struth – Hitler was not only left-wing, he was also a green.
Also a vegetarian, if memory serves.
    And a rabid anti-smoker.

The Anti-Tobacco Campaign of the [email protected]: A Little4 Known Aspect of Public Health in Germany, 1933-45
‘Our Fuhrer Adolf Hitler drinks no alcohol and does not smoke…. His performnance at work is incredible.” (From Auf der Wacht 1937:18)
    http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2352989/pdf/bmj00571-0040.pdf

[email protected]’s anti-alcohol, anti-tobacco, and “duty to stay healthy” (Gesundheitspflicht) for the State were all consistent with medically-run Eugenics.

Many are not aware that Eugenics was popularized in America. [email protected] and the Germans were students of American eugenics.

Some background. The connection between American, particularly California, and German eugenics:
    http://www.sfgate.com/opinion/article/Eugenics-and-the-Nazis-the-California-2549771.php

All of the current Public Health anti-tobacco, anti-alcohol, dietary proscriptions/prescriptions, the trance of flimsy statistics … the utter obsession with only physical health, i.e., monopolized by the medical model, could be taken straight out of the Eugenics era in America/Germany early last century.

I really loathe the latest piece of journalistic jargon, the ‘deep dive’ – it’s almost as bad as when people talk about ‘this space’.

The first I heard the term ‘deep dive’ was when Joe Rogan was interviewing Candace Owens and she said it about 50 times over a 20 min period.

Hitler ticked so many prerequisite boxes of the modern left he would’ve been feted, except for the obvious drawback of being a middle-aged white male, and not gay or noticeably disabled. Making up for that of course were his extreme food faddishness, neurotic drug habits, and his sexual perversion.

Even his antisemitism would be right at home, especially with his chummy relationship with fundamentalist islam. Doris Bagshawe and Sen Manson-Chick would’ve been up the front with wide-ons and damp kex.

  10. Oh come on

The Brits need to go back to the polls I think. Pretty astonishing that Corbyn stands a good shot at winning.

It’d be nice if a Euroskeptic majority could be cobbled together that didn’t rely on shitbags from Ulster who insist on a non-border with Ireland, but that’s probably way too much to expect.

Years back, when I first started teacher advisory work, we were warned not to use the term “brainstorming”, but “thought shower” instead.

    Musk sends sub to rescue

Elon Musk has sent a “tiny, kid-sized” submarine to help with the rescue. the billionaire tweeted yesterday that he had “great feedback” from Thailand and said the submarine was light enough to be carried by two divers and small enough to get through narrow gaps.

My god an hour or so beforehand Musk was swbding drill teams to Thailand (no charge), then he was brainstorming stupid tube ideas on Twitter and all of a sudden he got a kid sized submarine? What sort of crap to you people read and why do you keep posting such b*******? Engage your brain, gentlemen. Think! !!! Everything about Musk is bullshit. Change the names and give this a run on The Drum. They’ll think you’re a genius.

In 1934 Hjalmar Schacht, the Reich Minister of Economics, introduced the Mefo bills, allowing Germany to rearm without spending Reichsmarks but instead paying industry with Mefo bills (Government IOU’s) which they could trade with each other.[4] Mefo bills did not appear in the federal budget, so they helped conceal rearmament.[5] Between 1933 and 1939 the total revenue amounted to 62 billion marks, whereas expenditure (at times comprising up to 60% rearmament costs) exceeded 101 billion, thus causing a huge deficit and national debt (reaching 38 billion marks in 1939 and coinciding with Kristallnacht in November 1938 and with intensified persecutions of Jews and the outbreak of World War II).[6][7] When a large share of Mefo’s five-year promissory notes fell due in 1938, the National Socialist government employed “highly dubious methods” where “banks were forced to buy government bonds, and the government took money from savings accounts and insurance companies,” due mainly to a serious government cash shortage.

