Trump the most ignorant president in history

He is right – Trump mimics the views of the person he most recently speaks to. He really is barking mad. At least George W Bush appreciated his limits. Trump has no idea and yet thinks himself a genius. This is the man who might take us to another Korean War.

Lucius Kim Jong Un Cincinnanus – the most ignorant blogger in history.

  3. JC

    Lucius.

I think your concern is a fair one, but I also think a war will be avoided, or at least I hope. Having said that, N.Korea has been making noises that they will destroy West coast cities with nukes for decades. At what point do you say that sort of talk is enough?

  4. Oh come on

Howsabout dem rampaging Trump supporters who refuse to accept the election outcome, Lucy? That remains the alpha turd floating in your punchbowl, and you still make no effort to fish it out.

  5. Tom

Fuck off, troll. For ignorant peons like you, here is the story of the century which you’re determined to ignore:

The Entire Western world helped Obama wiretap Trump.

It’s the biggest story in the history of world politics and makes Watergate look like a minor felony.

Trump, by the way, would intellectually chew up and spit out idiots like you before breakfast. Like the entire left wing of the Cat, including the publisher, you just can’t stand him because you’re a snob who loathes the human race.

And — for fuck’s sake! — after their barracking for Hillary and the Clinton crime family, don’t come here quoting Anderson fucking Cooper and CNN as a source of authority about anything to do with US politics.

  7. Marko

No JC, this post is like so much Trump-critical commentary, e.g. Gareth Evans recently. It manifests exactly the kind of thoughtless stupidity of which the commentator accuses President Trump. This is essentially projective and reflects very poorly on the commentator and not at all upon the President, who ought be open to thoughtful critique.

  8. Motelier

The trouble with democracy is that the really smart leftists did not get elected becsuse they were too smart.

Well this incisive and highly nuanced, well backed up with fact, statement has floored me.
You can’t argue with it .

  14. Marko

The penny hadn’t initially dropped for me, but it really is ‘trolling’ to call yourself a “retired general” whilst hiding behind a stupid nom de plume, making idiotic remarks. Presumably you are a moron colleague of Sinc’s at a Victorian captive leftist University- I doubt you are retired at all.

  15. Delta

    About Lucius Quinctius Cincinnatus

Should read “I’m a retired general hand who occasionally gets called back to savage the republic before returning to my plough.”

    That’s better.

    The Fate Trump Spared Us

The Trump White House may or may not be a scene of chaos and personnel conflict and Trump may yet turn out to be a poor president—certainly the media has an interest in exaggerating any difficulties there may be—but one thing is certain from the release of the new book Shattered: Inside Hillary Clinton’s Doomed Campaign: Trump has spared us a much worse fate in the form of President Hillary Clinton.

  19. OneWorldGovernment

Go and take some lithium medication along with splatterpattern.

  20. Fulcrum

The idea that Trump has experts, who cover the relations between China and North Korea seems to be beyond the imagination and comprehension of the hate media.

I could be wrong but I think its implausible that any American president or European leader is an expert on relationships between countries like China and North Korea, but obviously Cooper has got a different view, maybe even a greater insight.

Looking at the hate media, habitual bias could be the issue, especially with Cooper’s background.

  21. Senile Old Guy

Sinc, why do you continue to give space to this idiot?

  22. A Lurker

Lucius Quinctius Cincinnatus is so typical of the Senate of the fading Roman republic. An elitist and obviously a member of the Optimates, he is trying hard to maintain or return to the corrupt status quo where the malign Senate (Democrats) ruled supreme. The reason why he hates Trump is because Trump is a Populares.

As for the rest of his post?
    Utter hogwash.

  23. 132andBush

Monty is the only one who likes the post.

Judge a troll by the company who keeps him.

  24. Craig

Ah, CNN, Clinton News Network. Yes, a very reliable source of news for left leaning democrats who still can’t get their head out of their ass following Trumps RESOUNDING victory.

