Lies, damned lies and the media

FURTHER SATURDAY LATE AFTERNOON UPDATE: Picked up at Drudge but from The Oz of all places: Journalists drink too much, are bad at managing emotions, and operate at a lower level than average, according to a new study.

Journalists’ brains apparently show a lower level of executive functioning, which means a below average ability to regulate their emotions, suppress biases, solve complex problems, switch between tasks, and show creative and flexible thinking.

These are the results of a formal study and thus THE SCIENCE IS SETTLED.
__________________________

Two classic examples of the media being unable to see why no one with any sense believes a word they say. First from America. Having backed for the past eight years and to the hilt the biggest liar in American political history, they now come up with this.

It would be the ultimate irony if Trump now faces a crisis in which his lifelong strength turns into a fatal weakness. His rich and checkered history of salesmanship, his exaggerations, fudges and falsehoods, leave him in a situation now where, even if he is right on this one, people will have a hard time believing that this one time Donald Trump is finally telling the truth.

Warning Donald Trump about crying wolf! What a bunch of clowns! The media are the most disgusting, disgraceful, dishonest crew whose take on nothing can be trusted. It would certainly be the case that if the media told the actual truth about something important one day – it could happen – who would take their word for it other than their fellow leftists who only want to hear what they want to believe?

And it’s not just commission but omission. This from Andrew Bolt is truly astonishing. And the more I dwell on it, the more astonished I become. It truly is incredible.

After years of hearing only the alarmist view on the warmist ABC, a listener put in an FOI request [with the link to a Catallaxy comment that should be read in full]. This is Andrew’s summary:

He asks:

The document I seek is a list of links to articles related to “global-warming”, “climate-change”, “CO2” and “coral bleaching” that represent the sceptical view of those respective debates – as presented by the ABC on all its platforms.

I have listened, viewed and searched for years and I’ve not found any sceptical articles on the ABC’s platforms.

The ABC’s response:

I have taken reasonable steps to identify and locate all relevant documents. My search for these documents involved contacting the following relevant people, who in turn consulted with relevant managers and staff within their respective teams:

• Director News• Manager Editorial Policies, News.

I requested that searches be conducted of all hard and soft copy records for documents which fall within the scope of your request. As a result of those searches, no documents were identified.

Quite clearly the responder at the ABC has no idea how bizarre this reply is. The gotcha is that they cannot find a single example not that they might have found a few. The null response is the scandal. On one of the most important public policy issues of our time, the ABC can provide not a single example of having discussed the sceptical side of the issue. That they cannot see how incredibly dishonest this is – not even recognising that this is how it would look to people such as us – is a massive example why the entire public broadcasting enterprise needs to be wound down. They are blind to their own lies and are unwilling to facilitate public debate on any issue it has already pre-judged.

CONFIRMATION FROM A MOST UNLIKELY SOURCE: Funny thing not even noticing our own post this morning but the grandchildren are visiting so a bit distracted. But now that I’ve caught up, let me continue along these same themes with something else: Harvard Study Reveals Huge Extent of Anti-Trump Media Bias. Read it all, even if you know what it says already. It is that it is being said that is interesting, though you won’t find any news reports in the morning. This is how it starts.

A major new study out of Harvard University has revealed the true extent of the mainstream media’s bias against Donald Trump.

Academics at the Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics and Public Policy analyzed coverage from Trump’s first 100 days in office across 10 major TV and print outlets.

It found that the tone of some outlets was negative in as many as 98% of reports, significantly more hostile than the first 100 days of the three previous administrations:

Even the sainted Fox is 52% negative which might explain its recent fade.

And yet, our elected representatives do NOTHING! They go about their daily rounds quivering with the fear that they may say or do something that “Your ABC” will notice and comment upon disdainfully.
Were it not for catheters and Depends their trousers would carry perpetual anxiety stains.

    I’m shocked, I tell you.

Been that way since the days of Malcolm Fraser.

I’m somewhat surprised that you have linked to a Cat story via Bolt. The failure of their ABC is a headline story here.

