Like I said yesterday, there’s no more left vs right. It’s globalism vs nationalism and the open borders proponents are on the side of the globalists. The whole Brexit referendum will be fought on this notwithstanding the many red herrings that are thrown into the mix.

Interesting insight. Tell us Adam, are you free or the fair sort of trade and capital movements.

  2. thefrollickingmole

Youd need a heart of stone not to laugh.

This is on the level of “chocolate rations will be increased from 100 to 50 grams next week” level of reporting..

Angela Merkel strikes deal with German states to put brakes on green energy
Pact addresses concerns that burgeoning output from renewables is putting strain on electricity grid and pushing up prices

    ….
Generous green subsidies have led to a boom in renewable energy, such as wind and solar power. But the rapid expansion has pushed up electricity costs in Europe’s biggest economy and placed a strain on its grid.

With the government sticking to its target for an increase in the share of renewable sources to 40-45% of total electricity production by 2025, it will have to put the brakes on growth to avoid overshooting.

So the grid is crapping itself over the amount of unpredictable fluctuations its getting, and you pay more for it, i wonder what the Germans have as a solution..?

The government and states failed to agree on upper limits for biomass, which is important in the southern state of Bavaria.

Thats right, burning wood… Much of it imported from the USA as pellets.

    Guys, guys, guys…

I purposely used ‘GUYS’ many times today at work.

Me too Shelley, it’s so voguish given its gender fluidity and species fluidity too — because when the bitches fight over who gets the extra pig’s ear — I say guys, guys, guys, calm down and sit. So versatile

The dude is right, this level of intrusion is basically an updated version of communism. The West is fucked.

    Yep.
Hence a leader like Trump becomes possibly the last chance for the West.
Much more of what’s going on (cultural Marxism / Year Zero extremism) and there’s no way back.
You’ve been prescient on Trump for awhile IC.
    Trump will become God.
If a man like Trump can’t do it, picture who could?

    Re the “guys” debate….

Was waiting on the line to ABC Darwin to do an interview about my Sheean book, and the female announcer was having a rant about people being told not to use the word. Reckoned it was ridiculous.

Morrison is even managing to upset the ABC. There is also a post doing the rounds with him as “Lemon of the Year”.

Goodbye Free Speech – all unapproved “counter narratives” will have to be under the counter narratives!

  11. Gab

Perhaps you’re right, Dot. Over here Libertarians want to jail Christian bakers if they refuse to bake cakes for gay “marriages”.

  12. Fisky

Trump would never say that. The only bone Trump threw to Sanders was, “He’s right on trade, although he doesn’t know how to fix it”.

That’s a much better line. Sanders’ heart is in the right place on one issue, but he doesn’t have the competence or knowledge to fix it.

  13. JC

I’ll can try, Adam, but I’m not sure you would understand plain English as you seem to copy and paste a lot.

As a self described scribe, it’s a little embarrassing lifting terms without attribution, no?

I recognised that proximity war buolshit as I’d seen it before and googled it. It comes up more than a few times.

Try and play smart on your own steam instead rifling around trying to look so on the back of others.

    Is that plain enough?

Now answer the question. Are you for free trade or not?

  14. Makka

The Brexit affair is showing the UK just what a weak bunch of spineless a*se kissers they have in Govt. Like here.

Euro Parliament members and their 10’s of thousands of parasite hangers on throughout the various blood sucking EU squib organisations are crapping themselves with fear that their fraudulent scam may indeed be up. A successful UK after the exit (absolutely certain if it happens) will blow away any vestige of credibility they have. A huge dilemma for the totalitarian Socialists who have been promoting and living off their “Single State is the answer for Europe” for decades.

  15. Top Ender

Couple of comments on Morrison from the over 300 Chris Kenny’s article has now received. All of them very negative:

Actually Morrison is doing the concept of Australian of the Year a favour. He’s such a shocker that the selection process must get revised. Mustn’t it?

