Oh, what a load of horseshit. We heard the same precious whining from that monumental imbecile Shorten.

    Grow up, you bleating pansies.

The last person you offered your bosom to prior to sdfc was srr after Trump’s election – correct, IT? And did srr accept? These facts must be accurately recorded for future generations to learn.

    Wrong. Completely & utterly wrong.
Those of us who have been so fortunate as to have shared our lives with a Cattle Dog know just how deprived of experience you are.

Cattle dog is a vague descriptor. Is it a registered breed? We had ’em when I was a kid, but always Heinz 57 as far as I can remember. Great dogs true, but hardly companion animals given their role in farm duties; now replaced sadly, by motorbikes and the like. Because their instinct is to work, work, work, most unsuitable to have just lolling around the backyard.

Welfare Waiting Period Could Increase Poverty For Migrants
Community groups have expressed vehement opposition to proposed legislation which would force migrants to wait longer to receive welfare payments, warning it would lead to increased child and family poverty.

If they came here with something between their ears in the first place, they would not need welfare.

When a Wahhabi activist loses one of their shoes, they blame Mossad for hiding it.

Blaming Mossad whenever a bloke is off on his own at night and becomes shot is first instinct, but may be more narrative fitting than factual.

Thanks Rafe for the brilliant article at Quadrant about the anti-nuclear movement.

    A phoney war, I suspect.
I remember being very amused by the erection by South Sydney Council at the height of the anti-nuclear movement of a “Nuclear Free Zone” sign on the roadside within metres of the radionuclide storage facility used by the laboratory where I then worked.

Check out the lead at Drudge. Ivana (minus k) is now giving her 2c’s worth about Trump. And look what she has to say about Don Jr’s divorce:

She, too, is “very sad” about the split, but thinks her son will be fine. “Donald Jr. is a good-looking guy. He is successful. He is not going to have a problem to find a girl,” she said. “Maybe Vanessa might have a little problem because she has five kids . . . who is going to date and marry the woman who has five children? Especially since she is young [40] and she might want to have more.”

Er what now? If we’re talking looks, see the photo of Don Jr looking totally gormless, and his ex. There seems to be some distance between the two in the looks department. Also I suspect the alimony payments might make the issue of five kids less of a burden.

If it was the Mossad, firing ten shots and only getting four hits seems a poor performance. It also seems quite visible.

Fair comment. I’d suggest it was probably a rival, in Hamas, that did the deed.

A while back I was having a haircut at my local. The barber turned out to be Palestinian. I mentioned hadn’t been to where he came from but had spent some time in Iran.

He said that the Iranians killed his brother. No further information, but Hamas has various Iranian enablers and advisers.

You’ve obviously never lived with one.
Their function and nature as a working dog, as a member of a group of other working dogs, in an agricultural setting is fundamentally different than as a companion animal.
As a companion animal you could not ask for a more sensitive, responsive and loyal creature.
Of course, they need to be properly trained and socialized. This takes more time and effort than many feel they can afford.

    http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2018/04/21/unpublished-cdc-study-confirms-2-million-annual-defensive-gun-uses/

The key point is this instance of Government politicisation of science. The CDC took the surveys, to check Gary Kleck’s published results. They concealed the fact of the survey and the results because they did not support the gun-banning politics of ‘their side’.
And this is the ‘Science’ that leftoids are marching in support of. This CDC is the agency that Leftoids whine is prevented from ‘studying’ gun violence.

I hope I can scrape up enough small change to purchase this (yeah, right):

In So You Want to Talk About Race, Editor at Large of The Establishment Ijeoma Oluo offers a contemporary, accessible take on the racial landscape in America, addressing head-on such issues as privilege, police brutality, intersectionality, micro-aggressions, the Black Lives Matter movement, and the “N” word. Perfectly positioned to bridge the gap [my bolding] between people of color and white Americans struggling with race complexities, Oluo answers the questions readers don’t dare ask, and explains the concepts that continue to elude everyday Americans.

Oluo is an exceptional writer with a rare ability to be straightforward, funny, and effective in her coverage of sensitive, hyper-charged issues in America. Her messages are passionate but finely tuned, and crystalize ideas that would otherwise be vague by empowering them with aha-moment clarity. Her writing brings to mind voices like Ta-Nehisi Coates and Roxane Gay, and Jessica Valenti in Full Frontal Feminism, and a young Gloria Naylor, particularly in Naylor’s seminal essay “The Meaning of a Word.”

