The Trump effect

A perusal of mostly Drudge at the moment brings to mind what a difference it has made that Donald Trump is now president rather than the pathetic Hillary or the incompetent buffoon who was there before.

Being the weekend, there’s nothing on the economy, but the economy is also doing well. People who vote Democrat are wilfully ignorant, hypocritical beyond redemption and a massive danger not just to normal people but ultimately to themselves as well.

This is one of the best things Trump has done. Simply by being himself he’s outraged the vast horde of lefty journo-school graduates so much that they’re saying and doing stuff which they’ve never dared to do before. We are seeing the insides of their souls and it ain’t pretty.

So far the network executives are allowing this. Probably because they are of similar mind, having come through the same system.

What is happening to all of them though is brutal reality as viewership collapses and revenues do likewise. The owners are going to have to reign their guys in. Or sack them, which seems the most likely outcome since they aren’t going to change and their salaries are increasingly unaffordable.

A crisis in the MSM caused by Trump will be most entertaining. Much more entertaining that all that lefty sludge they produce.

On the economy, FakeNews is pushing the -33000 jerbs under #JobsReport. Apparently ended Obama’s 78 month streak of positives. To do with T666’s policies apparently. Nothing at all to do with hurricanes. Expect more of the same when Q3 GDP is published.

For years the journalism / entertainment media community had convinced themselves that while the average man in the street was incredibly stupid, he did basically agree with what he was being told. They cannot get their head around people hating on them, because after all they are obviously superior in every possible way.

It’s a bit like politicians when they enact appalling policy and then someone asks them, “How about your policy, wasn’t that just awful?” they always come back with, “We need to explain this better.”

No buddy, there’s no problem with how you explained it… there’s a problem with what you are doing.

  4. Uh oh

You can add to that list “Pence walks after players take knee”. These footballers certainly know how to lead with their chins.

  5. RobK

Trump is having to tackle the rot on all fronts at once, it’s no small task.
Hopefully the results will last to form a sound base for renewed progress and prosperity.

  6. In a switch, GOP deserts its budget-cutting mantra

Yeah, so much for fiscal rectitude. Deficits don’t matter when Republicans are in power.

I seem to recall the last President of the United States ran up government debt greater than all the previous Presidents of the United States did in total. I wonder who he was and what party he represented?

As to RINOs you can understand why they aren’t great with money. It’s the mass of horn between their eyes which gets in the way of intelligent thought.

  8. Shine a Light

Can someone clear this up this mess for me.
I was under the impression that according to hollywood feminists the only misoginists in the world were white and not of the left.
Can you imagine the shock, when a big hollywood mogol who is also a big backer of the democrats has a record with women which might outdo hilarious Hillary’s Bill.
I thought thought that voting for the left in the past might mean I was half misogenistic, half racist, half homophobic.
Now I dont know where I stand.

  9. Bruce, it took a lot to save the economy from the Dubbya disaster. Obama’s only other option was to allow the next Great Depression. Do you think he should have done nothing?

Yet the media narrative is either about how much it cost for him to be there or how it was staged as a stunt. Avoiding the obvious issues is media 101.

After the first few weeks, yep.
You should pay attention to what I write about the GFC response here on the Cat.
After a bit of a cash splash to prevent panic – a month max – then stop.
Obama would have done ‘way better to ditch Obamacare, ditch crazy environmental restrictions and free up businesses. Instead he raped SMEs with the Obamacare requirements of 50 employees/30 hrs per week which not only stagnated business instead of growing them but also forced a cut of hours to working people just when he was also forcing them to take out ridiculously expensive health insurance.
Keynesians would shake their heads sadly at such senseless demand destruction.

    This won’t happen.
Lefties do not look at themselves critically.
This is how their rampant hypocrisy comes about.
The shows will go under, their media will die and it will all be blamed on Trump.

You really are a miserable little turd; Bush’s mess was slick willies fanny mae and Freddie mac brain fart whereby everyone could have a house and then slick willies (and turdballs) mates got into the derivative stage of proceedings. Bush couldn’t get the US’s oil and fuel self-reliance going as Trump has done because the security forces had fucked up with 9/11 and he was justifiably preoccupied.

Right Bruce, so you would have wanted Obama to watch as the automotive industry died, plus a number of banks, not to mention tens of thousands of Americans whose lives have been saved by Obamacare.

No politician is going to wear those decisions.

  15. Bruce of Newcastle

M0nty – The US auto industry will not die in a GFC situation. It may change ownership somewhat. You will note how the car makers are falling over themselves to manufacture cars in the US now that Trump has gently suggested what the alternative might be.

The banks were handled quite well by the Fed. Fannie and Freddie were effectively nationalised. Pity they haven’t been liquidated but the problem has been fixed, at least until they blow up again like last time due to socialist banking policies.

The unquantified number of people saved by Obamacare would have been saved by private health insurance or by Medicare. If Obama wanted to help those people falling between the cracks he should have done so directly instead of emasculating SMEs by unaffordable insurance rules, and by emasculating the middle class through lower work hours and high mandatory health insurance.

I suspect a lot of people are unnecessarily dying now, because the stratospheric deductibles in the only policies they can afford means they can’t afford to go to the doctor or hospital for anything short of a life threatening emergency. So they go in with stage 4 cancer instead of stage 1. Articles I’ve read suggest this is indeed the case.

And premiums for 2018 are set to skyrocket:

On the premium front, the early signs for 2018 are alarming. Those obtaining individual insurance via Obamacare in Florida are looking at an average premium hike of 45 percent. In neighboring Georgia, the state has approved increases of more than 50 percent based on the assumption that insurers cannot rely on getting those CSR reimbursements. Utah’s looking at a 39 percent average increase in premiums

    Working real well, innit?

The US GFC recovery was the slowest of all recoveries except perhaps that after the Great Depression. Socialist policies created both slow recoveries. They didn’t have to.

At least FDR had the excuse of ignorance. Obama did not. That is why Obama is the worst President the US has ever had.

    So much avoidable misery.

  16. Jef

Yes in my mind Obama is the worst President in the history of the US. I certainly hope the American people are not stupid to vote for another like him in future .And we also see the worst “First Lady” in “Michael Obama” to go along with that title !
