Are you implying the Muslims don’t deserve to take the fall?

I’m saying that Government caused the problems intentionally, by bringing low IQ people from alien cultures here, and citing native racism as the reason for all problems encountered.
Blame the butcher, not the block.

Muslims are a problem where-ever they are. In a perverse way bringing the scourge here will, maybe, wake up the punters. The bastards who brought them here will never wake up.

I’m saying that Government decision makers aren’t stupid. If they make a decision that later has negative consequences, giving them the benefit of the doubt isn’t realistic or productive.
The only way different people can live side by side is in a ferocious dictatorship- think Saddam Hussein.
Judging by recent events, that’s the plan here.

  9. How many slaves does it take to keep up cutting sugar cane compared to one cane harvester?

They don’t say it anymore because they know it’s the dumbest economic “theory” in history.

The “Labour Theory of Value” is the cornerstone of Marxism, yet technology progressively proves it far more silly than can ever be imagined. It basically claims that , economically, a bunch of blokes digging a hole with their bare hands is exactly the same, value-wise, as some guy digging an equivalent hole with a back-hoe and being in the pub before lunch while the other idiots take a week to dig the same, smokos permitting.

Anyone who believes in marxism may as well believe in unicorn productivity and Labor caring for the wukkas.

    Oh, wait…

The punters are deaf and dumb. No trumpet of Gabriel is loud enough to wake them up.

The countries in Europe who oppose this invasion are not very powerful, no wonder they are making subtle overtures to Russia, as a potential ally.

Awkward situation as most are members of NATO, and the USA is arming Romania and the Ukraine to the hilt.

I know of another vantage point not sure if much security. Won’t say where.

There are lots of hidden vantage points on the hills above where we live, and in many other places around Sydney harbor. Your choice depends on how far away you are prepared to be from the bridge, how wide you want your angle of vision to be, and how far you are prepared to walk if you don’t live in the cordoned off local area and need to park your car. The police security requirement for the Longueville church is ridiculous; there are many other such gathering places around the harbor and by no means are all of them ‘secured’. As noted above, a couple of well-placed trucks would solve any perceived problem; after that, with stabby backpacking Moozlies maybe springing up next to you, you simply take your chances, wherever you are.

We hit the Stollen bread and custard again tonight; now I know how junkies feel when despite their best intentions they give in to irresistible temptation. We ate it (fancy British rellies of Hairy’s always pronounce that ‘ett’), chasing it down with a Marlborough desert Riesling, very sweet and yet still crisp, that we purchased from the vineyard in NZ a couple of weeks back. It’s still Christmas around here, till New Year anyway.

A raid that destroyed all border crossing checkpoints and enabled mass infiltration of military age males dedicated to the overhtrow of the racist Nazi government.

We’ve only scratched the surface, Robber Baron. The husband qualifies for DSP. #1 wife qualifies for Carer’s Pension to look after him. They qualify for public housing. The other three wives qualify for SPB, but also for public housing, each in their own right. In reality they all live in the one house, leaving three subsidised public houses which can be sublet. This is how they grow their ghettos.

#1 wife stays home and looks after the kids – the ones who are not already in school. The other three wives actually attend courses on hunting, gathering and foraging – at places like St Vinnies and the Salvos. They learn how to furnish a home, dress themselves and the kids, and collect vouchers for everything from food to electricity bills, from charitable organisations.

Must have been getting some bad results from the focus groups:

Victoria Police and the Andrews government have declared they are not afraid to call out high crime rates among African youth after a spate of violent incidents highlighted the ongoing problem and prompted renewed commitments to working with the community.

Acting chief commissioner Shane Patton yesterday distanced himself from a local superintendent who downplayed the issue after a violent attack on a sergeant who was trying to arrest an African boy accused of shoplifting.

“The leaders in the African community readily and openly say they do have issues with a small cohort of African youth who are committing high-end crimes,” Mr Patton said.