It’s almost never about building bridges, but rather constructing casemates and camouflaging or revealing the explosives positioned at key structural points. Such things are designed to prevent any close inspection which will reveal that the obstructions are only temporary. The bridge needs neither repairs, nor ‘qualified’ moral-engineers to identify the same, non-existent issues. A sweep clean, a lick of paint, and the bridge is ready for use. As it always has been.

Bridge saboteurs masquerade as bridge ‘builders,’ but all they ever have in their toolkit is corrosion.

    THE TIMES
Stormy Daniels strips down and fires up America

Inside Fantasies gentlemen’s club, beside a railway line on the edge of an industrial park, the crowd throws dollar bills and bays for flesh as Stormy Daniels strides onto a stage that is surrounded by a mirrored bar.

To the strains of Lenny Kravitz’s American Woman, the night’s star attraction prances around in a sequined Little Red Riding Hood outfit before getting down to business. Soon, she is naked except for a blue garter.

She shakes her dyed blonde curls, slides up and down poles and lies down with her legs splayed open. As she slithers around the bar, the more generous contributors are treated to a “motor-boating” from the visiting porn star, who crouches down to allow them to place their faces between her breasts.

It could be any weekday night in any blue-collar town in America where lonely men pay $30 for a lap dance with a bored-looking hostess. Buxom waitresses work the room offering an $8 “pussy shot” of vodka with cranberry in a plastic cup.

But Daniels, who is 39 and was born Stephanie Clifford, is no ordinary strip-club performer. While the bar area is populated mainly by men, the queue forming to meet Daniels after the show in Baltimore is more than a third female. “You’re a feminist icon,” gushes one young woman.

    “Women are angry,” Daniels replies.

From the Oz. A feminist icon? Riiiight.

  37. Ƶĩppʯ (ȊꞪꞨV)

By Renaud Camus, writer ♦ Read this text carefully. Renaud Camus announces the founding of the National Council of European Resistance . This is an opinion. In a free country freedom of expression is protected. Not in France, new West Korea. At the request of “antiracist” medicines and subsidized immigrants (LICRA, DILCRAH, SOS-Racisme), the public prosecutor’s office initiated proceedings against the thinker of the Grand Remplacement.
Should we forbid this text? To everyone to measure the state of freedoms in France by reading it. And to understand the need to repeal the draconian laws starting with the Pleven law.

Immigration has become invasion, invasion — a migratory flood. France and Europe are now being a hundred times more colonized, and more seriously, than they have ever colonized. An irreversible colonization is a demographic colonization, by population transfer.

Some say there is no colonization because there is no military conquest. They are wrong. The conquering army is constituted by delinquents large and small, all those who make life impossible for the French by harming them in every way imaginable, from the famous incivilities to terrorism (which is only the continuation of the former). All the perpetrators of attacks have made their debut in common-law delinquency. There are no terrorists. There is an occupier who, from time to time, executes a few hostages — us — as all the occupiers have always done. I name as “occupiers” all those who declare themselves as such, or show themselves as such by their behavior.

The switching of people, ethnic substitution, the Great Replacement, — this is the most important event in the history of our country, from the very beginning, since with another people, the history, if it continues, will not be that of France. France has always wonderfully assimilated individuals who desired to be assimilated, but it can not assimilate entire peoples, let alone hostile, vindictive, even hateful and conquering peoples. It requires an incredible vanity, and a total ignorance of what a people is, to imagine that with a changed population France would still be France. All the words are liars, but the most lying of all is the word “French”, alas. There are no French jihadists, for example. If they are jihadists, they are not French.

To believe that there are only Frenchmen in France is a total illusion. There are invaders and those invaded, colonizers and colonized, occupiers and occupied.

  38. Ƶĩppʯ (ȊꞪꞨV)

You don’t put an end to a colonization without the departure of the settler: Algeria in her time showed us enough, alas — a good opportunity for us to emphasize, moreover, the difference civilization makes.

An occupation is not terminated without the departure of the occupier. There is no other way out than remigration. The same people who declare it impracticable want to bring forty million migrants to Europe, if not a full two hundred million. They proclaim that man has entered an era of general migration. He should migrate and re-migrate, then. What is possible in one direction must also be in the other, with more means and gentleness.