  5. Rabz

There was one example which the lazy drone at the ALPBC who responded to Beliaik’s request didn’t pick up.

“The Grate Global Warming Swindle”, broadcast on the ALPBC on 11 July 2007 and followed by this intolerable orchestrated denunciation by various Pharisees, led by Antonio Jones Jr ($410,000).

Trigger Warning: Staggeringly stupid fat monstrously ugly hysterical anti-scientific fact and evidence free tax hoovering collectivist imbeciles screeching interminably at top note (YHBW).

  6. James of the Glen

There is a very straightforward question which always needs to be asked of the proponent of a hypothesis that has been tested. It requires a very straightforward answer:

“Is there any evidence which does not support your hypothesis?”.

Of course, only a charlatan will answer “no”.
A little like, “did anyone vote against you, Kim Jong-Un?”.

The tester must then be asked what it is. The ABC never asks the questions. It is a shagging disgrace and the very antithesis of the Scientific Method. Even this morning the useless 100 metre-Williams was at it again, whining with an ex-CSIRO type about not being taken seriously. Can you believe it.

  7. RobK

    James,
If only they could ask that question, not only in the science area but also more generally such as when reporting on Indonesians who tackle the slaughter of cattle with poor technique and equipment.

  8. Malcolm Thomas

Only 98 per cent negative. Given Trump’s unending series of lies, broken promises, alternative facts, policy failures and stuff-ups, starting with his idiotic attack on crowd figures on day 1, anything less than complete negativity arvuably shows thst the media is going easy on him.

  9. Hamish Marshall

“starting with his idiotic attack on crowd figures on day 1,” sorry son, you have been completely hoodwinked by your Der Stumer of choice. Marxist media published photos of the Trump inauguration hours before it had started and only 20% of the attending citizenry had arrived. They then overlayed a photo the Obama inauguration attendance after the commencement of proceedings. You are putty!

  10. That is too funny. That the ABC walked blindly into such an obvious trap is simply hilarious.

Speaking of funny – ABC, here, walk through this door.

  11. Herodotus

This morning the ABC News Radio led off at 5.30 with their latest anti-Trump piece, quoting the NYT and WAPO.
Another FOI request that would draw a blank would be any report favourable to either Ronald Reagan or George W. Bush during their tenure at the White House.

  12. Fulcrum

Maybe the big message in the statistics for Fox (52/48) is that they are the most even handed news outlet,

    Remember this?

Donald Trump just called the media the ‘enemy of the American people’ (ABC)

Looks like Harvard has just proven him absolutely right.

I’m amused that the ABC comes up at the top of the list when I searched just now…when having read yesterday how they have been giving money to Google for that preferential service.
Shut them down, fire them all.

  14. Texas Jack

The gotcha is that they cannot find a single example not that they might have found a few. The null response is the scandal.

The scandal is that on the very eve of the 2013 election Tony Abbott turned the political football towards his own goal mouth and slotted the following madness straight between his goalies legs; “No cuts to education, no cuts to health, no change to pensions, no change to the GST and no cuts to the ABC or SBS.”.

The kids down in Ultimo and Southbank are doing exactly what we should expect them to do given what they belong to, how they’re funded, who they collect along the way, and the fact they’ve been protected, untouchable forever regardless of who owns the Treasury benches. Already assured of the committed backing of the ALP and the Greens who can blame them for trying to concrete-in their picnic spot on the edge of the swamp given the absurdity of the implied backing of the LNP? I don’t blame the ABC. I do blame the LNP.

  17. Malcolm

It should be no surprise that Harvard faculty are not disposed to Trump – the man is a freak show and totally unfit for office. Any sane person would be anti-Trump. Kates drivel proves the point.

  18. iampeter

Did media bias make Trump and the Conservatives push for the biggest spending bill ever?
Did media bias make Trump and the Conservatives fail to repeal Obamacare and set the stage for nationalized healthcare?
Did media bias make Trump and the Conservatives fail to offer any coherent legislative alternative to that of the left?
Even the stupid wall which remains one of the biggest reasons anyone voted for Trump in this election isn’t going to be happening now. Was that also media’s fault?