“We acknowledge that, we don’t shy away from that at all. We will target anyone who’s involved in any criminal activity and if that’s African youths, so be it.”

Mr Patton said although only one arrest had been made, police were still pursuing other offenders among the group of more than 100 mainly South Sudanese youths who trashed a Werribee Airbnb-rented property last week and then pelted officers with rocks.

The house was spraypainted with youth-gang symbols, including a reference to the notorious Apex crime game responsible for a spate of home invasions and car thefts in the southeast suburbs. Police are also searching for a youth of African appearance who kicked an officer in the face outside Highpoint Shopping Centre on Boxing Day while another youth was being arrested for shoplifting.

While discussing the incident this week, Superintendent Therese Fitzgerald rejected suggestions of a crime problem among African youths, saying the problem was “youth crime in general”.

Police Minister Lisa Neville yesterday confirmed African-born young men were overrepresented in crime statistics and were causing “great harm and fear in the community”.

“I am not trying to cover this up,” Ms Neville said. “It has been of significant concern to us and to Victoria Police.

“We’ve had additional investment in the gang squad (and) in intelligence measures in order to try and disrupt their behaviour.”

Ms Neville also pointed to the Monitoring and Assessment Centre, which was established in the wake of last year’s Moomba riots in which dozens of youths — some of them linked to the Apex gang — ran through Federation Square and Swanston Street brawling and wielding chairs as weapons. Officers at the centre use CCTV footage and social media data to keep check on gangs coming into the city centre.

South Sudanese youth leaders have called for authorities to do more to help African teens integrate.

Figures from the Crime Statistics Agency show Sudanese and South Sudanese people were 6.135 times more likely to have been arrested last year than offenders born in Australia and 4.8 times more likely than those born in New Zealand.

Separate reports have tracked dramatic increases in aggravated burglaries, serious assaults and car thefts committed by Sudanese-born youth between 2014 and 2017.

According to data obtained by Coalition MP Jason Wood, Sudanese-born offenders are the second most represented ethnic group behind Australians when it comes to aggravated burglaries, car thefts, and sexual offences in the 10-to-18 age group.

    JC,
In the interests of honest posting could you enlighten us as to when they were threatened with banning. Was it individually or a group warning ? There was a post by Sinclair a few nights back but my reading of the posts that night suggested you were also covered by the warning of a banning. If there was another I missed please oblige by correcting me as you are the keeper of records here. Such posts by Sinc are rare so you should have no problem finding them.

However to have you posting telling people not to make shit up is hilarious. You appear to be making shit up in your comments below. Failure to provide the relevant warning(s) you refer to will confirm this.

A commenter warned both these dishonest faggots to stop lying about me and if they continued he would email Sinclair. They ignored his request and continued to lie. Consequently the commenter must have emailed Sinclair.
I fail to see how I, being the person being lied about , would be threatened with a ban. If you require further confirmation, email the blog owner and fuck right off.

  57. BrettW

    JC,
You really are full of crap but then again I have known that for quite a while.

How would you know the commenter emailed or not and any subsequent warning of banning ? Did he let you know directly ? You say “he must have emailed Sinclair”. Are you trying to imply that Sinclair then reported the personal emails between him and those complained about to you ? Even more interesting is that you have a follower so concerned about you that he would intervene on your behalf. Hilarious that a big boy like you needs this other commenter’s and Sinc’s support when it is you who are the main instigator of most arguments on this forum.

You are full of it. If we are to believe you story then it is again proof that you can dish it out but can’t handle it when people have a go back at you. You are constantly lying and twisting things and it ironic that your mate, whoever he is, felt you needed “protection” from the blog owner against two of the people you pick fights with most often. Does Sinc have to intervene regularly on your behalf when you have stirred things up a bit too much ? Oh come on, tell us the truth for a change.

I have called you a liar quite a few times but strangely in my years on this forum have never had an email from Sinclair.