    Leadership contest?
Letters calling for a leadership contest have reportedly been submitted to the backbench 1922 Committee by some Conservatives over the weekend.

Tory MP Andrew Bridgen told the Press Association: “I can’t support the offer which emerged at Chequers – I think it’s a breach of the red lines, in fact the offer is so poor that I couldn’t support it even if the EU were paying us for it.

Please scroll by if you are one of the regulars.
    Please read ALL LEFTIES.

Hitler, the man who called Himself and his party socialists, who controlled the means of production, (just found no need to own it) , who put the state above the individual, disarmed his people, and typically blamed all others, especially jooos for his country’s problems, was a complete racist, a power hungry totalitarian, and fought the conservative capitalist western countries,…… but of course to the left, he was only paying lip service to socialism.

They then spend hours doing great leaps of faith over logic and fact to come up with what they always come up with.
Hitler only paid lip service to socialism and did not adhere to the true tenants of Socialism at all.

    Yawn.

Socialism is never socialism once it’s failed.
What did Phillip Adams say about Venezuela, and what does he say now?

Seeing that all attempts have been horrifying, murderous genocidal failures, we must come to the conclusion that Socialism has never been tried.

The difference between how Hitler saw his socialism compared to Marxist Socialism of Russia, was in the Nation state.

He knew, as everyone did back then, that the Marxist socialist state, then and now, is about total global domination.
The world without borders controlled by one group of arseholes in the farmhouse.
He, as a left wing totalitarian dictator, wanted to be that guy, that arsehole, and yet other arseholes WITH THE SAME IDEA wanted to rule ze vorld as well.

Not rocket science here is it?

    Hitler was Left wing.
Unfortunately for Socialists he said it often, he said it loud, he proclaimed it at every opportunity, and like all of these totalitarian left wing control junkies, brought misery and death to millions.

How can they disassociate themselves from the loser so obviously socialist, and who was so obviously evil?

One of the great propaganda feats in the History of the world.
A feat that had to be accomplished to let the left fight another day.
A lie repeated often, and furiously, was unchallenged by those who believed that WW2, the fall of the Berlin wall and the Soviet block had killed the left and proven once and for all that socialism is evil and fails.
But the fanatics were still there.
    They infested our institutions.
    Our education.

    It’s all socialism.
The only difference between the global aspirations of Hitler and communist Russia at the time was that Hitler wanted himself to be the head arsehole.

But no, although Hitler controlled the means of production (and was socialist by name and in everything he did), he unlike the Russians , saw no need in owning the means of production.
To the left, that last fact somehow can neutralise all the others, wipe all else out and make him a small government , low taxing, individual responsibility, extremist!
    Right wing!!
An Anarchist is the extreme of the right.
Was Hitler an anarchist or did he believe in the big state, and that the big state was more important than the individual?

Written for those lefties who are reading this blog, apparently.
You know who you are .
    The Marxist lefty.
    The Jooo haters of today.
    The racists.
Those who believe in a socialist one world order.
Just as the socialist (communists) did, with their arseholes ruling.
Just as Hitler did, but with his Lillie white arse ruling, not theirs.

    My Duty of No Care
Wherever and whenever people take risks outside accepted norms, I have a duty not to care what happens to them.
Flying with a commercial airline is an acceptable risk (although I never do), but jumping out of any plane and trusting that a parachute will keep you safe, is not.
Taking a cruise is an acceptable risk, but sailing or kayaking single handed for any distance, is not.
Taking a train through a tunnel is acceptable, but clambering alone through narrow fissures underground, is not.
Swimming in supervised waters is good, but swimming or surfing solo without close support, especially in waters known to be shark habitat, is not.
Going for a walk is good, but submitting oneself to solo treks across inhospitable territory, is not.
I will not accept responsibility, or pay for anyone who knowingly and deliberately puts their own safety at risk. They are irresponsible and must bear the consequences of their stupidity themselves and expect no assistance from others. I just don’t care.
I hope that the football coach who led his young charges into the water logged chambers in Thailand will be prosecuted to the fullest extent. God knows what that cost.

    http://www.abc.net.au/news/rural/2018-07-09/hay-shortage-bites-for-drought-stricken-farmers/9949540

Hay as a commodity is as dastardly a thing to deal with as you can get. Every so often there is a perfect storm of compounding bad luck and it gets very tricky.