Seriously LCQ, whatever makes you think we care about a fake news network that lives in an alternative universe and believes pepper spraying every poor bastard who doesn’t confirm to their shit world view?

  25. Razor

    Suggest:
Sinc is LQC. This is his only way of getting back ( by shit stirring) at those who oppose his views.

  26. Malcolm

Trump has changed position 180 degrees on so many issues and yet his supporters here don’t seem to mind.

  27. Notafan

Genius Turnbull flip flops on a weekly basis and Lucius doesn’t mind.

  28. Gilas

    FMD, CNN is anti-Trump.

    Stop the presses!!

  29. Anne

I’m wondering if LQC might be one of Sinc’s MKUltra alters.

  30. Tom

    Sinc is LQC.

Correct, Razor! Doomlord has more sock puppets than Gargoolery.

  31. Mark M

    “He really is barking mad.”

And, then there is Hillary …

  32. Elizabeth (Lizzie) Beare

Trump has changed position 180 degrees on so many issues and yet his supporters here don’t seem to mind.

Some of us have been happy to see a level of flexibility in a President who is capable of adjusting to changed circumstances. His basic position of speaking up for America has not changed one iota and he is methodically ploughing through implementation of some key promises, despite huge Democratic opposition at all levels of their influence.

Go make a ploughshare and do something more useful than blog stir here, Cincinnatus.
You and your ilk are a dismal failure at saving the American Republic.

  33. Elizabeth (Lizzie) Beare

I don’t think Sinc has sock puppets. You don’t have to look far to find Trump haters who fall back on CNN for their news and opinion. Sinc would be spoiled for choice.

  34. Antonin D

I agree wholeheartedly with what Tom wrote (11.25 pm)

We’re surrounded by people, just like those in the clip, wearing their smartarse expressions.
And I spit on their supercilious pronouncements.

    President Trump is doing well

  35. Anne

    President Trump is doing well.

Donald Trump will be the greatest President in American history, bar none.

  36. Up The Workers!

Monty said at 12.44am: “Top thread’ would read again.”

As a recidivist gillarder for the propaganda arm of the worlds’ only political Party too dumb to spell its’ own name correctly, he possibly would – if only he could find somebody to teach him how to read in the first instance.

LABOR(sic) – It has no place for “U”!

  37. Cold-Hands

This is just trolling now. CNN opinionistas, unsupported assertions… surely we’re above such clickbait?

  38. Spider

I was in the US travelling during the election and watched a fair bit of the coverage. CNN and the rest of the MSM were so overtly and sneeringly anti-Trump it was breathtaking. Why anyone would take anything they said seriously now is beyond me.

  39. Peter Bayne

Is this right? Trump previously asserted that China was manipulating its currency but now accepts that it was and does not. If this so, can any of the bloggers here explain why he has changed his mind? I don’t mind that he changes his mind – it shows that he is thinking – but one should expect an explanation.

  40. Roger

N.Korea has been making noises that they will destroy West coast cities with nukes for decades. At what point do you say that sort of talk is enough?

Hopefully before they can put a nuclear warhead on an icbm.

What do Sinc & Cooper think Trump should do? Rely on the Chinese to rein Kim in? That’s like relying on Wahhabist Saudis to de-radicalise al-Qaeda jihadists. Obama tried that, btw.

  41. Leo G

“It is beyond the power of any president, no matter what may be his own political proclivities, to restore peace and harmony …. Wisely limited and restrained as is his power under our Constitution and laws, he alone can accomplish but little for good or for evil” – James Buchanan

Quinctius confusus? Among US Presidents it is hard to beat James Buchanan for ignorance.
But wait several years until the question “who was the more ignorant US president” is posed to the people who elected each of Obama and Trump.