  58. JC

    Rooster

I’m not full of crap. You are, as usual. As I said, if you have any doubts that the threat wasn’t posted against those two dickheads who were slandering me and that in fact it was directed to all three then go ask the blog owner.

Their lying was so blatantly dishonest it even got the other commenter roused up.

You make this ridiculous assertion- that no reasonable person would credit,-so now go prove it or fuck off. It’s easy!

And stop babbling. What you said in that long-winded missive could be said a a few short sentences.

Trump’s approval rating reaches 46 percent with 53 percent disapproving at year’s end. Same result as Obama at end of first year. Ninety nine point nine percent of Australians would be staggered at this result, but they’re highly unlikely to ever hear of it.

  61. Tom

Well, well, well. Australia’s leftard Uniparty Trumble government is doing exactly what Obama was doing until he left office this year: flooding the country with immigrants – up 27% in Australia in 2016-17 compared with the previous year, while Obama has nearly doubled US immigration in the current decade:

Pew: Trump media three times more negative than for Obama, just 5 percent positive

The media story reviewed the tone of coverage of Trump’s first 60 days in office and found that just 5 percent was “positive.”

By comparison, Obama’s coverage was 42 percent positive.

The relentless pounding from the MSM is probably the only reason why Trump is below 50%.

  63. 132andBush

    Bruce,
I’m amazed it was as high as 5%!!
I’d say closer to 100% negative over here and over there any positive coverage was so little as to be barely distinguishable.

These are just some of the LGBTI causes raised as priorities by Australian community leaders and activists keen to keep the ball rolling after the passage of marriage equality legislation.
Brown, the director of advocacy at the Human Rights Law Centre, is on a mission to remove “every last stain of discrimination” from the statute books.
Another international project, mentioned by Brown, is the treatment of LGBTI asylum seekers, particularly pressing given that Australia sends gay male asylum seekers to Papua New Guinea, which has criminal laws against homosexuality.

    h/t Douglas Adams

None. Although you might see people from time to time, they are most likely products of your imagination. Simple mathematics tells us that the population of the Universe must be zero. Why? Well given that the volume of the universe is infinite there must be an infinite number of worlds. But not all of them are populated; therefore only a finite number are. Any finite number divided by infinity is as close to zero as makes no odds, therefore we can round the average population of the Universe to zero, and so the total population must be zero.

Merrimack College is a private college in the Roman Catholic, Augustinian tradition located in North Andover, Massachusetts. It offers more than 100 undergraduate academic programs in business, education, science, engineering, and the liberal arts. Wikipedia

The Irish Augustinians came to Philadelphia in the United States in 1796. A small number of Augustinian friars eventually became the Province of St. Thomas of Villanova and in 1842, the Province established Villanova College near Philadelphia. The same Province established Merrimack College in 1947 in North Andover, Massachusetts at the invitation of Richard Cushing, then Archbishop of Boston, to serve the needs of servicemen returning home from World War II.

THE driver who ploughed into a Home And Away star and her family was a serial traffic offender and known drug user.

The Daily Telegraph can reveal that Craig Anthony Whitall, 50, who also died in the inferno on Boxing Day, had been jailed for driving while disqualified and was driving on P-plates having only recently got his licence back.

Witnesses have told police that they saw Mr Whitall’s white Toyota Prado drifting onto the opposite side of the Princes Hwy at least twice shortly before it smashed into the Falkholt family’s Mazda head-on near Sussex Inlet.

    Marriage and multiple relationships

Australian law recognises both marriages and de facto relationships. While bigamy is a criminal offence (under section 94 of the Marriage Act 1961), it is not an offence to have multiple simultaneous de facto relationships. As noted in the various media reports on this issue, the polygamous ‘Islamic marriages’ described are not legal marriages but informal religious unions. Such ‘marriages’ would not be recognised as legal marriage under Australian law but the relationships between the different partners may be recognised as de facto relationships.

Muslims don’t even have to lie about their multiple relationships.