Headology says that producers that combine running their own stock with selling commercial hay will have cutoff points where they stop selling and reserve stocks for their own use.

The last few dry weeks in Victoria have led enough graziers to respond to climatic triggers and stop selling to impact a market that has already seen the come and go sellers empty their haysheds at good money.

The next decision trigger, now that the hay market looks like stopping in the next few weeks is the destocking trigger. Cattle need hay, where sheep can be fed a grain only diet, so we see pressure on cattle prices .

Sheep in prime condition selling at alltime high prices, to lure finishers into pouring money into stock to get them away before the meatworks can halve the price.

Next opportunity to cut hay will see vast bulk made and shedded, but it might be another decade before a season like this one sneaks along.

  80. Percy Popinjay

    These people are insane:

“In the regulated states and territories like Tassie and the ACT power is significantly cheaper than it is in other states,” Mr Bandt told Sky News.

“In some cases your average offer you could be looking at the best part of $1000 a year for an average family, and that’s in large part because we’ve completely deregulated the retail electricity sector, and it’s time to have a good, hard look at it, because re-regulating electricity prices would be one of the best ways, together with building more renewables, of bringing down power prices.”

Asked why we needed an inquiry into electricity prices, Mr Bandt blamed people who “for ideological and political reasons” blame factors other than privatisation and deregulation for high power prices.

People like to say … ‘oh your power bills are going up because of renewables’, but that’s rubbish,” he said.

Such stupidity and dishonesty almost defies description. From the Oz.

Just read that Lauren Southern has been denied a visa to come to Australia. Outrageous.

    No it can’t be.

Read closely, she did the same thing that Yassmin tried which is asking for the non-work visa while on a paid-for conference tour. If you are a speaker getting paid then you need a work visa, and the Australian government was completely right to explain this to her. Indeed, they were polite to explain in advance and give her a chance to re-apply for the correct visa.

Lauren Southern is very pretty and reasonably smart but if she is going to support LEGAL crossing of borders then she should put in that extra effort to do it right in her own case. Also, be cognizant that work visas to Australia can be hard to get in some cases, a lot of people want to come here and work. That’s a consequence of border controls.

You lot all want to bellyache about the LDP supposedly having an “open borders” policy, and now you want to bellyache more about how awful it is when visa applications are separated into working and tourist visas. Sheesh!

  100. Leigh Lowe

Read closely, she did the same thing that Yassmin tried which is asking for the non-work visa while on a paid-for conference tour.

I couldn’t deduce that for sure, but it seemed to me from reading that it that it was simply a case of ‘wrong classification’ rather than a ban. The message invites her to apply for a Visa class 600, which may be a work visa rather than a tourist visa.
And, yes, you can hardly run on a ‘tighter borders’ platform whilst insisting that you be given an exception to enter on an incorrect visa.

The far-right internet personalities are well known for their outspoken views on issues such as immigration, Islam and political correctness. Ms Southern is a supporter of the anti-immigrant group Defend Europe, which attempts to block migrant ships coming from North Africa.

Now they all do it. They are not migrants; they are illegal immigrants. And there is a certain irony on reporting on Ms Southern’s visa problems while ignoring the fact that none of the “migrants” have visas.

struth – Hitler was not only left-wing, he was also a green.
Also a vegetarian, if memory serves.

Himmler and the entire SS were also vegetarians. They had their food specially grown and prepared for them. The Nazis were the first Green Party. They had a Minister for trees and the forests, the World’s first example of an environment Minister.

