    That is all.

Australian National University researcher Sophie Lewis details parental leave woes

An Australian National University academic says she has been confronted with homophobia and sexism during a 51-week fight for parental leave to care for her and her wife’s child.

Climate scientist Sophie Lewis last week wrote on Twitter her application for maternity leave had been declined by her funding body, the Australian Research Council, as she was not her child’s birth mother.

Big Sol, of course, is in the jug. Interesting story where he promised to pay $100k sponsorship to rugby club Auburn Warriors, but didn’t. The level of English at his command suggests a low level of literacy:

…emails between Mehajer and the club, in which the colourful businessman said he was attempting to pay the outstanding amount.

“Please Cosinder [sic] this as a formal emailto [sic] confirm that the sponsorship is still at foot,” Mehajer wrote in August.

“Unfortunately, we have been audited and we are waiting for the ATO to release the funds.

“We are still willing to relpay [sic] release $100,000.00 subject to it being 100% tax decidable [sic].

“I have mentioned that I will be such to the ATO but they did say that “until the audit is over, no one is able to assist me- nor am I able to make a partial payment”.

In another email, sent to a third party, Mehajer wrote that “I promised a young talented Rugby league Team that I will sponsor them for the amount of $100,000.00” and that the invoices he had received remain “un-paid”.

    The club is apparently folding.

    OSC,

It is exactly the right way to deal with lefties – you trigger them, turn their irrationality up from 11 to 110, and make them come out when you are ready and they aren’t.

Like that story about the Americans in Iraq playing “America! Fuck Yeah!” It would drive the enemy berserk, and when they came charging recklessly out from where they were hiding the Americans would just pick them off.

And it is a catchy song too.

Defence call for public support from ‘allies’ of LGBTI soldiers
MATTHEW BENNS, Editor-at-Large, The Daily Telegraph
    14 minutes ago
    Subscriber only

POLITICALLY correct defence chiefs have told members of the Australian military to signal they are an “ally” of the LGBTI community by putting a rainbow flag next to their name in the national ADF staff directory.

The latest attempt at “inclusion” comes after the Human Rights Commissioner fired a salvo at defence chiefs saying there were still “pockets of resistance” to “embracing diversity” within defence.

But Army veterans warned the rainbow flag attempt at inclusion could backfire by excluding many members of the military who chose not to be a Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Intersex (LBGTI) ally.
    Former Army captain Bernie Gaynor.

Defence’s “Diversity and Inclusion Adviser” Thomas Hoffman wrote to members of the military about the “sweet new function” which allowed people to show they are an “LGBTI ally” by putting the rainbow flag next to their name on the Defence Corporate Directory.

“The broad principal (sic) with workplace allies is that they are visible, supportive people who can act as a POC (point of contact) should someone have an issue in the workplace,” he wrote last month.

“We are not putting strict rules in place on who is or isn’t an ally because we don’t want to stifle the fantastic, positive and uplifting conversations you know you’ll be having amongst colleagues and peers,” he said.

Australian Peacekeeper and Peacemaker Veterans Association NSW President Bruce Relph said: “This is nuts. Sexuality has no place in the military.

“I respect people in the military because they are good soldiers not because they have a rainbow next to their name.”

He said there were concerns that not conforming to the rainbow tag could affect opportunities for promotion. “Something like this should not be allowed to affect someone’s career path,” he said.

Former Army officer and Australian Conservatives member Bernie Gaynor said that by not signing up, those members of the defence force “will be publicly outed” and their career affected.

“Defence members who refuse to sign up are likely to face difficulties obtaining promotions, especially to the higher ranks

The move comes after Human Rights Commissioner Edward Santow told the Military Pride Ball last year that “pockets of resistance remain in the ADF”.

“Embracing diversity will not only allow the ADF more effectively to meet the challenges of modern warfare, but will also allow it to live up to the expectations of the communities they defend,” he said.

Mr Gaynor said: “It is extremely concerning that this program has been launched following the Human Rights Commissioner’s declaration that there are ‘pockets of resistance’ to homosexuality within Defence.

“We are facing a ‘rainbow jihad’ inside Defence. This policy is not about acceptance. It is about pressuring all Defence members to celebrate homosexuality.”

The ADF did not respond to requests for comment.