Fairfax County thief caught with help of lost shoe, police say

    POSTED: DEC 28 2017 08:43AM EST

SPRINGFIELD, Va. – A thief was caught in Fairfax County after police said they were able to match a lost shoe to him on Tuesday.

Fairfax County police said the suspect, identified as 33-year-old Samuel Bucey of the District, was caught breaking into a man’s truck in the parking lot of TownePlace Suites on Brandon Avenue in Springfield at about 9:20 p.m.

While Bucey was fleeing the scene he lost a shoe, according to police.

Authorities said an officer spotted Bucey wearing one shoe and riding a bicycle. The officer was able to match the shoe left behind at the scene to the one Bucey was wearing, police said.

Bucey was taken into custody for destruction of property, grand larceny and possession of a firearm by a non-violent felon.

‘Why?’: Swedish police appeal for public help to solve death of Australian

Kai Foley, believed to be 28 years old, from Melbourne, was found in the early hours of the morning last Wednesday in Odinsplatsen, close to the city’s central train station.

Police were not alerted to the crime, but rather came across the man during their rounds at 4:50am.

Foley was already essentially unconscious and in “very bad condition” upon discovery and died soon after being taken to hospital, police told Fairfax Media. He had severe spinal and abdominal injuries.

    Speaking of Bono (spit)
The Frontman: Bono (In the Name of Power)

Celebrity philanthropy comes in many guises, but no single figure better encapsulates its delusions, pretensions and wrongheadedness than U2’s iconic frontman, Bono – a fact neither sunglasses nor leather pants can hide. More than a mere philanthropist – indeed, he lags behind many of his peers when it comes to parting with his own money – Bono is better described as an advocate, one who has become an unwitting symbol of a complacent wealthy Western elite. The Frontman reveals how Bono moved his investments to Amsterdam to avoid Irish taxes; his paternalistic and often bullying advocacy of neoliberal solutions in Africa; his multinational business interests; and his hobnobbing with Paul Wolfowitz and shock-doctrine economist Jeffrey Sachs. Carefully dissecting the rhetoric and actions of Bono the political operator, The Frontman shows him to be an ambassador for imperial exploitation, a man who has turned his attention to a world of savage injustice, inequality and exploitation and helped make it worse.

Who do Bono and the ONE campaign really represent: the very poor or the very rich?

There is a well-known if dubious story which claims that at a concert in Glasgow Bono began a slow hand-clap. He is supposed to have announced: “every time I clap my hands, a child in Africa dies”. Whereupon someone in the audience shouted “well fvcking stop doing it then.” It’s good advice, and I wish he’d take it.

“Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.”

    From the linked article:

In the wake of President Donald Trump’s executive order on immigration Friday, many critics quickly took up a familiar rallying cry, lifting words from the Statue of Liberty that have for decades represented American immigration: “Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.”

Can you imagine the range angst in that thing? You’ve got a 200km journey, you’re towing something heavy, it’s a hot day so you’ll want the air-con on. No problem with a full charge, right? You start out with, say, 500km on estimated range limit clock, which starts falling by 3km for every 1km you travel…air-con and radio are quickly off, you’re thanking your lucky stars you didn’t decide to make it a night journey, your mind is wandering ahead of you, worrying about every incline in front of you and feeling relief for every decline…what a load of junk. Seriously, who would want this as their transport? It just sounds terrible, awful.

I remember once when I was young and I ran the petrol too low (in my first car, a sweet little 1976 Toyota Corolla hand-me-down with a broken fuel gauge), I first felt the telltale signs of fuel starvation when I mashed the accelerator a bit far. As I continued along hoping I’d make it to the servo, I remember being intimately aware of the distance I could push the accelerator before the engine started to sputter, and how that distance was shrinking and shrinking and shrinking…finally rolled into the servo. Just made it. Imagine having that all the bloody time?

