19. Motelier

I remember asking a cop to please breath test me in a pub car park so I could tell if I should drive home. He refused and told me not to touch my car. Ummmmmmmm I am missing something here.

When do the words DIAL A TAXI fail to be appreciated.

All of us. Myself, MrsM and the two youngsters ALWAYS take a cab after the first drink crosses the lips.

  20. C.L.

    Good on you, Erin:

Erin Molan quits Kiis FM after inappropriate and sexist questions during her sports segment.

Amongst other things, she was asked about her breasts, how many footballers she has slept with and – by talentless fatso Kyle Sandilands – if she had ever rooted a cricketer.

She was on air to give a sports round-up.

I’d like to see Sandilands speak to her this way in the company of her father, the General.

  21. Peter from SA

These fuckers are wearing dark blue military like uniforms and combat boots

In SA they have gone the full-on “black ops” … as in the cops uniform is now simply “black”. They used to have a kind of “we’re your friends” public service issue duck-egg blue uniform.

I guess this makes them feel better. Pity they can’t catch all of the kiddy-fiddlers in the Education Dept. People lampoon this place as Snowtown-South for good reason, sadly.

  22. The Hunted Mind

All of us. Myself, MrsM and the two youngsters ALWAYS take a cab after the first drink crosses the lips.

Well that’s over-reacting a bit. You can 3 or 4 drinks and still drive.

  23. Armadillo

I have not heard of any Police force giving out free breath tests unless they are trying to arrest you.

Tamworth. After the Country Music Festival, all the campers pack up early on Sunday and head home. The Police have a tent in the camping grounds and will encourage you to come in and have a test. If you don’t pass, go and have some breakfast/coffee or a walk about for a few hours until you are right to go.

    Good on them

  25. Gab

It really does confirm the dumbing down of Australia occurred some time ago when the likes of Jackie O and Sandilands are still employed on the radio today and still pulling the high ratings.

  26. Peter from SA

    Good on you, Erin:

Damn right! that is astounding. Good on her for having some idea of her self-worth, and making a stand. I hope, just maybe, in the weirdo out there celeb culture this might score her some points.

    yeah, I’m just hoping …

  27. Motelier

    THM

    Nope,

Sorry, but neither MrsM or I can afford to take the risk. This has been passed on to the two little ones.

I am try to figure out the problem here. We are not in any danger of being breath tested after drinking, and we are keeping taxi drivers employed.

    HMmmmmmmmm

  28. C.L.

Erin’s a great sports reporter and a really vivacious talent.

It irks me to see her treated this way.

Last week on the Footy Show, idiot Paul Vautin introduced her by saying she looked … “juicy.”

  29. Armadillo

The term may have passed it’s use by date at the end of last century.

Possibly not Mick. I’d say it’s more geographical than anything. My aunties, sisters, cousins. nieces wife and daughter span just about every age group from the present to the 1930′s. I’ve never heard it uttered once.

  30. twostix

Amongst other things, she was asked about her breasts, how many footballers she has slept with and – by talentless fatso Kyle Sandilands – if she had ever rooted a cricketer.

    Remember this?

JULIA Gillard’s communications chief has leapt to the defence of radio shock jock Kyle Sandilands saying he touches ”the hearts of millions of people”.

In response to a News Limited article about a radio interview the Prime Minister did with Sandilands and his co-host Jackie O yesterday, McTernan fired off an email defending the controversial personality.

”It appears it falls to me to point out some basic rules of comms to you,” McTernan wrote.

”I have no idea why you – and it appears your paper – have a vendetta against Kyle. He is a popular and talented broadcaster and is listened to by more than a million people every morning.

”His work with charity is well known but it apparently disturbs you that the Prime Minister hosted Kyle and Jackie O and kids from Bear Cottage at Kirribilli House. Well I will never apologise for arranging that.

”Perhaps one day you will know what it is like to entertain and touch the hearts of millions of people like Kyle and Jackie O do every day. And perhaps then you will reflect on the darts of the pygmies who sneer at success.”

Is that scumbag John Mcternan still fradulently in this country on a 457 Visa? Or has he fucked off home to his shitty third world country?