One of the principle beliefs and driving forces behind the FAR RIGHT OF SOCIALISM was their cult-like notion that each person was to be allotted a set area of land that they were to live off, growing their own food and consuming it. With typical German precision they calculated how much land was required for every German and this became the lebensraum (living space) policy which would require expansion Eastwards into Russia. The surplus Russians would be dealt with in the same manner that Stalin used a decade earlier via the Holodomor – starved to death. The Nazis would then be able to maintain the German population.

These ideas still persist in Socialism today. In modern parlance lebensraum is called “sustainability”; how many people can the Earth ‘sustain’. The ideas of the National Socialists are the same as the International Socialists. They just do it with a smiley face and the grand fraud of global warming now. Infact the entire global warming fraud has it’s roots in Marxism, the eugenics movement (fully fledged, endorsed and funded by the left), the Fabian Socialists, the Nazis, the Malthusians all the way to the modern day Greens.

It’s quite endarkening when you figure out just who and what the left really are and that they never really change.

Got told this morning from someone I know in Thailand & only being reported in Thai language at moment, that a Belgian has been removed from the dive operations apparently caught selling photos from inside the cave to Euro media. Apparently they have his face on a board at the entrance with his deeds. Can’t seem to find anything in the English media, wonder how much truth there is to it and if true probably one of the reasons other than the obvious interference factor the media has been moved 5km down the road…

One thing is for sure, the meeja are totally pissed off that they have been banned from trampling all over this.
Thais generally are renowned for their good manners and courtesy, which I think has been abused by the meeja. What the meeja failed to understand is that the Thai people expect that their courtesy be reciprocated, and will react accordingly if it is not (particularly in a life-and-death situation on their home soil).

    =================================

Tony Abbott has mounted an all-out campaign to force Australia to withdraw from the Paris climate agreement.1 If he succeeds, it will devastate our efforts to fight climate change and be a generational step backwards.

This brazen new attack comes at the same time The Nationals have demanded Turnbull build a $5 billion new fleet of coal-burning power stations.

It’s clear the conservative forces are committed to pushing this country back to the dark ages. And with Turnbull already promising coal will be around “forever”, there’s every chance he’ll cave in.

But we won’t let this happen. Already, over 1,750 GetUp members have donated to fight back against this outrageous dirty-coal push. But overnight, this situation has become even more urgent. We have to push back even harder.
Can you join the groundswell of people standing up for our future and chip in $12 to help fight back?

This is as stupid as it is dangerous.

The Nationals and One Nation are trying to build a fleet of new coal-burning power stations — and it looks like Malcolm Turnbull could cave to their demands.2

Two days ago, One Nation and the Coalition teamed up to try and pass a Senate motion demanding we build new coal-burning power stations. It came within two votes of passing.3

Then yesterday, the Nationals handed their new demands to Turnbull. At the top of the list — a $5 billion fleet of dirty coal and gas power stations.

And Turnbull? He just told Parliament to get ready for coal to be a part of our energy mix… “forever.”

There is every chance he will cave to their disastrous plan and shackle us to a future of coal unless we act now. We have to fight this. We have to sideline the dinosaurs inside the Coalition who are leading the push.4 And the best way to do that is to make marginal Coalition MPs afraid that they’ll lose their jobs over this stupidity.

To get at the worst of the worst, we’re going to have to get personal. We’re doing sophisticated research to craft a localised, personalised advertising campaign for each of the the most marginal coal-backing MPs, to inflict the maximum pain policy. Basically, we’re going to make coal hurt the Coalition, one by one.

Can you chip in $12 to fund our giant investigation and advertising blitz to find out exactly how to make these marginal climate-deniers hurt?

A new fleet of coal-burning power stations would be devastating for our fight against climate change. They would destroy any hope of meeting our Paris commitments. They will fill our air with pollution. They will make us sick. They will get in the way of our booming renewable industry. They will drive up our power bills.

