Poofter bashing has made a comeback.
Except the bashing is now being done for and in behalf of gays.

  2. Yes LL, my point is that no one’s vote will be changed. The polls have not moved all that much. Just depends on turnout, and from reports Yes voter enthusiasm is greater than No.

Valiant effort by you lot, credit where it’s due. Kids, you tried your best, and you failed miserably. The lesson is: never try.

  3. No sport that also has a World Championship event more frequently than every four years should be allowed to participate in the Olympics.

The Olympic soccer event should be scrapped. It is an under-23 competition, designed to stop the Olympics from rivalling the World Cup.

Abbott over reacted to getting headbutted in the street by a bloke who offered to shake his hand first. Fucking hell m0nty, you are a fucking chin dribbling spastic.

Not that bad. Good comeback by the Cats and especially Dangerfield.

How can such a gay-arse organisation as the AFL produce such a magnificent product? Seriously, it is one of life’s great mysteries.

    Apologies for the length:
    U.S. Center for Security Policy.

Who is Attacking U.S. Diplomats in Cuba?

Until the U.S. can figure out what is causing the U.S. and Canadian diplomats in Cuba serious health issues, it won’t be able to determine who is responsible for a series of what have been described as possible “sonic attacks”.

In November of 2016 until the spring of 2017, U.S. and Canadian diplomats started reported symptoms of permanent hearing loss or concussions, while others suffered nausea, headaches and ear-ringing. The symptoms were so bad for some that they had to return to the U.S. for treatment.

The health concerns of the diplomats only came to light in August, almost a year after the first symptoms were reported. The U.S. also confirmed that the latest incident occurred in August and 21 of their employees were suffering from symptoms.

In June, five Canadian diplomats and family members reported experiencing symptoms consistent with the symptoms U.S. diplomats experienced.

Some U.S. officials have said that the hearing loss was caused by a possible sonar device placed either inside or near the diplomats’ residences. The employees affected were not at the same place at the same time, and have recounted different symptoms and different recollections of what happened during the incidents. Some felt vibrations and heard sounds while others heard and felt nothing and their symptoms appeared later.

U.S. officials believe the symptoms were caused by an advanced acoustic or sonic device that operated outside the range of audible sound but a number of experts aren’t sure whether such a device exists. It is also unlikely that a device exists that is causing such a wide array of physical responses.

When U.S. officials spoke with President Raúl Castro about the incidents happening in Havana, he denied any responsibility and has promised to cooperate with the ongoing investigation.

The U.S. is uncertain about whether Cuba is the perpetrator of the attacks or whether a third party, or rogue group in Cuba is responsible.

Since these attacks are still happening and it is still unclear how they are occurring and who is responsible, the U.S. has debated closing down the U.S. Embassy in Havana. Earlier this year, the U.S. sent home two Cuban diplomats from the Cuban Embassy as retaliation for the Cuban government failing to protect the U.S. people in its country.

The Cuban government a history of harassing U.S. personnel in Cuba for decades but after the U.S. formally restored relations with Cuba in 2015, the campaign of harassment ended until these incidents began in late 2016. The Cuban government physically and psychologically harassed U.S. employees through surveillance, searching their residences, delaying shipments and limiting travel of U.S. personnel within Havana.

While Cuba has a track record of harassment of U.S. diplomats, the same cannot be said of Canadian officials. Cuba and Canada have maintained a mutually beneficial relationship for over 70 years with close social and economic ties. It’s unclear why Cuba would target Canadian citizens, given this history.

It’s possible the perpetrator may be a third party country such as Russia, or Venezuela, in an attempt to damage the relationship between the U.S. and Cuba; but if there is any evidence which would suggest the nature of perpetrators it has not been publicly revealed.

Russian intelligence has a history of harassing foreign diplomats, even injuring a U.S.Embassy employee in the past. The Russian government has closed U.S. diplomatic sites and expelled U.S. diplomats in the past year, leading to a U.S. response. They are perhaps also the adversary most likely to have access to technology necessary for such an attack.

Another potential suspect is Venezuela, whose possible motive would be retaliation against the U.S for sanctioning Venezuelan leaders. Cuba and Venezuela have close relations, and U.S.-Venezuelan ties have degenerated since pro-democracy protests broke out in the South American Country. President Obama instituted sanctions against Venezuelan leaders in March of 2015, a policy President Trump has since expanded.

While there’s no evidence to rule out a rogue group or non-state actor, given that Cuba is a communist government with tight controls over the country and an efficient internal security forces, it is questionable how a non-state actor would manage to conduct such an attack and remain undetected absent state support.

