One photo is worth a thousand words.

In this case, those words are not for delicate ears.

Julie Bishop – Backstabber Extraordinaire – part of the Turdbull Labor Elite

  3. Up The Workers!

How is he going to save the planet?

He couldn’t even save his own hairline!

  4. .

    “Protecting our oceans” – WTF?!

In the last few years we’ve seen plans to shut down the GBR, refuse to licence scientifically proven sustainable commercial fishing and shaft recreational fishers.

The people who babble on about this shit know nothing about fishing let alone marine biology.

  5. miltonf

Who do they think they are fooling? Do they really believe this?

  6. miltonf

Certainly not the Liberal Party of Sir Henry Bolte anymore.

  7. candy

Perhaps not so much about “protecting” oceans but Ms Bishop keeping busy and photographed looked svelte and fashionable. She’s equal footing as preferred PM according to Essential, one of the only two reliable polling companies we seem to have. I can believe that.

  8. John64

It would be interesting to calculate how many million Tonnes of deadly ocean-warming CO2 is belched out every year by all activities associated with the Monaco Grand Prix.

  9. Bela Bartok

… and they wonder why Trump won, blasting the political elites as being ‘out of touch’ and ‘not representative’? Where’s our AusTrump? Gerry Harvey? Lew Solomon (actually, this is fun…), Gina Rinehart Ohhhh yes….

  10. Andrew

Here I was thinking COP22 was about the atmosphere and had nothing at all to do with oceans (which are big enough to take care of themselves).

Anyhow it’s good news – Bitchop is ensuring she will never be PM.

    Climate models for lawyers

    by Judith Curry

I have been asked to write an Expert Report on climate models.

No, I can’t tell you the context for this request (at this time, anyways). But the audience is lawyers.

Here are the specific questions I have been asked to respond to:

What is a Global Climate Model (GCM)?
What is the reliability of climate models?
What are the failings of climate models?

Are GCM’s are a reliable tool for predicting climate change?

The Report is worth a read

When are we going to pull our jet setting, UN smitten, bureaucratic, world hob nobbing career politicians out of the planes that , according to them, create the pollution they declare to be fighting, as an excuse for their tax payer funded high life on the world stage of cretins and parasites, and kick their arses until their nose bleeds?
Then stick them in a small room and show them what a computer is.
If they can’t work it, then show them a phone.
Not one flight or dinner is necessary.
Trump has already calmed the threat of a third world war by talking to Putin on the phone.
What the bloody hell does this ridiculous bint from an over taxed, indebted government, irrelevance of a country, think she is doing jetsetting around on our dime?
You and your sort, will pay for this one day, you disgusting traitorous, self indulged, parasite JB.

    It’s called Risk Management.

Julie Bishop clearly assigns a very high probability to the Coalition being out on its arse and confined to the wilderness of the Permanent Loyal Opposition, like the Victorian Libs, after the next election.

She is now applying for every UN, internationalist-type job going. If she tosses another $100 mill of taxpayer-borrowed money at that Clinton slush-fund NGO that Julia Gillard bought herself a seat at, we know it is pretty much all over bar the mandatory attendance at the polling booths.

It’s a pity there is no easy way to turn Bishop’s frantic job search in to an Index – it would probably give us a better probability on the scale of the rout at the next election than the betting markets.

  14. Philippa Martyr

    Backlighting is very important.

  15. Up The Workers!

    Your taxes at work!

Good to see Bishop Julie, representing Goldman Sachs, along with a cast of hundreds of hungry Public Serpents, at this week’s champagne and caviar, ‘International Eco Gob-Stuffing Pig-Out’ in Marrakesh, no less.

I trust that the limos’ had the blinds drawn so the delegates didn’t have to see any of the beggars and peasants on the trip between the airport and the luxury hotels – it does spoil the appetite somewhat, for lobster and caviar.

Pity about all those desolate oceans bereft of life, which they jetted over in their journey. The oceans were killed off by the exhaust gasses emitted by both the jets and their bloviating passengers, flying at taxpayers’ expense, to LAST years’ International Eco Gob-Stuffing Pig-Out.

Might have to stage a repeat next year – perhaps in Monaco? – to decide (at taxpayers’ expense) how to fix the damage done to the oceans by the jet exhaust gasses put out by all the attendees at THIS years’ Pig-Out.

  16. Protect the oceans from what exactly?
Must be looking for a replacement for Overlord of the Oceans as he is out of office in 65 days and counting.

  17. Myrddin Seren

Just catching up with the Open Form.

    From stackja at 7:32:

Global $100 Billion Climate-Fight Pledges May Survive Trump Era
    Bloomberg – ?8 minutes ago?
Industrial nations are looking at how to deliver on a pledge to provide $100 billion a year in climate-related aid even if U.S. President-Elect Donald Trump follows through on his pledge to stop supporting the fight against global warming.

Given Australia’s stumbling lurch in to de-industrialisation, I am not sure we should be counted in this group.