The time for politics, for elections, for parties is over. 2022 is too far away; the change of peoples will be too advanced then, the substitutes will be the arbiters of the situation, if not entirely its masters. And there is in any case no chance of ever winning a game in which your opponent has all the cards and where he has set all the rules. The government, its banks, its judges and its media want ethnic substitution. They don’t protect us from it; they organize it and promote it. They have drugged the people to accept it, through the teaching of forgetfulness, through de-culturation, censorship, repression and permanent injections of self-hatred. They don’t import workers, especially since there are no jobs and there will be even fewer later on. They’re importing future consumers; they don’t even bother to pretend that these are refugees, because the vast majority of these migrants come from countries where there is no war: orphans, sick, adventurous or conquerors young people, teenagers who have quarreled with their parents or who have been in trouble with the police, merchants who have failed in business.

You say that these future consumers do not have money. Think again: tomorrow they will have yours, because these so-called social transfers are, in truth, nothing other than ethnic transfers. Europe is the first continent that is paying for its own colonization.

A specter haunts Europe and the world. It’s “replace-ism”, the tendency to replace everything by its normalized, standardized, interchangeable double: the original by its copy, the authentic by its imitation, the true by the false, the mothers by the surrogates, the culture by leisure and entertainment, knowledge by diplomas, the countryside and the city by the universal suburbs, the autochthon by the allochthon, Europe by Africa, the man by the woman, the man and the woman by robots, peoples by other peoples, humanity by a haggard post-humanity: undifferentiated, standardized, interchangeable at will.

  41. Why is it that the most fervent proponents of the primacy of the white race are its least impressive members?

Oh that’s right. Because they can’t get a root.

  42. Ƶĩppʯ (ȊꞪꞨV)

Of all the genetic manipulations the Great Replacement, sort of GPA applied to the whole planet, is the worst. The genocide by substitution, according to the expression of Aimé Césaire, is the crime against humanity of the 21st century. It is also very strange that the ecologists stop the man their praiseworthy concern for biodiversity.

Replacement is now considered strong enough to take direct control of the human resource, without intermediary. In France, Emmanuel Macron, who is in the world, with Justin Trudeau, the most accomplished representative, has already neutralized the microcosm, sent back to their homes the main actors of French political life for thirty years, populated the Assembly of puppets in his pay, composed a government of meeting, burst all the major parties. He does not govern, he manages, as he would a bank or a public limited company.

He comes out of politics through economics, finance and business management. We want to get out of it by the story. The question of the independence or enslavement of a great nation, of the survival or disappearance of a great civilization, is not politics, it is history. Charles de Gaulle – whom we are celebrating today near his grave, on the anniversary of his death – Charles de Gaulle in London, it was not politics. Jean Moulin in Lyon it was not politics. Joan of Arc in Chinon either, nor Gandhi in Calcutta, nor any of those who rose for the independence of their country and for the dignity of their people.

What we need today is not a new party, not even a union of the rights: the rejection of substitute totalitarianism is no less leftist than right. What we need is the gathering of all those who oppose a great No to Islamization and African conquest. What is needed is a National Council of Resistance, of the European resistance, because all the European nations are invited to lead by our side the fight for the salvation of our common civilization, Celtic, Slavic, Germanic, Greek. Latin, Judeo-Christian and free-thinking.

My friend Karim Ouchikh, president of the SIEL, and I, Renaud Camus, have decided to form precisely this, a CNR, or CNRE. We will propose publicly to join us in all the personalities who seem to us animated by the same desire to save our country and we will thus expand our committee, by cooptation. But all French people and all Europeans who think like us are invited to get in touch with us and to support us. The goal is to build such a force that it is ideally useless to use it.

That said, if by chance it happened that the only alternative left to us was submission or war, then war, a hundred times. It would not have anything civilian, despite the number of collaborators and traitors. It would be part of the great tradition of fighting for the right of peoples to self-determination, for the liberation of the territory and for decolonization. We must finally come out of the colonial era, which our colonizers tell us so badly while colonizing us. We must stop once and for all, if possible over the Mediterranean, the crazy balance of colonization and counter-colonization.

Long live free France. Long live European civilization.

I think you can safely say that it has been, in the main, abrogated. Those rights denied the Crown have been assumed by parliament/government. With little benefit to the governed.

    Texas seems really good value.

Texas is a community property state so, where you have not co-mingled your assets, you take out of the marriage what you brought into it. Unfortunately, that doesn’t include the money you gave your wife to pay off her loans. But if you had a home before you married, for instance, you will walk away with that. Document all your financial transactions with your wife. The court has discretion to divide community property in a way it deems fair and reasonable.

Another development in your favor: In Texas, judges don’t instruct one party to pay the other alimony if they’ve been married for fewer than 10 years. There are exceptions to this rule — if there is a minor child involved, whether there’s been domestic abuse and/or whether the partner in question has a disability — but it’s unlikely that a judge will tell you to pay your wife alimony. So whatever result you do get, from a financial perspective you will be free and clear.