If I’m expected to drop a six figure sum for a car, I don’t think I should ever have to decide not to turn on the climate control, or use high beam, or listen to the damn radio because I’m worried I won’t make it to where I’m going without an hours’ long stop to refuel.

—As for throwing the corpses of the prisoners into the sea…
—I think it could have happened. (…) Throwing them into the crater of a volcano would be better… (…) Who’d go looking for them in a volcano? Nobody.
—On the day you die… what would your epitaph say? “Here lies the hangman, the torturer, the murderer…”

—Logical, logical. I accept that. But for me it was a positive thing. (…) I am at peace with my conscience and my beliefs.

  119. Also, for the record, last night commenter Robber Baron posted realistic figures on what a Muslim man and his four “wives” could realistically collect on our welfare system. I happen to agree with Robber Baron’s assertions. However, I pointed out he had left off payment for the children, via Family Tax Benefits A and B.

At that point our resident, self-appointed Blog God (aka shit4brains- S4B), waded in, claiming I was wrong. Apparently, according to Blog God aka S4B, Muslims would never, ever, contort the truth of their relationships in order to maximise their welfare benefits. Who knew? Also, apparently, at least according to Blog God aka S4B’s logic, spare Muslim wives come stamped on the forehead with the name and address of their Muslim husbands, for ease of identification as such by Centrelink.

Putting aside differences of opinion regarding Muslims’ propensity for telling the truth when applying for welfare, the point completely missed by Blog God aka S4B is that it wouldn’t matter what benefit the “wives” were on – DSP, SPB, OAP, Newstart, Sickness Benefits, or Carer’s Pension, they would STILL qualify for, and be paid Family Tax Benefit A and B, as detailed by me originally.

  122. Top Ender

The entire commonwealth government payroll — army, navy, public service in Canberra, Australia Post, Reserve Bank, you name it — cost just less than $21.1 billion last year. Meanwhile, the government spent a further $9.7bn on consultants, labourhire companies and items such as leases — enough to pay once over again almost half of those 239,800 employees that the ABS estimates rely on the federal government for their earnings.

That’s incredible. What the Finance Minister says is “appropriate” spending, intended to “keep the cost of commonwealth administration low, flexible and efficient”, is 46 per cent of the cost of all public spending on wages and salaries. That’s some price for flexibility! Perhaps the target of the royal commission should have been the efficiency of government spending on third parties, rather than banking. Critics say cuts to the core public sector are to blame, which seems partly right. The Australian Taxation Office, for example, increased spending on labour-hire firms by $154 million to $331m over the two years to 2017 — roughly offsetting its 1170 reduction in headcount (to 17,900) over the same period.

The problem isn’t the increase. The core federal public service has fallen only 9 per cent to 153,000 since it peaked in 2013. That fall can’t explain the $2.6bn spent on management advisory services, the $498m on planning and $750m on temporary staff included in the headline total.

The problem is excessive use of consultants full stop, which damages morale in public-sector agencies. What are the 2061 staff in the Prime Minister’s Department there for if not to advise? The 6512 staff in the departments of health and education don’t run schools or hospitals. Whatever the cause of the consultant and temporary worker surge, government must be more transparent about why and what is being spent on whom. The figures revealed today aren’t timely, clear or granular enough.

Spending has reached such a height that statistics on the size of the bureaucracy are becoming meaningless. Even if the average spent on this phantom public sector were $250,000 per person, that’s the equivalent of another 38,800 people in effect working for the federal government. Economic rather than legal status is a better guide to the nature of work and employment.

A PAIR of champion male racehorses shared a romance worthy of any Shakespearean tragedy before fate tore them apart, their trainer has revealed.

Star-crossed stallions Simonsig and Triolo D’Alene — who both ran in the Grand National — were even shunned by other horses after falling in love, much like the doomed pair Romeo and Juliet.

They were both trained by Nicky Henderson at Lambourn, Berks, and first hooked up while summering at Hillwood Stud.