Whichever part is carrying out the attacks, ultimately Cuba bears the responsibility for protecting diplomats in their nation, and their failure to do so is likely to dampen enthusiasm for continuing to improve U.S.-Cuban relations.

…Meanwhile, Abbott has completely overreacted to a very minor incident…

The M0ntys of this country will not be happy until a former Australian PM is killed in a very minor incident.
This issue is huge. An attack on the former PM must raise significant concerns because M0nty and his crowd are excusing violence because Abbott is hated. That hatred is widespread. Hence there is potential for attacks against him to keep escalating, with continued excuse-making from the ABC, SMH, and M0nty.
When the unthinkable happens, they will wonder why.

Oh by the way M0nty, the head butt and slightly swollen lip is not the incident. That a current MP and former PM can be successfully assaulted by a no-name fool points to a large gap in our defences against the increasingly violent left.

“We keep on talking about our relationship because it highlights how ridiculous our current law is, which says our relationship is lesser now that Penny has transitioned. But we are officially a same-sex marriage given she has transitioned,” Senator Rice says.

Well, Penny may have ‘transitioned’ but he is still a man and therefore there is no ridiculousness, beyond that of Penny’s pretense, in the law. Marriage just is a relationship between the sexes. This does not necessarily raise it ‘above’ other types of relationship, it just means it is ordered to different ends.

Sarah was in the fertilized egg business. She had several hundred young pullets and ten roosters to fertilize the eggs.

She kept records and any rooster not performing went into the soup pot and was replaced.

This took a lot of time, so she bought some tiny bells and attached them to her roosters. Each bell had a different tone, so she could tell from a distance which rooster was performing. Now, she could sit on the porch and fill out an efficiency report by just listening to the bells.

Sarah’s favorite rooster, old Butch, was a very fine specimen but, this morning she noticed old Butch’s bell hadn’t rung at all! When she went to investigate, she saw the other roosters were busy chasing pullets, bells-a-ringing, but the pullets hearing the roosters coming, would run for cover.

To Sarah’s amazement, old Butch had his bell in his beak, so it couldn’t ring. He’d sneak up on a pullet, do his job, and walk on to the next one.

Sarah was so proud of old Butch, she entered him in a Show and he became an overnight sensation among the judges.

The result was the judges not only awarded old Butch the “No Bell Peace Prize” they also awarded him the “Pulletsurprise” as well.

Clearly old Butch was a politician in the making. Who else but a politician could figure out how to win two of the most coveted awards on our planet by being the best at sneaking up on the unsuspecting populace and screwing them when they weren’t paying attention?

Canadian PM Justin Trudeau Says All Men Should Be Feminists, Calls For End to ‘Bro Culture’

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau called for “Bro culture” to come to an end and said all men need to become feminists and “shut down” one another’s “negative conversations” in locker rooms.

“It’s not only that men can be feminists, it’s that men should be feminists as well,” Trudeau said with a lisp Wednesday at a United Nations youth empowerment meeting in New York.

‘He for She’ is a movement I hope you all of you go up and sign up for of men standing up for women, men shutting down some of those negative conversations that we get in locker rooms, in bro culture,” he said.

“We need to know that we are better than that,” Trudeau said. “How we treat our sisters, our girlfriends, our cousins, our mothers and the world around us matters. We need to take back what it is to be a man and that means being open, compassionate, respectful and brave about standing up for it.”

Just listened to podcast of Ben Fordham interview with Bernard Gaynor about the ADFA cadet who is gender neutral.

Good point raised about what the physical requirements for such a cadet would be. If started as a female then surely would have gone up ?! Is it an average between male and female ?

Gaynor mentioned that recently an Engineer officer had been designated to go through various orders, policies etc to insert a new word covering the non male or female person.

Gaynor mentioned instructional staff afraid to discipline the cadet as they would normally do for fear of a complaint.

My personal view is that if you apply as one gender then that is the gender you should remain as in the ADF. You cant have a Lt graduating from Duntroon and being attached to an infantry battalion and months later before a deployment say wish to be considered female or neutral. It should be written into the paperwork to start. I would think it is impossible for the person to not know at time of recruitment that they have such issues and it is misleading their potential employer not to mention them. Since the ADF has been paying for transgender medical operations all their policies are doing is encouraging more to enlist. Once they are in ADF they become a sensitive issue for people to deal with.

Another problem ADF has is that they have Diversity advisers etc who are actually encouraging such recruits as it somehow improves the organisation. It doesn’t. All it does is makes those who serve with them have to think about how not to offend the person and senior officers become fearful as to how to deal with them.