One of the most important historical societal functions of Churches was the recording of Births, Deaths and Marriages.

Only since the mid-1500s when they were required by governments to do so in Parish Registers. The absence of proper recording of births, deaths and marriages prior to then is the main reason genealogists are mostly unable to trace peoples ancestors any farther back than that. And it is why people who say they have done so are telling fibs.

Zippy’s only use to to identify which Cats will leap to his defence despite his obvious predilections, and which will reject his views as abhorrent.

I’ll stand up for Zippy, even if m0nty finds me abhorrent.

Zippy advances three opinions. The first is that Western Civilisation, i.e. European Civilisation, currently dominates the world by virtue of its ideas. This is unarguable. Communism and socialism are Western ideas, if not very good ones. Representative democracy is a Western idea. Between them these political ideas dominate the planet. Western technology is almost universal. You have to be insane to controvert this claim.

His second opinion is that this comes from genetics: the European (white, for short) people who produced this astonishing culture were able to do so because of inherited characteristics which are not found to the same degree in other races. This belief was widespread in the nineteenth century and is currently deeply unfashionable. For the m0ntys of the world, this is equivalent to szying it is false, but of course it isn’t. Whether it is true is debatable and should be honestly debated in the West, in accord with the best of our traditions. My view is that there might be a genetic component, but mainly it was dumb luck. I could be wrong. That is to be decided by examining the evidence. Damning Zippy as evil for even thinking this is fatuous.

The third opinion is the claim that there are still pockets of barbarism left, principally in Africa and the middle East, and that these people are invading Europe. Not by force of arms but by migration. And tbey constitute a threat to European hegemony and indeed to European existence.

The first part of the third thesis is hard to argue against. If you subscribe to the second thesis, the last part of the third thesis follows, but you can buy the last part of the third thesis without it.

The counter to Zippy’s three theses consists largely of shouting ‘wacist’at him. This isn’t an argument.

If you buy the three theses, the recent posts show that there are French men who want to organise a resistance to the invasion, and you would probably approve of this.

I don’t buy thesis number two, but I certainly wouldn’t condemn those who do. I wouldn’t condemn those who think their culture worth preserving. It is clear that politicians are not among them.

These are important, indeed existential issues. M0nty is incapable of making a contribution.

    Just moved on AAP:

Beefed up security measures including crowd control, bag checks and new vehicle blockers will be deployed across Sydney for this year’s Anzac Day commemorations.
Tens of thousands of people are expected to attend Anzac Day events across the city on Wednesday, with NSW Counter Terrorism Minister David Elliott saying there is no specific threat and the measures are in place to ensure the community felt safe.
“It’s a sacred day where people should feel encouraged and safe to go to areas where they will commemorate,” he told reporters in Sydney on Sunday.
The new steel-enforced bollards are being trialled for major events like Anzac Day and at other locations across Sydney’s CBD as part of the NSW government’s commitment to public protection, Mr Elliott says.
They will be covered in canvases on Wednesday so the city doesn’t look like a “concrete jungle,” he said.
NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian says the security measures were in place because its the “nature of our times,” and ensured the public the government was working with law enforcement to make sure Anzac Day was safe for all.
Crowds attending Anzac Day events in the city are being told to plan their trip and allow extra time for bag checks.
People are urged to avoid driving and instead use the additional public transport services with extensive road closures in place from 2.30am to 4pm.

My view is that there might be a genetic component, but mainly it was dumb luck. I could be wrong.

A few minutes ago I finished watching Peterson debate the IQ and race issues. I prefer not to use the idea of race and focus on ethnicity. I’m not a Peterson fan but on many points he raises here I agree with him. People say that we are all genetically equal. That’s irrelevant. What matters is alleles and one of the most surprising things I have seen is how a allele map of Europe so closely matches national boundaries. Even more surprising given that Europe has been subject to at least two massive migrations at 8000 and 5000 BCE, and the recent demographic shifts. So obviously it doesn’t take that much time for ethnic genetic identification through clades to emerge. Haplotype studies clearly reveal very different distributions cross the globe.

It is now well established that genes coding for brain maturation have been highly selected in human populations and I think it isn’t so much European genes as the originator p0pulations of Eurasia(north of Black Sea) and the Middle East from where those mass migrations happened in the early Holocene. Northern Asians appeared to have come mainly from the Eurasian stock. Recent analyses suggest the Joos originally came from the Eurasian stock. The demands of agriculture and socialisation for living in large communities presented an entirely new set of cognitive challenges.