I am advised that there are petitions circulating among nursing professionals to sign a petition to can the plan to compel nurses to admit white privilege to self identified minority group people prior to doing any of their tasks.
One would imagine that signing the petition would provide a database for the string pullers to kill the careers of non-correct thinking nurses.
Other health professionals will be next if the can get up with the plan.
This excludes doctors who are either a small and dwindling privileged group of white supremacists or a burgeoning self identified minority group member.

The Green Blob – lead by Alan Jones, Anna Pallychook and the Labor elites; and taxpayer funded activist lawyers have just about killed New Hope Corp.

Jobs at risk in New Acland coalmine knockback

The fate of the New Acland coalmine and, with it, neighbouring rural communities, is under threat after the Queensland government refused to green-light the $900 million expansion of its operations.
More than 700 employees and contractors rely on work from the mine, near Toowoomba, and a further 240 jobs were expected to be created with the expansion.

The decision was welcomed by environmentalists and some local landholders — championed by Sydney radio broadcaster Alan Jones, who grew up in nearby Acland — who have been waging a campaign against the mine and its expansion for several years.

The Department of Environment and Science said concerns about the potential impact of the mine expansion on groundwater was behind its decision —

New Hope, which had been criticised by the Land Court over its modelling on projected water use, had submitted new modelling that was then rejected. “While the revised groundwater model attempted to improve upon the earlier model, the department could not be satisfied that the likely impacts on groundwater, and landholders in the area, would not mitigate the risk to an acceptable level,’’ the department said in a statement last night.

Love to know what the definition of ‘acceptable risk level ‘is ? One suspects that the unspoken definition is – no level of risk – no matter how small.

This is the precedent – the Green Blob will move heaven-and-earth to shut down mining completely and turn Australia in to a few highrise urban enclaves and de-industrialise the rest of the landscape.

Veneztralia just moved forward another notch.

    WORLD BREAKING NEWS
    Jacob Zuma’s many scandals

    Reuters
    9:25AM February 15, 2018

A LIST OF JACOB ZUMA’S MANY SCANDALS:

    ARMS DEAL

Zuma is still fighting 783 counts of corruption over a 30 billion rand government arms deal arranged in the late 1990s when he was deputy president.

    RAPE ACCUSATION

While deputy president of the ANC, Zuma was charged with raping Fezekile “Khwezi” Kuzwayo, the HIV-positive daughter of a friend who had been imprisoned on Robben Island with Zuma during the apartheid era.

Zuma was acquitted in 2006 but was ridiculed after saying he had showered after sex to reduce the risk of contracting HIV.

    NKANDLA UPGRADES

Soon after becoming president, it emerged that millions of dollars of public money had been spent on upgrades to Zuma’s Nkandla home, including a swimming pool that one minister justified as a fire-fighting resource.

Zuma weathered a no-confidence vote in parliament over the upgrades and paid back more than $500,000 after unsuccessfully trying to argue his case in the Constitutional Court.

    SONONO KHOZA

Zuma apologised to South Africans in 2010 after fathering a child out of wedlock with his friend Irvin Khoza’s daughter, Sonono Khoza.

Zuma, a polygamist, had promised the ANC’s leadership he would not engage in extramarital sex after the Khwezi episode.

    ‘CLEVER BLACKS’

Zuma caused controversy in 2012 for scolding black people “who become too clever” in an address to South Africa’s National House of Traditional Leaders, saying “they become the most eloquent in criticising themselves about their own traditions”.

    NENEGATE

Zuma fired finance minister Nhlanhla Nene in December 2015, replacing him with unknown parliamentary backbencher Des van Rooyen. Zuma was forced to sack van Rooyen and re-appoint a previous finance minister, Pravin Gordhan, four days later after the rand currency collapsed.

Caught the tail end of Richo last night, with him proclaiming some intel testimony to Congress should prove Wussia-gate was alive and moving forward.

Apparently the intel chiefs appeared as a group. What Richo seems to have been talking about seems to be this:

Intel chief says “national cry” needed to combat Russian election meddling

In an open session of the Senate committee’s annual Worldwide Threat Assessment hearing on Tuesday, all six intelligence chiefs told Vice Chairman Sen. Mark Warner, D-Virginia, that they stood by the conclusions of a January 2017 assessment that said the Russian government — at President Vladimir Putin’s instruction — interfered in the 2016 presidential election. “We need to inform the American public that this is real,” Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats said Tuesday.

