Japan to curb asylum seekers’ right to work from Monday
    Reuters Staff

TOKYO (Reuters) – Japan will limit asylum seekers’ right to work from Monday, making changes to its refugee system that are likely to swell the numbers of those in detention centers, the justice ministry said, prompting refugee groups to flag humanitarian concerns.

The move to tighten one of the developed world’s toughest refugee systems, which accepted just ten during the period from January to September last year, is a bid to clamp down on what Japan views as a system of back-door immigration.

We have built some interesting places over the years, but now in our twilightish times we are encountering weirdtape.

We have owned our beachside property, we have done nice reasonable things over 42yrs to make it into our habitable space, and now we wish to extend within our boundaries to accommodate our daughter above my husband’s art studio built in 1981.

Newcastle Council is trying to classify it as a granny flat, with all sorts of planning caveats plus a $10,000 upfront fee, while we are saying it is an extension of existing family space within the boundaries of our land.

We will win win, but how about unnecessary lawfare and the encroachment on private property rights that do not affect neighbours?

We will win win, but how about unnecessary lawfare and the encroachment on private property rights that do not affect neighbours?

Local government is an affront to property rights and must be forced to deal with what it was set up to deal with, road, rates and rubbish – the power it has incrementally appropriated to impinge upon property rights is obscene and the trend must be reversed.

My sister was building her modest home, the Council officers made it impossible to build the home she wanted to build. In the end she said to them, I can’t afford to build the house you want me to build. They absolutely made a dog’s breakfast of the joint, nice inside but their bloodymindedness was just appalling.

    From Michael Smith’s site.

Back of the envelope, it seems that Australia paid the Clinton crime family fifteen million dollars to run a Papua New Guinea program from New York.

Surprise, it seems that administration by the Clinton kleptocracy took 97% of the money, leaving 3% of Australias taxdollars to make it from Canberra through New York to PNG.

This it seems was the intention, not a flaw.

There might be another explanation besides paying a bribe to pay to play.

    Comrade Maaaate.

“This stuff didn’t happen on Ms Bishop’s watch and she could have noted there were deficiencies, we’ve learnt, we’ve fixed things up etc.

But she didn’t. She went out of her way to protect the Clintons.

It was all apparently hunky dory.

    Only we were lied to.

All was not hunky dory at all.

The biggest contract under the $25M MOU was the Clinton Foundation HIV/Aids Initiative PNG – all up we gave the Clintons about $15M between 2006 and 2009.

The CF was supposed to “complement” our funding by making its own contribution.

We put in $15M odd cash but according to the final report,

“CF has contributed paediatric ARVs, paediatric OI drugs, commodities for the Early Infant Diagnosis Program (e.g. reagents, equipment including PCR machine) totalling US$417,622 USD as of June 2009”.

That project was independently audited at a cost of about $100K – the audit report is here:

There is an article today in the Oz about the loss of control of the children of immigrants from Africa who are part of ruthless violent gangs. New immigrants hear nothing other than negative comments about our Australian society.

Furthermore when you get housing, and welfare i.e. something for nothing that’s what it’s worth. The fifth column comprising the Labor/Greens/Liberal Coalition, leftist academia, the mainstream media in general and the ABC and SBS in particular, former Prime Ministers, many well-heeled, famous and wealthy celebrities and ‘leading’ lights of the political/media/indigenous class have colluded to paint Australia and Australians as racists, homophobic, misogynist, cis-genderist trash.

Odd really given the average Australian is now most likely an immigrant or children of immigrants has not stopped this undeserved calumny. The fifth column claims we are unworthy or ineligible to have an opinion or a say on what we want our country to be and what we don’t like about what the divisive fifth column has done and that is: to relentlessly deride every tradition and custom the average Australian holds dear, from the commemoration for our fallen soldiers on ANZAC Day, to the celebration of Australia Day, Christmas and Easter right down to the flag and the colour of our skin.

