Our Fidel

I received the following email from the Cuban Embassy, the reaction to the news of Castro’s death starkly different to that in Miami. It seems there may be a special homage tax.

Fidel, the Commander in Chief, the leader of the Cuban Revolution, our Fidel, has died in Havana this Friday at 10:29pm. Cuba weeps for him, but also thanks to him for having 90 years, because with him the island and the Revolution became a place on the map of this world. We will miss you, Commander, and we will always love you, as we will defend this Revolution that you raised with the poor of your land.

Raul’s words: “Today November 25, at 10:29 pm, the Commander-in-Chief of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro Ruz died.” In compliance with the expressed will of Fidel, his remains will be cremated. Saturday morning, the organizing committee of the funeral will provide our people with detailed information on the organization of the posthumous Homage that will be taxed to the founder of the Cuban Revolution. Until always, Commander.

    Crikey!

When did Juliar’s mate, Goebbels McTurdan start writing codswallop for Cuba?

  2. Eyrie

Yeah, he raised a revolution with the poor of THEIR land(not his) and made sure they stayed poor by killing as many as necessary to do so.
    Murdering commie sons of bitches.

    Good morning Lucius,

OT, but how is that whole “accept the outcome of the election” thing going in the US?

Good to see the D’rats standing behind long tradition, isn’t it? Joined, of course, by those respecters of democracy, the Greenslime.

  4. Crossie

    Homage that will be taxed

Now that is a death tax.

I suppose it’s to make sure the tears are genuine.

  5. Robbo

Good bloody riddance to another tinpot dictator who nearly brought us WW3.

  6. Cradock's Choice

I danced a little happy dance at the news that the unspeakable, murdering thieving totalitarian scumbag had died.

The Devil he blew upon his nails, and the little devils ran,
And he said: “Go husk this whimpering thief that comes in the guise of a man:
Winnow him out ‘twixt star and star, and sieve his proper worth:
There’s sore decline in Adam’s line if this be spawn of earth.”
Empusa’s crew, so naked-new they may not face the fire,
But weep that they bin too small to sin to the height of their desire,
Over the coal they chased the Soul, and racked it all abroad,
As children rifle a caddis-case or the raven’s foolish hoard.
And back they came with the tattered Thing, as children after play,
And they said: “The soul that he got from God he has bartered clean away.
We have threshed a stook of print and book, and winnowed a chattering wind
And many a soul wherefrom he stole, but his we cannot find:
We have handled him, we have dandled him, we have seared him to the bone,
And sure if tooth and nail show truth he has no soul of his own.”

    Good riddance.

I suppose all the Cubans that fled from Castro’s infamy and settled in the US, will joyously return to Cuban after feeling insular from Trump’s reported insults during the election?

It seems Trudeau’s statement has been picked as the most ridiculous.

  9. Dr Fred Lenin

You people are awfull ,criticising the beloved Fiddle Castoroil ,no mention of his great work preserving 1950s US cars ,turning Havana into a colourfull tourist destination full of recently created ruins . It was a great holiday destination for people from the old Soviet Bloc ,you only slept five to a room ,and the shops had two items in the windows Sugar and big cigars not available in the Soviet WORKERS Paradise created k by the Russian form of the green alp . So do some research before you attack this great u,n,communist hero iiwho emulated his hero Ulyanov ( Lenin) by stealing a genuine Peoples Revolution .and perverting it for his own ends . Can I say ” burn in Hell comrade ” ? The commuunist RIP .

Compare and Contrast: DONALD TRUMP vs OBAMA on Tyrant Fidel Castro’s Death

Statement by the President on the Passing of Fidel Castro

At this time of Fidel Castro’s passing, we extend a hand of friendship to the Cuban people. We know that this moment fills Cubans – in Cuba and in the United States – with powerful emotions, recalling the countless ways in which Fidel Castro altered the course of individual lives, families, and of the Cuban nation. History will record and judge the enormous impact of this singular figure on the people and world around him.

For nearly six decades, the relationship between the United States and Cuba was marked by discord and profound political disagreements. During my presidency, we have worked hard to put the past behind us, pursuing a future in which the relationship between our two countries is defined not by our differences but by the many things that we share as neighbors and friends – bonds of family, culture, commerce, and common humanity. This engagement includes the contributions of Cuban Americans, who have done so much for our country and who care deeply about their loved ones in Cuba.

Today, we offer condolences to Fidel Castro’s family, and our thoughts and prayers are with the Cuban people. In the days ahead, they will recall the past and also look to the future. As they do, the Cuban people must know that they have a friend and partner in the United

    President-Elect Donald J. Trump Statement

“Today, the world marks the passing of a brutal dictator who oppressed his own people for nearly six decades. Fidel Castro’s legacy is one of firing squads, theft, unimaginable suffering, poverty and the denial of fundamental human rights.

