A wilderness of mirrors

I find all of this truly ominous. Start with the headlines at Drudge:

Obama Loyalists Waged Secret Campaign to Oust…
MAG: Anonymous Spooks Engineer ‘Soft Coup’…
INTEL CHAIR: FBI Needs To Explain Recorded Calls, Leaks…

Then there’s this from Ace of Spades: “The Free Beacon’s Adam Kredo: Obama Stay-Behinds Executed the Political Hit on Michael Flynn to Preemptively Defend Their Corrupt Iran Deal”. He quotes:

Multiple sources closely involved in the situation pointed to a larger, more secretive campaign aimed at discrediting Flynn and undermining the Trump White House.
“It’s undeniable that the campaign to discredit Flynn was well underway before Inauguration Day, with a very troublesome and politicized series of leaks designed to undermine him,” said one veteran national security adviser with close ties to the White House team. “This pattern reminds me of the lead up to the Iran deal, and probably features the same cast of characters.”

The Free Beacon first reported in January that, until its final days in office, the Obama administration hosted several pro-Iran voices who were critical in helping to mislead the American public about the terms of the nuclear agreement. This included a former Iranian government official and the head of the National Iranian American Council, or NIAC, which has been accused of serving as Iran’s mouthpiece in Washington, D.C.

Since then, top members of the Obama administration’s national security team have launched a communications infrastructure after they left the White House, and have told reporters they are using that infrastructure to undermine Trump’s foreign policy.

“It’s actually Ben Rhodes, NIAC, and the Iranian mullahs who are celebrating today,” said one veteran foreign policy insider who is close to Flynn and the White House. “They know that the number one target is Iran … [and] they all knew their little sacred agreement with Iran was going to go off the books. So they got rid of Flynn before any of the [secret] agreements even surfaced.”

Flynn had been preparing to publicize many of the details about the nuclear deal that had been intentionally hidden by the Obama administration as part of its effort to garner support for the deal, these sources said.

And this by Mike Walsh via Instapundit:

Mike Flynn, a good man who saw the enemy clearly, and had the courage to name it, saw Russia not as an enemy but a geopolitical adversary with whom we could make common cause against Islam — and who also vowed to shake up a complacent and malfeasant IC — was its first scalp, and an object lesson to new CIA Director Mike Pompeo should he have any reformist notions. As for the media, having previously failed to take down Trump aides Steve Bannon and Kellyanne Conway, Flynn was the next best thing; their joy today is unbounded.

Is this what you thought you voted for in November? Is this how you thought American democracy worked? Is this the country you want to live in?

Welcome to the Deep State, the democracy-sapping embeds at the heart of our democracy who have not taken the expulsion of the Permanent Bipartisan Fusion Party lightly. They realize that the Trump administration poses a mortal threat to their hegemony, and so have enlisted an army of Democrats, some Republicans, the “neverTrumpumpkin” conservative die-hards, leftist thugs, Black Lives Matter and anybody else they can blackmail, browbeat or enlist. They mean business.

A RUSH LIMBAUGH UPDATE: From The Political Assassination of Michael Flynn.

So what we have here, we have a political assassination that’s taken place here, a political assassination, Mike Flynn, who, do you know he worked for Obama four different times? You didn’t know that? Let me find the details. In September 2011, Mike Flynn was promoted to lieutenant general assigned to the office of the Director of National Intelligence by Barack Obama. On April 17th, 2012, President Barack Obama nominated Michael Flynn to be the 18th director of the Defense Intelligence Agency.

The defense department has its own intel operation and he ran it, as opposed to the Central Intelligence Agency. It’s called the DIA, and it’s big, and it’s relevant, and it’s important, and it does great work, and Flynn ran it after having been promoted to lead it by Obama in 2012. He took command of the DIA in July of 2012. He is a member of the Democrat Party, according to Wikipedia. Michael Flynn is a member of the Democrat Party.

Aside from all of this, he has a reputation as a great man. He’s also a hawk. And that’s something the left just can’t abide. Hawks like Michael Flynn, they may as well be Dr. Strangelove. They want to run around, they want to start nuclear war, they want to destroy the planet, they’re deranged, they’re unhinged, they love blood and guts, and they love the sound of gunfire and napalm in the morning, and they just love it, and this is totally unacceptable.