A super-rich village in Switzerland, one of the wealthiest in Europe, has chosen to pay a fine of 200,000 pounds instead of accepting 10 refugees under the country’s newly imposed quota system.

When did Switzerland join the EU? Why don’t they just tell those socialist totalitarian fucks to bugger off?

  17. goatjam

Sorry, silly me, apparently the Swiss have implemented a quota system of their own. I thought they made it almost impossible for people to migrate there in the past. When did that change?

Signed it, Tinta, just for fun. Then, for some reason, that led me to my Spacechook newsfeed, which I hadn’t logged into for years. What a weird place — a collection of jetsam, all controlled by Zuckerberg’s totalitarian Brown Shirts. Spacechook is handy for family purposes, but I wouldn’t post anything there unless my identity was protected, which they make hard to do.

  19. Fisky

A super-rich village in Switzerland, one of the wealthiest in Europe, has chosen to pay a fine of 200,000 pounds instead of accepting 10 refugees under the country’s newly imposed quota system.

They have probably saved themselves millions of francs. Refugees never improve the budget bottom line.

  20. I recognised that proximity war buolshit as I’d seen it before and googled it. It comes up more than a few times.

A lot of people use it, you dickhead. It’s just about turned into a meme. Using it is not tantamount to claiming it as one’s own. This is such a left-field attack that I can only assume you are projecting.

But it’s hilarious that your only rebuttal to my use of it is to disparage me for using it because I didn’t originally come up with it. You can’t argue the point itself, you have to come up with some weird exclusivity ad hom. Just pathetic.

However, this is your first direct attack on me so I feel that I have arrived somewhat. Must remember to high-five some of the other cool commenters.

Your original question was this .. (watch out! I’m going to copy and paste it! Oh noes!!)

are you free or the fair sort of trade and capital movements.

Your question makes no grammatical sense. I didn’t realize there was a difference between free or fair trade. That is what I was asking, you moron.

As for free trade, I’m all for it. My number one favorite nation state of all time was the Venetian Republic. But nationalism is about protecting your culture and your borders. You can still trade freely while doing so. However, it is not an unusual practice for one country to attack another through the use of trade. There are many historical examples of this. Free trade therefore must always be coupled with the nation’s best interests.

Libertarian loonies like to claim that American growth in the nineteenth century was driven by open borders and that this means the EU has chosen well bringing in millions of rapey hillbillies from the Middle East. But American growth in the nineteenth century was driven almost exclusively by European Christians.

US growth during this period was fuelled by:

    A lack of government regulation
Availability of important resources such as coal and iron
Availability of skilled and motivated manpower
Natural (huge rivers) and man made (railways) means of transporting goods

SH: Well, at the time I was quite devoted. I went to church every day-it was not mandatory, but I went anyway. I was very Catholic. I’m very not right now.

    MC: Why?

SH: The minute I started thinking it through, I realized all religions are a form of manipulation. And I started having problems with certain beliefs-like in Africa, where people are dying of AIDS and overpopulation, the Catholic Church is going over to convert them and take away the condoms! And I said, wait a minute . . .

    MC: So-

SH: So I don’t believe in the institution. I still believe in Jesus Christ. I believe in God. Also, I don’t like the way the Bible views women-this thing about the Virgin Mary conceiving a child without having sex-so if you conceive a child by having sex, there’s a subliminal message that there’s something dirty about it. And this is what makes us divine-I mean, the possibility of creating another life should remind women that we are creators, that we are made like God in our ability. There is nothing greater than to create another human being.

These clowns still don’t get it do they? ONE of the reasons for the live trade, in the first place, was that the Australian chilled meat industry had largely priced itself out of existence, thanks to the hard left Meat workers Union……..

Balderdash. The live trade developed to meet the demand for live animal exports due to cultural, religious and infrastructure reasons. It is complementary to the chilled meat industry.