If they can’t do anything when you have control of every branch of government then the problem isn’t the media, it’s that they have no idea what they are doing.

Also if you think this is bad, then imagine if our media was actually competent and knew what they were doing. They would be slamming Conservatives and Trump even more for the absolute shit-show that they are.

We are just watching Conservatism go up in flames and Conservatives blame everyone except themselves.

    It’s for the best.

  19. Malcolm

Trump is a liar – the worst of liars – a pathological liar. So, Kates, why go on about the media when they accurately report the mess that is the Trump administration?

Trump is the leaker of the free world.

And as for your stupid defence of Trump’s leak to Russia – that shows you have NO IDEA about national security. Trump gave away top secret information provided by the Israeli government WITHOUT THE APPROVAL of the Israeli government. That shows Trump cannot maintain security. It is an appalling breach of faith with an ally.

Trump is doing the best job he can, probably like most former presidents, and it is policies and results that matter.
But it’s a wall of almost hate from a lot of the media about Donald Trump, day in, day out. Subtle ugly hints about his marriage, about his children, that he is insane and a traitor, stories written with no basis in fact.

The media is very persuasive though and fires up vulnerable minds as we see, who can’t look at it objectively let alone give someone a fair go.

  22. cohenite

Actually the abc is not only biased but totally inept; before Chip Rowley became publisher of The Drum, during Green’s editor period a few sceptical articles were published by:

    Jo Nova
    David Stockwell

But the late great Bob Carter was censored:

    http://quadrant.org.au/opinion/doomed-planet/2010/03/abc-gags-bob-carter/

And now under the loathsome chip Rowley nothing gets through.

  23. Malcolm

Karl Rove, who was George W. Bush’s top political adviser, has warned the Trump presidency is at “a critical moment” with “true-blue Trump supporters … questioning whether their man is up to the job”. Americans, he has said, “want a president who is steadier, humbler, better disciplined, more honest and fully engaged on creating jobs, pay cheques and prosperity — the issues that got Mr Trump to the White House”. Of the President’s prospects, Mr Rove has concluded: “Either he changes or he fails.”

Except Steve Kates who will take no criticism of Trump.

  24. Malcolm

PS: just because the media is biased doesn’t mean that they are not right on this occasion about Trump.

  25. stackja

I have observed the media since 1968 through a BS meter.
I do not believe Nixon did that much wrong.
DT has done a mostly good job.
Previous presidents, mostly Dem had done much the same or even worse, but were not criticised.
    Why? Ask the MSM.
ALP has gone mostly uncriticised since Curtin. Again why? Again ask the MSM.

  26. Carpe Jugulum

  28. MD

We have seen with a large media organisation in Australia and a large newspaper in the US that the Left are prepared to destroy their source of employment rather than put aside their hatred and prejudices.
For example, the other day I went to a well-known US business website to get some information on exchange rates. Their story on movements in the US dollar was riddled with leftist bile about the US dollar taking a hit because of the ‘besieged’ Trump presidency. It was immediately obvious to me that I could no longer rely on the publication to provide well-considered analysis.

  29. iampeter

Look at how many topics Comey ignored on Clinton and Obama

And who stopped Conservatives from ending the Obama administration as a result of this?

Democrats can turn a non-story of nonsense that doesn’t even make any sense like “Trump, Russia, collusion” and now have a special council in play, while Conservatives couldn’t even get a special prosecutor assigned in what was open and shut, breach of the espionage act and possibly the biggest pay for play corruption scandal to be investigated in the countries history.

Not to mention all the other scandals…

    Conservatives suck at politics.

    Because they don’t understand politics.

Meanwhile the left knows exactly what its doing.

But yea everyone, lets keep blaming the media.