However, I have no doubt Turnbull and Bishop will make huge efforts with taxpayer-borrowed money to do the heavy lifting that The Donald wont.

Before they both flee overseas, like Gillard and Rudd before them, leaving the smouldering wreckage of Veneztralia behind as the plane disappears over the horizon.

    We are utterly screwed.

  18. Judith Sloan

I wonder how many Australian public servants are also attending – on full TA, business class airfares etc. Junket doesn’t really come close.

  19. Tintarella Di Luna

Julie Bitchop the Overexercised albino Biafran watermelon seller, good to see she’s refrained from exhibiting the skinned-rabbit twins. What a waste of space

  20. iain russell

Struth – this ‘government’ is overtaxing rather than overtaxed. Overtaxed?! It’s done SFA about anything of any value, such as crushing the ABC and the AHRC, sacking Triggs and gutting the CFMEU. Or holding a reffo/plebo/whatevero over SSM.

  21. Bruce of Newcastle

The best way to protect the oceans is to boot the green-left NGOs out of the country.
Then foster and encourage a massive expansion of aquaculture, which will displace dynamite fishing, long-lining and trawling.
The Greens oppose aquaculture. As usual they say they’re protecting the oceans but the result is worse than if they shut up and did nothing.
Did I say boot the Greens out of the country? Yep, them too.

  22. pete m

Old mate Prince is very interested in oceans being protected so his superyacht owning buddies can enjoy the pristine waters.

What JB has to do with that is anyone’s guess.

  23. Myrddin Seren

What JB has to do with that is anyone’s guess.

Cultivating One Vote from Monaco for J. Bishop – Candidate for Head of ( insert hugely well paid, Paris-based UN, World Bank, Clinton Crime Family-type post-politics gig )

  24. JohnA

OH COME ON … protecting our oceans. Prince Albert of Monaco?????

Of course. The oceans have to be protected so that all those luxury yachts can sail unimpeded to Monte Carlo – those special yachts with names like Clinton Foundation, Robinson Foundation, Soros Foundation: all doing important scientific work, dontcha know…

  25. JohnA

    Do I really need a /sarc tag?

May I too plead for this presentation to be widely disseminated and read. It is comprehensive and intelligible.

    I agree.
It was a poorly constructed sentence on my part, as the rage inside of me , took control of me in ways I would rather not go into.

What the bloody hell does this ridiculous bint from an over taxed, BY AN indebted government, irrelevance of a country, think she is doing jetsetting around on our dime?

Not fixed properly but it’s better.

  29. iain russell

    Struth, understood!

  30. Fibro

He has his investment to protect.

  31. marcus w

EGG …. despite her backstabbing and treachery that thought is still enough to see me through the day .mmmm

  32. Megan

    “My worthy lord
Your noble friends do lack you”

So she is making up for it in true Lady Macbeth fashion. This photo fills me with rage too, struth.

  33. Nelson Kidd-Players

Everyone needs a hobby. The Monaco royal family have long had an interest in oceans.

Julie Bishop seems to enjoy the hobnobbing, though I’m not so comfortable about classifying it as her hobby.

  34. Fitter of East Melbourne

Someone either tie some ballast to this lightweight selfie-addict to stop her blowing away in the breeze, or else give her an umbrella and proclaim her the world’s new Mary Poppins.

  35. wozzup

The bit they left off was “committed to protecting our oceans……….by not emptying the sewerage tank on his gigantic royal yacht whilst at sea.”

  36. J.H.

“Using Taxpayer money under false pretenses”, is probably a better description….. Doesn’t quite have the heroic overtones of “Protecting our Oceans”, but it is more factually correct.

…. at least Batman used his own money to protect Gotham City.

  37. Combine Dave

Anyone who votes for the LNP with Turnbull and Bishop in charge has rocks in their head!

  38. Neenee

It’s all about the photo ops for Madam Defarge. A legacy of selfies.

Another souvenir to put in her legacy cabinet along with the tax-payer funded $30,000 entry to the Mile High Club.

  39. john constantine

Will get her votes with the ‘couchwhales of waleed’ crowd.

Lady Skeletor can beat the shortfilth, he has her outflanked on the right, but a lot of votes shorten can take off turnmerkel would not leave ‘the loyal deputy that could’

  40. Boambee John

    struth at 0946,

It made me feel better also.

  41. Viva

Bishop’s comment probably references the fact that in 1957, Prince Rainier of Monaco made famed oceanographer JacquesCousteau the director of the world’s oldest undersea museum and research centre, the Oceanographic Museum of Monte Carlo.

  42. cui bono

JB and the Oceans? She don’t want to go down with that ship’o’fools known as the Turnbull Team.

  43. serene tiger

    what he (struth 9:43) said!

  44. Robbo

I’ve got a fair idea that my house block is bigger than Monaco. Bishop can come to my place and have a photo op with me and I’ll tell the media my views on protecting our oceans. That would have as much relevance as her Monaco twitter and it would be a hell of a lot cheaper.