    It begins.
SBS News had a story this evening on the big push (from the usual Nazis, including the AMA) to crack down on alcohol throughout Australia. Total advertising bans, minimum prices, national lock-out laws, labeling controls, the whole works. They claim, hilariously, that all of this will ‘save’ 30,000 lives a year. The word “policing” featured prominently.
So yeah. All you people who laughed off anti-smoking laws and policing measures because you don’t smoke – they’re now coming for you.

  101. Bruce of Newcastle

    Stop live exports, say Greens

Stupendous irony. The live export industry is largely to muslim countries. Because they want to ritually slaughter the animals in a halal way which completely eliminates the hated kaffir.

    The muslims are Greens allies.

So the Greens want to screw their bloodthirsty friends. Meanwhile the Greens have no problem with massacring birds and bats in their millions by way of wind turbines.

Australian of the Year and former Army chief David Morrison says the term “guys” should no longer be used in workplaces.

The retired Lieutenant General is today launching a new Diversity Council Australia video which aims to crack down on language which excludes minority groups.

“Exclusive language, gender-based language or inappropriate language, has as much a deleterious or disadvantaged effect as something where you’re saying something blatantly inappropriate to another human being,” General Morrison told ABC News Breakfast.

You have got to be shitting me. This is taking political correctness to a whole new level.

The campaign also…calls for the word “gay” not to be used in a negative fashion, and strongly discourages the use of other offensive terms.

OMG that is truly revolutionary stuff. A campaign to strongly discourage offensive terms. BTW, how does one use ‘gay’ in a negative fashion?

General Morrison said he was now trying to stop using the word “guys” when speaking to groups of people.

“I have now removed that from my lexicon as best I can, I think it’s important.”

Oh fuck off you ineffectual, finger-wagging nanny. I think it’s important to emphasise the embarrassment you are to the ADF.

    Former Army chief shows courage:

The former head of the Australian Army has called for the full exoneration of soldiers involved in a disastrous raid in Afghanistan that resulted in the deaths of five children.

Lieutenant General Ken Gillespie says the two commandos charged with manslaughter over the 2009 assault not only deserve to have the sheet wiped clean, but also a commendation for their service.

“I think anybody who puts on a uniform for our country and goes to places like Afghanistan and confronts all of the uncertainty and risk that comes operating there … is worthy of commendation,” the Lieutenant General said.

    “Including them.”

Lieutenant General Gillespie’s comments follow an episode of ABC’s Australian Story in which one of the men charged over the road spoke out for the first time.

“Corporal W” told the program the accusation had a “massive impact psychologically” on him, and despite the charges being rejected by a military judge, he has continued to suffer because he has never been officially declared innocent.

His feelings were echoed by Geoff Evans, a former commando involved in the raid.

“Unfortunately narratives were allowed to exist that said we’d just murdered those children,” he said.

“Defence never made any attempt to correct the record, so we really wanted the facts of the case to come out.”

The details of precisely what transpired during that night in February more than seven years ago remain top secret, but Corporal W says while he received a written apology from members of the top brass, the official record must be expunged.

Lieutenant General Gillespie agrees that now is the time to close the chapter on what has been a difficult time for the men involved.

“I think there is an opportunity for those people to be brought in and spoken to by the Chief of the Defence Force and others, if that’s what’s needed for them to get on with their lives,” he said.

You should listen to Tom Woods and how he feels on Gary Johnson’s constant tendency to apologize with his whole outreach schtick.

I have what I consider a rational explanation. It’s a lot easier to find a problem than it is to come up with a solution to that problem. That said, if no one ever bothers pointing out the problem then you can forget about making any steps towards solving it.

Some of Bernie’s greivances (e.g. “starvation wages”) are complete crap, but he is tapping into genuine discontent. Needless to say, socialism has been tested in similar situations and failed, so quite likely repeating the test won’t discover anything new. That said, people do recognize that what they have been trying doesn’t work, which in turn gets them thinking along the lines of trying something new.

ABC needs to bring down Labor because the polls are 50/50. They love M Turnbull and rest hopes on his progressive policies if he is elected.
    M. Turnbull is cultured and progressive etc, heading towards a republic at first opportunity. All the ABC and Fairfax types dream of. He likes opera. He is sleek and smart and technology focussed, green focussed, future stuff.