But here’s why I think we can win, XXXXXX.

84% of the population wants a future powered by clean renewables, not dirty coal.5

The problem here is Coalition MPs have no idea how out of touch they are. They walk in circles around Parliament House with their noses stuck in the latest copy of The Australian, nodding at coal lobbyists as they pass in the corridor.

That’s how the Nationals get away with demanding $5 billion for new coal, while PM Turnbull indulges their fantasies of coal being part of our energy mix “possibly forever”!6,7 Their heads are so far up their own coalons they don’t realise they’re walking into a potential electoral nightmare.

We’re going to make it clear that marginal Coalition MPs can’t ignore the voters and keep their jobs. Here’s how:
    ·         Run sophisticated online message-testing using our very own custom tool to identify swing voters and exactly how to reach them.

    ·         Develop our own robopolling tool to refine the messages that will hurt the most vulnerable Coalition MPs in their own backyards.
    • Work with our incredible movement to cross-reference research, share learnings and make every single player in this movement stronger.
    ·         Take these messages and deliver them on billboards, at rallies and in digital ads where we know they’ll be seen every day.
Can you chip in $12 to run our most sophisticated messaging program we’ve ever run to rip the carpet up from underneath them?

Once we find the right messages, here’s how we’re going to deliver the punch.

In all our years of working together to hold our elected representatives to account, there’s one approach that reliably hits home — making it personal. There’s nothing that makes an MP more worried than a billboard that puts their own name and face on a bad decision by their party.

If we go after enough marginal Coalition MPs, with the right messages, we’ll achieve two things:
    • We’ll give ourselves the best possible chance of sidelining the influence of the coal club over Turnbull’s government.
    ·         And we’ll set the stage to make climate one of the deciding issues of the next federal election, like it was back in 2007 — the last time public concern about climate change was as high as it is now.
Can you help us deliver targeted, personal and unignorable messages to the most vulnerable Coalition MPs?

History is on our side, XXXXXX, and that’s exactly why this can work. While the Turnbull Government stands resolute in their denial of change, we adapt to science, to new technologies.

While they harden their brains from new knowledge and harden their hearts to those affected by climate change, we are finding new ways to work together, to bring people together in our shared purpose. To keep moving, to keep innovating, to keep caring.

We’re working towards a better future, but we’re going to have to fight for it.

Apart from the fact that it’s their children and their country and they have every right to tell the media to go take a flying leap there is also a matter of saving face in the absolutely horrible horrible awful awful possibility of something going wrong. It’s been bad enough them losing one of their own divers as it is. I will say so far I have been impressed with the way the Thais have handled this. Even the mammoth effort to pump out millions and millions of litres of water is not to be scoffed at. That is making this rescue possible. And the soccer coach – frankly he’s a hero. Anyone with less presence of mind may have tried to battle his way through the water to get out – 100% guaranteed death –
but he sensibly retreated deeper into the cave and found high ground and taught the kids how to survive. Even how to drink water from the cave walls and not to drink the tirgid **** swelling around them. To give you an idea of just how miraculous their survival has been just consider that the world’s most experienced divers found them and when they asked how many there were, and they were told there were 13, i.e. all of them – the divers themselves were elayed, gobsmacked, “that’s brilliant” because 99% of the time those guys are pulling lifeless bodies out of caves. Godspeed to them all and stuff the media.

    Frank,
Pumped hydro relies on cheap energy (traditionally baseload off-peak). With baseload atrophying due to parasitic subsidies, RE installation needs to increase to cover for it. But RE only produces 20-30% of its nameplate capacity over a year, so you need 3-5 times the capacity and then double it to get anywhere near the capacity to recharge whilst supplying the demand load….then add all the storage losses and line losses, added infrastrucure, increased complexity, decreased reliability. It really isnt a good plan. Previous two Snowy 2.0 feasibility studies found for the negative. It wont work unless prices are high.