So we have a resignation over a phone call, a freaking phone call. The Democrats don’t resign when they’re caught red-handed with their hand in the till or in bed with an intern or whatever else transgression the Democrats engage in. There are no resignations and there are no demands for resignations. And if you want to compare the Trump administration to the Obama administration, you just need to ask yourself one question: Why did you vote for Trump?

The President should immediately post a standing reward of $5,000,000 for information leading to the conviction of any employee of a govt security agency for leaking confidential information.

  3. Roger

Ex-CIA agent and anti-Trumper on ABC RN AM this morning certainly seemed to suggest that Flynn was targeted by powers that want to re-balance Trump’s advisors towards the old guard, leaving “cultural and economic nationalists” Bannon and Miller isolated.

  4. Scott

How strange…in your mind, the Trump administration can do no wrong; *everything* is part of some grand conspiracy to discredit him.

I’m trying to think back to the last time you were even mildly critical of Trump or his team (without equivocating or minimizing). Having trouble…

  5. teddy bear

What do they think Trump will do if they isolate him? Do they really think he will just roll over and do their bidding?

  6. Tim Neilson

    Were the leaks accurate?
Did they really justify Flynn being forced to resign?
If so, there’s not a lot to complain about.
Mind you, I’m not saying that the premise of a “Permanent Bipartisan Fusion Party” is entirely without validity* but that doesn’t mean we should reflexively dismiss any and every criticism of a Trump action or of a Trump appointee.
    * I take size 7 1/8 with the aluminium lined internally with clingwrap, thanks monty.

  7. Neilo

Whilst I agree with Steve, Flynn’s mistakes were twofold .. first, as a previous head of a security agency he should have well known that any calls, to Russians in particular, would be bugged and secondly and most egregiously, to lie to VP Pence and others about the contents. The Donald doesn’t appear to be a minutiae guy so needs to trust his advisors completely, lying and disinformation cannot be countenanced as this episode demonstrates.

  8. Zyconoclast

Flynn is neither here or there.

Trump’s team know the game and need to play it hard and smart.

We don’t need an Abbott, they we’re mean to me so maybe if I’m nice to them …

No excuses and use all legal means to destroy the enemy within.

He is blaming Ben Rhodes for Flynn breaking the law and resigning in disgrace less than a month into the Trump administration. It’s beyond loopy.

  15. Gab

Flynn, a registered Democrat, is just acting true to form.

  16. stackja

Trump is USA President. He alone decides. Flynn lost USA President’s confidence.

Flynn is widely reported to have lied to Pence.
    That is a no-no.
If he’d been kosher I suspect Trump would have defended him to the ultimate.
But not providing the CEO will full information is a “you’re fired” moment.

Putin seems a very articulate and rational man. Watch here

  19. I haven’t noticed any press saying how decisive Trump was in this embroglio.
No praise for acting in the nation’s best interests.
No wonder he uses twitter to communicate direct to the public.

  20. I haven’t noticed any press saying how decisive Trump was in this embroglio.

He knew about this scandal more than two weeks ago, as has been widely reported. He was the opposite of decisive. A decisive leader would have fired Flynn on the spot, not waited until the story broke in the media and allowed him to resign.

  21. John Comnenus

They got away with all sorts of police state tactics under Obama’s DOJ and IRS. And ofcourse the so called intelligence community are really embarrased that Flynn accurately predicted the most logical outcome of the Obama – Clinton foreign policy in Libya and Syria. Flynn called the rise of a Caliphate (or a Salafist Principality in Western Iraq and Eastern Syria as he called it). Some like Professor Angelo Codevilla claim the CIA is mostly an entrecnhed political operation that should be shut down entirely because politicking gets in the way of clear sighted analysis.

The issue isn’t the sacking. Clearly Flynn was not fully transparent with Pence but of course no one knows what discussion he had with the Ambassador. Was Flynn asked a question about sanctions by the Ambassador to which he gave a non committal answer and hence throught nothing about it (ie oversight but still not transparent), or did Flynn and the Ambassador discuss Trump’s likely policy direction (ie deliberately withholding information from Pence)? We dont know.