  31. Peter from SA

I was just thinking that the local SA Cops have these new black uniforms (which look pretty cool if you are a militarist I guess).
What do they keep in all those leather ammo pouches? Probably not ammo, however. More like legal documents ready to serve members of the public for causing various degrees of effence?? hahahahah … yeah not that funny as it is most likely true.

  32. JC

It really does confirm the dumbing down of Australia occurred some time ago when the likes of Jackie O and Sandilands are still employed on the radio today and still pulling the high ratings.

‘sactly. It’s a poor mans Howard Stern rip off. I used to watch TV show of Stern’s radio program on E. It was pretty tasteless but very funny.

  33. Leigh Lowe

Pity they can’t catch all of the kiddy-fiddlers in the Education Dept. People lampoon this place as Snowtown-South for good reason, sadly.

There only way you can guarantee that someone in the SA Education Department hasn’t touched up a kiddy is if his mother took Thalidomide.

  34. So it appears that Michael Brown was shot while attacking a police officer and resisting arrest. Will this mean that the Rev Al Sharpton and the other race-baiters call for calm, etc? Probably not. Obama, of course, “understands the anger” of the protesters. I have no doubt that the person that sat at the feet of Bill Ayers and Rev. Wright does “understand the anger”.

  35. Armadillo

She was on air to give a sports round-up.

I’d like to see Sandilands speak to her this way in the company of her father, the General.

General or not, it doesn’t matter. It’s a wonder the fat turd hasn’t been snotted by someone.

  36. JC

Erin’s a great sports reporter and a really vivacious talent.

It irks me to see her treated this way.

Last week on the Footy Show, idiot Paul Vautin introduced her by saying she looked … “juicy.”

But really on a serious not CL, WTF is a woman doing on a footy show other than giving the weather report for the weekend’s play?

Those metrosexuals on Offsiders have Caroline Wilson on most Sundays, although with her, you can’t tell the diff as to which are the males and females, so it may be a bit unfair of me to point her out.

  37. Motelier

I have to admit that I have observed a few pieces of uhhhhmmmmm obviously strange police behaviour.

But. seriously, why would you dress people in dark clothes during an Australian summer?

When was the last time you dressed all black and stood in the Australian sun?

  38. Armadillo

When was the last time you dressed all black and stood in the Australian sun?

    Mote, stop baiting IT.

  39. Peter from SA

There only way you can guarantee that someone in the SA Education Department hasn’t touched up a kiddy is if his mother took Thalidomide.

It is this bad. A few years ago the Premier merged “Families SA” (child protection) into the Education Dept., and appointed a cop to be in charge of the whole thing.
And now we hear some kiddy fiddler in the education dept got accused of fiddling kids (who’d have thought?). So he goes to his union and quickly becomes the victim. He is subsequently returned to duties and promoted.
The whole thing is sick. The Labor govt/ ministers lack the culture to challenge anyone involved.

Labor admits the education Dept culture is so f***ed they have to put a cop in charge. But he seems to have been “won over” by the bureaucracy and is now defending them.

Seriously scary statism at its most corrupt.

    From C.L. at 11:19 pm:

“Miranda Devine considering legal action against Mike Carlton for online stalking.

Amongst other things, Carlton ‘joked’ that she gang-banged the riot squad:”

Miranda Devine has pedigree and class Butch can only dream about, and she is a full time working journalist to boot.

Some others here may remember her father, the late Frank Devine, as an articulate, interesting and popular journalist reporting from overseas in the ’70s and ’80s and later at The Australian and Quadrant. She grew up mostly in New York and there is a lot of the old man in her style and focus.

I’m not surprised she is one who does not condescend to recognise urchins such as Our Butch.

    However.

Late today, marihuana in his system. Quelle surprise.

  44. Is that our Dr Philippa Martyr on Who Do You Think You Are? tonight?

Yes! Well spotted. I spent the evening making pate and watching myself on television.

I look like Ten-Tonne Tessie, but for the record, Lisa McCune – who looks relatively normal on screen – has in real life an approximately 15-inch waist, and is very very slim and fine-boned.

She looked like a stick of barley sugar; I was in awe. I didn’t think you could be that slim and not actually snap in half.

It took about 5 hours in total to shoot – just with the setting up, with takes, and then shutting down. We actually talked about a whole bunch of stuff to do with her grandfather.