Let the public service employ them if Government is so keen. Just not organisations where guns are involved and discipline is vital.

Every gentleman should have a library, in the same manner that every lady should have a boudoir. When we purchased the retirement property a few years ago, there was a separate “studio.” I bagged it for a library – several bookshelves, comfortable chair, brew gear and a decanter of Scotch close handy. I did find out later that the Memsahib had had her eyes on the studio as a “boudoir”, however, when the original house was destroyed in a bushfire, and we rebuilt, she got her “boudoir.”

White South African family’s refugee bid rejected, accused of boosting case with ‘racist propaganda’

A white family from South Africa has had their refugee claim for asylum in Canada rejected, having been accused of submitting “white-supremacist hate literature” to bolster their claims of violence by the black majority in their homeland.

The claim of the family of six was based on being white South Africans at risk of persecution due to their race, namely Afrikaners, the white minority descended from Dutch settlers in Southern Africa.

Eric Williams Endre and Sonja Endre, a married couple, along with two of their children and Sonja’s parents, all came to Canada in 2016 to visit relatives living here and made refugee claim 10 days later.

The Endres said they were victims of carjacking in 1995, were assaulted on their farm by four black men who entered their home and robbed them in 2004, had their home burglarized in 2013, their car stolen from outside their house in 2014 and, that same year, three black men tried to steal Sonja’s cell phone while she was working.

The Immigration and Refugee Board denied them refugee protection, saying there was no reliable evidence they were attacked due to their race, and it was more probable they were attacked for economic reasons — to steal their possessions

The Endre family appealed to the Federal Court of Canada, the latest challenge by white South Africans seeking asylum in Canada in post-apartheid South Africa.

They argued the IRB failed to adequately consider the children’s circumstances. They said their children cannot safely play in parks in South Africa; one was bullied and had been taken out of school; and their mother could not walk with her children without fearing they could be assaulted, raped or killed.

Defending the IRB’s decision, the government argued concerns for the children were based on “patently unreliable racist propaganda.”

A government lawyer said the fear of white children being raped by blacks was highly offensive as the information the family relied on was “white-supremacist hate literature” that should be ignored.

The government also said the Endres’ claim was based on a risk of generalized crime in South Africa, meaning that it could impact almost anyone, not only those who are white or Afrikaners.

Refugee status is not meant to protect people who face problems the general population of a country faces, but only fears of persecution specific to race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group or political opinion.

The international refugee system is not meant to offer a safe haven for all suffering people, the IRB’s published guidelines say.

In deciding the appeal, Justice René LeBlanc, said the refugee claim offered no evidence the state of South Africa is incapable of offering protection for their children from rape or murder.

“It is also settled law that absent a complete breakdown of state apparatus, it is presumed that a state is capable of protecting its citizens and that this presumption can only be rebutted by the refugee claimant with clear and convincing evidence,” LeBlanc said in a decision released last week.

    He denied the appeal.

Eight extreme things Fr. James Martin just said about Catholics and gay ‘marriage’

Father James Martin is one of the most vocal advocates for the Catholic Church’s acceptance of active homosexuality.

Since the publication of his book Building a Bridge, the Jesuit priest and newly made Vatican advisor has pushed his message to major media outlets and through his large social media following.

In an August 29 talk at Villanova University, Fr. Martin made some of his most extreme statements yet on homosexuality and Catholicism. He said a Catholic attending a same-sex “wedding” is just as acceptable as a Catholic attending a Jewish wedding. He blasted nearly everyone who opposes same-sex “marriage” as “homophobic” and repeated his mantra that his critics are just secretly gay. He also suggested that opposing same-sex “marriage” is like opposing interracial marriage and that African Catholics are one of the biggest obstacles to Church acceptance of homosexuality.

Get OVER It: California School Board Enacts Horrendous Policy, Telling Parents To Shut Up

Recently, a California school was thrust into a storm of controversy when a Rocklin Academy transgender student brought the book “I Am Jazz” to school. The firestorm erupted after the teacher read the book to kindergartners without their parent’s permission. Many of the five-year-old’s were traumatized over the information and went home in tears.

As outrage spread among parents, school administrators convened an official meeting not to quell their concerns, but to turn up the heat and tell them flat out: the horrendous transgender-loving policy is here to stay.

On Monday the board voted to keep its current literature policies in place, which means that students will be exposed to the leftist agenda by teachers and other staff.

The meeting was filled with upset parents and a few transgender supporters who did not have students in the school, nor did they live there, armed with signs supporting the deviant lifestyle.

Transgenderism is a theory. And, it’s one that leading psychiatrists in the field say is not scientific, but a mental aberration much like anorexia.