It is very troubling that the US Intelligence service is conducting surveillance that sweeps up people with pretty much the highest security clearances whilst not surveilling those with the highest likelihood of being terrorists.

Furthermore Goldman points out that Flynn was first accused of being viciously anti Russian and corruptly pro Turkish, now they argue he is pro Russian and hence must have been anti Turkey (at the time he was accused of being on the Turkish payroll). Flynn has the strongest USA first credentials from all of his writings. He also wants to win the war against Jihadists – so clearly a huge threat to the intelligence community that benefits from an ongoing jihadi war.

There are transcripts of the conversations. They haven’t leaked yet, but with this administration it’s probably only a matter of time before they are leaked.

Mmyes, suddenly after Flynn visited Russia and led a standing ovation for Putin at a televised dinner, he totally changed his tune. Funny about that.

  23. Roger

He knew about this scandal more than two weeks ago, as has been widely reported. He was the opposite of decisive.

They were going through a process of assessing the legality of Flynn’s actions.

What do you expect Trump to do, call Flynn and say you’re fired without consulting widely?

Whatever Trump does is not going to be good enough for you, monty.

  24. Leo G

What odds are offered for a bet on the Russians being the source of the leaks?

  25. What do you expect Trump to do, call Flynn and say you’re fired without consulting widely?

Yes, that is what I would expect of a decisive leader.

  26. Roger

Yes, that is what I would expect of a decisive leader.

Monty is not in favour of due process.

  27. Monty is not in favour of due process.

What process? The NSA serves at the pleasure of the president. He can fire political functionaries like that whenever he likes. Don’t be silly, Roger.

  28. Sinclair Davidson

Part of the conspiracy was forcing Flynn to lie to Mike Pence?

    Damn those Democrats are good.

  29. Roger

Part of the conspiracy was forcing Flynn to lie to Mike Pence?

Flynn says is he inadvertently briefed the VP with incomplete accounts of his conversations with the Russian ambassador. It was recalcitrant acting AG Sally Yates, who advised lawyers to ignore Trump’s EO on migration restrictions because it was “illegal” before being sacked herself, who first advised the WH, on the basis of secret recordings, that Flynn may have exposed himself to the possibility of blackmail in the future. Flynn himself maintains he has always acted with integrity and honesty during in his service to the US. There is clearly more to this than meets the eye.

  30. Anonandon

Alumina is refined fro bauxite and then smelted into aluminium or aluminum as our American friends would say.

  31. Flynn says is he inadvertently briefed the VP with incomplete accounts of his conversations with the Russian ambassador.

If you believe that, Roger, you’ll believe anything.

  32. Flynns sacking was not about breaking any law (Logan Act) but because he didn’t tell Pence everything he should have. (Irrelevant whether he forgot or deliberately left out detail).
The Logan Act is an arcane law that hasn’t been used for over 200 years. For example, prior to the 2008 elections, Obama toured through the Middle East and had extensive talks with a whole slew of people including politicians about what kind of president he would make. No one evoked the Logan Act on his sorry ass.
Hillary Clintons bum chum Syd Blumenthal was never charged with the Logan Act although he would be a prime candidate. The Logan Act is a dead law that should have been scrapped from the books if anyone could be bothered about it.

Flynn agreed to go in order to stop the damage being inflicted on Trump. After Trump cleans out some of the Obama hangers on, Flynn will be back in the administration in some capacity, you can bank on it.

    Bwahahahaha!

    Poor montell.

  34. Roger

If you believe that, Roger, you’ll believe anything.

What motive would he have to lie, monty?

I believe he is an honourable man who inadvertently made a mistake.

Maybe, in retrospect, he wasn’t up to the job.

  35. Sinclair Davidson

Flynn says is he inadvertently briefed the VP with incomplete accounts of his conversations with the Russian ambassador.

What an idiot. With the Dems trying to stick a Russian hacking story onto the Republicans, an adviser makes a mistake like that? Good thing that he is gone.

  36. Sinclair Davidson

Maybe, in retrospect, he wasn’t up to the job.

    Yes – i think so.

  37. What motive would he have to lie, monty?

The most obvious motive is that he did actually break the law, and he’s trying to cover it up. If he didn’t do anything wrong, the transcript would have been leaked by the WH already and there would be nothing to worry about.