“While Cuba remains a totalitarian island, it is my hope that today marks a move away from the horrors endured for too long, and toward a future in which the wonderful Cuban people finally live in the freedom they so richly deserve.

“Though the tragedies, deaths and pain caused by Fidel Castro cannot be erased, our administration will do all it can to ensure the Cuban people can finally begin their journey toward prosperity and liberty. I join the many Cuban Americans who supported me so greatly in the presidential campaign, including the Brigade 2506 Veterans Association that endorsed me, with the hope of one day soon seeing a free Cuba.”

It’s going to be good to have a president elect who knows the difference between good and evil once again.

Anybody got a preferred link to share with lefties that do not believe that castro deployed nearly half a million men over decades to rape and plunder in Africa?.

A link to the best indication of the resource wealth that flowed from the blood plunder of Africa to their cuban elite?.

The way that castro Aids tested all the soldiers that went to africa and locked up the positive ones?. the way that cubas official aids rates are low because castro locked up gays with aids and went testing for anybody suspicious?.

Dead now, so hardly worth speaking the truth, but lefties don’t understand that castro was not just wealthy because of his billion, but because he had the entire resources of the whole island to consume at his whim, and the right to kill by firing squad any that denied him.
Like gaddafi, all the girls let him grab their hoohas because they just naturally found him a middle aged sex magnet, not because of the power imbalance.

Fidel Castro murdered thousands – including homosexuals for BEING homosexuals, it’s worth pointing out – destroyed his country’s economy, locked up anybody that dared to protest, and attempted to start a nuclear war.

    He’s a hero.

Trump said something over a decade ago about ‘pussy’. He’s a monster – in fact, ‘literally’ Hitler.

(On a side note: anyone who seeks to lecture you about politics, but fails even to understand what ‘literally’ means – ignore them. You don’t need them in your life. Literally.)

Raul is cashing in. Looks like the family dictatorship is raking it in.

We should redesignate most of our nurses as Doctors. Thats what the Cubans have done.

Castro dead. Black armbands for all ABC personnel + the Leftie crew at SKY.

Gone to mass murderer’s final resting place to join Joseph and the “Chairman” yet those of Australia’s Left still give him hero status.

    Sick fuggs!

    Castro dead on Pinochet’s birthday.

    So good.

  18. Infidel Tiger

    That is beautiful symmetry!

Pinochet was the 20th Century’s most magnificent bastard.

A giant of the best kind.

  19. Pat Warnock

He plunged his country deeper and deeper into poverty. He crushed all opposition. I still remember the fear engendered by the Cuban missile crisis where we came near to nuclear war, we were standing around in the Ingham High School staff room waiting and we were afraid. No wonder the lucky ones cheered.

    john constantine;

Don’t know about “links”, but I have a few book recommendations.

    1. “South Africa’s Border War, 1966-1989”, by Willem Steenkamp, Ashanti Publishing, Gibraltar, 1989.

    2. “Challenge; Southern Africa within the African Revolutionary context”, Edited by Al Venter, Ashanti Publishing.

There are a few more on my shelves, but those are good for starters.

    3. “Nine Days of War; Namibia – before, during and after”, Peter Stiff, Lemur Book, Alberton, South Africa.

  21. john constantine

Thanks for the links, it is bemusing to see young lefties simply go blank when the cuban wars in Africa are mentioned, they have no frame of reference to process the concept of teenage cuban conscripts paid ten bucks a year and all the young african girls they could grab to fight in cubas decades long grab for oil, gold and diamonds.

A relative of mine visited Cuba a couple of years ago and brought back an English-language copy of the official Cuban Communist Party newspaper, ‘Granma’

I had never seen anything like it, one long, sub-cerebral rant about wonderful Castro/Cuba and bad, int alia, America. Devoid of information, analysis, literary talent, anything slightly interesting, let alone amusing, it must have been a chore to read. I’ve seen a lot of Communist and socialist propaganda, but nothing as crass or unintelligent as this, it made Vietnamese Communist publications look subtle and nuanced by comparison.

It was straight of of thirties USSR – yet I’ve never actually seen anything from that period quite so clumsy – , and yet this was published in 2009. It gave me some idea of the crudity and banality of official Cuba.

  23. Tekweni

One of my family spent time in Cuba on a diplomatic mission. She is a lefty but objective and her description of the healthcare in Cuba was pretty damning. Reminded me of the Red Cross visiting those concentration camps set up by the Nazis to show how well the Jews were treated.

The Democrats, when they incorrectly thought they were going to win, asked that the election night tabulation be accepted. Not so anymore!

Raúl Castro says: “La comisión organizadora de los funerales brindará a nuestro pueblo una información detallada sobre la organización del homenaje póstumo que se le tributará al fundador de la Revolución Cubana.”

So no special tax, just “the posthumous homage that will be paid to the founder of the Cuban revolution…”