This June, Dr. Paul R. McHugh, the former psychiatrist-in-chief for Johns Hopkins Hospital and its current Distinguished Service Professor of Psychiatry, explained that transgenderism is a “mental disorder.” People who suffer from it merit treatment, he asserted. After decades of study he also explained that sex change is “biologically impossible,” and that people who promote sexual reassignment surgery are promoting a mental disorder.

He also blasted so-called guidance counselors for promoting the idea among pre-adolescent kids, calling such action “child abuse.” He cited detailed research that shows 80 percent of children who experience gender dysphoria symptoms grow out of them by the time puberty takes place.

However, a vast number of liberal educators seek to treat the illness like it’s normal. They support a 5-year-old taking life-altering drugs before the child can know his own mind. Many “transitioning” medicines result in sterility, making it a ‘no turning back’ type of commitment.

An apt comparison would be allowing a child to operate heavy equipment or own a firearm. These children simply do not have the maturity to make this sort of decision, yet progressive doctors and educators around the country continue to support the practice. And, they try to infect normal kids with the idea.

The fact remains that the education system is actively working to bring about a major societal shift, and with the help of the leftist media, it is working.

  153. Top unis admit China influence, Go8 fears backlash The Oz.

A conundrum for our top universities. The cash from China is very tempting. To keep it flowing unis need to remove “offensive teaching material” and to ignore intelligence gathering on students.

When in doubt, follow the money.

Castro Lube: teh Yes campaign just went full retard…

The etymology discussions about Astro Labe have correctly noted the labia and lubricant implications but have not mentioned a brand name that may be a close starting point: ‘Astroglide’ is very popular for an activity traditionally believed to be more popular in Kings Cross than in Dubbo.

If the Yes campaign really wanted to make the point that all sexual relationships are equal, surely the best thing to do would be to get some high-profile gays to come and make the point for them.

That kind of star power would win the Australian people over.

Stars like Peter Allen. And Freddie Mercury. And Rock Hudson. And Liberace. And Tom Waddell, who founded the gay Olympics.

Where are these stars and why won’t they speak out?

  156. Chris

Harsh, alex. I was earlier thinking of people like Bryce Courtenay’s son killed by contamination of the donor blood, and wives killed by husbands bringing HIV home.

So what happened to super hard arse, “Always Escalate!”, JC of old, who advocated helping people to suicide?
You were very up front about all that hardarsery back then, when you also joined in with cats mocking Anti-Abortion cats who have survived car bombings and other attempts on their lives.
Oh how you laughed and laughed.
    So, Why So Serious, now?
Anything to do with any of that herd of big shitting elephants camped out in your cathouse?

srr, JC went to a Cat gathering and realised that the people he was angry at were, in fact, rational and likable humans. He has been far less abrasive since then.
You could do the same, you know.

  159. Are you calling people who, most likely, have the same complexion as you ‘nasty pasties’?

Geez nota, now you are stretching. I thought the concept of the nasty pastie was related to the pastry-wrapped food, not a reference to skin colour.

    Hendo:
Labor faithful never waver in their affection for Lionel Murphy

Despite the release of the Murphy files last week, former NSW Liberal Party premier Robert Askin (1907-81) continues to hold the reputation of the most corrupt figure in Australian public life. And former Labor Party politician and High Court judge Lionel Murphy (1922-86) continues to have an influential fan club, especially on the left.

Stephen Walmsley’s The Trials of Justice Murphy (LexisNexis Butterworths) was published last year. It contains a thoughtful foreword by High Court judge Virginia Bell. Walmsley, a retired NSW District Court judge, has assessed the case against Murphy as if he were summarising evidence for consideration by a jury. Even so, the book indicates that Walmsley believes Murphy’s guilt is established beyond reasonable doubt.

When he was attorney-general in Gough Whitlam’s Labor government in early 1975, Murphy was appointed to the High Court.

In late 1984 he was charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice by improperly interfering in a case, in the NSW jurisdiction, against his friend Morgan Ryan. Murphy was acquitted on one charge and convicted on another, but subsequently acquitted on the second charge.

Murphy, who had stood down from the High Court, then proposed to return to the bench. However, because of concern about his fitness to sit on the High Court, the Labor government led by Bob Hawke set up a parliamentary commission of inquiry, presided over by three retired judges, to assess Murphy’s suitability to be a judge.

In July 1986 it was revealed that Murphy had terminal cancer and the inquiry was halted. Murphy returned briefly to the High Court and died in August 1986. The papers of the parliamentary inquiry were not released until last week due to a 30-year embargo.