Maybe, in retrospect, he wasn’t up to the job.

Maybe, in retrospect, you aren’t up to the job of evaluation.

  38. Roger

I never thought he was the right pick in any case; now Trump has the opportunity to get it right.

But I don’t for a second believe Flynn is a liar on the evidence presented thus far.

He’s the victim of a tussle for influence in the Trump WH – the old guard of internationalists is attempting to subvert the influence of the nationalists – Barron and Miller – on Trump.

  39. Leo G

Flynn says is he inadvertently briefed the VP with incomplete accounts of his conversations with the Russian ambassador.

If you believe that, Roger, you’ll believe anything.

Roger didn’t imply that he believed Flynn’s statement, merely that he expected there will be a more comprehensive explanation.

  40. He’s the victim of a tussle for influence in the Trump WH – the old guard of internationalists is attempting to subvert the influence of the nationalists – Barron and Miller – on Trump.

Ah yes, the man who resigned in disgrace three weeks into his job over a scandal involving possibly illegal collaboration with America’s main enemy for the past half-century while that enemy is also under investigation for subverting the recent election in favour of his party… yeah, he’s the real victim.

  41. I wish I understood. Is it conformity that they want from Russia? Is it a petrodollar thing? Or do they want to somehow dominate the Caspian and the Stans to thus dominate oil, gas, heroin and prime geopolitical real estate? How could they do that? The old balkanising one-two, colour revolutions against Milosevic monsters etc etc?

The western elites certainly want something that looks like war with Russia, Iskanders or no Iskanders. The triumphalism over the Flynn blunder, the juvenile accusations over the election, the shameless leaking on behalf of the old guard, the extra troops and materiel that went thundering east just before Obama’s exit…

Looks like warmongering, walks like warmongering, quacks like warmongering. And do they really think their war with Russia is going to go smoothly? Or is mess desired for some bizarre reason best understood by Soros and the globocrats? Beats me.

  42. Roger

The interview on ABC RN AM today with ex-CIA deputy director Michael Morrell, who happens to be in Australia for the Lowy Institute at present, provided some very helpful background to this story. I think we in Australia might find it hard to understand just how politicised the upper echelons of the security apparatus in Washington are given how low profile ours are by comparison.

  43. Meanwhile…

Phone records and intercepted calls show that members of Donald J. Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and other Trump associates had repeated contacts with senior Russian intelligence officials in the year before the election, according to four current and former American officials.

American law enforcement and intelligence agencies intercepted the communications around the same time that they were discovering evidence that Russia was trying to disrupt the presidential election by hacking into the Democratic National Committee….The intercepts alarmed American intelligence and law enforcement agencies, in part because of the amount of contact that was occurring while Mr. Trump was speaking glowingly about the Russian president, Vladimir V. Putin….The officials said the intercepted communications were not limited to Trump campaign officials, and included other associates of Mr. Trump.

….Officials would not disclose many details, including what was discussed on the calls, which Russian intelligence officials were on the calls, and how many of Mr. Trump’s advisers were talking to the Russians.

The real question is which of the Trump team are not Russian stooges. Priebus maybe?

  44. mh

Looks like warmongering, walks like warmongering, quacks like warmongering. And do they really think their war with Russia is going to go smoothly? Or is mess desired for some bizarre reason best understood by Soros and the globocrats? Beats me.

Soros vs Russia? A real possibility here of George Soros’ involvment.

  45. How many divisions does Soros have?

  46. The Russia scandal that still deserves much attention is the increase of Russian control over the world’s and even America’s uranium through the Uranium One sale. But that was all transacted by and for Bill and Hillary Clinton, their Foundation, and their mate Frank Giustra.

I guess there is one thing Hillary loves more than war. But war is a very close second. She loves war so much she doesn’t care who wins. Someone else can pick up the broken glass and crockery, just like on election night.

  47. The Russia scandal that still deserves much attention is the increase of Russian control over the world’s and even America’s uranium through the Uranium One sale.

Ooh yeah, now that Putin controls an extra 0.4% of the world’s uranium production, that makes all the difference. Idiot.