The working class and their travails don’t figure into it and Bill Shorten must be crushed.

This is why I am so angry:
Yesterday required the purchase of a new washing machine.
It needed to fit in the back of the wagon for immediate use.
This limited my choice to a small machine. I found one and played it cool with the salesman, looking up the online reviews. Hmmmmmmm. Lots of one stars.
Never mind. It was the only top loader in the shop that I could get into the back of the car.
I cleverly negotiated 10% off the retail price, congratulating myself as the man helped me load it up.
This was when I noticed the 15% off all washing machines sign.
At home I decided to save effort by replacing the wash- house and toilet linoleum while the machine was out.
Having wrestled with lino in this space before I knew this required care, precision and patience.
I measured carefully twice and traced the outline onto the new lino.
Careful cutting with a Stanley knife, leaving a little extra for trimming around doorways, and I was looking with satisfaction at the new lino.
Into the laundry with it. Perfect.
Almost. It was slightly skewed along the back wall. No matter, I have a bit of extra to play with: this is why a smart man leaves a bit of leeway when cutting.
I pulled the lino around to square it up. Good.
Only now it was a bit off the adjoining toilet wall.
No matter. I can fix that.
I’m lying on the floor, bracing the lino in the laundry with my feet, and pulling it toward the far toilet wall.
Great. Now there is a gap along the back door.
I am out the back door tugging the lino with both hands, swearing mildly. I can fix this. I’m a fixer. I’m a fucking fixer.
The lino seems to want to pivot around the wall between the two rooms. I believe some judicious cutting will relieve the issue.
    FUCK!
I have cut too much off.
Doesn’t matter. I can cover that up with silicon later.
There is now a bulge in the lino in the doorway between the rooms.
I grab one edge of the lino in one hand, put my left foot down on the toilet side to stop that edge rotating around, using my right foot to thump the loose lino toward the back laundry wall, whilst bracing myself on the laundry tub with my other hand.
After I pick myself up on the floor I notice the issue seems to have resolved itself. Good. I can start trimming the extra off along the partition wall.
    Done. Now into the toilet.
    Shit!!!
The issue had not resolved. There was now a massive gap in the toilet along the adjoining wall.
I grab the hammer and some nails, and pull the lino back to the toilet wall and nail it down.
    Now the bulge is back.
I stand there waving my arms at the lino and swearing.
    I need to calm down.
I will leave the linoleum for now and fit the washing machine.
Hoses on. Plugged in. Regular cycle. Cold water. Go!
Is there anything better than the first use of a brand new appliance? I perk up, and even begin whistling a little tune.
    Buzzzzzzzz. Gurgle. Beep. Beep. Beep.
    Error.
How can this happen? It is a new machine. How? How? How?
It sits there refusing to do its job. Beeping and sneering at me.
I am now incandescent with rage. I scream at it in a whisper so as not to distress the four year old.
“Fuck fuck, fucking fucking fucking goddamn fucking fuck fuck fuck…”
I am stuck in a swearing loop, shaking my fists at the arrogant white lump, I shape up to it and give it a shove.
Eventually, I pick it up and put it back in the car along with the four year old.
Driving back toward the shop I see in a flash myself hurling the machine through the shop window. Immediately I also see the police loading me into a divvy van and taking the four year old away.