The mainstream media and the policy say that those violent gangs are only a tiny minority yet it is a minority terrorising the suburbs of law-abiding, taxpaying citizens. Why can’t the same concession be made by the fifth column to the overwhelming majority of Australians who are not racist, homophobic, misogynist or cis-genderist?

Usually Council only becomes involved if works extend beyond the existing building line, including the roofline. Internal changes generally fly below the radar.

Are you putting a new storey on, min, or punching some dormer windows out of the roof? If a bathroom and kitchen already exist in the studio, then all you are doing is a loft.

AFGHANISTAN—Sergeant Bruce Larson, 28, was deployed to Afghanistan as part of a mechanized Army combat unit in the fall, after informing his superiors that he self-identified as an M1A1 Abrams tank.

Tragically, the man was killed in his first combat engagement over the weekend.

After being ordered to flank an enemy position, Larson crested a hill, making tank noises and yelling, “BOOM!” as he fired his imaginary 105mm gun at Taliban forces. Confused enemy soldiers watched him from a distance as he continued to lay down “suppressing fire” by making loud “pew pew pew” noises with his mouth, which he identifies as his .50-caliber secondary armament.

Finally, the bewildered Taliban forces shot at him, according to an Army debriefing. Sadly, although the man identified as the advanced modern combat vehicle, the bullets shot at him from an enemy combatant’s AK-47 did not agree with his perception of reality, and he tragically lost his life, according to sources.

The man was not buried but was scrapped for parts at a U.S. Army scrapyard, per his wishes. He is survived by his wife, who identifies as an F-22 Raptor.

At ABC Online, “doctor” who spent 17 years killing children remembers the good old days:

“Back in 2000 there were 25 to 30 surgical terminations a week and that’s slowly dropped due to the combined effects of contraception and managing it earlier,” he said.

Greens demand new government abortion mill:

Greens leader Cassy O’Connor is also calling on the Government to act.

“Tasmania now only has one private practitioner who can conduct surgical terminations, and only on a part-time basis,” Ms O’Connor said.

“The Hodgman Government needs to step in as a matter of priority, and move to ensure surgical terminations can be made available in public hospitals…

“We encourage the Liberals to do the right thing, and hope Health Minister Michael Ferguson’s well-known ideological opposition doesn’t get in the way.”

    ABC editorialises:

Doctors who oppose abortion are compelled to give women a list of willing practitioners.

Tasmania’s only abortion clinic closes, putting pressure on government to find alternative.

I was thinking of a “type”, Gez. I worked with someone who did some of the the stuff McLaughlan is accused of and all the fellows laughed (admittedly, some of them shamefaced) as he did it. No chance of complaining back then.

He always made sure the Manager was out of sight and hearing when he did it. And he had the Accountant on-side. It was horrible.

Lots of calls for better education, supervision, counselling, blah, blah,, blah but it looks like the perpetrators will just walk away scot-free and move on to their next target. Not much outrage, no calls for justice, just a lot of tut-tuting and we all move on.

Isn’t it odd how selectively blind, deaf and hypocritical Leftards are over sexual matters.

Leftards of decades standing, such as Harvey Wankstains, Kevin Spacey, Louis C.K., Ben Affleck, James Franco, Paul Haggis, Gene Simmons, Morgan Spurlock, Craig McLaughlin, Geoffrey Rush (though the latter seems more a matter of character assassination by a bunch of hissy-fitting Sydney thespian types) are (amongst many others) allegedly “outed” by hearsay, and all their formerly obsequious best pals for decades, are suddenly all over them like a bad case of genital herpes, having known about the ‘disgraceful’ behaviour for years.

Yet when Bonking Billy Clinton or Bonking Billy Short-One are each accused of sexual molestation or rape, it is the VICTIM who is vilified by the Left and whose story is ignored, while the alleged perpetrator is held up as an object worthy of admiration and of holding the highest office in the land.