  42. terry andrews

This blog is going downhill. So trump and tony are no good but mals a prince. In our democracies its either/or. The USA did well and we were robbed. Mal is self-satisfied,lazy,vain idiot and Hillary was dangerously dishonest and threat to her country. Perhaps as bad as Obama. We seem to have been sleepwalking through the last 8 Obama yrs, and Trump has woken us up that we don’t have take being shafted, or murdered by inbred fanatics posing as refugees. Ripped off by spivs posing as environmentalists. Bravo Trump, bring back Tony.

  43. Barry Bones

    You’re quoting CNN ?

Catallaxy is really losing the plot…

  44. stackja

I will admit my ignorance, that I do not know Anderson Cooper.
When was Anderson Cooper elected? And by whom?

Tom, with you! Small style correction: it is the Clinton Crime Cartel, rather than a ‘Family’. Family has so many good and pure associations, it shouldn’t be sullied by being linked to the Clintons. Greedy filth.

  48. Bruce

TOM @ 11.25 p.m. Sums up the Trump haters. Bunch of hypocrites.

  49. John Comnenus

Trump has appeared to change position then not change position. Perhaps he wants to be unpredictable to maintain the iniative in any dealings with others. Re North Korea, I suspect Kim is finished. China has better interests to promote than stand by North Korea. I wouldn’t mind betting China will force Kim’s hand and or organise a military coup.

China will then want something from America. Recognition of sovereignty over South China Sea Islands?

There is a long way to go. But all those buffoons who thought Trump would vacate Asia and US Allies were totally and predictably wrong. Trump has put more into Asia in 88 days than Obama put in 8 years.

I suspect Trump knows exactly what he is doing and will move on Iran post North Korea.

  50. Well done Lucius.
You write two and one-half lines and I get all riled up.
    More fool me.

PS can you explain with same brevity why North Korea’s expanding nuclear and missile testing is not taking us to another Korean war?

  51. Antonin D

    Anne says
Donald Trump will be the greatest President – believe it.
If he overtakes Reagan (who was something of an oddity . . with his ‘political and cultural presence’ obscured by such as the Clintons, and if his memory failed him at the end, some of us do indeed remember)
if Donald Trump overtakes Ronald Reagan, it will make him the greatest of modern presidents.

And Turnbull is a minnow, he is Vanity personified
and worst of all, a lazybones

“Is this right? Trump previously asserted that China was manipulating its currency but now accepts that it was and does not. If this so, can any of the bloggers here explain why he has changed his mind?”

Perhaps because he is quite an accomplished negotiator? Maybe he perceives that bonding with the Chinese over the North Korea situation could well lead to better times for all involved, and that such bonding would be well worth dropping the “currency manipulation” issue even if it was correctly pursued earlier?

  53. mizaris

Anderson is speechless and perhaps lqc should have followed this lead. Nitwit.

  54. Zatara

“N.Korea has been making noises that they will destroy West coast cities with nukes for decades.”

How about we believe what they say for once?

Think how well that would have worked addressing radical islam.

  55. bobby b – maybe you’re right. But what has he given up? Levelling the playing field is in the interests of the USA (and indeed us).

Thanks for your reply. My point is that there are apparent inconsistencies to be explained; adulation of Trump and abuse of critics does not pass for credible argument.

  56. NewChum

CNN! Fakery of the fakest fake news you ever did see faked.

Trolling and satire are supposed to be subtle.

  59. Oh come on

Hey, Lucy, howsabout the news that the Carl Vinson carrier group which has been breathlessly reported as “steaming” towards the Korean peninsula for the past few weeks is in fact doing no such thing, and is 5000km away conducting war games with the RAN; the whole story being a feint to dissuade NK from testing their nuclear device?

Pretty crafty bluff from a guy who’s supposed to be the stupidest President evah!!1!, wouldn’t you say?

Lucy, I’m sure we see eye to eye on a number of issues but on Trump you are an incorrigible embarrassment with a history of wrongology that’s rivalled only by your sole supporter here, m0nty. It’s almost as though you’re trying to make an arse of yourself.

