If only we were as smart as they are

The reality is that the left is more obtuse, less informed and cruelly indifferent to the social and political fates of those into whose hands entire nations fall. Vide Cuba and Venezuela for recent examples. What follows is typical snide and superior non-humour from the left: Conan’s Spoof Phone Calls Between Barack Obama And Donald Trump Will Never Get Old

What if Donald Trump kept bugging Barack Obama for advice?

Conan O’Brien imagines the kind of things the president-elect may be asking the current commander in chief in a series of hilarious spoof telephone calls.

From questioning whether Kazakhstan is a meat dish to complaining about the length of the Mexican border, Obama is luckily on hand to answer each of Trump’s queries.

These are the headings of the issues Trump will need assistance from Obama to deal with. The list is typical of the left’s ideological vision since they must imagine these are areas Obama has handled with aplomb and distinction.

1 On Presidential Medals Of Honor And Kazakhstan
2 On Gifts, Candy And The Mexican Border
3 On The Nuclear Codes, Iran And Jackie Chan
4 On Taiwan And The State Of The Union Address
5 On Time’s ‘Person Of The Year’ And The Mexican Wall

They have lost for now, but their self-contained ignorance makes them perennially dangerous. They have no sources of information outside their self-constructed bubbles and refuse to let any shards of reality disturb their information flow.

The most depressing part is that this article has been sent to me by an old school friend who has lived in California for the past thirty year or so, and sees this as a perfect representation of the actual Donald Trump. I have been trying to warn him off this stuff but he has continued it through since the election of GWB, always assuming I am in complete agreement with the things he sends. It is, in itself, their inability even to slightly appreciate that there are other points of view that may be the most tragic part in dealing with such people.

A delusion of intellectual superiority is part of the pathology of leftism. Every one of them I’ve ever met has carried this symptom, and been as dumb as dogshit, incapable of independent thought.

  2. BorisG

Maybe I should have said ‘some on the left’.

Seems to me a bigger story might be how Russia infiltrated US cyber systems while our President was on Jimmy Kimmel reading mean tweets.

Anyone who assumes all think the same way as losers in a democracy, really are incredibly thick.
    There is no other explanation.
    There cannot be another explanation.

Bless you for being tolerant, Steve, but there comes a point where one must surely “shake the dust off one’s feet” before such people.

  6. Bruce of Newcastle

Trump has been in business his whole life doing real stuff.
Obama has been in SJWarfare his whole life.
Somehow I don’t think Barack will be schooling Donald.

Have not watched Conan for a long time but Stephen Colbert is an example of a show designed to upset half its potential viewers. No balance at all in their mocking. Possibly because they frequently have Barrack and Michelle and Hilary as guests.

  8. Isn’t this the same Conan who kept a perfectly straight face when Al Gore, having just written a book on the subject, explained that the temperature of the Earth’s interior is millions of degrees? (Al also said that geothermal was a new thing. That would surprise a lot of retired geothermal engineers. And maybe their great grandfathers, who were starting to pipe geothermal in places like Idaho and Tuscany around the turn of the 20th century.)

Yep. It’s the same Conan: funny as a root canal, smug, patronising…and wrong.

  9. The institutions must be dis-infested, particularly all educational institutions. It all starts at school.

The left have never been in a battleground of ideas, the left have been a battle for communist supremacy by any means.

Moso – Mr Second Chakra has a sequel to Inconvenient Fake News coming out in January.
Expect it to be shown to school kids over and over and over before they reach age 18 and thus finally escape from their SJW teachers.

Saddened to read this on Andrew Bolt’s blog this morning – “Pope’s academy tells priests to teach global warming”. The mindset which won’t countenance contrary views on that score is likeminded too on many of the issues post-modernism has thrown up to bedevil western traditions. Can’t see that this won’t end in tears.

  13. Tapdog

‘……It is, in itself, their inability even to slightly appreciate that there are other points of view………’

Bolt should consider that cultural truism and stop wringing his hands about the hypocrisy and intellectual vacuity of the left. His self indulgence gives them wriggle room to dismiss his comments as ‘hate speech’

The left have latched onto the “fake news” meme but it’s just a riff on the idea that stupid rednecks elected Trump. Now it’s, “of course, they were tricked into voting for him by fake news! Those idiots!”

Fuck off, the left. You stupid arrogant shitheels.

As far as fake news go… It’s true there was lots of fake news that came out during the election. The massive proportion though came from the Left. There also was also a tiny bit of fake news from the Right though. I won’t go to Breibart for that reason for instance. A couple of times they published what I thought was bullshit.

The amazing thing about the Trump Ascendancy is the refusal of the Clinton Numpty Network and the rest of the running dog media to even recognise the sound thrashing the Dems received in the other elections, House, Senate, Governors. Simply mazin’!

the refusal of the Clinton Numpty Network and the rest of the running dog media to even recognise the sound thrashing the Dems received in the other elections, House, Senate, Governors. Simply mazin’!

I’m not about that. They held onto the Senate and House, but only just. The presidency was won on a statistical fluke…. a good one but a fluke all the same.

Sure they did win in the state elections, but the map shows the Red states are more numerous. The D’rats do hold the larger proportion of the population’s support, which is terrible.

  23. S

“Bless you for being tolerant, Steve” may be the funniest thing ever posted on this website.