As geldings, they were unable to consummate their relationship — which was cruelly cut short when Simonsig passed away following a fall during a race last November.

What is the official policy and is it enforced if it nominally forbids mozzies from piling on?

    From the previous link this:

    Marriage and multiple relationships

Australian law recognises both marriages and de facto relationships. While bigamy is a criminal offence (under section 94 of the Marriage Act 1961), it is not an offence to have multiple simultaneous de facto relationships. As noted in the various media reports on this issue, the polygamous ‘Islamic marriages’ described are not legal marriages but informal religious unions. Such ‘marriages’ would not be recognised as legal marriage under Australian law but the relationships between the different partners may be recognised as de facto relationships.

This seems to suggest a loophole big enough for even the biggest mozzie arse:

Honesty from an electric car engineer.

McLaren to build fully-electric supercar. British maker says batteries holding back production version.

McLaren has built a fully electric supercar, however, the production version is still some time off.

Speaking to British publication, Autocar, McLaren engineering design director Dan Parry-Williams said that the team had already built an EV mule, however, it was far too early to say when a production model would come. It confirms an exclusive report made early last year by Drive that McLaren would build and test an EV as a possible succssor to the P1.

“We’ve got a pure EV mule and part of the reason for that is to ask how we can deliver driver engagement in a fully electric world. But there’s still quite a journey from here to there in terms of our products,” Parry-Williams said.

The problem, said Parry-Williams, is that battery development for automotive applications has concentrated on increasing energy density and reducing weight, rather than increasing power density. It means an EV supercar with a range of approximately 500 kilometres – which would add considerable weight – would only last about half an hour when driven at full whack.

But that’s going to change, with McLaren announcing earlier this year that it was investing over $1.5 billion across the next six-years on 15 new models.

The engineer didn’t suggest when the British supercar maker would deliver a fully-electric vehicle, but we can expect a raft of hybrid-electric supercars underpinned by its Track22 plan that will see at least 50 per cent of McLaren’s 2022 range powered by hybrid drivetrains.

McLaren also said it’s evaluating a fully-electric prototype for its Ultimate Series supercar range which would most likely see it capable of racing from a standstill to 100km/h in under 3.0 seconds, while Tesla claims its new 10,000Nm roadster can do the same in under two.

McLarens latest supercar, the Senna, doesn’t feature a hybrid drivetrain and is powered exclusively by 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine producing 588kW of power and 800Nm of torque. But it’s possible we’ll see its future cars powered by electric motors and supplemented with small on-board generators.

“You can potentially manage (a flat battery) with a niche car. If you exhaust the battery but then have to do one recharging lap, that strikes me as being okay. But if you haven’t got an on-board generator (and) you’ve got a full EV, you haven’t got the luxury of doing that,” said Parry-Williams.

I’m coming in late to the discussion, although I’ve caught glimpses. With that in mind, something to think about.

    Parenting payment/newstart
    Family Tax Benefit A
    Family Tax Benefit B
    Rental Assistance
    Telephone Assistance
    Child Care Benefit
    Child Care Rebate
    And the rest.

I had a look at this a few years back, using Benbrika and his wife as an example.

We’re not factoring in the discounts for the “health care card” aka the Gold Card or jackpot, nor the products and services provided by charities, medical facilities, educational establishments.

Multiply by the number of wives, and bear in mind that years ago (around a decade) there was a segment on Today Tonight or ACA about a fellow on disability who had two wives pulling in welfare as single mothers (they were married per islam, but not per the government of Oz), both had houses, and one of the wives was a convert. Surprise.

He had no concern since the money’s available and he could take it. He’s in Australia, but he answered to allah, and taking it was a no-brainer for him. Why work when he doesn’t need to?

This piece stuck with me because I don’t usually watch those shows and I only saw it because I was over at a friend’s place. I told her she needed to watch it and pay attention, but she waved it off and said, “Oh, no, I’m not interested. It doesn’t affect me or my family.”

