Even in DC there are Trump supporters

Sebastian Gorka is his name and he has been doing the rounds defending PDT because it does seem no one else is doing it, not even PDT. Trump himself probably thinks his critics are complete buffoons and cannot imagine they get any traction. My own view is any port in a storm for the left who rally around the most ridiculous ideas since there really is nothing else for them to say. This is Ace of Spade defending Gorka against Jake Tapper who had unbelievably argued in re Ben Rhodes v Gorka that “I’m sure he would put his graduate degree up against yours any day of the week.” This is Ace:

We must assume that Gorka put down Ben Rhodes as not having any advanced training in any political field, or for being a would-be novelist (or a very good post-modern novelist who used American Foreign Policy as his medium) which are… true.

For a comparison of Gorka v Rhodes, go to the link. Ben Rhodes remains my ultra favourite example of the disgusting level of deceit and anti-Western malevolence of the Obama White House, and a further reminder of what we have been spared with the US having elected Donald Trump. But what I especially like about Gorka is his wish to get out and attack the media and the left. Meanwhile the headline at the top of this morning’s Washington Post is “Lobbyist attended Trump Jr. meeting” although Trump in Paris is there as well – a full colour picture too.

And I am happy to say that the last two days have been entirely in the company of some among the 6% in DC who did not vote for Hillary.

The meeting to end civilisation, took just 20 minutes. Introductions, a few minor courtesies and then faustian deal sorted and signed off. 20 minutes of Trump jnr ’ s life constantly thrashing around and around in the Metropoles lives, as every comma is turned over to find the hidden clauses of this monstrous contract. That as they pursue the story the extras they are digging up appear to be Hillary friends more than Trump friends is immediately turned around, confirmation bias has overwhelmed them. At some point very soon they need to contemplate the old adage, stop digging and burying yourselves.

Some of my acquaintance have long argued that why would the Russians have been feeding Trump stuff to hurt Hillary. One, like every other pundit they too thought she was a shoe in. Two they like everyone else knew she was venal so if they had anything it meant they had her by the proverbial when she was President. This American madness fails the logic test, and the sanity test. And it never occurs to them if the man they considered to be an idiot incapable of intelligent thought beat THEM, maybe the cognitive problem is theirs.

Interestingly I think the Russians have stopped holding their sides laughing at the American Entitled Elites tearing their country to shreds and are now getting irritated with the constant dribble questions, and just maybe concerned the fools are destabilising the globe.

Nicholas Taleb describes their Intellectual Yet Idiot this way after the Trump win, something he had expected,

“The election of Trump was so absurd to them and didn’t fit their worldview by such a large margin that they failed to find instructions in their textbook on how to react. It was exactly as on Candid Camera, imagine the characteristic look on someone’s face after they pull a trick on him, and the person is at a loss about how to react.
Or, more interestingly, imagine the looks and reaction of someone who thought he was happily married making an unscheduled return home and hears his wife squealing in bed with a (huge) doorman.
Pretty much everything forecasters, subforecasters, superforecasters, political “scientists”, psychologists, intellectuals, campaigners, “consultants”, big data scientists, everything they know was instantly shown to be a hoax. So my mischievous dream of putting a rat inside someone’s shirt (as expressed in The Black Swan) suddenly came true.”

Only just not as funny as the immediate response was of taking to their beds shaking. The malignancy of the thwarted Elites of the Left and Right is seriously challenging even the facade that is democracy currently. And Trump is not an expert on the Administrative State and Law I would suspect and maybe is vulnerable to its/their constant machinations. Trumplaw and it’s philosophy, forced out of an UCLA lawyer by one judge with integrity, that the notion of the Rule of Law and equality before the Law didn’t count with Trump because Trump not a nice guy, can he beat them at that game?

What can we do. Like Red America, politely answer questions from Blue America and then just get on with work and life. Suddenly the People from Anywhere, or May’s Citizens of Nowhere, wan’t to confirm their understandings of how the Peripheries, the “People” (I think this minor adjustment to Goodhart’s line is improved with addition of commas around People of this category) from Somewhere think, and grunt, by actually speaking to them. Their ability to respond with the equanimity and kindness which we see is quite remarkable. The Entitled Elites still don’t hear them though.

Some do, a reporter corrected a BBC character expressing his sympathy with the French having to endure Trump. This journo pointed out that most were quite happy with him visiting.

  4. Razor

This journo pointed out that most were quite happy with him visiting.

Looks to moi that the French were very Happy to see him.

I have read that the Trump junior bit is being extended by any MSM nothingburger (like that word) because he is on diplomacy overseas. They don’t want the idiot elites and plebs perceiving the good that he is achieving.

I read somewhere though can’t remember the publication just now that Putin said the American media have lost their minds. He was reported to have also said that the world needs a strong America.