  24. BorisG

Why JC it is terrible. America is divided. Deeply divided.

As far as I am concerned, they had two terrible candidate, and many of us could hardly decide who was worse. We more or less know where Clinton would go. Obama #3 with some adjustments. Trump may be much better but can also be much worse.

Many poeple are happy because many people want change. But where this change will lead is still completely unclear.

New York is a ‘sanctuary city’ currently being fucked up by a kkkrat called blasio. He stopped the horses in the park the prick.

Trump can’t stop sanctuary cities but he can stop sending Federal money.

And guess what, Rudi is sitting their to take NY back.

Arny is already part of the Apprentice franchise and does the ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ crap. Guess what. He’ll be supported to take California back.

And Silicon Valley will have their hand in the pocket of the Fed cut at the elbow.

How about the most derogatory description of middle America…”Flyover Country” How bloody elitist are the pricks living in their enclaves. Granted, there are millions of them, but to denigrate the many more million living where the wealth is created. America needs to wake up and get back in touch….Get off the interstate!

  29. A Lurker

Quote: “It is, in itself, their inability even to slightly appreciate that there are other points of view that may be the most tragic part in dealing with such people.”

The thing about being a Conservative in a world dominated by Socialist/Regressive ideology is that we need only log into the internet, listen to our radios, turn on a television set, go to the movies, read a newspaper, or attend a school or university etc., in order to be inundated in their point of views and ideology.

A Socialist/Regressive on the other hand would have to deliberately search out true Conservative ideas because Conservative ideas and ideology has and is deliberately buried and marginalised by the Socialist elite.

It is no wonder then Steve, that your friend assumes that you think like him – because, in his world, Conservative opinion or thought simply does not exist.

  30. .

Trump’s rumoured Cabinet picks make me realise he has been watching politics for far longer and in much more detail than these late night hacks.

  31. Crossie

The current behaviour of the disappointed lefties should be designated The Pauline Kael Syndrome.

  32. Crossie

“Trump has been in business his whole life doing real stuff.”

And probably had to deal with this sort of lefty nonsense all his working life. From what I understand he usually paid off the ones in power. I hope he doesn’t do the same after 20th January.

“Pope’s academy tells priests to teach global warming”.

The sad thing is that I am not surprised, nothing this Pope says or does surprises me.

  43. Ant

“Many people are happy because many people want change. But where this change will lead is still completely unclear.”

Weird how this comment attracts criticism.

I know the Tchumpies will swallow whatever crap flows out of their King’s mouth, but on observation alone it’s incredible how they are incapable of some objective criticism which should lead them to question how their guy slammed the likes of, for example, Goldman Sachs, hedge fund managers and RINOs relentlessly in the campaign, yet is stuffing his cabinet positions with exactly these guys – at the Reserve, Interior Dept, Commerce, Transport- and the real killer: Preibus as CoS.

As for this comment in the original post: “They have no sources of information outside their self-constructed bubbles and refuse to let any shards of reality disturb their information flow.”

I wonder when the reality of Trump’s $1 trillion stimulus shard will start disturbing Steve’s information flow – especially considering the characters he’s appointing to administer it all.

On the domestic side Trump’s selections suck – if you’re waiting for the swamp to drain, that is.

On national security, the DoJ and defence Trump’s selections have been outstanding (aside from SoS, which remains to be seen).

I see that the quintessential swamp-rat, Harry Reid, has been rather praiseworthy of Trump. This should worry Americans – including the Trumpbots.

The Senate confirmation process will be interesting. Let’s see who the Dems wave through and who they vehemently oppose. This will be very telling.

  44. struth

I think the basic reason there is hope when it comes to Trump, is he knows who and what his enemies are, and knows arguing the point constructively with them is pointless.
I believe he is going to let funding or lack thereof do the talking.
Also, somebody MADE to go back to work, soon gets back into the swing of things and that is also a vote and opinion changer.
But, by god, they have a lot of work to do if they don’t want to end up like us.

  45. Tel

The discussion comments on the Guardian have some amusing antics.

    Rabbi,

Would that be the same Russia that the D’rats said Trump would start a war with once elected?

Obviously the Russians are masochists! They want a war with the USA, and screwed Clinton over to get it!

  47. Boambee John

Stupid auto correct, Rabz, not Rabbi!

  48. What Obama is qualified to advise Trump on (in other words I fixed it for Conan);

1 On being a community organiser in order to advance the cause of the most vile, depraved ideology known to mankind.

2 On driving race relations to their lowest point ever and facilitating the rise of a domestic terrorist organisation run by black racist militants.

3 On arming our enemies with nuclear weapons, paying them billions of dollars and endangering our Israeli allies.

4 On destabilising the Middle East, facilitating the rise of ISIS and then having the Secretary of State lie about the entire thing.

5 On spending trillions of dollars to cripple an economy that was once the envy of the World.

  49. Dan Phillips

2 On Gifts, Candy And The Mexican Border
I’m sure we all remember Obama’s thoughtful gift-giving:
Gordon Brown gave Obama a pen made out of the timber of the HMS Resolute. Obama in return gave Gordon Brown a box set of DVDs of classic American moves coded for the US region.

Obama also gave the Queen an iPod loaded with his speeches.