That’s because Trump, unlike George W, represents a genuine threat to the Left’s control of the political agenda and the institutions of the country. It’s the same in this country. The leftist media go easy on the Liberals and Nationals but hammer One Nation and, soon, the Australian Conservatives. I note, too, that from John Howard’s more frequent appearances on the ABC they are coming to accept that his government was also beneficial to ‘the cause’ – something that true conservatives have known all along. The Left and the coalition parties c0-exist under an unstated truce: don’t go near our stuff (meaning the Left’s stuff) and we won’t hammer you in the media.

Carr: GOP pols spineless amid fake-news Russian ‘collusion’ scandal

Where the hell are all the Republicans on Capitol Hill?

Have you ever seen — or not seen — such a bunch of cowardly, spineless front-running, back-pedaling political curs?

The sniveling Beltway GOP is doing their best to MAGA — Make America Gutless Again.

You could at least understand their terror if there was even a scintilla, an iota, a shred of evidence that Donald Trump had “colluded” with the Russians, whatever that means. But there isn’t, so why are they cowering in abject fear of the pajama boys in the fake-news media and their Democrat fellow travelers?

The Republicans are all wringing their hands and whimpering how “troubled” and “disturbed” and “concerned” they are by these allegations of … what exactly? The solons claim to be hearing “echoes” of Watergate. It’s all the usual suspects — John McCain, Lindsey Graham, and now Kelly Ayotte’s replacement in the RINO chorus line, Ben Sasse of Nebraska.

Most of these people have always hated Trump. They were hoping the summer White House would be reopening next weekend at Walker Point in Kennebunkport. Think Gov. Charlie Baker, that RINO’s RINO. Now they’re saying, “I told you so.” They’re being quoted (anonymously) in stories with headlines like “President Mike Pence,” as if the lynch mob would be satisfied with just Trump’s scalp.

The few Republicans in Congress who even dare to go in front of a camera call for “immediate classified briefings,” or they try to issue mealy-mouthed on-the-one-hand-on-the-other-hand statements while quivering in fear.

“It may be something very serious,” said Rep. Carlos Curbelo (R-Fla.), “or it may be nothing.”

Like Inspector Clouseau, he suspects everyone, he suspects no one.

But most of the Republicans are totally MIA, just like they were in October after the “Access Hollywood” tapes came out. The difference is, back then there was actually something to run from, plus it looked like Trump was going down in a landslide.

But now he’s the president. And this “scandal” is like a political version of the old book, “Extraordinary Popular Delusions and the Madness of Crowds.” If you ever wondered what it was like during the Salem witch trials back in 1692, just turn on CNN or MSNBC.

These Republicans are now declaiming that this special prosecutor will be “bipartisan,” and that his probe will be over in a matter of months. Are they serious? Look at this guy Robert Mueller. He went to prep school with John Kerry, he was brought to Boston by Bill Weld, he was appointed by a Bush and worked for an Obama.

Totally on the level, in other words.

Let me be the first to say, if you want to hide something real good, just stick it in one of Robert Mueller’s law books.

The jackals have no evidence — even Maxine Waters and Dianne Feinstein have conceded that. James Comey said under oath earlier this month that there had been no interference from the White House. The Democrats just can’t accept the fact that they lost the election. Period. They refuse to realize that sometimes, as Shakespeare wrote, the fault is not in the stars, but in ourselves.

Instead, they spin their fantasies. Impeachment, they say, is in the air. Not to mention a whiff of fascism, according to Comrade Chris Matthews.

Yep, there’s a whiff of something in the air all right, but it isn’t fascism. Just hope I don’t get any on my shoe.

  32. Malcolm Thomas

Trump is doing the best job he can.

So too did Abott. The problem is that neither were up to the task. Both advocated some important policies, but through their appalling performance (and non performance) in office have besmirched themselves and turned those policies into political poison. Even Ann Coulter is now disavowing Trump.
Unfortunately, politically naive galoots like Kates keep seeing, hearing and speaking no evil – even though by continuing to reflexively cheer for their naked emporers they just strengthen the credibility of those with contrary views and make the reform agenda these people claimed to stand for ever more dismissable.