  45. Armadillo

I’m not surprised she is one who does not condescend to recognise urchins such as Our Butch.

Different era. Different upbringing. Different ethos. Miranda will tear him apart.

  46. twostix

I took a look and couldn’t see if the little fuckhead (who we should really all love because he destroyed the ALP) John Mcternan, is still in Australia. He has a regular column in the UK Telegraph for some bizarre reason though.

Awe inspiring hypocrysy of the month goes to this column: Another assault on the freedom of the press
This is the man who went to war with Australian newspapers and was part of an unelected Junta that tried to muzzle them.

I see on Twitter he describes his ideology thusly:

    @NewLeftProject Because we are internationalists.

Right. He’s an “internationalist” . Good going ALP, any more British communist dregs you can import to interfere in our affairs?

  47. Motelier

    Peter from SA

    We here you.

But tell us who to look for.

Federally we have, well you know.

Vic is being torn apart by well, being Victoria.
    SA….hmmmm
Tasmania still is Bob Browns country.

I really have no idea about WA but I can say that my chats to people in the public domain tell me that Labors Tarago will not need to be traded in on a larger vehicle.

  48. Armadillo

Well done Philippa. I saw kae’s comment earlier, looked up the internet thingy and it was her name showing, not yours so I thought it was some sort of insider’s joke, and missed seeing you it seems.

Lisa McCune was Maritime Matters (RAN) Advisor to Pre-school Senatorette Sarah Helter-Skelter wasn’t she?

  51. Motelier

    Night peeps

I have Mr and Mrs NO in tonight.

A few breakfast to do tomorrow morning.

Hopefully Mr and Mrs No will stay tomorrow night.

  52. It has now become rare to see a police officer who isn’t dressed like Robo Cop.

My old man was a copper, and he said 30 years ago the military look was inappropriate for police. I think he was onto something. The look influences the attitude, hence hats and no beards.

From Leigh Lowe at 12:04 am:

” Late today, marihuana in his system. Quelle surprise.

    Heavy user perhaps?
To the point of drug induced paranoia?”

I’ve been following dead Traaayvon II’s travails in the US media and independent sites since last week. I reported here yesterday that the cigars he stole are commonly used by marihuana users.

The first autopsy is the official one – there are seventeen to follow until Rev’s Sharpton and Jackson can deliver news of the only true true result to the First Race Shakedown Artist.

They sort of mumbled softly about the marihuana bit for fear of awakening repressed memories of being sold into slavery by African village chieftans, leading to torching of the remaining three commercial buildings in Ferguson.

That’s part of the “grieving process”, evidently.

  54. Mick Gold Coast QLD

Checking on the Ferguson Fireworks Extravaganza – the report I cited was commissioned by the family and was made by a former chief medical examiner for New York City.

  55. Oh come on

Palmer’s an idiot but the LNP’s ostentatious rush to lick China’s ring in response to his rantings is deeply embarrassing. Abbott, Hockey, Barnett, Bishop – get up off your knees and STFU with the profuse apologies. The Chinese are bright enough to figure out who Palmer speaks for. His comments are only harmful to the bilateral relationship if you are stupid enough to allow the Chinese to spin them as an impediment.

  56. JC

    OCO

Come on, an elected official can’t say those things without a government response. We’re not at war with China.

  57. Oh come on

But he’s a crank who’s entitled to his view. That should be it. No apologies.

  58. JC

Yea, but no one is saying he can’t express his crazy views. The government isn’t trying to muzzle him with a 18c like law. They’re embarrassed about it.

  59. Oh come on

Why be embarrassed? He isn’t one of them and he doesn’t speak for them.

The government’s response weakens their hand relative to that of the Chinese.

  60. JC

He’s not criticizing them, OCO. He’s abusing them, making all sorts of wild allegations.

  61. JC

The little corporal from Tasmania made it sound as though Chine was going to invade us tomorrow.

  62. Oh come on

When I say “them”, I mean the Australian government.

The Australian government should not be apologising to the Chinese for things that Clive Palmer says about them. That’s just stupid, stupid, stupid.

  63. Oh come on

Of course, she’s a complete fuckwit. Again, she alone is responsible for her comments. The Australian government should not be acting as though they could reasonably be held accountable for what she and Palmer said. Unfortunately, because they’ve already acted in such a way, the Chinese will of course attempt to hold them accountable in an effort to obtain an advantage in bilateral negotiations.