“Arky, you need to calm down. You will talk nicely and calmly to that salesman. If you get no satisfaction you will walk away”. I council myself.
“Yes”. I agree with me. “But Arky, you know us, when a sudden rage hits us, we do and say things without any control”.
“Listen, you fucking c*nt, you will calm the fuck down and act like a Goddamn human being for once in your life you stupid, stupid man”.
I finish the journey in silence, refusing to talk to myself.
    At the shop.
The salesman is remarkably apologetic and helpful.
But there are no other top loaders that will fit in the back of the wagon.
My eye falls on the front loaders I cannot afford right now.
He gives me a great deal, $200 off retail. I can almost afford this.
As we load the new machine into the car he tells me: “This isn’t like the top loader, you will need two people to move it”. Feeling the weight, I agree. Must be fifty kilos.
Driving off, I feel very relieved. That went so much better than I expected, and I have a good deal on a good machine.
“See, Arky, when you stay calm, talk nicely to people, good things can happen”. I smiled at the four year old and cranked up the radio.
The last set of lights before home.
The car lurched forward on the green.
    Crash.
I looked in the rear mirror.
The washing machine had taken out the rear hatch window. Broken chunks of glass dripped from the back of my car onto the road.
“There sure is some weight in this thing” I thought as I lifted the washing machine up the steps, little shards of glass bouncing off my arms.

VIENNA (Reuters) – Far-right parties in some European countries are winning over Jewish voters by exploiting fears about militant Islamists and mainstream parties must do much more to address Europeans’ security concerns, a Jewish leader said on Tuesday.

Boosted by Europe’s migrant crisis, Norbert Hofer of Austria’s anti-immigration Freedom Party only narrowly lost the country’s presidential election on May 22. He would have been the first far-right head of state in the European Union.

“I understand that, most probably, a not insignificant part of the (Jewish) community here voted for Hofer for the presidency,” the head of the Conference of European Rabbis (CER), Pinchas Goldschmidt, told Reuters in an interview.

Goldschmidt, who is also the chief rabbi of Moscow, said he had received reports of a similar shift among French Jews towards supporting the anti-immigration National Front ahead of presidential and parliamentary elections next year in France.

“When God gave out intelligence, not everybody stood in line. And so when those parties come with a populist message to the Jews and say ‘We’re going to save you from the Muslims’ … propaganda is effective,” he added.

Freedom Party leader Heinz-Christian Strache visited the Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial in Jerusalem in April – a gesture rich in symbolism, given the Nazis’ role in Austrian history and the flight or murder of most Austrian Jews following the country’s annexation by Adolf Hitler in 1938.

“Not only from the Freedom Party in Austria but also from the side of, for example, the National Front in France … and also (Geert) Wilders in Holland, they all seem to want us Jews to say they are acceptable,” Goldschmidt said.

FRANCE MAKING PAYMENTS FOR TERRORISTS’ SALARIES
Decision comes as warning issued for potential attack this summer
    Published: 11 hours ago

In just the last year or so, a man yelling “Allahu Akbar”attacked a police station in Tours, France. Then there were back-to-back attacks by drivers yelling “Allahu Akbar” who drove into crowds nearby. And there were the Charlie Hebdo jihadist attacks that killed 12.

In the middle of last year, an Islamic terrorist attacked a couple of churches in France, and a delivery driver decapitated a man in another attack. Four were injured in an attempted mass shooting on a train to Paris and some 130 people were killed in coordinated attacks in Paris in November.

Now, the U.S. State Department has warned of possible terror attacks in France during this summer’s Euro 2016 soccer tournament.

“The large number of tourists visiting Europe in the summer months will present greater targets for terrorists planning attacks in public locations, especially at large events,” said the agency. “Euro Cup stadiums, fan zones, and unaffiliated entertainment venues broadcasting the tournaments in France and across Europe represent potential targets for terrorists, as do other large-scale sporting events and public gathering places throughout Europe.”

Nevertheless, France continues to contribute to a fund paying salaries to jailed murderers.

Allow me to recommend alcohol, as means of solving your problem. A bottle of good white wine over the first course of dinner, followed by a bottle of good red – a pinot noir or a Shiraz – over the main course. Half a bottle of port after dinner, followed by three or four double Scotches. The washing machine will assume it’s true perspective in the scheme of things.

No, this is “balderdash” I used to work in an Abattoir, Wally Curan and his left wing fucktards took the number of workers in the meat industry from around 75,000 to around 10,000 over the course of 20 years. It is vastly more efficient to ship carcasses than live animals and the muzzies aren’t that fussy when they don’t have an option.