Vox Day just published this excellent news from ZeroHedge

Senate Demands White House Tapes, Comey Memos On Just About Everyone

    Friday, May 19, 2017

It appears the former FBI Director may have badly misplayed his hand when he raised the issue of his
    memos:

Yesterday, the New York Times reported that former Director Comey created memos regarding his interactions with President Trump, “a paper trail Mr. Comey created documenting what he perceived as the president’s improper efforts to influence an ongoing investigation.”‘ ‘The article stated that “Mr. Comey created similar memos – including some that are classified about every phone call and meeting he had with the president.” More generally, the article stated “Mr. Comey was known among his closet advisers to document conversations that he believed would later be called into question.” Presumably, this means that Mr. Comey created similar memoranda relating to other controversial conversations, whether with officials in the current administration or the prior one.

We – meaning the Senate Judiciary Committee – are writing to request that the FBI provide the Committee with all such memos, if they exist, that Mr. Comey created memorializing interactions he had with Presidents Trump and Obama, Attorneys General Sessions and Lynch, and Deputy Attorneys General Rosenstein, Boente, and Yates regarding the investigations of Trump associates’ alleged connections with Russia or the Clinton email investigation. Please provide these documents by no later than May 24, 2017.

So, either Comey will be revealed as an unreliable source if he has no other memos, or he’s going to have to spill whatever dirt he’s been hiding in defense of Hillary Clinton to the Senate committee. What is interesting is that this is a bipartisan senatorial effort; further complicating the matter is the fact that recordings of some of these meetings may exist as well.

If Comey thought that he could damage the President by artful hintings and bluffing, it looks like he miscalculated.

  34. MD

This whole Russia thing is just being fabricated by the Left to try to destabilise Trump’s administration. Go back to the start and what do you have? The Left made vague claims about Russia ‘hacking the election’, which is a totally meaningless expression. Did they hack the Federal Electoral Commission and tamper with the electronic votes? No. Did they hack into US government computers and destabilise the Obama administration? No.
What did happen, but the Left want to avoid acknowledging, is that someone (Assange said it was an individual and not a state actor) hacked Podesta’s email account and made public some emails that were potentially damaging to the Clinton campaign, such as:
    – the leftist media colluding with the DNC – for example, by providing in advance a list of questions that would be asked in an interview – so that Hillary would be presented in the best light;
    – that the DNC may be favouring Clinton over Sanders;
    – another that I recall – but don’t have the time to find – was to do with a speech Clinton gave to a group of business people at a closed-door function. It was to do with her views on illegals or open borders – I don’t recall which, but perhaps someone else can run with it.

    http://www.politico.com/live-blog-updates/2016/10/john-podesta-hillary-clinton-emails-wikileaks-000011
    https://wikileaks.org/podesta-emails/

So we are talking about DNC campaign material. It has nothing at all to do with the government or the conduct of the polling. The leftist media are sitting down every night to fabricate accusations about Trump with which to fill their morning editions, and, you will note, they are always careful to manufacture accusations that can neither be confirmed nor denied.

  35. struth

Those knobs claiming Trump has done something wrong and critical of Steve Kates position, put up or STFU.

    Facts please
    Go………….

  36. cohenite

    What are the facts:

Trump: that grotesque creature Maxine Waters says we are going to impeach Trump for colluding with the Russians; what evidence does she have: none; she admits that. No fucking evidence at all because there is none.