  64. Oh come on

I once saw a nasty fat rat in an open sewer in India. It was huge. Its massive butt had tufts of patchy hair sprouting in places but was mostly bald, and it had a disproportionately large set of bollocks.

She is inarticulate and Fordham did his damnedest to get her to say things in away he could to make her sound dumber than she is. She never said or suggested Chine was going to invade us tomorrow. Fordham and 2gb should be ashamed of themselves.

It wasn’t just Fordham. Lambie was on ABC Local Radio with Rafael Epstein and still came across as if the Commos will be here with our grandkids their slaves. As to doubling the defence budget, she couldn’t come up with even $10 billion of savings to finance that particular thought bubble.

No, not tomorrow, but what she said is this …

However, I strongly support the general point that Clive made about Communist China’s military capacity and threat to Australia. If there’s one thing I’ve learnt after serving my country in the Australian Defence Force for 11 years and listening closely to our veterans, it’s this: The price of liberty is eternal vigilance.
If anybody thinks that we should have a national security and defence policy, which ignores the threat of a Chinese Communist invasion – you’re delusional and got rocks in your head. The Communist Chinese military capacity and level of threat to the western world democracies is at an unprecedented and historical high.

I am sure Palmer’s (and fellow party members) recent tirades have had nothing to do with those millions he ‘borrowed’ liberated from the chicoms.

  78. Bruce of Newcastle

After giving the ABC hard time yesterday I have to be fair this morning. ABC Newsradio played the Lateline interview between Steve Cannane and Mathias Cormann (who was excellent).

Mr Cannane asked decent questions and gave Cormann time to actually answer them. It was so civilized. Compare and contrast with Harridan Emma who asks endless gotcha questions then talks over the answers…except if she is interviewing someone she approves of, whereupon its is the softest of soft runs.

So well done Mr Cannane! Sadly I think your run in the Lateline chair is going to be extremely short.

You could draw a conclusion from Mark Scott’s recent address to budding propagandists … er, journalists, that in response to the slight reduction in funding, the ABC will double down on News, which is the area that they already invest so much in, to the detriment of the nation (due to the wilful bias and misinformation they promulgate) and to other sections of the corporation.
As if the waste of resources plugged into the 24 hour HD (!) channel wasn’t enough, it may be that they abandon core entertainments such as drama, and do more LCD things like “reality” shows, throw more at Triple j (rabz, i’m surprised you are a fan), and go after the youth market generally. That figures, as votes can be harvested for the left at those younger age groups, before they wake up to the bs factor.
Also in the Oz, Errol Simper says Sarah Ferguson was a very good filler-in for Sales on the 7.30 Report. Yes, she was, if anyhting, even more of a vicious lefty attack dog than Sales, so a very predictable result.

Three rockets fired from Gaza struck southern Israel on Tuesday, breaking a ceasefire, drawing Israeli retaliation and prompting Israel to recall its delegation from already fraught Egyptian-brokered talks in Cairo for an agreement to end the conflict.

THE Abbott government has warned Clive Palmer against using his elected position to pursue a private feud with Chinese investors, amid deepening fears of diplomatic and economic fallout from his vitriolic attack on China.

The furore could inflict lasting damage on the Palmer United Party as voters witness Mr Palmer’s volatile temperament and he abuses the Chinese only a few years after singing their praises when he was seeking billions of dollars from investors.

The Australian can reveal that Mr Palmer has been hit with a new barrage of serious evidence compiled by Citic in its escalating row over his allegedly wrongful misuse of more than $12 million. A dossier of new legal documents filed in the Supreme Court in Brisbane late yesterday, include evidence of how much of the money belonging to Citic was spent by Mr Palmer on his Palmer United Party.

Not dismissing it outright (I wasn’t there), but it sounds strange to me.

What type of vehicle were the coppers in? Marked Highway patrol? Regular (white) car? Divvy van? Public Order Response Team (PORT)? Critical Incident Response Team?

    Also:

    Who do you report to?