I can’t debate this stuff publicly for he same reason Peterson actually(“you will be killed” to use his phrase).

Bajau ‘sea nomads’ developed enlarged spleens for deep diving

None of the articles specify over how many generations the Bajau developed enlarged spleens which hold more oxygenated cells allowing them to be proficient divers. However my bet is that it wasn’t pure darwinian selection as the primary force responsible. There is increasing evidence for environmental influence on gene expression and transmission.

When we map haplogroups we get a surprisingly correlation to physical location. ie we can trace people’s ancestry to specific areas. So clearly different people have different genes and have different abilities and will produce different outcomes. People are not equal.

The meme that marxists push, the equality of all people, flies in the face of common sense, but is consistent with their desire of equality of outcome. How is it possible that different genes all produce the same outcome? clearly this is an infantile piece of wishful thinking.

Mitch, Zippy, my dumb luck theory is based on observing happy fortuities that owe very little to IQ per se. For example, much of Newton’s optics was done while he was down from Cambridge because of the plague. Now Newton, like Archimedes before him had a crucial mental quality: a disdain for intellectual snobbery and a willingness to get his hands dirty. He ground his own mirrors for his reflecting telescope, something which is difficult and requires time and endless patience, as well as the brain power to see why it is worth doing. He disapproved of metaphysics which he described as litigious. This combination of the habit of intense and penetrating thought with a love of making things is rare. Yet without the time to indulge it, because of the plague, it might have led nowhere. The habits are doubtless genetic, but the plague was, from our point of view, good luck. And Newton’s work led to his System of the World, also known as the Principia, which convinced many that reason and experiment in combination could accomplish miracles, and led to the industrial revolution. This was the beginning of the age of reason, aka the Enlightenment.

So all that is distinctive about Western Civilisation was founded not just by a remarkable mind but by some good luck. Which didn’t look very good at the time.

There are so many things like this in the history of the West. A

    Yes, and.
Notice that ideas are not uniquely generated by an individual, though Newton was exceptional. Newton’s calculus was also conceived by Liebnitz, and published. Ideas and inventions although attributable to individuals are products of the times in that given the situations multiple people come up with the new ideas the times can facilitate.
Of course, without the work done to imlement and persuade the idea is nothing – but as long as SOMEONE takes it along the road, it becomes part of Western capability.

Yes. Archimedes got very close to the concept of the limit, the core of the differential and integral calculus, but there weren’t enough people of high ability to develop it at the time. Otherwise we might be a thousand years ahead.

Leibniz (not Liebnitz) actually had a more user friendly notation than Newton. Leibniz, or Leibnitz if you prefer American spelling, was not in the same league as Newton and had the silly idea that philosophy was worth spending time on. So he left us a useful notation for calculus and the theory of monads, about which nobody gives a stuff.

THE supergrass who broke the bikie code of silence over the 2001 car-bomb murder of top cop Don Hancock and his mate Lou Lewis is now a free man.

High-level sources have confirmed Sidney John “Snot” Reid, who served just 15 years after testifying against fellow Gypsy Joker Graham “Slim” Slater and then fingered another bikie associate for murder, has been released from an east coast prison within the past six months.

The news has swept police and criminal circles and while his whereabouts are unclear, it is believed he and his girlfriend have assumed new identities under the witness protection program.

Once described as Australia’s most protected prisoner, Reid has been shuffled between high-security facilities, including Goulburn’s “Super Max” which houses the country’s worst offenders.

While Reid pleaded guilty to the double killing just weeks after his February 2002 arrest, Slater pleaded not guilty to murdering the pair by detonating a bomb under the car they were driving when returning from the races in September 2001.

Slater was spectacularly acquitted of all charges brought by Reid’s roll-over in a verdict that stunned police, the victims’ families and the wider community.

This rooster will be looking over his shoulder all the rest of his life.

The comparison isn’t very sharp, Doc. You’re comparing an enormous racial group with a minute one. Pound for pound though I’d say abos weren’t as aggressive or warlike as Euros. The Germans knocked ~7% of the world’s population in two wars.

I don’t have any reason to believe aborigines were less warlike. They just weren’t as efficient at killing people as, say, the Germans. Machine guns and bombs are much better than spears and boomerangs at the job.

It’s possible Europeans are nastier people. Or it may be that they were just more ingenious. Once we stole gunpowder off the Chinese, we put a lot of thought into building really big cannons as well as inventing rifles and handguns. So yes, we killed a lot of people, partly because we could.