  48. Uranium One…it can strike a nerve, can’t it? Hillary wouldn’t just call you an idiot if you mentioned it. She’d start chucking.

  49. This from the fanatically right-wing New York Times in 2015:

As the Russians gradually assumed control of Uranium One in three separate transactions from 2009 to 2013, Canadian records show, a flow of cash made its way to the Clinton Foundation. Uranium One’s chairman used his family foundation to make four donations totaling $2.35 million. Those contributions were not publicly disclosed by the Clintons, despite an agreement Mrs. Clinton had struck with the Obama White House to publicly identify all donors. Other people with ties to the company made donations as well.

And shortly after the Russians announced their intention to acquire a majority stake in Uranium One, Mr. Clinton received $500,000 for a Moscow speech from a Russian investment bank with links to the Kremlin that was promoting Uranium One stock.

Others less kindly disposed to the Clintons have said the total donations from Uranium One shareholders to the Clinton Foundation exceeded $145 million. In light of the Flynn kerfuffle, Uranium One is certainly worth investigating more, one would think. What with Russians and all that.

  50. twostix

Yesterday m0nty didnt even know Flynn is a democrat.

  51. In light of the Flynn kerfuffle, Uranium One is certainly worth investigating more, one would think.

mosomoso, you are a one-man wilderness of morons.

  52. twostix

Whenever monty gets over excited about something, like this, like the fake weekly ‘scandals’ that he was hyperventilating daily over before the election… it always blows up in his face.

Public servants conspired to use the surveillance state to destroy one of the presidents cabinet because they don’t like the president.

M0nty and the old anachronistic code pink Clintonian left are literally hoping that between their police state and their black shirted facists bashing people, they can defeat democracy, and history and take us back to 2004.

  53. Well, that certainly put me in my place, Monty. And it alliterates!

Meanwhile, the fiercely hard right Mother Jones on some other Clinton Dealings (no, not Algeria):

“In 2011, the State Department cleared an enormous arms deal: Led by Boeing, a consortium of American defense contractors would deliver $29 billion worth of advanced fighter jets to Saudi Arabia, despite concerns over the kingdom’s troublesome human rights record. In the years before Hillary Clinton became secretary of state, Saudi Arabia had contributed $10 million to the Clinton Foundation, and just two months before the jet deal was finalized, Boeing donated $900,000 to the Clinton Foundation, according to an International Business Times investigation released Tuesday.”

So it’s fair to say that Hillary is not a Russian stooge. She’ll take anybody’s dough.

  54. Indolent

The western elites certainly want something that looks like war with Russia

It’s very simple. They hate Russia for the same reason they hate Trump and Brexit – they are all nationalists and holdouts against globalism and one world government. Obama was there for 8 years dismantling American institutions and industries without a peep from Deep State, because he was doing their bidding.

Trump may or may not prevail but he has at least brought the scrum to the surface.

  55. Public servants conspired to use the surveillance state to destroy one of the presidents cabinet because they don’t like the president.

They weren’t bugging the cabinet. They were bugging the Russians. The fact that members of the cabinet were talking to Russians is the problem here.

  56. Roger

Ah yes, the man who resigned in disgrace three weeks into his job over a scandal involving possibly illegal collaboration with America’s main enemy for the past half-century…

You dolt, monty; the WH took two weeks to be sure no illegalities were committed by Flynn. The only illegality here is the leaking…done by?

  57. the WH took two weeks to be sure no illegalities were committed by Flynn.

No, Roger. You are making things up. The WH sat on it for two weeks without doing anything, and was only forced to move by the WaPo breaking the story as the resignation came mere hours after the story was published. And it was Flynn who resigned of his own volition, he wasn’t fired, according to reports.

Just stop, Roger. You’re getting a bit Comical Ali about this.

  58. Cannibal

Whenever monty gets over excited about something, like this, like the fake weekly ‘scandals’ that he was hyperventilating daily over before the election… it always blows up in his face.

    True.
He’s hooked on the endorphins released by the next bout of rake pain. He can’t get enough!

  59. Cannibal

Three weeks vs. over a year for the kiddy sex promoter in the Obama WH.

Looks like Flynn went and apologised to Trump, then fell on his sword. Clears the way for Trump to bring in a real head-kicker, since the deep state didn’t want to play nice with the cooperative approach.