Try these folks: Independant Broadbased Anti-Corruption Commission
(they took over the role of the old independant Office of Police Intergrity back in February 2013, and will investigate public complaints of police performance, etc)

    Oh and JC:
VicPol switched to the dark blue uniforms over 12 months ago (June 2013) after a community survey (apparently?) suggested the change (the first in over 30 years) would help standardise the appearance of officers (since the old uniform could be worn in over eighty different combinations, whereas the new design can be worn in either an operational or station/office dress configuration – the differences between these two are minimal).

Personally I think it’s a crock of the proverbial but “little cog in big machine”, etc.. *shrug*

    Lastly:
Not sure about CL’s “It has now become rare to see a police officer who isn’t dressed like Robo Cop” comment…

Do coppers carry more equipement than they used to 20 years ago? Most certainly.
Is it overkill? Maybe, maybe not. The argument can be made that the additional ‘militarization look’ of the modern copper is what fuels the ‘anti-authority’ attitudes of (some parts of) society [however there is a marked increase in attacks on Ambos and firies, and those guys haven't "militarised" their uniforms], or that the militarization look is a response to the anti-authority attitudes – a self-perpetuating cycle (more of the anti-authority attitude leads to more attacks leads to more militarization leads to more anti-authroity attitude leads to…)

Personally I’d much rather go back to the ‘old days’ where policing was more interaction and less confrontation… and that’s how I try to behave and deal with the public (both on- and off-duty). Most of the time it works. Respect begets respect, after all.

Sometimes though, there are people who just want to be assholes…. and I will treat them in the biblical manner: Do unto others as they would do unto you.

  120. Brian of Moorabbin

Made all the more so because it would have taken little to no effort for the copper to pro-actively deal with the situation (“Sure, no problem. Let me set-up the device and away we go.” *beep* “Yep, you’re clear. Take care and have a good night/Nah, sorry mate. Looks like you’re a touch over. Better to be safe, eh?”), as opposed to reactively dealing with a potentially escalating incident (and thus creating a negative experience and attitude towards “those bastard coppers ‘cuffed me and threw me in the back of the car and hauled me off to gaol”)…

Egypt urges Obama to show restraint in Ferguson.

Egypt’s government has called on US authorities to show restraint against protesters in Ferguson, Missouri.

It said it was “closely following the escalation of protests” after the fatal shooting of an unarmed black teenager by a white policeman on 9 August.

The statement echoes US President Barack Obama’s comments during Egypt’s crackdown on protesters in 2013.

Correspondents say the criticism is unusual since Egypt gets about $1.5bn (£1bn) in aid from the US every year.

President Obama is under increasing pressure to bring an end to the violent scenes in the St Louis suburb.

Beltway Democrat Wonders Why There are So Many White Elected Officials in Ferguson

Eleanor Homes Norton, the Democratic representative in Congress for the non-voting District of Columbia, is quite adept at providing the entertaining sound bite. Most recently she asserted that Congress doesn’t have the right to know about everything going on in government.

Today’s comments on MSNBC might even top that. Speaking with host Jose Diaz Balart, she called the racial mix of elected officials in Ferguson, MO, “troublesome”:

Here you have the mostly white police force in a mostly black community. But I’m perplexed about why most of the elected officials are white as well. Is there something about the way elections are done in Missouri or in the county? That’s troublesome.

Usually when you get a minority community or a community that becomes mostly minority, you get some diversity of representation. So you may have an elected leadership, as well as a police force, that does not feel that they are truly representative of the community and that’s poison.

Hey, black community. You see what happens when you don’t have your own elected officials out there, people who have had experiences similar to your own. I don’t understand that. Again, there may be something about the way the election are conducted in that county. But if I were in that community, the first thing I would be doing is organize voters to go to the polls in November.

These comments beg for some questions:

    – Does she think that the voters did not get the elected officials they voted for?
    – Would not whites representing blacks, assuming that’s the way the votes were cast, be diversity of representation? What about white districts represented by black Congressmen? Is that okay with her?
    – If the current officials are not “your own,” exactly whose are they?
    – Does she really think that stirring up more racial grievances is the answer for what is going on in Ferguson?

Obviously, the goings on in Ferguson are a horrific mess, but isn’t it possible that comments like these from our nation’s elected “leaders” keep fanning the flames instead of putting them out?

    Naturally….

  135. Brian of Moorabbin

Monitoring the commenters is even funnier. They include the Semenblogger, that simpering lunatic Homer Paxton, and Clive 4 Evah.