“That this is going to happen, and the resilience needed for us to stand up and say we’re not going to allow some Russian to tell us how to vote, how to run our country,” Coats, who leads the nation’s 17 intelligence agencies, said. “I think there needs to be a national cry for that.”

What I am missing here is – what is the form of the alleged Russian ongoing interference, which the intel chiefs say is already targeting the midterms ?

I would venture to suggest that the statement by DNI Coats is so florid and sweeping, it could easily have come from one of the Senators – not an intelligence professional.

How the f**k is Vlad Putin telling America how to vote and how to run the country ? You guys have billions of dollars of assets and expenditure at your fingertips and can apparently tap phones and emails all over the place. Where are the puppet strings of Putin pulling people’s hands as they enter the polling booth ?

It seems to be the Midwives Association pushing this.

From a stay in hospital a couple of years back, I learned that there was a bit of a rift in the medical profession between nursing midwives and midwives. The former are midwives who have done a full degree nursing course but who specialise in midwifery.

The latter appear to be bunch new age women who have set themselves up as midwives who bring a more ‘holistic’ – I think that was the term – and caring sharing approach to the profession than the rigid and clinical approach of the nurses. I don’t know what training the midwives undergo.

I later bumped into a former APS colleague who worked in ‘diversity’ in both central and line agencies, a strong feminist – a pillar of the WEL -and multiculturalist.

It is one thing to think life is not fair and you are a powerless victim. It is a whole different level when someone tells you you are right and admit that it is their fault.

And what culpability could an individual nurse have? It inculcates identification with some group – here racial. You don’t need to have done anything but you are guilty because of the group.

The victim, on the other hand, is free to indulge in all manner of demands of restitution for their individually being a victim.

  27. Up The Workers!

We should be told all the private and confidential details of Bolt’s own sex-life with his wife (and other partners – if any), so we can publicly determine whether we pompously deem it to be “acceptable”.

No doubt the same or a similar situation occurred when the Florida cops got hold of the Cruz scum.

Cowards both. Big men when shooting at defenceless people who’d done nothing wrong to them, but fold when confronted by an actual threat to their own wellbeing.

In the first 24 hours of his life, the caring/sharing midwives refused to let him have anything other than mother’s breast milk – which wasn’t coming through.
Dehydration set in, emergency dash from country hospital to Canberra ICU, and cross fingers for several days. Got through it but with some long term medical problems.

    right Dr Stimpy

  33. Mother Lode

Okay, this is what I am not getting:

Why would anyone think that the Russian would have preferred Trump as President than Hillary?

Hillary would have been perfect for Putin. She would be endlessly malleable on any matter as long as she got good press and optics. She had already gone along with them in dealings with Uranium, her cupidity such that her acquiescence on anything could be bought and, if ever the improbable were to come to pass and she suddenly felt the need to stand for America, they had all her dirty secrets from her email server.

Manufacture the occasional ‘crisis’, let her fly to Moscow for a meeting, and then let her come home strutting about as the great Statesperson who averted war.

And the MSM would be a very willing accomplice in ensuring Madame President’s missteps never got reported – she would have been able to sell the whole country and they would dedicate entire issues to how wonderful she looked in her pastel pantsuit.

Trump on the other hand was always far more likely to stand up to Russia. He was committed to re-arming America and with re-imbuing it with confidence such as it had not felt since Reagan – when Russia lost the Cold War. And his unpredictability would make it far more difficult to calibrate things that might provoke him.

When Putin came out in the election saying he was looking forward to working with Trump, was there any question that his intention was to put Trump’s voters off? Knowing that they didn’t want him working with the Russians.

How on earth has it got this far?

  34. Elizabeth (Lizzie) Beare

C’mon Lizzie, tell me this is an early April Fool’s day joke?

Old School Conservative, my source for this name (Ivar Horse-cock) is Jonathan Clements, ‘A Brief History of the Vikings: the last pagans or the first modern Europeans?” Constable & Robinson, 2005, during a discussion of Viking ‘kennings’ in naming practices. Clements does gently suggest that this particular one may have been a Viking joke name. There are plenty of examples of these, often rather rude, referring to both male and female anatomy in disparaging terms, or otherwise, as in the case of said Ivar April Fool above, depending on your viewpoint. 🙂

All of the other names I listed apply to attested historical personages, and as you will recall, not all are complementary. Ivar the Boneless, for instance, has led to a lot of speculation that this famed warrior leader actually had a particular sort of disease of the bones. Alternatively, ‘boneless’ may have been used as a critique, as we might use ‘spineless’ for Tony Abbott in the 6 months following his election as PM.