Some good quotes in the Weekend Australian on Anzac Day 100 years ago in France:

Sergeant Jimmy Downing of the 15th Brigade:

… bayonets passed with ease through grey-clad and were withdrawn with a sucking noise … one saw running forms in the dark, trying to escape, only to be stabbed or shot down as they ran … we were berserk, every one of us, there was no quarter. I remember bayoneting one Hun, a square fair solid fellow. The bayonet passed right through his heart … the killing went on. There was blood all over my rifle and bayonet and hands and all. Dawn broke and we started sniping and got many more Huns. We were sick of killing.

    Compare and contrast:

    Angus Campbell:

As soldiers our purpose is to serve the state, employing violence with humility always and compassion wherever possible.

Westerners have been very warlike and aggressive people. The science, the tech is sitting on top of a large number of skeletons. It’s been a very unstable region of the world.

Who isn’t JC? There is an interesting hypothesis floating around paleoanthropology. It wasn’t our intelligence that made us win out against all the other archaic sapiens, it was our aggression.

Aus aborigines: aggression depends on where you live. One account I read stated that in the arid regions co-operation was much more common, possibly because the numbers were so tiny any loss of human life could be catastrophic for the tribe. In the Murray region however, resource rich as it is, there is evidence of much aggression.

We document our history and lament our violence. Well we should do that but we are getting better. When I read about prehistory and the huge migrations that occurred I cannot help but think that there was much bloodshed involved.

The very first settlements going back several thousand years have one thing in common: they built walls. Some accounts state they went further, that the occupants would go on hunting trips into the local wild areas not to just kill game but to kill the remaining hunter gatherers. Again, about resources … .

  162. Snoopy

So all that is distinctive about Western Civilisation was founded not just by a remarkable mind but by some good luck. Which didn’t look very good at the time.

There is certainly an element of luck, however I am increasingly drawn to the observation that there is a stronger element of self-reinforcement. The magic in a culture happens at the margins. Create the means for the extreme top end to thrive and this can change the environment which creates a self reinforcing process.

My simple thesis is that it took brawns and brains for European culture to succeed where others failed. Creating a critical mass of men at those extremes is a self reinforcing combination.

There are two critical milestones that led to modern civilisation, the overthrow of superstition and the rejection of tyranny. Neither of which are a fait accompli and a remain a continual struggle. Why research and explore when everything you need to know is handed down by deity(s). Power vests in those who control the flow of this information. A code of law and governance and the rejection of monarchy and other forms of tyranny are critical for the freedom of the individual to trade and grow prosperity through private property.

Cultures that have lagged behind either have brawn and no brains, brains and no brawn or are stuck in superstition or tyranny or both.

There have been arguments put forward that the worse of the NA Indian tribes – the Comanche- went nuts because of the egregious treatment by the Mexican government.

    No true.

The Comanches were probably the most warlike people I’ve read about. They went ‘nuts’ not because of the Mexican government (which hadn’t yet been instituted) but because some Spanish horses got loose and headed North.

The Comanches quickly learned how to utilise horses for warfare and went from being the easy-beat North American tribe to the undisputed dominant tribe. They waged war 24/7 every day of the year and were the best cavalry soldiers on the planet for three centuries until they were defeated by the US Army in the 1870s.

They smashed all other NA tribes, the Spanish, Mexicans, Texan settlers and had some good stoushes with the Texas Rangers and US Army. Evil fuckers but good at what they did.

Tas Anglicans to sell property for redress
    Kaitlyn Offer, Australian Associated Press
    April 22, 2018 3:23pm
Tasmania’s Anglican Diocese will sell off scores of churches and other properties to find $8 million to redress survivors of child sexual abuse.

Bishop Richard Condie announced the sale of churches, halls, houses and land on Sunday, saying the diocese hopes to be a part of a national scheme.

“With an estimated liability of around $8 million in new and additional payments to survivors, it will require decisive action and significant sacrifice for everyone across our diocese,” he said in a statement.

“We intend to raise these funds from a proportion of Parish and Diocesan investments, through selling Parish properties, and by direct Parish contributions.”

Every parish in the state will be affected and at the June meeting of all parish representatives, it will be suggested more than 120 properties be sold – nearly half of all of the church’s real estate.

Bishop Condie said while he understood the sale would cause hurt for church members, it had a commitment to justice, recognition and support to survivors.

“We have not yet finalised the list of the properties that will be identified for sale, however I expect that we will be able to release these details within the next few weeks,” he said.