Clinton, Comey and the rest of the shit pile:
1 Hillary, the secretary of state, the 3rd most important person in the Obama administration, took her server off site to solicit funds for the Clinton Foundation; she got huge amounts of money including $460 million from Australia and subsequently employed that !@#$%^&! Gillard who gave more than any other politician.
2 Clinton’s chief of staff, Huma Abedin, who is affiliated with the muslim brotherhood, and who is married to Anthony Weiner, the best named politician ever, who is a sexual deviant and who chatted on sex sites with underage girls and who had on his computer he was using to chat with underage girls over 60000 emails from Clinton’s official server.
3 Clinton’s campaign chief, John Podesta, had as a password for his computer, password and had access to Clinton’s emails.
4 There was no hacking of Clinton’s emails. Blind Freddy could have got access to them. Obviously people did. Official information of the highest order got out. What were the consequences: Benghazi: ambassador Stevens and his 3 SEALs were in a safe house; how did al qaeda know that?
5 Comey pardons Clinton, subverting the authority of the AG to make that call. Comey admits Clinton is guilty of an offence but should not be prosecuted because she didn’t mean to release classified information. Her crime however doesn’t require intent; the act itself is sufficient as many junior and senior members of the armed forces found out when they did such things as take selfies of themselves in submarines and send them to their girlfriends.
6 Prior to Comey pardoning Clinton, something he doesn’t have the authority to do and which is the justification for his subsequent dismissal by Trump, the AG, Loretta Lynch, who does have the authority to prosecute Clinton meets with Clinton’s husband for several hours in a private jet.

Desite all this and without any evidence and against reason and common sense the MSM is insanely calling for Trump’s dismissal, prosecution, impeachment, castration.

The media is the fucking enemy of the West. Without the media left creatures like Waters and that other fucking bag nancy Pelosi would be lying in a gutter.

Crazy old Aunt Maxine also reckons Comey has no credibility!

The solution is easy remove country and emergency radio and tv ,and forbid it political comment on pain of closure , get the rest and sbs and float them on the SX ,pay the comrades “entitlements ” super and pensions in shares in the companies he ,charge commercial rent for premises and lease broadcasting facilities and equipment at commercial rates . They can deduct these expenses from tax ,then they will become a taxpayer instead of a tax eater , They should be allowed the option of purchasing their offices . Studios and equipment from the massive profits they will make , and of course pay company tax rates . I suggest fatty adams as chairman with snowcone as vice ,the board of directors should include giliard, thompson. the jailbird williamson and the entire health services union executive people noted for their financial skills ,honesty and good pardee members,Problem solved tovarishi .

No, it isn’t. Where is your testable hypothesis stated? Falls at first hurdle. What is the controlled variable?
Having stated such an hypothesis, how did you test it? You had the perfect controlled experiment? Really? No errors able to creep in?

  42. iampeter

That’s a great post Cohenite, but I don’t think you can lay all the blame at the feet of the media. Where were the Conservatives through all of this?

Democrats can turn a completely baseless, made-up, non-issue into a special council but Conservatives couldn’t turn slam dunk jail-term carrying crimes into a special prosecutor?

Sorry but Conservatives just suck at politics, even without the media in the equation.

We kind of saw this with Comey during the election. When he testified before Trey Gowdy, laughing in his face, boldly stating how there was no serious investigation and how this non-investigation found Hillary innocent of non-required intent, all he got was some grumbling in his general direction. Now compare that to the response from the Democrats when he later sent his supplementary letter.

Democrats have a collectivist ideology they are fighting for and they are in it to win.
Conservatives have no coherent ideology and have nothing to fight for and are in it for a tough-talking youtube clip, to help them win the next mid-term.

    Democrats take politics seriously.
Conservatives view it as some lazy 9-5 office job with long lunches.

Can’t just blame the media for everything, they have to start owning some of this mess.

  43. Texas Jack

Dr Fed Lenin: “The solution is easy remove country and emergency radio and tv ,and forbid it political comment on pain of closure , get the rest and sbs and float them on the SX ,pay the comrades “entitlements ” super and pensions in shares in the companies he ,charge commercial rent for premises and lease broadcasting facilities and equipment at commercial rates…”

Better to just shut them down while dropping licence fees for private free-to-air and radio to zero, with the stipulation that each private licencee must broadcast an hour of ad-free news and/or current affairs between 0500 and 1000, and another between 1600 and 2100. Elegant simplicity. Natural diversity. Level playing fields uncrowded by publicly funded behemoths. All at zero cost to the taxpaying public.