How a Descent into Climate Fanaticism Wrecked a Family

Most of the Valve Turners say that their acute concern about climate change, and their decision to break the law because of it, have come with significant personal costs. Some have lost friends and partners, and all have found that “climate freakout people” are not popular at parties. Still, most have reached an accommodation with those who don’t share their alarm.

Foster was also determined that his household reduce its own carbon footprint. He tried to talk his family out of a Hawaiian vacation and other travel. He tried to talk them out of buying a Christmas tree and getting a cat. “Everything I do and don’t do today, to pollute or stop polluting, changes what lives and dies on the planet for the next 300 years — in a very specific, particular way,” he told me. “I can’t let myself off the hook.”

Will they take the next step? Much as the incessant surveillance by the intel agencies for muzzo terrorists is tiresome, at least they are attuned and ready for nutters like these should they do so.

Des, well done for identifying the two streams of midwifery. One is perfectly respectable and trustworthy, with proper medical training and no skin in the game when it comes to calling for backup if things start to go pear-shaped.

The other is an offshoot of radical feminism. They have described hospital births as equivalent to rape, seriously. I believe their is also a 1800 number for any reported sightings:

15 Feb, 11:00 am: Barnaby seen at Merthyr Village Coles in Brisbane picking up apples, licking them, then putting them back.

15 Feb, 11:10 am: Barnaby in David Jones, Parramatta, stuffing whole rolls of toilet paper into toilets to clog them up.

15 Feb, 12:02 pm: Barnaby seen at Petersons Cellar Door, Hunter Valley, tasting all their wines – and then not buying any.

15 Feb, 13:30 pm: Subject Joyce at Lithgow McDonalds, pinched several little girls to make them cry. Next ordered security to eject all children from ball pit, then ate double cheeseburger with pickles which he spilt in said ball pit.

15 Feb, 14:02 pm: Barnaby at Happy Daze nursing home switching their meds and trying to get Alzheimers patients to sign cheques for his re-election.

DISTRACTED GOVERNMENT PUTS DUAL CITIZENSHIP ON THE BACKBURNER

Labor MP Susan Lamb will contest the next election without taking further steps to renounce her British citizenship, as the Barnaby Joyce saga “diminishes” internal concerns about her status.jobs.

A Queensland Labor MP who did not want to be named said there had been concern about Ms Lamb’s case but that had “diminished”, courtesy of the scrutiny of Mr Joyce.

Another Queensland Labor MP claimed the government had “baulked” at “pulling the trigger” and referring her case to the High Court as Mr Joyce’s relationship with an ex-staffer “swamped any other issue”.

The government has repeatedly threatened to make a partisan referral of Ms Lamb if Bill Shorten does not act first, characterising it as a test of his leadership.

“The killing zone was before Christmas, it was coming back into parliament (when it resumed last week).

I don’t know what it’s like in the ADF now, but when I did Kapooka back in the day if an instructor wasn’t happy with your performance you’d get belted over the back of the head, and then made to do additional PT (along with your section mates) until your teeth hurt. Did the world of good for most, and the rest were unceremoniously booted.

I have a very good mate who’s an instructor at the NT Police College, and he relates similar tales of newly arrived recruits with entitlement issues and so on. A couple didn’t bother to show up for a law exam a few weeks ago because ‘their head wasn’t into it that day’ and ‘I didn’t sleep well last night’.

Fortunately for all concerned there’s a provision in the Police Administration Act up here that says if you’re on probation, you can be terminated with no notice and with no reason given, and best of all no recourse. These two were reminded in no uncertain terms of that provision, and in veils of tears sat the exam the same day. After the rest of the squad did three full shuttle runs in a row while they watched.

I think we can turn to the inestimable Theodore Dalrymple for a pertinent analysis of what is going on here :

“In my study of communist societies, I came to the conclusion that the purpose of communist propaganda was not to persuade or convince, not to inform, but to humiliate; and therefore, the less it corresponded to reality the better.