It’s really sad for the US that its purported greatest enemy wishes it well while its own media seeks to destroy it rather than be proven wrong.

We can add to this long list of hangers on the actual senators and congress men and women who have a paramount obligation to represent their voters yet 94% of them are derelict in their duties.

If Trump survives he will have achieved something extraordinary in the face of such opposition.

I don’t care if the Democrats disappear. That said I find myself for the first time ever in simpatico with a Julian Assange message. Not exactly an original thought but still interesting to read him expressing it. And in its way a Trump positive, could be taken as it is the Democrats that are the problem, or it is the Democrats that are is so much trouble despite all the shrieking and wailing about Trump and how the Elites of the Right don’t like him either.

“The Democratic establishment has vortexed the party’s narrative energy into hysteria about Russia (a state with a lower GDP than South Korea). It is starkly obvious that were it not for this hysteria insurgent narratives of the type promoted by Bernie Sanders would rapidly dominate the party’s base and its relationship with the public. Without the “We didn’t lose–Russia won” narrative the party’s elite and those who exist under its patronage would be purged for being electorally incompetent and ideologically passé. The collapse of the Democratic vote over the last eight years is at every level, city, state, Congressional and presidential.

It corresponds to the domination of Democratic decision making structures by a professional, educated, urban service class and to the shocking decline in health and longevity of white males, who together with their wives, daughters, mothers, etc. comprise 63% of the US population (2010 census). Unlike other industrialized countries US male real wages (all ethnic groups combined) have not increased since 1973. In trying to stimulate engagement of non-whites and women Democrats have aggressively promoted identity politics. This short-term tactic has led to the inevitable strategic catastrophe of the white and male super majorities responding by seeing themselves as an unserviced political identity group. Consequently in response to sotto-voce suggestions that Trump would service this group 53% of all men voted for Trump, 53% of white women and 63% of white men (PEW Research).”

The solution? Assange advises Democrats to form a new party.

“The Democratic base should move to start a new party since the party elite shows no signs that they will give up power. This can be done quickly and cheaply as a result of the internet and databases of peoples’ political preferences. This reality is proven in practice with the rapid construction of the Macron, Sanders and Trump campaigns from nothing. The existing Democratic party may well have negative reputational capital, stimulating a Macron-style clean slate approach.””

The Liberal party of Australia could reflect on the response of the party’s elite to the notion of democratisation, mealy mouthed pretence underpinned by almost veiled threats. Go Cory.

  8. Razor

It seems to me that Cory had a difficult decision in when to start the new party. Often early starters get lost in the future “look at me”copies. I think his timing is about right as long as the Libs don’t ditch Turnbull.

Are we just going to let that anti-semitic ((())) shit slide on the cat???

tgs, can you explain True Aussie’s post? I don’t get it.

  10. mh

Does anyone here know if the transcript of the Putin Interviews (Oliver Stone) has been put online?

  11. Robber Baron

Working class people in the USA knew that the Democrats didn’t represent them any longer. Hillary was the embodiment of the problem; she even called them deplorable. Trump filled the vacuum easily with a simple message, safety (walls from Mexicans and ban Muslims), jobs (energy (Climate Crap), reduce taxes and immigration) and America first (no more UN agenda). All are simple kitchen table issues that relate to all Americans. Not homo marriage etc. Just simple kitchen economics.

The best part is that the elites who hate Trump because he is bombastic, speaks like a 10 year old and has stupid hair. How ridiculous! Yet, the unwashed masses have the power and gave him the power for 4 years to do as he promised or they would vote for someone else. Trump is winning. The anger in the US comes from Washington, New York and California. Everyone else seems to be happy.

Similarly in Australia, a ridiculous PM by the name of Abbott, who spoke in pauses, was a religious nutter (according to the elites), uncultured (he ate an onion) and was such an embarrassment to the country on the international stage. He needed to be replaced by someone that looked prime ministerial and said all the right things. The anger in Australia comes from the base. People are unhappy in the suburbs and townships. Everyone in Canberra is happy.

Australia has it 180 degrees wrong.

Even in Canberra there are signs of some human intelligence ,you have to seek diligently ,but with patience you will find it . A tio for those who wish to try. Leave out politicians ,aparatchiks ,academics and public servants ,wasting your time there ,builders labourers ,gardeners and garbage men are yout best bet .

  17. mh

So all that True Aussie gets out of that excellent take down of the MSM by Sebastian Gorka is that Gorka is Jewish. Wow.

  18. Jannie

True Aussie (sic), Ben Rhodes had a Jewish mother, and you find it necessary to highlight that. You are a prick, you are not dinky di and don’t deserve the moniker you have assumed, and will be remembered.