As well as wanting to join the National Redress Scheme, the diocese will continue to operate its own Pastoral Support and Assistance Scheme and this week agreed in principle to increase the payment cap to $150,000 per claim.

The federal government is urging all states and territories to join the scheme, stemming from the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.

The NSW, Victorian and ACT governments have signed up, but other jurisdictions are yet to join.

Payments will be assessed on a case-by-case basis with a maximum of $150,000.

Mystery surrounds Cindy Miller’s death in custody
    Jacob Miley, The Courier-Mail

THE death of a woman in custody has prompted fresh calls for an “independent” corruption watchdog in Queensland.

Cindy Miller, 44, was found dead in her cell at the Ipswich Watch House about 2am on Saturday, just hours after she was arrested.

Debbie Kilroy, CEO of the prisoner advocacy group Sisters Inside, said Ms Miller, as far as she was aware, had no known medical conditions.

Ms Kilroy, who had been friends with Ms Miller for more than 16 years, said the family had received no information as to what had happened.

She is now calling for an independent investigation into Ms Miller’s death.

“The time has come that we must stop police investigating police,” she said.

A Queensland Police spokeswoman said an investigation had been launched by the Ethical Standards Command, and would be overseen by the Crime and Corruption Commission.

But Ms Kilroy said the CCC employing police to investigate would not be “good enough”.

“I’m happy for the CCC to employ an independent investigation team that are not police to investigate, I would be happy with that,” she said.

Teens charged over alleged fatal hit-run crash
James Dowling, Cassie Zervos, Anthony Dowsley and Brianna Travers, Herald Sun
    April 22, 2018 4:42pm
A TEEN charged over a horror crash that killed a newlywed couple has been remanded in custody after facing court for the first time.

Police allege Eric Victorsen, 19, stole the $170,000 Lexus 4WD that ploughed into Matt Goland and Bita Zaeim’s car about 1am Saturday.

The teen, from Boronia, was today charged with two counts of culpable driving over their deaths and a one count of stealing a car.

A 15-year-old co-accused, charged with two counts of culpable driving as an accessory after the fact and one count of theft of motor vehicle, is yet to face court.

Mr Victorsen appeared at the Melbourne Magistrates Court this afternoon but made no application for bail.

Wearing a red shirt, it appeared he had been crying.

The court heard Victorsen had previously been diagnosed with an acquired brain injury and has intellectual disabilities.

He will be held on remand and appear before court via videolink on Tuesday.

Earlier friends and neighbours gathered to place flowers and cards at the scene of the incident.

Police had been hunting the occupants of an allegedly stolen Lexus SUV since the collision at the corner of Boronia and Stud Rd at 1am on Saturday.

Matt Goland, 38, and his wife, Bita Zaeim, 32, had only been married for 12 months and were on their way home to The Basin less than 10km away when they were killed in the crash.

The two teens managed to climb from the wreckage and allegedly fled the scene, despite the efforts of witnesses to detain them.

Three heterosexual couples were caned in Aceh, Indonesia, on Friday, for publicly showing affection (not for having sexual intercourse) while not married.
I have not seen any report of it in the Australian media, not even the ABC, which went into meltdown after 2 homosexuals were caned for having sex (not just showing affection) last May.
The ABC along with other media outlets called the caning of homosexuals barbaric and worse, but apparently being caned for natural heterosexual canoodling is ok by them.

Dam Busters dog renamed for movie remake – BBC News – BBC.com
    http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-lincolnshire-13727908
Jun 10, 2011 – The Dam Busters’ dog will be renamed for a new version of the classic war movie, it has emerged. Stephen Fry, who is writing the film’s screenplay, said there was “no question in America that you could ever have a dog called the N-word”. In the remake, the dog will be called “Digger” instead of “N1gger”.

  212. Entropy

Winston, nice list, you just need to be aware you have used the word ‘review’ two times too many, and ‘investigate’ one times too many, although perhaps you menat ‘investigate to consider charges.’

I don’t now if this is true and others here like Dr. BeauGan will have a much better idea.

It looks possible. Its main use might be modelling the next neurosis that the lefties come up with.

  214. Entropy

Is ‘Digger’ still a black Labrador? If so, everyone will know the truth.

  215. RobK;
    Winston,

The list is good except I’d leave off “and all state interconnectors be removed”. If they exist already, they may help further development and are a handy backstop.

Mothball the interconnectors because states like Victoria, South Australia, and Tasmania are being emotionally subsidised by the northern states into neglecting their own whole of state development needs.

  216. Dr BeauGan;

Disgusting. Nearly as bad as dancing, smiling, jiggling, perky cheerleaders.