In the case of Craig McLaughlin, it is a great pity that the middle-aged “Dr. Blake” seems never to have learned any lessons as a “Young Doctors” days which might otherwise have led him to keep his wandering “Frank-n-furter” to himself rather than allowing it to allegedly go rogue.

I’m now 4 episodes in to Stan’s Romper Stomper TV series. My favourite bit was when the leftie group Antifasch, masked up and carrying weapons such as crowbars, pipes, and sledge hammers attempted to bash a group of Patriot Blue attending a funeral. It was their clear intent to hurt people with a different opinion. Unfortunately, Patriot Blue were prepared, and had a counter-attack force on standby. The lefties were the ones who ended up more bashed and bruised. The director perfectly captured the look on the face of the leader when she realised that shit was getting real, and rather than freely bashing people at a funeral, her crew of uni cretins were getting hurt. The non-existent Melbourne African crime gangs have just been introduced into the story – it will be interesting to see where that goes.

Again, the series seems to be pushing me to support the Nationalists, but it is making the point that no one in these groups is a winner.

The victim of a violent home invasion in Melbourne’s west, who was slapped and threatened while the family house was ransacked, says the government and police are “wrong” to deny the state is facing an African gang crisis, urging leaders to visit victims of crime.

Val, who did not want her surname published, was minding her nephew’s family home last week when a group of more than 10 youths of African appearance shattered the glass back door and trashed the home, forcing her to sit in the front room while they threatened her with baseball bats and stole technology and money.

Nine days after the attack, 59-year-old Val has watched with increased concern as the state government and police have stepped back from labelling a recent of spate of youth crime as a “crisis”. Victoria Police Chief Commissioner Graham Ashton at a press conference on Thursday rubbished claims that Melburnians felt unsafe to go out to dinner.

“I got very angry when I saw the police press conference. I thought you really need to open your eyes and look at what’s happening. You need to visit these areas which are quite highly populated,” Val told The Weekend Australian.

“They are gangs. You talk about bad motorcycle boys, well hang on a minute, these are no better than the motorcycle boys. They are running around and terrorising people, and they’re saying they are not gangs, they are saying there is no problem in Victoria. They are wrong.”

    Chris Kenny in the Oz:

If not for the publicly funded ABC, SBS, subsidised magazines, universities and bureaucratic interventions, the false narratives of the virtue-signallers would be soundly defeated in the open marketplace of ideas. Instead, their nonsense dominates.
For much of last year journalists and commentators on the ABC spoke of a “reckless” Trump increasing the risk of “thermonuclear war” because of his sabre-rattling over North Korea. Radio National this week interviewed Christopher Hill, the US diplomat who led the six-party talks and other efforts under George W. Bush and Barack Obama to end North Korea’s weapons programs. Host Hamish Macdonald and Hill joked and mocked Trump’s efforts at diplomacy. Yet it was Hill and the West who had been played for fools by North Korea, leaving the world with this nuclear-armed legacy, and it is Trump who has delivered stronger sanctions from the UN, US and China.
With the small but welcome development this week of the North and South holding talks, the ABC dropped its theme of Trump as the dominant and ham-fisted player and busied itself explaining why he could not claim credit for what had transpired. One moment its narrative had Trump bringing us to the brink of war (when things looked ominous) and the next we had the bellicose diplomacy of the world’s most powerful leader being irrelevant (when there were promising signs). This deception might pass muster on Q&A but it does not pass the pub test.
The national broadcaster quotes Al Jazeera, Buzzfeed and CNN to mock and sneer at Trump and the daily confected scandals but seems to have missed the import of what is happening with American taxation reforms, the global economy and other developments in international relations. If this is how jaundiced and inaccurate it can be on issues where we can all see the facts, imagine what it might be getting away with on education policy, healthcare issues, border protection controversies and the climate and energy debate.