When people are forced to remain silent when they are being told the most obvious lies, or even worse when they are forced to repeat the lies themselves, they lose once and for all their sense of probity. To assent to obvious lies is…in some small way to become evil oneself. One’s standing to resist anything is thus eroded, and even destroyed.

A society of emasculated liars is easy to control. I think if you examine political correctness, it has the same effect and is intended to.”

Martin Parkinson, head of PM&C and the APS, is a ‘diversity’ champion.

Let’s face it – Parkinson and his subordinates basically run the government, while letting Turnbull & Co amuse themselves with the notion that they are in charge.

Parkinson is both the face and driving force of all this, and I think Dalrymple’s analysis tells us where this is all going to wind up.

Zimbabwe’s veteran opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai dead

    AP
    7:44AM February 15, 2018

Zimbabwe’s veteran opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai has died at age 65, bringing an end to his long campaign to lead his country. He had been seeking treatment in neighbouring South Africa after announcing in 2016 that he had colon cancer.

Tsvangirai for years was the most potent challenger to longtime ruler Robert Mugabe and even became prime minister in an uncomfortable coalition government for a few years.

Mugabe resigned in November after pressure from the military and ruling party, and this year’s election will be the first without the man who led the southern African nation for 37 years.

In January, Tsvangirai suggested that he would be stepping down, saying he was “looking at the imminent prospects of us as the older generation leaving the levers of leadership to allow the younger generation to take forward this huge task.”

The surprise of the master and officers was very great, knowing as they did that the bottom was excellent holding ground … At this period some person on board expressed a suspicion that all was not right with the buoy, which was immediately ordered to be hauled on board, an operation usually requiring but little strength in this case, however it was found necessary to put on a strong purchase tackle when the men forward sung out, “there is a young whale fast to the buoy rope by the tail” which proved to be however an enormous shark, judged to be nearly thirty feet long, fast to the buoy rope near the anchor…
The shark had evidently hitched himself … thereby causing the vessel to drift unaccountably.
The head and shoulders of this huge monster were not seen, as the available purchase was not sufficiently powerful to hoist the whole of it out of the water … The liver of the shark was obtained, and produced, when tryed down, above thirty-five gallons of shark oil..’

Madam Gin asks me, what would happen if women suddenly left the economy? Being innumerate and economically illerate, she needs my help in figuring this out. Obviously, if done suddenly this would obviously cause a labor supply shock.

However, this was never the question because the assertion put forward was that it was a terrible mistake to force females into the workforce and an even bigger mistake allowing them to vote.

The real question should be.. are we better off? Seeing most organisations have been corrupted with HR and employment laws etc… no we’re not better off economically nor socially.

I’m quite libertarian on this issue. Remove all employment laws such as discrimination etc. and privatise the education system. That should sort out the mess we’re in to some extent. Also, remove any semblance of harassment lawfare. In other words if women feel harassed in their workplace and don’t like it, they can fuck off and find another job. Life is also about endurance.

Only 30% of females doing STEM subjects stay on and make a career out of it. The rest leave and have kids, or change their work fields entirely. In other words subsidising this specific area of education is a total dead weight loss. Moreover, a large number of these gals are affirmative action. Best to give the places to the boys who have better grades and will likely make it a lifetime profession.

Former Comancheros boss Mahmoud Hawi shot outside gym

    @Rhi_lani

The former head of the Comanchero outlaw motorcycle Mahmoud ‘Mick’ Hawi has been rushed to hospital after being shot in the face in a drive by shooting outside of a Fitness First gym in Sydney’s south this afternoon.

Paramedics and police were called to West Botany Road in Rockdale just after midday, following reports that a man had been shot at several times in the gymnasium car park.

Hawi had suffered severe facial injuries and went into cardiac arrest.

Photographs have emerged on social media showing a black Mercedes Benz SUV peppered with bullet holes from this afternoon’s drive by shooting.

Several windows in the car have been completely shattered, with the front left side window with at least four bullet holes.

Police have told The Australian that Mr Hawi is in a critical condition in St George Hospital and is “unlikely to survive”.

The ministerial standards require ministers to not mislead the parliament. Four times the Deputy Prime Minister told the parliament that he did not approach Mr Greg Maguire to ask him for a place to stay. Since then, the Daily Telegraph and The Australian have both publicly confirmed that Mr Maguire told them it was the DeputyPrime Minister who phoned Mr Maguire. Has the Deputy PrimeMinister already misled the parliament four times today in breach of the ministerial standards?”