What on earth was a woman doing in this situation in the first place?

Nurse sues Cape York Hospital and Health Service over assault in remote Queensland community.

A NURSE is suing for more than $2 million over a sexual assault in a remote community after her employer allegedly failed to evacuate her, despite being told she was in danger.

The woman, who was allegedly chased and sexually assaulted by a patient in Cape York, is suing the local health service for negligence, claiming she told a superior she had been threatened by a patient; however, the nurse’s superior allegedly failed to act on her request to be evacuated.

Following a second incident, the nurse was flown to Cairns the next day.

In a claim against the Cape York Hospital and Health Service filed in the Supreme Court, the nurse said the incidents occurred when she was working at the Health Care Centre as a registered nurse in 2011, while living in housing next door to the clinic.

One night, a local man with a medical history was treated by the nurse and then discharged with two Panadeine tablets. An hour later, he returned, complaining of chest pain.

After the nurse opened the clinic for him, she said he began yelling loudly at her, saying, among other things, “you have to treat me, you white b—-, you can’t refuse to treat us blackfellas”.

While pointing in the direction of her house, the man allegedly said: “I will kill you. I will go get axes and guns. You’re dead. We’ll get you at your house.”

The pong of militant feminism is strong … South Australian authorities ignored claim made by man regarding his daughter’s sexual abuse at the hands of her new step-brother.

Father calls authorities on sex abuse of daughter, is ‘criticised and chastised’ by child protection worker.

EDUCATION and Child Development Minister Jennifer Rankine has apologised to an Adelaide father, after Families SA bungled an investigation into the sexual abuse of his daughter.

Two Families SA staffers have been disciplined for their early roles in the investigation. A teenage boy was later charged with seven counts of sexually abusing his stepsister.

The father, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, said although he was told an investigation would start within a fortnight after calling the child-abuse reporting hotline, it had not began for six weeks.

When it did begin in late 2012, he was “criticised and chastised’’ by one Families SA worker, who questioned his parenting skills.

“We were told we were overreacting. She told my wife that we had been coaching my daughter just to get back at my former wife,’’ he said.

“ … in her opinion, nothing sexual had occurred and the case was closed.’’

Pope backs military force to protect Iraq minorities.

James Bretzke, a priest and professor of moral theology at Boston College, said popes in recent history have all lined up against any military intervention, including World War I, World War II, the Vietnam War and, most recently, the U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2003.

“This is the most pronounced endorsement of the use of force of any pope … in the last 100 years,” Bretzke said.

The pope (qua commentator and private doctor) errs, however, in seeing the so-called United Nations as the ‘legitimate authority’ in this matter, vis-a-vis just war theology. Only Western democracies are legitimate moral authorities on these questions. The UN has no moral authority whatsoever.

Beltway Democrat Wonders Why There are So Many White Elected Officials in Ferguson

Because the non-white population can’t be bothered getting off its collective arse to vote – or if they do, it is predominantly for white candidates. So, who (if anyone) is to blame here?

    What a dope.

    LOL.

    He’s referring to military means.

Only militaries can deliver food, “stop” terrorists and shepherd people home through a war zone. But good work, Francis, calling for military action (wink wink, nudge nudge) while not inflaming the anti-Christian holocaust already underway.

Piux XII never called for Nazis to be bombed either.

I did make that very point, earlier, that C.L.s point still.stands, but as the, loved no matter how much bald faced lying he does, Dot, says, no one listens to those not peddling Leftist BS about what The Left are doing to Ukrainians, Catholics, Jews…but as we know, not listening, and not acknowledging hearing, are two very different things…

srr – what would make things really interesting is if, co-incident with the start of upcoming “peace” talks between The Chocolate King and Vladimir Putin, Russia decides to occupy the Eastern Ukraine. There are 70,000? Russian troops at the eastern border and it would seem relatively easy for them to be sent in to stabilize the situation and protect the citizenry during the “peace” negotiations. Perhaps it might end the current hostilities and result in agreement that the Ukraine to the west of the Dnieper River becomes a separate sovereign nation aligned to the Euro-weenies, while the Ukraine to the east of the Dnieper River becomes a separate sovereign nation aligned to Russia.