The principal witnesses for the prosecution in Murphy’s trials were then NSW chief magistrate Clarrie Briese and then NSW District Court judge Paul Flannery. Both fine men experienced the hostility of some of their peers for stating what they felt to be the truth. However, their reputations have been enhanced following the publication of Walmsley’s book.

On the other hand, the former High Court judge’s reputation has not been enhanced following the release of the Murphy files.

The parliamentary inquiry put 15 allegations to Murphy involving bribery, association with criminals, giving false testimony, interference in the course of justice and so on. Yet Murphy remains a hero to his fan club.

Appearing on ABC’s 7.30 on September 14, former High Court judge Michael Kirby said Murphy “was a great defender of the rights of those who the law sometimes forgot”.

And Guy Rundle, Crikey’s writer-at-large, also declared the judge was a “fighter for rights”.

This overlooks the controversial and improper raid that Murphy, when attorney-general in March 1973, conducted on the Melbourne office of ASIO. As documented by John Blaxland in The Protest Years: The Official History of ASIO: 1963-1975, Murphy demanded that all ASIO staff go to the auditorium, where they were held under effective house arrest for some hours and not even allowed to go to the toilet.

Needless to say, many members of the staff were traumatised.

The raid was motivated by Murphy’s belief that ASIO was attempting to protect Australia’s primarily anti-communist and Catholic Croatian community — who he believed were planning terrorist attacks against Yugoslav government officials and property.

As Blaxland makes clear, Murphy did not understand the difference between ASIO (an intelligence-gathering entity) and the Commonwealth Police (a law enforcement agency).

In any event, ASIO was not involved in a cover-up of what Murphy alleged was Croatian extremism in Australia.

At the time, Murphy lied to parliament about ASIO’s response to the raid. These were not the acts of a man committed to human rights but those of a bully and a liar.

Despite all his faults as a minister and a judge, Murphy is destined to remain one of the Labor Party’s secular saints much admired by many a Labor lawyer. However, it’s fair to acknowledge that he does have some critics on the left.

Askin, on the other hand, is all but friendless. And likely to remain so — despite a reassessment by Michael Duffy and Nick Hordern in their book Sydney Noir: The Golden Years (NewSouth, 2017). Askin’s reputation was irreparably tarnished almost before his corpse was cold.

On September 13, 1981, shortly after Askin died, The National Times (editor: David Marr) published an article titled “Askin: Friend to organised crime”. The front-page story alleged that, while he was NSW premier between 1965 and 1975, Askin had received large bribes from illegal casino operators and more besides.

The story also alleged, falsely, that organised crime became institutionalised in NSW on a large scale under Askin’s watch.

It appears that, like many journalists, the writer was into bias confirmation. That is, they believe what they want to believe.

The National Times produced no evidence for its story and named no sources. A review commissioned by The Sun-Herald (a Fairfax Media stablemate) in 1993 and conducted by former NSW coroner Kevin Waller found that many of the allegations against Askin turned on “remote hearsay” and “unnamed persons”.

Duffy and Hordern report that the story’s writer told a PhD candidate, Paul Loughnan, in 2015 that the source for the National Times allegation against Askin was Perce Galea, a Sydney crook who died in 1977. Which raises the question of whether that was all that the writer had.

Moreover, why would anyone automatically believe anything Galea said? The story’s writer declined to speak to the authors of Sydney Noir.

Before Sydney Noir, such commentators as Geoffrey Reading, Norman Abjorensen and Bob Bottom had drawn attention to the fact that there is no evidence that Askin was a criminal.

But in the aftermath of Askin’s death, such Liberal Party leaders as Malcolm Fraser and Nick Greiner did not defend him.

Like all of us, Askin was a flawed individual. But there is no evidence that he took bribes from the criminal world.

The lesson is that the left is better than political conservatives at defending its own, however weak the case.

The sound of thwacks. Oh well, it’s Sunday now so he’ll be at work for the next 36 hours and that’s the last of that repulsive drooling cretin for the weekend.

Literally EVERYONE mOron knows spent the day out there promoting the story that A666 was lying. Then Astro Lane (if that IS his real name) was arrested and confessed to the whole meeja. Thwack!

“Culture wars” like porridge were lost years ago? We had that Wong chap defending traditional porridge! And as recently as 5 years ago, Gillard went down in history as the last sitting PM to vote against SSM. Thats the best part of SSM (assuming the violence and bigotry haven’t cost themselves the unloseable, but even if they have). That’s her legacy. She stood for one thing – progressivist extremism. And her dismal term brought soaring unemployment, a failed carbon tax, and a personal vote against SSM.