  60. twostix

Don’t you get bored being wrong monty?

You spent probably no less thn 300-500 hours “arguing” (shilling the daily huffington post talking points) before the election. It was Trump scandal mania. You declared him dumped by his party at least 20 times, the last time one week from the election!

    For what.

Your world is never coming back.

  61. Clears the way for Trump to bring in a real head-kicker, since the deep state didn’t want to play nice with the cooperative approach.

    Who’s next, George Zimmerman?

  62. Your world is never coming back.

Your world hasn’t arrived quite yet, 26. So far, it looks like Trump is too incompetent to do much of anything except bluster. He can’t change the planet through poorly-worded EOs alone.

  63. Mother Lode

Ever so deliberately Monty arranges his rake on the ground. He scans around looking to see that the ground is even, featureless and firm – that there is nothing to cause him to quickly change direction

He stands upright. Another glance – the sky is a clean blue in all directions, a vast airy dome that seams with the horizon at a distance that strains the eye.

    All is set.

    All is still.

Monty deliberately turns a little away from his garden-implement nemesis. This is it. There will be no mishaps this time. He looks again at the awesome openness around him and sets his eye off in the distance. He lifts his foot and begins to put it down and…he turns his head as something snares the corner of his eye. “Hang on, what’s this on the ground?”

    THWACK!

Looking forward to the Oliver Stone flick – Baldwin as Trump, presumably.

  66. Roger

The WH sat on it for two weeks without doing anything, and was only forced to move by the WaPo breaking the story as the resignation came mere hours after the story was published.

Right, the WH counsel did nothing about something this big for two weeks.

Even The Guardian is reporting that McGahn did an investigation of the legality of Flynn’s actions, monty.

  67. LOL, you fools are still pushing that line. Weaker than a Milo handshake.

  68. Even The Guardian is reporting that McGahn did an investigation of the legality of Flynn’s actions, monty.

If you are referring to this:

Spicer claimed that Trump was first made aware that Flynn had potentially misled the vice-president on 26 January and that the White House legal counsel, Donald McGahn, had been investigating the situation since in what Spicer called “a very deliberative process”, determining within several days that Flynn had not broken the law. Until 13 February, Flynn continued to have access to top-level information.

So the investigation started two weeks ago and took “several days”, let’s say three. What did Trump do for the other ten or so days between the end of the investigation and yesterday? Nothing.

Quit while you’re way behind, Roger.

  69. Mother Lode

Month, I don’t know anyone who considers 3 to be several.

Several days is more likely between 6 and 10.

With the 5 day week that is close to…

  70. Obama won’t be quietly riding off into the sunset.

Obama sees weakening America and strengthening Muslim nations as personal Jihad.

It would be interesting if O’Bama were to be caught out doing something really nasty – like calling for Trumps assassination.
    Would Trump have him arrested?
And I wonder if Trump has managed to get his hands on O’Bamas sealed documents, or the KGB/FSB Files?

  71. Dr Fred Lenin

The pubic sevice would be full of democrats and communists all eager to destroy Trump and restore the beloved leader of the government in exile ,obummer and his comrades . 73. Boambee John

m0nty is quite excited about this.

Which is longer, the rake handle or m0nty’s chubbie?

  74. Boambee John

The investigation by the Defence Intelligence Agency commenced well before that time, probably with Flynn’s December recorded conversation with Russian Ambassador Sergei Kislyak.
Acting Attorney General Sally Yates informed White House council Don McGahn on 26 January that the Department of Justice was aware there was intelligence about Flynn, but did not disclose any investigation. The White House could not have commenced their own investigation until DIA or DoJ disclosed the investigation and provided detailed information.
According to Spicer, AG Sally Yates could not confirm to McGahn that ther was an investigation, saying:
“We wanted to give you a head’s up that there may be information, okay?”

Kates, it’s noticeable that you never use your own words when the Manchurian clan is caught out. I reckon you know perfectly well that this stooge outfit is in deep. I mean, since when does the NSA of a new president quit after a few weeks because of an FBI query?
The idiot Miller has been running off about judges in ways that make it clear he is clueless about the Constitution. He’s said plainly that this president is above the Constitution, which he very clearly aint. Others like Bannon are waging war on individual’s liberty.
This bunch is neither conservative nor libertarian. They have their fundamental equipment firmly caught in the wringer. Good riddance and I hope it hurts.