  60. Digger

So the truth has finally emerged. Lucius Quinctius Cincinnatus is actually Leut General David Lindsay Morrison AO in drag… who would have thought.

  61. tgs

Eh, using Anderson Cooper as any kind of source of truth or authority is dumb – but so is the frothing at the mouth defense of Trump by many who excuse his confusing contradictions or outright missteps as some sort of game of 4D chess above the comprehension of mere mortals.

On the NK issue it is clear that the Kim regime has been playing the west for dummies for decades and more of the same where the West either excuses or even rewards their sabre-rattling is probably the worst possible outcome so I support Trump doing something drastically different.

  69. Leigh Lowe

    Breaking!!!
CNN guy doesn’t think Trump is up to it.
Oh, and if you are going to use an MSM commentary clip can you find one without some histrionic beta asking what he thinks is a rhetorical question, then incredulously shaking his head for ten seconds, mouth agape, saying “I mean … is that .. I … I … I’m … gee, … I really am speechless … I don’t know why I … I “.
And when I say ten seconds, yep, it took him ten seconds of oohing and aahing like he had just seen a pterodactyl swoop down and snatch his pet dog off the front lawn.
Oh. and the subject matter which is so amazingly hard to grasp?
One world leader has a conversation with another and slightly changes his view on something.
    Really?
Wasn’t the big knock on Trump last year that he was a stick in the mud bullet-head who didn’t listen to anyone?
When Obumbi said he was swayed by the cogent argument of another leader (say Frau Open Borders for example), he was being thoughtful and accommodating and showing “soaring diplomatic skills”.
    Fuck off idiot.

  70. J.H.

Trump has them running scared….. And that is probably a good place to have them

“They don’t know who to call”, cries one of the panel? Her criticism being, that if things get stressed between America and these rogue nations, diplomacy cannot be entered into.

Well Duh!…….. The time for diplomacy is over. America has been talking to North Korea and Iran for decades now and achieved nothing. They are both on the brink of becoming Nuclear armed, while powers like China and Russia are happy to take advantage of that situation…. Indeed Russia invaded the only country, the Ukraine, to ever give up its entire Nuclear arsenal after previous Russian governments had signed agreements to recognize Ukrainian sovereignty, respect their border and to protect them.

Trump realizes that you cannot talk to these people and Trump is quite happy to remove the “speaking”option… or move it to a much further position where acquiescence is a prerequisite to begin with.

  71. Irreversible

It’s a pity Lucius picked this clip. For there are plenty of less provocative and utterly reliable accounts of the Trump presidency to date that make the same point. Put simply, the guy ran a reality TV campaign in which all you need is props. Now he has to govern and props do not work. The evidence is plain and it’s Republicans who are most upset with him. Leftists actually love him because he makes them look good.

  72. iampeter

Brave post for the Cat these days Lucius. I do agree that Trump has no coherent ideology and will blow whatever way the wind blows, he is also a total big government leftists so his domestic policies will be a complete disaster.

But the Syria and North Korea actions are the only good things he’s done so far. I think they are influenced by people like Maddis, who I think know what they are doing. An assertive America like this makes war less likely IMO.

So if he is going to be influenced by anyone, it would be ideal if it was by some of his more competent appointments.

Having said all that, he might back flip on this foreign policy tomorrow because someone else catches his ear.

    We’ll just have to see.

  73. Yohan

I still don’t know if Trump’s moves and statements are coldly calculated, or are impulsive and ignorant.

You would say its the later, but so far everything he does always works out to his benefit. Think the Obama spied on me tweets – they stopped the media reporting leaks as fact. Then using the Sarin attack outrage to stage a symbolic strike on Syria – this killed the Russian collusion narrative.

Long time Trump associates say he shrewdly plays the media like this.

  74. Oh come on

Hadn’t bothered watching the video before now but am struggling to see how it reflects badly on anyone except Cooper. He simply doesn’t get it and is befuddled by the whole thing. How embarrassing.