    From four hours ago:

“Police in Missouri have shot dead a man armed with a knife amid a major escalation …

Police … came under “heavy gunfire” and arrested more than 30 people as racially charged tension boiled … .

The latest killing happened … .”

The “latest killing”? Are the murderous murdering police offering them in dozen lots or something?

“St Louis police chief … said … officers had responded to a call and found an apparently agitated man, armed with a knife who yelled “kill me now” and approached the patrol.

… “Officers gave suspect verbal commands. Officers feared for their safety and both officers fired their weapons. Suspect is deceased.”

    A hearing was conducted:

“The world’s media descended on the street where the latest police shooting took place, with dozens of reporters …”

    and the jury has spoken.

“Onlookers gathered at the … scene …, some of them chanting the slogan of the protests: “Hands up, don’t shoot.”

Uh-oh. Some government researchers have wandered off the reservation:

Drawing on data from the Longitudinal Surveys of Australian Youth (LSAY), the research explores a range of school characteristics and their impact on students’ emotional and cognitive engagement with school at age 15.

Mr Rod Camm, Managing Director, NCVER, said individual characteristics, such as the intention to complete Year 12, strong academic performance and a high sense of individual ability had a much greater impact on school engagement than school characteristics.

Other important individual predictors that have an impact on school engagement include being foreign born, coming from a high socioeconomic status background, speaking a language other than English at home, working only a few hours a week outside of school, and coming from a traditional nuclear family.

Once individual background factors are controlled for, schools had very little impact on the engagement levels of 15 year-olds.

I have a mate whos a copper, and any group of police is only as militant or civil as their supervisor make them.

I saw it in detention, you need supervisors with common sense and good moral character. His underlings will follow how they are led.
Eg: He pulled over a vehicle after it was reported the passenger had threatened another vehicle with a pistol at the traffic lights. His partner stayed back while he approached and talked the blokes out of the vehicle then dropped them both (taken to the ground) when he saw the butt of the pistol in the glovebox.

All low key stuff, the “gung ho” method would have been to pull them over and start screaming for them to exit the vehicle while pointing their pistols at them, a recipe for people to get shot. In the end it turned out the pistol was a realistic replica, and the 2 people in the car were druggie scum with about 2 kg of dope and other drugs stashed in the car.

The same town had a traffic cop who was eventually dismissed after assaulting a (well connected) Aboriginal lad during a stop for speeding, he was loathed by the other cops as it had become common knowledge he was assaulting some people he pulled over… But without a formal complaint they couldnt get rid of him, luckily the assaulted boys family had the guts to make the complaint and he was dismissed as quickly as they could.

Oh and what is it about detention and police services that it attracts lesbians like moths to a flame, his station has about 1 straight female to 5 lesbians and detention was nearly 50/50…
    Uniforms?
    Truncheons?

Just got this from Change.org (which I regret given the nonsense spam I get now)

    This is infuriating.

The federal government has just “vetoed” one of the first medicinal cannabis operations in Australia, on Norfolk Island.

Now we’ve just seen a “drug free” organisation is claiming decriminalising medicinal cannabis will “kill our children”. And they’re writing to all politicians.

Misinformation and outdated ideas are rising. And the Federal Health Minister is flat-out ignoring the reality – the government won’t return any calls or emails so they can actually hear the desperate reality families like ours are facing.

I’ve tried so hard for months. Helping my son battle terminal cancer. Fighting so we’re no longer criminals in the eyes of the law for using medicinal cannabis. 200,000 of you have backed us up by signing our change.org petition.

Now we need to fight to save the medicinal cannabis laws in NSW from being railroaded by misinformation and a federal government that’s striking down any progress.

Please leave a quick phone message with Federal Health Minister Peter Dutton’s office today – tell him it’s time to get briefed with the facts, and meet with families like ours who are going through this nightmare.

Call the Minister right now on 02 6277 7220 – it’ll take 2 minutes and help enormously. You can also add your name to a petition started asking the government to change it’s position by clicking here.

I know we can still win this fight. More than 30 MPs have declared their support in NSW. They’ve shifted because they’ve heard our story. You’ve all chipped in over $30,000 in ads to help us keep getting the message out there.