  77. It really is going to be a terrible 8 years for monty. Good.

  78. Miller has been running off about judges in ways that make it clear he is clueless about the Constitution. He’s said plainly that this president is above the Constitution,

    Where has he said that?

Monty is making Keith Olbermann look sane and reasonable.

    Donald J. Trump‏ @realDonaldTrump

So in short, Obama’s head of military intelligence turned out to be disappointment. That’s it.

Trump Derangement Syndrome in full flight here, folks.

Why would Flynn and others on the Trump team NOT be in contact with Russia? Flynn always believed that the fight should be taken up to IS, and that Russia was critical in that fight. But he wouldn’t talk to them, no siree. That would be foolish. Everybody, and I mean everybody, involved knew that the Russian hacking story was a crock, and the the surest way to lose the election was to cower from the propaganda paradise that is the MSM in the US.

But hey, TDSers, do you happen to remember who won the election? Do you happen to remember what your own penetrating analyses were telling you about the certainty of a Clinton victory? What eagles of the intellect you are! You were so busy pondering your own navels that you probably didn’t notice that over the period in question, Putin was preparing and effecting a plan to break the back of the Sunni rebellion in Syria. If there’s a player in the ME that you need to get on side at the moment, it’s Russia. Doing that is going to involve a lot of talking to a lot of highly placed Russians.

However, TDS-impaired folks think that the uppermost thing in Flynn’s mind during all of these conversations was a passing reference to Omaba’s sanctions. A comment like that in the context of many conversations is neither here nor there to Flynn, but in a police state all of your conversations will be recorded and scoured for the tidbits which can be useful.

You don’t have to live in a police state to experience this. We all know people who store away (and distort in memory) every otherwise harmless comment you make, only to throw them at you as accusations at a time of their choosing. These are the natural STASI agents of society, and they don’t have the resources of a highly developed and bitterly divided panopticon state at their disposal. If _you_ don’t know any, you haven’t lived.

    This is a sting operation.
    http://ronfor37.org/2017/02/15/is-the-flynn-resignation-a-sting/

“Let’s say a person wants to hire a killer to bump off a spouse. They ask Mikey the Biker. Mikey goes to the cops. A police officer poses as a killer for hire. He asks the person 900 times if they REALLY want to kill the spouse. The cops says, “Let’s be clear: You want this person dead, right? You want me to shoot him in the head, right?”

It was clear that the CIA was telling the media stories about Flynn having inappropriate connections to Russia. Now, imagine Trump as a cop playing a killer for hire. He began ASKING THE CIA IF IT REALLY WANTED TO DO THIS.

January 11: Trump announces that he pulled a sting operation and identified intelligence official who leaked information. Director of National Intelligence James Clapper issues a statement opposing leaks.

January 23: The OBAMA FBI CLEARS FLYNN OF WRONGDOING in his conversation with the Russian ambassador.

Now, the murderous spouse goes ahead and tries to hire the killer.

Acting Attorney General Sally Yates warns the Trump administration that Flynn might be subject to blackmail by Russia. Yates bases her warning ON A TRANSCRIPT. She’s the first murderous spouse caught in the sting. She was fired January 31 for refusing to enforce the travel ban.

February 9: The New York times and Washington Post claim that Flynn discussed sanctions with the Russian ambassador. The articles are crap. They contradict themselves. This is from the Post.

If those intelligence officials have firsthand knowledge, why can’t they tell us a straight story?

New York Times. Again, total confusion about what was said.

Finally, the proof that this was a sting: FLYNN KNEW HE WAS BEING RECORDED. From the Times.

Trump warned, Clapper warned, and the FBI warned, but the CIA went ahead and leaked ANYWAY. Trump, Flynn, Clapper, and he FBI set up the CIA. And now the CIA gets to have its peepee whacked REALLY HARD. Right now a bunch of fat drunks are making deals with the feds to keep out of prison.

Why would Trump be impeached? You have to commit a crime to be impeached. Stop being silly. The end.”