Ten years later and she’s concerned about shopping in Dandenong (“It’s changed so much, what happened?” I just smirk).

Note also that while a lot of our benefits are means-tested, it was the case where recognition as a “refugee” was not means-tested, nor was there a timeframe to get yourself on your feet and off welfare. That may have changed, but I doubt it.

Judge’s ruling paves way for Tampa Bay’s poor to move to better neighborhoods

WASHINGTON – A federal judge has ordered the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to implement an Obama-era rule on Jan. 1 that would give low-income families greater access to housing in more affluent neighborhoods…

Chief Judge Beryl A. Howell, appointed to the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia by President Barack Obama, ruled on Dec. 23 that HUD’s decision to delay implementing the rule was “arbitrary and capricious.” She said the agency failed to show sufficient reason for a pause, and that a delay would irreparably harm the plaintiffs: a Hartford, Connecticut, mother of five and a Chicago mother trying to move their families to safer suburban communities.

“This represents a new opportunity for tens of thousands of families with housing vouchers,” Tegeler said. “It’s about the right to choose where to live and the right not to be segregated. Good housing policy does not confine families to high poverty neighborhoods.”

Studies have shown that moving low-income families into wealthier neighborhoods results in better lives for their children, who are eventually more likely to attend college, earn more money, and reside in better neighborhoods as adults.

Robert Mugabe exits with mansion, staff, first-class travel

    Aislinn Laing
    The Times
    11:28AM December 29, 2017

Robert Mugabe has been given a lavish retirement package that includes first-class air travel, a multimillion-dollar mansion, private health insurance and numerous staff.

Zimbabwe’s ousted president will also have a fully staffed private office, bodyguards and chauffeur-driven cars likely to cost the impoverished country tens of thousands of dollars each year.

His wife, Grace, whose corruption and venality was blamed for bringing about the collapse of her 93-year-old husband’s career, will be allowed to keep most of the perks after he dies.

The terms of Mr Mugabe’s soft landing after 37 years in office were announced in the state-run newspaper The Herald. He was removed from power last month following a coup.

Yesterday the chief of the armed forces who led the military takeover was sworn in as deputy to President Mnangagwa. Constantine Chiwenga, 61, who retired from the military a week ago, swapped his fatigues for a black suit and pledged to discharge his duties “with all my strength and to the best of my knowledge and ability”.

Several senior military figures have been given prominent roles in cabinet, prompting dismay because Mr Mnangagwa had promised a clean sweep after Mr Mugabe’s long rule.

Critics said that Mr Mugabe’s retirement package was a further sign that nothing had changed, and that it would ultimately benefit Mr Mnangagwa too.

A good albeit technical discussion on the issue is here. It’s a 3 parter and deals with whether pressure/gravity can contribute to an atmospheric temperature profile [and create a lapse rate] or whether such profile is entirely to do with the radiative properties of ghgs; that is the greenhouse effect causes the temp profile and pressure/gravity contributes nothing.

Intelligence of Norwegians and Danes on the wane, say researchers

Intelligence levels have fallen in all Scandinavian countries, including Norway and Denmark, according to an analysis.
The study was conducted by James Flynn, a leading researcher of intelligence quotient (IQ) measurement, writes Norwegian news agency NTB.

IQ in the Scandinavian countries had been on the up for decades, but the trend has now been reversed, according to a report published by journal Intelligence.

Measures taken as part of the study have shown that, in Norway, fewer people are reaching higher levels of mathematical and linguistic ability.

The trend is similarly prominent in both Denmark and Norway and even more so in Finland.

“This signals without doubt a depletion of people with high cognitive abilities,” Flynn said according to NTB’s report.

The IQ of Norwegians had been increasing since 1950 until a turning point around 1995, writes the agency.

An annual reduction of IQ by 0.21 percent on average has been measured in Norwegians since that year, equivalent to a 6.5 percent decrease between generations.