    Joyce:

“I stand by my statement of this morning. I did not ring Mr Maguire and ask him for a place for free. I did not.”

He sits down after Labor interjections. Pat Conroy is warned.

    Joyce:

“Mr Maguire approached me. He made an offer. I offered to pay for it. He said that the didn’t have to worry about it because I was a mate. If you just think about it logically…you would hardly ring someone up, ask for something for free, then offer to pay for it, then get it for free. That’s because it didn’t happen. It is as per the statement.”

    Mark Dreyfus to Barnaby Joyce:

“In addition to the over $5,000 of taxpayers’ money, did Mr Maguire’s business receive any more taxpayers’ money because any of the more than 80 attendees were booked to stay at the hotel which was selected by the government to host the event?.”

“Is that all you’ve got”, a Coalition backbencher yells.

Christopher Pyne tries to stop the questions.

“Mr Speaker, for the Deputy Prime Minister to be able to be questioned about this particular matter, it needs to have been in his portfolio at the time he was a minister and the member for Isaacs has not clarified whether he is talking about a grant under the Department of Agriculture or the Department of Transport and Infrastructure.”

Tony Burke steps up for Labor to allow the question:

“The question refers specifically to the previous answers of the Deputy Prime Minister. He is referring specifically to that. It is referring also to the document of a question on notice from the Senate. None of that has been disputed, but the relevance of it to the standing orders is quite specifically the following on from an earlier answer where the Deputy said he had no idea this payment had been made and given that he was present at the event, it is a legitimate line of inquiry.”

    Tony Smith allows the question.

    Joyce:

“As I said,I will take the section on notice for which he referred to in the previous answer and [I say it] again. As to where people stay after a function, honestly I would have no idea, but – so I won’t be able to answer that part of the question.”

Joyce seems very, very flat. So does much of the government. You could hear a pin drop in this chamber each time Dreyfus gets up and Joyce takes the despatch box.

Having lived in Canberra in the corridors of power for many years …

Of course you have, deary, of course you have. After all, it’s all about you, isn’t it?
And you have a wonderful familiarity with the upper echelons of the corporate world too?

I wonder if you are aware that you can talk sense without attacking me personally and thus inviting a come-back. Try it.

I come here with the voice of lived experience in these matters, for myself and for some of my women friends. We all have our current and past circumstances. Of course beautiful young women abound in the offices of these men. That’s life. Sensible women take care to handle that with regard to their husbands, as they are the ones who know them best and probably love them the most. My advice to wives is no more than Bettina Arndt has offered to all women; look to his needs as well as your own.

Rampant feminism in these matters is, as Milo suggests, a cancer – baby sick on you or not (and believe me Johanna, four babies gives me the experience to speak freely there). If he’s still a ‘root-rat’ in the Cat’s favorite word for it (and many are in this permissive world, both men away from home and women on the prowl) after you discuss meeting his various needs as well as yours, then you are better to be shot of him. In such discussions, often almost unspoken ones between trusting spouses, the word love does come into it as well as duty, fatherhood and respect, all of which a good man hardly needs reminding about.

Infidelity is the cancer. One it starts, it tends to continue, although not always. A dear male friend of mine once admitted to me tearfully about his affair (which I’d heard about on the grapevine) and told me he was busy ‘repairing his marriage’. Not all men are intrinsically rats. Sadly, my first husband was a serial philanderer and despite several re-starts we just could not make it work. He wasn’t changing.

Islam forces France to consider revising century old law on secularism as Macron seeks to wrest control of mosques from foreign interests and financing.

The key to Macron’s program is for the state to license and fund Muslim clerics though a tax on Halal foods and appoint a Grand Imam who will be the authoritative Muslim spokesperson.

We may be critical of facets of his proposed program, but he’s evidently miles ahead of our political leaders in understanding the dangers large numbers of unintegrated Muslims represent to a liberal democracy and he has support of key clerics and scholars.

The Grand Mufti’s office issued a statement some time ago, claiming that he speaks fluent English, albeit with an accent. IMHO, he uses a translator for two reasons – he gains time to think about his answer, while any questions are translated, and, if there is any kickback about what he says, he simply blames the translator.