But he still goes on to suggest that Malcolm Turnbull can change and pull it all around.
Kenny’s dreaming. We need a real circuit breaker.

  105. JC

    Yep, Trump is insane.

This comes from Environmental Politics… there is such a thing.

Investigations of the interconnectedness of climate change with human societies require profound analysis of relations among humans and between humans and nature, and the integration of insights from various academic fields. An intersectional approach, developed within critical feminist theory, is advantageous. An intersectional analysis of climate change illuminates how different individuals and groups relate differently to climate change, due to their situatedness in power structures based on context-specific and dynamic social categorisations. Intersectionality sketches out a pathway that stays clear of traps of essentialisation, enabling solidarity and agency across and beyond social categories. It can illustrate how power structures and categorisations may be reinforced, but also challenged and renegotiated, in realities of climate change. We engage with intersectionality as a tool for critical thinking, and provide a set of questions that may serve as sensitisers for intersectional analyses on climate change.

Gatluak Puoch was 13 when the army told his parents their son was ready to go to war. Sudan was then in the middle of a civil war which for decades tore apart tight-knit communities and families as warring groups clashed in the central-east African nation.

By his 14th birthday, Puoch saw no future for himself.

“You can imagine that being a kid at that stage, being confused about what is happening in the country, what caused it, what the solution will be — it was about day-to-day coping. It became so intense I couldn’t cope with it, I had to make choice. I told my dad I had to go. I made a choice, because life was just too bad.”

Puoch would leave his family home and spend eight years in a refugee camp in Ethiopia until he stepped on to Australian shores in 2002. Now studying for his third degree — a juris doctor at La Trobe University — the 35-year-old lives in Tarneit, in Melbourne’s west, where he works in support services for struggling families and young people from migrant backgrounds.

A few things will happen.
The SRW will find that the Champion is like an empty chip packet and be surprised how quickly the Champion goes from oppressor to victim without wanting to engage in a battle so much as to hit and run, and blame Australia for being racist.
The SRW will be denied the opportunity to claim mental illness, persecution and or hurt feelings, self defence or solo operator status as it is axiomatic that if a SRW does anything about anything then he or she is an agent of the xenophobes and a foot soldier of Far Right.
Masses of wailing Champions of Diversity and their spawn (that multiplies in the style of binary fusion) will be hitting MSM, SM and staging protests demanding the overthrow of the Government for enabling such a terrorist act.

Said masses will be granted permission to sponsor all identifiable relatives living in the not-a-shit-hole place from whence they came to emigrate to Australia to attempt to redress the issue of being persecuted minorities.
Morning television programs will run for weeks with the need for understanding of the onus of responsibility for everything that’s bad ever in history resting on current white people- except women or inner city hipsters/ gender fluids/ homos/ others selected entities. David Koch will overwork the smarm and start each of his rants with a grab of the Black Eyed Peas’ ‘Where is the Love’.
The School curriculum nationwide will be overhauled so the only subject will be the Safe Schools Program, compulsorily delivered in Benaadir, Maay, Njerea, Pitjantjatjara and other culture enriching languages. English will be banned. School will be a voluntary option.
The UN will be forced to send Peace Keepers to intern white Australians, who as an act of repudiation for their statist and gender unequal and white privileged Fascism, have been stripped of citizenship.

    That means nothing BorisG.

The stupidity of Wayne Glew is him thinking he could win.

It doesn’t mean his arguments on much of what he says (not all) has merit.

Just because our governments are acting unconstitutionally, doesn’t mean by pointing it out to them you are going to win.
I’ll still be paying my land tax, as that is what it is.
I come from the angle with rates that as I have no choice as to the amount and cannot decide to not have the service, that it is a tax.

Everything else state governments charge for is optional.
You don’t have to drive your car on roads, you don’t have to have a licence.

But private ownership of any property cannot be taxed, and I have no choice but to pay.
    It’s obviously a tax.
And I would suggest that it being kept by the council and not given to the commonwealth is also unconstitutional, but seeing the constitution never envisaged this criminal behaviour, it didn’t specifically address where the funds from this crime should go.