    Fixxedit!

  217. Arky

In the remake the dog is called “f*ggot” and he is a bichon frise.

    Steyn on Enoch Powell:

    Quoting Douglas Murray:

One telling point he makes is how even the most ‘bigoted’ predictions of demographic change have been exceeded by reality. Suppose, says Murray, that Enoch Powell, in his incendiary ‘Rivers of Blood’ speech in 1968, had predicted that, in the 2011 census, in 23 of London’s 33 boroughs, people describing themselves as ‘white British’ would have been in a minority. He would have been pilloried for his alarmism. Yet it is so.

    And Steyn himself:

My own Enoch out-Powelled example comes from the arresting statistic that 57% of Pakistani Britons in the UK are married to their first cousins – and in the city of Bradford it’s 75 per cent.

    From Wikipedia.

In 1999, British television network ITV broadcast a censored version of the film, removing all utterances of “Nigger” (the real name of the unit’s mascot, a black labrador). ITV blamed regional broadcaster London Weekend Television, which in turn alleged that a junior staff member had been responsible for the unauthorised cuts. When ITV again showed a censored version in June 2001, it was condemned by the Index on Censorship as “unnecessary and ridiculous” and because the edits introduced continuity errors.[27]
In 2004, the magazine Total Film named The Dam Busters the 43rd greatest British film of all time.
The British Channel 4 screened the censored American version in July 2007, in which the dialogue was dubbed so as to call the dog “Trigger”, this screening took place just after the planned remake was announced. For the remake, Peter Jackson has said no decision has been made on the dog’s name, but is in a “no-win, damned-if-you-do-and-damned-if-you-don’t scenario”, as changing the name could be seen as too much political correctness, while not changing the name could offend people.[28] Further, executive producer Sir David Frost was quoted in The Independent as stating: “Guy sometimes used to call his dog Nigsy, so I think that’s what we will call it. Stephen has been coming up with other names, but this is the one I want.”[29][N 2] In September 2007, as part of the BBC Summer of British Film series, The Dam Busters was shown at selected cinemas across the UK in its uncut format. The original, uncensored, version was also shown on 1 and 5 January 2013, by the British broadcaster Channel 5. It was the version, distributed by Studio Canal, containing shots of the bomber flying into a hill.

Three or four years ago a family member was doing a bit of family tree research and discovered a great-uncle who was decorated a couple of times in WW1 and unfortunately died going for a third.
One citation made me sit up …

“For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty near [Western front location] on dd/mm/2018.
Pte Xxxxxxx rushed a section of the enemy trench from which the enemy had been firing upon his pltn and shot one, bayonetted four and captured two more of the enemy.”

    Bloody hell.
    That’s it.
It was so matter of fact.
Could have been reporting that Pte Xxxxxx had popped down to the shops for a pint of milk and a packet of smokes.

    Edmondson, John Hurst (1914–1941)
    by Ian Grant
This article was published in Australian Dictionary of Biography, Volume 14, (MUP), 1996

His battalion embarked for the Middle East in October and trained in Palestine. In March 1941 the 2nd/17th moved with other components of the 9th Division to Libya and reached Marsa Brega before an Axis counter-attack forced them to retreat to Tobruk. The siege of the fortress began on 11 April. Two days later the Germans probed the perimeter, targeting a section of the line west of the El Adem Road near Post R33. This strong-point was garrisoned by the 2nd/17th’s No.16 Platoon in which Edmondson was a section leader. The enemy intended to clear the post as a bridgehead for an armoured assault on Tobruk.

Under cover of darkness thirty Germans infiltrated the barbed wire defences, bringing machine-guns, mortars and two light field-guns. Lieutenant Austin Mackell, commanding No.16 Platoon, led Edmondson’s five-man section in an attempt to repel the intruders. Armed with rifles, fixed bayonets and grenades, the party of seven tried to outflank the Germans, but were spotted by the enemy who turned their machine-guns on them. Unknown to his mates, Edmondson was severely wounded in the neck and stomach. Covering fire from R33 ceased at the pre-arranged time of 11.45 p.m. and Mackell ordered his men to charge. Despite his wounds, Edmondson accounted for several enemy soldiers and saved Mackell’s life. When the remaining Germans fled, the Australians returned to their lines. Although Edmondson was treated for his wounds, he died before dawn on 14 April 1941. The Germans’ armoured attack that morning was thwarted, partly due to the earlier disruption of their plans. Edmondson was buried in Tobruk war cemetery. He had not married.