  75. cynical1

    What a joke.

This from a man who would have been happy to be “Speechless” when the Magic Negro was in charge.

Especially if he was choking on some of that magic…

  76. Chris M

Settle down folks, this looks like a very lame attempt at being Composta.

Cooper always looks uncomfortable, like he has a carrot up his bum.

  77. .

I’ve been pro-Trump since he won the nomination. I’m sticking my neck out a little.

He was pressured from the right and became more openly libertarian and constitutionalist in his outlook.

He has only had minor HR gaffes until recently, his first fault is failing to repeal Obamacare. He stuffed up the immigration EO – he should have had it drafted better.

I think he has done well on regulatory reform and foreign policy.

He has only had minor HR gaffes until recently, his first fault is failing to repeal Obamacare. He stuffed up the immigration EO – he should have had it drafted better.

I think he has done well on regulatory reform and foreign policy.

I think you’re making the mistake (that many capitalist supporters of Trump are making), by downplaying the sheer scope of the failure that is represented by not repealing Obamacare.

After seven years of promising to repeal it if they had control of the house and the presidency, Conservatives drafted a bill that demonstrated that in principle, they actually agree with government run healthcare and after three weeks gave up on even trying to pass that turd. This is such a total failure that it even removes the possibility of any talk of free markets in healthcare from the political discussion completely and now means that the next debate re healthcare will be focused on outright nationalization. This is a huge win for socialism in America.

It also was a huge moment demonstrating just how totally left wing the Conservative movement in America is. This is huge but everyone is just shrugging and moving on, when in fact everyone should be realizing that given what a catastrophe this is, we may as well have had a Hillary win or another Obama term for all that it matters.

Then of course there is the the infrastructure bill that rivals Obama and Bush and people who claim to be capitalists are still credulously posting lists of trivialities (as Steve did in a previous post) listing this or that micky mouse, fiddling around the margin as if this administration has left any doubt about how left wing it will be.

So I too like the foreign policy actions so far, but we’ll see if they stay the course, but the domestic stuff is just an unmitigated disaster and I’m surprised so many capitalists are cool with it.

  86. Crossie

What do Sinc & Cooper think Trump should do? Rely on the Chinese to rein Kim in? That’s like relying on Wahhabist Saudis to de-radicalise al-Qaeda jihadists. Obama tried that, btw.

The Chinese will agree just to keep their favourable trade agreement, if they don’t India is ready and capable to step in. Why would Trump give away anything else?

  87. It also was a huge moment demonstrating just how totally left wing the Conservative movement in America is.

Not just America, conservatives globally are soft leftoids, they have submitted to the cultural marxist meme of gender equality and kowtow on the alter of multiculturalism.

  88. iampeter

Dot, I was thinking about it some more so just wanted to add a better post on the Trump administration.

America has over $100Trillion in unfunded liabilities in social security and healthcare programs, so technically any administration not running on reforming and winding down these things is by definition big government.

Adding to this the inability of the Trump administration to repeal Obamacare and the Conservatives in office drafting a bill that shifts the entire healthcare debate further leftward by proposing Trumpcare instead of outright repeal AND add to that the anti-immigrant wall, that will keep cheap labor out and make the unions happy AND add to that the anti-free trade policies and rhetoric AND add to that the strong arming of private businesses and what we have is one helluva big government left wing administration and conservative government in America right now.

Honestly do capitalists look at things like his appointment of a skeptic as head of EPA and similar trivialities as offsetting anything in that list?

  89. testpattern

Trump continues to make the U.S. weaker. First he tried to use Taiwan – an ally – as leverage, backed down and dumped them. Then he killed the tpp handing the initiative to China. Now he wants China’s help to stop nk developing nukes that can reach the U.S. It will cost him. there’s a pattern here and it’s all good for China. Hegemon deals itself out of asia, returns to Middle East quagmire, is replaced by a concert of nations.

  90. Dr Fred Lenin