  141. Fair enough Rob K. I know the Snowy management are actually worried about the growth of solar PV as it is driving up baseload prices. They’d been worried about this for quite a while now.

Seriously, I do hope that Trump nominates a true Constitutionalist who stays the fuck out of “lawmaking from the bench”.
He made that point the other day. If Roe v Wade gets knocked over, the issue can go back to the states and they can legislate … if they have the balls.
The problem of judicial activism is double-edged. Yes, there are judges who want to interfere and get creative, but there are also legislators who draft vague legislation and let the bureaucrats and ultimately the judiciary decide how to implement it.
It would be great to see SCOTUS force legislators to take a position and live or die by it at the ballot box.

Why women don’t return to work after baby
    VANESSA MARSH, The Daily Telegraph

NEW mums are returning to the workforce at an unprecedented rate with more than three quarters of working mothers going back to their previous job.

But industry experts have warned Australia still has a long way to go to catch up to other developed countries, with high childcare costs and lack of employer flexibility keeping many mums out of work.

New ABS data examining pregnancy and employment transitions found fewer women permanently left their pre-baby job last year, with 77 per cent staying in the same role in 2017, up from 71 per cent in 2011.

In a positive development, a higher proportion of those mums are now also returning to work with the same responsibilities, up from 59 per cent in 2011, compared to 65 per cent in 2017.

University of Queensland senior research fellow Michelle Brady said Australia had a lot of work to do to increase workforce participation rates among mothers.

“Because of the way our tax system and childcare subsidy system is set up, there’s not really that incentive or support for women to go back to work,” Dr Brady said.

Now one thing you can rely on Australians for is scepticism.

    They can see the corruption.
They can see the school’s marxist agenda.
They are being ignored and the left have had free range.

I reckon the best thing the left could do right now is get militant and violent.
When Australians have had enough, retaliation can and is usually swift and brutal because it’s been held back , trying to be polite.

Why the Thai military regime controls the media’s reporting of the cave rescue

The cave hosts the spirit of a princess from the ancient regional kingdom. She fell pregnant to a commoner and fled from the king, who had her bf killed. She committed suicide, her blood became the Mae Nam Mae Sai river, her body the Doi Nang Non mountain. Her spirit guards the cave and visitors are asked to appease her or risk a flood. Prayuth is manipulating the rescue to delegitimise a myth of regional resistance to central hegemony. Prayuth partners with the State religion ie superstition, Buddhism, to push the narrative Bangkok has a moral duty to conquer the uncivilised regions. Rescuers are portrayed with halos like Buddhist saints, Prayuth instructs the Supreme Patriarch of the Sangha to bless the rescue, and stages a Buddhist prayer vigil at Bangkok’s Royal Plaza. Prayuth is using the media, local and foreign, to strengthen the legitimacy of his centralist military junta. The media is obliging.

One of the goals of the antismoking unintelligentsia, most of whom are highly-paid marketers, is to maintain a high media profile. It doesn’t matter if it’s not a serious idea. Just be in the media. If there’s nothing going on now, dig up a “study” or a harebrained idea from a few years back and present it as if new. No-one will know the difference – too dumbed down. The media certainly won’t ask any probing questions.

This morning on Seven was the “big” story that the ACT is considering raising the age at which purchasing tobacco is permissible to 21. There was a discussion group of three “media personalities” that, of course, all thought it was just a dandy idea.

Tonight on Ten there was a call by the Cancer-On-Society Council to re-do the medical porn on cigarette packs. The current porn and warnings – most of which are not accurate – have apparently become “stale”. And, of course, smoking has been “linked” to more diseases. It’s already been “linked” to most diseases. How many more diseases can there be to “link”? One woman made the claim that the chemicals from smoking tobacco “wash over” organs and interfere with their function. Would anyone know how these chemicals “wash over” organs?

It doesn’t matter if nothing comes of these “calls”. The antismoking crap was on TV. Mission accomplished.