    Credible.

Another thing, he may be an Arabic chauvinist who disdains English.

Whatever the case may be, he’s not promoting integration with his practices or views.

Maybe I should add “We is Us.”?

Job opportunity: National President, Comancheros MC. Or OMCG, depending on who you talk to.

Mick Hawi, shot in the face with a shotgun (as you do) has had multiple heart attacks since the shooting and has been declared brain dead.

Of course, the declaration of brain death was made 30 years ago.

We have to get that water and we have to start prioritising those communities, the health of the river over Barnaby Joyce’s mates, those big, corporate, greedy irrigators. That is the choice we face at the moment. We have now fighting chance of doing it, cancer doing that, of resetting the Murray-Darling basin plan, so that we have a plan that looks after the river and the people who depend on it, not just a few corporate irrigators up in the northern part of the basin.

    Translated means-

The greens won’t be happy till all irrigated agriculture is wide out.

As long as you didn’t label the spot on the shelf where the box goes. That would be obsessive.

From the Melleuish article at Quadrant On Line

Section 52xxiiA of the Australian Constitution simply allows it to “provide benefits to students”. This gave the Commonwealth government the capacity to fund university students.

Could this be interpreted as giving the Commonwealth government only the capacity to provide benefits directly to students? That is, direct grants to students in cash or vouchers? The old Commonwealth Scholarship Scheme did this.

If this interpretation is correct, the current education funding through state governments, universities and private schools collapses, probably to the great benefit of Australia.

    Bought myself a nail gun.
It is now my favourite thing in the whole world.
Have to find more things that need nailing.

LOL. I bought a rivet gun last week for a job.
    Same.

I had the same infatuation with a Brother labelmaker once. 😄

That’s nothing in comparison to the lust I felt when I bought my first Hitachi Electric Router and box of bits all those years ago.

  213. Arky

Is a a framing gun or a brad gun?

    ..
    Hitachi framing gun.
Just spent another day nailing bits of wood together.
Frankly the novelty is now starting to wear off.
    Still pretty cool though.

  214. Arky

Think I need a new air compressor.
Should have bought the woman one for Valentines.

  215. Leigh Lowe

    OK.
I see Catallaxy Wars ver 123 coming.
I only ever use screws with my DeWalt driver.
    Nailguns are gay.

  216. Stimpson J. Cat

I only ever use screws with my DeWalt driver.

    How expensive are they?
Need to know if it is worth buying.
I won’t use it often as I only have a few screws loose.

The shooting outside the Gym is just awful.
Apparently it disrupted the 10:30 yoga class and, try as they might, they just could not get their chakra going again.

Dutton is one of the few Lieborals you would bother to piss on if they were on fire.

I knew a few young Liberals at uni.
They would have been right into that.

    The setting on fire bit
    or
    the pissing on bit?

Vagina wigs. Yes, that’s what I said. Vagina wigs.

    Isn’t the technical name “merkins”?

  220. Knuckle Dragger

    Boambee,

I think I heard the term ‘merkin’ once on an episode of Blackadder, but it disturbs me that someone thought it a good idea to reintroduce it as high fashion 500 years after it dropped from popularity.

They’ll be sporting vagina turbans next.

I think the burka fills this role.

We had a key cabinet key that I labelled exactly so.

PORN STAR TO CONFIRM AFFAIR WITH TRUMP
Have a look at her pics over at Bolt. I wouldn’t vote for anyone who didn’t nail her. Male or female or other.

Stormy Daniels looks old, saggy and nasty. Well past any prime she may have had.

If you have to, there are much better options.

One suspects there is one, last big pay day to be had for a tale told in front of the cameras about S-E-X.

So normal modus operandi – different cameras.

Got it. I’m going to be a squillionaire.

The full vagina wig/merkin, with a couple of googly eyes bought from party shops stuck on it. Topped with a henna tattoo across the belly saying “I’m with stupid” with an arrow pointing downwards.

Bitcoin – pfft. Messrs Dior and Versace, you have my number.

I bet there was no armed guards on campus to deal with this bastard.

    Wrong I’m afraid.
Police chief on Fox this morning stated that at least two police officers are on duty at every school in the County. Very big schools with thousands of students. The cops can’t be everywhere.

I don’t buy it. Where were they then?