We just need to squash this misinformation right now. And ensure the Federal Government don’t “veto” any more laws that will help families using medicinal cannabis to cope with terminal illnesses.

Thanks for being with me, it means so much to us that we’re not alone.

Had a quick look at Philippa’s piece on SBS. Well considered, I thought, and beautifully sympathetic; well done you. Pretty ear rings too, the nice sort of dangly ones.

My own father had a similar ‘personality disorder’, including a similarly named ‘nervous breakdown’ when things went badly wrong for him, and he had a dreadful childhood. How these things do go down the line, too; my sister and brother have escaped less than I have (and it’s not just that I would say that, wouldn’t I?) – plus we had a double whammy with our mother floridly schizophrenic at times. Leaving home at 14, books, good looks and, eventually, education, all saved me – combined with a genetic tendency to skepticism and an even keel (thank you to whatever relative contributed that little inheritance).

Genes do matter in mental health (I am convinced of it), but circumstances can also bring out the best and the worst. I think my sister, who had a drunken screaming fit at Da Hairy Ape last night about climate change (she is drawn to apocalyptic theories like a bad actress to a melodrama), ‘overwrites’ my father’s ‘narcissistic’ personality and mental ‘illness’. In my opinion, stress was such a big factor with him, on top of a rigid (defensive) personality and a misdirected and thus thwarted driving ambition. My older sister’s authoritarian tendencies, alcohol intake and badly-handled levels of stress are clearly familial and probably acquired rather than genetic. My Sainted Mother’s matrilineal family were old Welsh ‘see-ers’ for generations back; a schizophrenic tendency that was fully integrated into the social system in the past, but medicalised today. Sis has exhibited, and in her teen years was hospitalized for, some florid schizoid episodes. All in the long-gone past; mostly, as became the case with my mother, departed from her now that she is past menopause, sans any medication. Hormonal interactions can be quite significant in schizophrenia, I read.

I’m glad it sounds strange to you. Means it’s more likely to be an isolated incident. I don’t recall the car type. I was paying more attention to the big fuck off gun.

One thing I do remember is that the officer who came to my window was a young, slightly built woman who seemed a bit nervous. She was obviously new to the job. I wasn’t rude but neither was I particularly nice because I hate these gotcha speeding fines on safe roads. Perhaps the other officer saw her looking nervous and decided to get out of car and make a show of strength. I still don’t think it was justified because I imagine surliness is normal when getting booked, but would that be something you guys do? I can’t imagine it is.

Thanks for the link for complaints. I don’t think I’ll bother with one this time because as you can see here, people have trouble believing it and I have no evidence. Next time I’ll be more prepared and will take photos and get out of the car and ask for a name. Hopefully it was a one off though.

Thinking some more about it, I think it was a regular white police car. When they pull you over they’re behind you so you don’t look at their car much. I have an image in my head though of a white car and the radar gun in the front windscreen as I drove past a concealed side street or driveway.

Dot’s is branding everyone who doesn’t fall for Dot’s, Leftist, childish, unicorn hunting tactics, a LOON.

Dot still offers No Unbiased, Independent News source, to back Dot’s Ultra Leftist EU, UN & Kiev propaganda.

How much of Australia’s media has been keeping up regular reporting on AUSTRALIA’S Election Rigging, Australian Electoral Commission dodginess (I’m being polite), since before the Howard Govt lay down and handed over to the Labor side of The UN pandering Left, that thoroughly infect The Government Running, ‘public’ service?

The Ultra Left EU Installed, current Kiev govt. reporting they won an election, is hardly unbiased or believable, particularly when that Ultra Left EU Installed govt then sends out it’s EU & UN Backed Military to Slaughter Ukrainians living where Ukrainians chose not to vote for them.

More Ukrainians killed by the EUkraine Military at war against their own people, than those killed in the current war of Hamas Islamists against Israeli Jews, but who cares, while Dot and Token keep arguing that the Ukrainians deserve to die for not being Pro-EU & UN.

You mean like the election of the legitimate government – overseen and ticked off on by a thousand western european observers – that was later overthrown in a violent coup by your German backed nazi mates in EUmaiden?

A Junta which is now engaged in an unapologetic ethnic cleansing to rid the country of their age old pesky political and ethnic rivals – the people who conveniently all also happened to vote for the elected government which was violently overthrown.