Linking to an opinion piece on Wayne Glew by a local journalist is laughable.

Not much being said about the who the why and the what of Dolly Everett’s (the Akubra girl) bullying.

Some simple things to do immediately to minimise young people deliberately hurting another Dolly:

Make all children compete in sport, gymnastics, chess, and education. Eliminate the “all children must win a prize philosophy”. This way many more young people will experience failure as they grow up and therefore be more empathetic to others who are seen as losers.

Introduce the cane to schools. Punish the bullies with it. They will associate bullying with pain and minimise their own bullying.

Name the bullies, irrespective of their age, and have the parents punished too. Parents will then drive the digital market into developing applications where electronic devices can be monitored for key words. Parental supervision would increase overnight.

Finally, take legal action against bullies whose actions cause suicide. Imposing control from the courts will lead to self-control by kids and adults alike.

A former Olympian and head swimming coach at a prestigious Sydney school has had his family torn apart in a fatal crash on the NSW south coast that killed his wife and left him and his son clinging to life.

The accident is similar to the crash that ended the lives of three members of the Falkholt family on Boxing Day.

Hamid Mobarrez, his wife Tamy and their five-year-old son Eli were travelling home to Sydney from a school swim camp in Mollymook on Thursday afternoon when another vehicle allegedly veered into their lane at Milton and collided head-on with their Subaru.

Look I realise the difference – there are a lot more Weinstein accusers, Weinstein has admitted some of the things he’s been accused of – but it’s relative early days for McLachlan, and an increasing number of people are coming out of the woodwork, telling the same story. And people claiming to be witnesses, too. It’s not looking good for our Craig, let’s be realistic.

And it really isn’t surprising that a lot of people are coming forward with their experiences of him. Yes, it’s possible that they’re all jumping on the bandwagon. Not likely and increasingly less so as more people emerge, but possible nevertheless. More likely is that a lot of people are coming out because there are a lot of victims. Someone who does the kinds of things he’s said to have done doesn’t do it to one person, one time. No, they think they can get away with it full stop, and do it to whoever takes their fancy. That seems increasingly likely – approaching overwhelmingly likely.

The side of the contract with the guns.

I reckon he is wrong regarding section 44 and companies over 25 people, for example.

Lots of ‘victims’ (let’s get real a sexual insult and outrageous innuendo is not ‘victimising’ as in rape and serious assault) were seemingly quite happy to think of it as acceptable behavior for ‘his type’. Look at the role he was famous for. It was once acceptable behavior of a sort; it is not any more. We should just say we have moved on. (AP via Oz):

The White House physician has pronounced Donald Trump to be in “excellent health” after his first medical exam as US president, capping off a week in which his mental fitness for the job has come under intense scrutiny.

Trump spent about three hours with military doctors at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Maryland, an exam that White House doctor Ronny Jackson said went “exceptionally well”.

“The president is in excellent health and I look forward to briefing some of the details on Tuesday,” Jackson said in a brief statement distributed by the White House.

The exam came after a new best-selling book portrayed Trump, 71, as unfocused and childlike.

The White House has faced a barrage of questions over his contradictory messages on key policies and an incident last month where he slurred some words while giving a speech.

The White House determines what data will be released from the exam.

Trump is not compelled to release any information, and there is no template for the presidential exam. Jackson is expected to take questions about the results from reporters on Tuesday.

There isn’t a single member of the White House press corps who doesn’t want Trump driven from office, so Tuesday’s White House press briefing by Sarah Sanders with Dr Ronny Jackson as her star guest will be a Trump Derangement collector’s item.

It’s interesting to note that the newspaper article linked to by Boris “the communists never committed genoside” G typically gets it wrong in even what the reasons Wayne gave for councils not being government was because the commonwealth doesn’t recognise them, when he was actually saying that there are clear rules about what is to be decided by commonwealth and what is to be decided by states and according to section 51 they have no right to make laws regarding state departments.