  44. Rayvic

“On one of the most important public policy issues of our time, the ABC can provide not a single example of having discussed the sceptical side of issue. That they cannot see how incredibly dishonest this is – not even recognising that this is how it would look to people such as us- is a massive example why the entire public broadcasting enterprise needs to be wound down. ”

By completely censoring out any material on the sceptical side of the issue, it is not surprising that the ABC counters any complaint of bias with the retort that it is not biased.

  45. mh

Heartland hates the Washington swamp now just like they did last year and the year before that.

If the Washington Post/NYT/CNN wasn’t attacking Trump everyday, heartland would believe Trump wasn’t doing his job. Trump would have told J Edgar Hoover to get pack his bags, whereas all the other Presidents cowered in fear of reprisals.

Nothing new about that. You can also add that most of them cannot spell, have absolutely no idea about grammar and regularly use incorrect words because they can’t be bothered using a dictionary.

No, it isn’t. Where is your testable hypothesis stated?

Go on and flap your arms, if you fly like a bird then I’m an idiot.

    “Journalists drink too much.”

Yep, we also used to have a lot of fun before PC stole it.

Happiest workplaces ever were newsrooms and editorial floors. Every day was an excuse to go to work and have fun with interesting people.

Our time was 60s-90s, then off to the dark side of self employment, banks, accountants, but fortunately the clients paid to have fun with us.

that grotesque creature Maxine Waters says we are going to impeach Trump for colluding with the Russians

In her own head, it’s probably already happened.

This video is classic CNN, where a CNN tag team has a republican in their cross hairs.

He argued to see the evidence and discuss it with those present, while the hysterical tag team claimed that the word of their two anonymous sources supported by other leftist media sources cannot we disputed.

Maybe, the republican should have uped the bidding by claiming that he had 50 anonymous sources and that beats CNN’s two. Then all of us could have had a laugh.

    I left it all day.
    Not one fact.
    Hmmmm…….

(Despite) all this and without any evidence and against reason and common sense, the MSM is insanely calling for Trump’s dismissal, prosecution, impeachment, castration.

Surely the rumor, that the President thinks Comey to be eccentric, is all the evidence the MSM needs.

  53. Fulcrum

I see the ABC and the BBC are convinced that Trump is under fire at home despite the fact that no evidence is the latest news on Russia and anonymous sources are the best that the leftist media ca come up with.

Presumed Innocence used to be right but unfortunately if the media gets it way, times will be a changing.

Fond memories of after late night IT development work with a Team from Boston, retreating to the Sydney Journalists Club in 166 Phillip Street for a late night drink (24 hours Liquor Licence), plus one of the guys from Boston played a magnificent piano – great to listen to at 2 am while winding down with a drink

Sydney once boasted of one of the world’s wildest and wooliest Journalists clubs. Unique in Australia, the club owned its own city building which served as a centre for strikes, union meetings, offered literary awards, held a star studded guest speaker series and a library founded by one Australia’s leading poets and featured, lets admit it, a good deal of drinking.

According to veteran artist, George Sprod, the Journalists Club was “the liveliest place in Sydney at the time”. “Journalists were a gregarious lot, full of fun and games…on account of their boozing tendencies.

Arguments were frequent, sometimes erupting into beer slinging and fisticuffs, while as for the Fruit [poker] Machines…on more than one occasion a frustrated investor had been seen to lift up the offending contraption bodily and hurl it through the window into the street below.

I reckon if The Great Abbottbeast had have Trumped it out, when their australian swampfilth were running their hysterical mass suicidal rapture against him, the enemy would have actually started to burn out and die from their own end-of-days madness.

Their abc radio national did blame Trumps election for the death of a much loved by the left, but unheard of by me, elderly and terminally ill lefty.

“She just gave up when Trump stole America” mourned their abc

On the front page of the Sun-Herald this morning:

“Climate scientists warn Sydney will have tropical waters by 2040-60.”

How the declination of the Earth is to shift by 11 degrees by then wasn’t explained.