But improvement of the quality of schooling has now stopped, he concluded.

“We have seen that work in schools is less demanding in many countries and that students spend less time studying and doing homework,” Flynn said to Swedish magazine Forskning & Framsteg, according to NTB’s report.

    Then we have this.

Almost 1.3 million have immigrated to Norway since 1990

Since 1990, 1,275,000 people have immigrated into Norway. [Norway’s population is only 5.3]
At the turn of the year, 73% of these immigrants still lived here.

Six out of ten in this group (789,000 people), come from countries outside the Nordic region. Of these, 36% were immigrants, 33% were immigrant workers, 20% were refugees, and 10% were students, showed figures released by Statistics Norway (SSB) on Monday.

In total, 157,000 refugees have lived in Norway since 1990. The number almost doubled between 2014 and 2016, largely due to the influx from Syria.

The largest refugee groups are from Somalia, Eritrea, Syria and Iraq. Six out of ten refugees who come to Norway are men, and two out of three refugees were under 30 when they arrived.

The largest groups of immigrants from countries outside the Nordic countries are from Poland, Lithuania,Germany, Somalia, and the Philippines.

Since 2011, labour immigration has fallen, but it remains significant, according to Statistics Norway.

It is clear that most are Polish labour immigrants, and the second largest group have come from Lithuania, but immigrant workers are less likely to live in Norway permanently than refugees, and families of immigrants.

At the turn of the year, one in six residents of Norway had immigrant backgrounds, and almost half had a background from Asia or Africa.

Favourite story was when he used to side-step the Unions which dominated US radio to go down Mexico and broadcast with stations there that broadcast with such power that they were popular listening in Canada in the summer months. From there he picked up some drug trafficking for handy cash, heaps of desperado narratives that he put straight to music, and the mariachi horns that accompanied “ring of Fire”.

Apparently Johnny Cash got on well personally with every President of either party he ever met, except for Clinton and Bush Jr. because of a personal distrust of both men. He was closest with Jimmy Carter, but he married into his family, so fair enough.

In these times, I think it would be most accurate to simply tag him as an “outsider” which he most certainly was, right throughout his career.

  214. Leaving aside that gelded horses are not “stallions,” the Telegraph says that were it not for their castration, the two would have “consummated” their “love.”

There is also another absurd side to this story and it’s the attempt to read the friendship between two gelded horses as a love affair. This also occurs with respect to any intimate human relationship where it is inevitably assumed to involve a sexual aspect. Think, for example, the relationship between Frodo and Samwise in LoTR. These people have a threadbare understanding of friendship.

    Scott Adams –

    The Demolition President.

But they keep leaving out all the stuff he broke that probably needed to be broken. I’ll fix that for you here.

GOP – Trump broke the GOP and reconstructed it along his terms, successfully it seems.

DNC – The DNC has no charismatic leader, no game plan, and little money.

    Clinton Dynasty – Done

    Bush Dynasty – Done

Mainstream Media – The public learned that news coverage is based on bias as much as fact.

NFL – Ratings down, attendance down.

If President Trump were a large piece of construction equipment, which one would he be?

FBI (leadership) – The FBI as a whole is still highly credible, but the leadership is not.

Pundits – Nearly all the pundits were wrong about Trump’s nomination, election, and successful (by Republican standards) first year.

Government Regulations – For good or bad, we have fewer regulations now.

Hollywood – Big stars are alienating 40% of their potential audience whenever they take time off from groping.

North Korea – They used to have a pathetic but functioning economy. That situation is changing rapidly.

ISIS – Remember ISIS? They used to be a big deal.

    TPP – Pulled out

Paris Climate Accord – Pulled out

Reality – I told you in 2015 that candidate Trump would change more than politics. I told you he would change the way we saw reality. Do you remember when you thought the news reported facts and that humans used those facts to make reasoned decisions? You probably don’t think that anymore.

I’m probably leaving out some stuff that got broken. It’s been a busy year.