I believe he is dead right about the invalidity of the states courts and who are judges are not taking oath to, etc.

The Governor General description definitely says him.

I’m not against a female governor general (although this equality thing is proving we have it wrong) but it clearly says HIM and it may be only a little thing, but it is proof they are not completely going by the book.

To West Europeans there’s one real “****hole” country. It has extremes of wealth, reckless business, failing schools, lousy infrastructure, rampant gun crime, record of losing wars, gerrymandered congress & a populist leader.

This guy was our Foreign Minister. He is now Beijing’s Chief Operative in Australia.

Hepatitis A outbreak confirmed in Victoria

Gay and bisexual men will be eligible for free hepatitis A vaccinations following confirmation of almost 30 cases in Victoria.

Deputy chief health officer Dr Brett Sutton says 27 men have recently contracted Hepatitis A, while another 12 cases are being investigated.

Gay and bisexual men, as well as people who have injected drugs in the past 12 months, will be offered free vaccinations to combat the infection from January 22 until December.

Too much shitholing? Be careful Philip Mudd!

Strangely, not only do people still want to go there… they get angry when you tell them no.

A question for Steel Cut Oats Man – if the US is such a sh!thole, why are people queueing up to live there?

West Europeans? So Bob Carr is saying East Europeans don’t feel the same way? Why could that be? Hmmm.

If only Obama could have had a third term to finish the job, hey bobby boy?

Tony Abbott won in a landslide for the centre-right, with a confirming popular vote. That achievement was greatly assisted by the work of the convoy, and thus of Struth. The convoy galvanized a lot of BBQ opinion. That’s hard to document, but the results came in electorally. Shame Tony then blew it. Also of value were the various anti-climate-change rallies which were tidy and respectable and gave many people pause to think and change opinion on the MSM nonsense.

..and this has translated into effective action against leftard policies such as ….
That’s right! Nothing of lasting value. More, much more of the same.

Abbott won because the RGR liars were unelectable, not because of a peaceful march barely acknowledged by anyone.
Boat reffos have been replaced, in larger numbers, by the migration program, ably sabotaged years ago by that khunt Howard.

Gilas, you stand in the centre of the inaction. Get moving.

I’ve already described what I have done on previous threads, but in a country of whingeing, gimme-gimme sheeples, where government has a solution for everything and most citizenry has been disarmed, there are limits to what one can do.
I’ve stated, repeatedly, what needs to be done on previous threads.

But one thing is sure, the solution won’t come from Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs.

Mr. President, immigrants from El Salvador, Haiti and the 54 countries in Africa likely helped build your buildings. They’ve certainly helped build our country. cc @POTUS https://twitter.com/business/status/951598283218186242

No matter how hard she tries, Ms Clinton has been beaten far too badly with the ugly stick to ever be elected POTUS.

Many western Europeans have never forgiven the US for liberating them from Nazi tyranny and keeping the Russians at bay.

Odd people; they secretly long for a boot in the face.

  217. Nick

Clinton herself, proves a point. It’s not just the country such people come from in a land/border sense, it’s the actual people that can make a place a shithole. Trump was right

  218. mh

Many western Europeans have never forgiven the US for liberating them from Nazi tyranny and keeping the Russians at bay.

But Roger, most of those are in France.

Anyway, here’s a Frenchman who wishes someone would go back to his shithole:

  219. Rae

So Rae can visit Dr. Google. Who knew?

No, I didn’t visit Dr Google. Already knew about the corticosteroids, Prednisone in particular. It’s the one often prescribed for cancer patients, to help them feel better while undergoing chemotherapy.

  220. calli

That would be the same Chelsea Clinton who wished the Satanists “Happy Holidays”? No wonder she goes in to bat for Haiti.
