BON – many rare diseases originate from animals?

A long ago article comes to mind, which was written when Ebola and Marburg diseases first entered on stage. Population and entrepreneurs pushing into tropical rainforests, opens up a host of possibilities for species jumping pathogens. Readers were invited to try and calculate the number of taxa in a rainforest and then multiply that by the number of viruses microbes etc etc peculiar to each individual species. The concluding question being, would any of them gladly to adapt to a better and more nutritive host?

Believing it was created just for us strikes me as rather conceited. To the point of self-absorbed lunacy, actually.

Why? Other planets may be inhabited by who knows what. The universe is a vast and wondrous, and for the Christian is limited only by the limitless imagination of the creator.

My point is that we can’t know. We can only speculate.

The temptation is to cancel out the existence God because bigness. And please try not to insult me by calling me names. You’ve done it before, but it doesn’t work.

Greetings from Rapid City! We swung by Hot Springs to have a look at the remains of the mammoths caught in a sink hole. They are preserved well – they were once going to be under a housing development but the owner alerted the boffins the moment he realised his bobcats had dug up something spectacular.

Like the terracotta warriors, they sit under an immense roof, slowly being revealed as each layer is carefully brushed away.

Our GPS tried to cark it on the way. But I got the mongrel working just in time – the fuse on the USB under the dash blew. Fortunately there was a second one in the centre console. The grasslands are spectacular – a bit like the country around Bathurst through to Canowindra. Little patches of unmelted snow resting in unlikely places.

Tomorrow it’s Mt Rushmore and Crazy Horse – maybe I’ll see Pete M dangling out of Washington’s nose! 😄

I’m even considering the thought that you yourself have grown weary of your own bullshit which is why you’ve moved from defending it to merely insulting your opponent. Soft flooring for cattle saleyards is a coming thing.

    https://www.surefootmat.com.au/cattle/applications/sale-yards/

New selling complexes with full rainproof and sunproof covering are more expensive, but do attract business.

If you have spent big dollars feeding a lamb or steer up to market, then they go and stand on cement in the rain for the pre sale curfew, the buyers take great glee in knocking the price they pay down because of the poor presentation.

The old days of walking up and down the selling lanes in a drizabone and waxed cotton hat, in the rain and sleet are vanishing. Workers compo claims for skin cancer are also going to be a thing.

The big motivation for the saleyards is competition from online auctions for livestock, where they are assessed on the owners property and bid on from the comfort of an office.

  11. Finding ways to counter the growing death cult has a chance of saving more babies then trying to ban abortion. So None’s strategy of demonizing those who recognize this reality is counter productive. All the other stuff is just noise.

How do you “counter the growing death cult” by not banning abortion at some point in a child’s development in utero and for some particular reason or set of reasons? And how do you quarantine those reasons or set of reasons from further limiting abortion?

G.O.P. Finds an Unexpectedly Potent Line of Attack: Immigration

WASHINGTON — Not long ago, as heart-rending images of migrant children separated from their parents at the border filled the airwaves, the issue of immigration seemed to be losing some of its potency as a weapon for Republicans with the midterm elections approaching.

But Republican candidates across the country, leaning on the scorched-earth campaign playbook employed by President Trump, saw an opening nonetheless, painting Democrats as the ones pursuing an extreme immigration agenda that would fill the country with “sanctuary cities” where violent criminals roam free.

A university professor chided Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., for taking a DNA test to prove her Native American heritage, saying her action ultimately does more harm to Native Americans.

Kim TallBear, part of the native studies faculty at the University of Alberta, said Monday that Warren taking a DNA test is “yet another strike — even if unintended — against tribal sovereignty.”

In a statement, TallBear said Warren has refused to meet with Cherokee Nation community members who have challenged her ancestry claims.

“This shows that she focuses on and actually privileges DNA company definitions in this debate, which are ultimately settler-colonial definitions of who is indigenous,” the statement said. “As scholars of race have shown, it is one of the privileges of whiteness to define and control everyone else’s identity.”

Warren’s DNA analysis, conducted by Stanford University professor and 23andMe adviser Carlos Bustamante, showed she was between 1/1024 and 1/64 Native American.

“Tribal governments establish regulations that do not use genetic ancestry tests, but other forms of biological and political relationships to define our citizenries,” TallBear said.

Whether Elizabeth Warren or Donald Trump or 23andMe’s Carlos Bustamante know it or not, they are making settler-colonial claims to our cultural and biological patrimony yet again,” she continued.

President Trump has mocked Warren over her claims that she’s a descendant of Native Americans, referring to her as “Pocahontas.”

Prime Minister Scott Morrison has described as “regrettable” his own senators’ decision to back a motion declaring “it is OK to be white”, while the Coalition’s leader in the Senate has apologised and blamed an “administrative error”.

Morrison is a spineless jellyfish. He is the supposed leader who is criticising actions by a substantial proportion of his own party.

Senator Cormann said the Coalition had actually resolved to oppose the One Nation motion when it was first raised in September, but blamed an “administrative error” for what transpired.

So they are not spineless, they are useless. How does an “administrative error” result in a vote in favour of this motion? It doesn’t; this is a lie.

Among those who backed the motion was Kenyan-born Liberal senator Lucy Gichuhi, who took to Twitter to clarify that she is opposed to “white supremacy” and “black supremacy” and that the Government “condemns all forms of racism”.

Lucy Gichuhi is black. Morrison is saying that she was wrong to support the motion.

The ALP, of course, pile on and use this as another reason to attack the LNP. The LNP, of course, buckles.

As he plays with his young son, Sydney Swans captain Josh Kennedy wants him to know one thing above all else — strong and silent is not a healthy way for men to live. “The number one thing is to have someone you can talk to,” Kennedy said. Kennedy was named as the inaugural ambassador for The Men’s Project, a program run by Jesuit Social Services to help boys and young men learn to handle the pressure to act according to traditional ideals of manhood.

Another pile on to criticise men for being men.

Dealing with those pressures and not talking about them can also be damaging to men’s mental health, something Kennedy says he saw throughout his football career. “Certainly there would be guys that would struggle with showing vulnerability,” he said. “Guys that would struggle with opening up and talking about issues that they’ve got in their life. And you can see the effect that it has on them.”

This the new feelz generation. What is good about “showing vulnerability”?

An alarming new study from Jesuit Social Services has revealed the damage this causes, including suicidal thoughts, violence and dangerous driving. The organisation surveyed 1000 men aged 18-30 across a broad social spectrum and found two thirds of respondents said they felt pressure from society to act a certain way. Within that group, one third of men actually agreed they should conform to those expectations.

Wow! Surprise! People think that there is “pressure from society to act in a certain way”. Welcome to human society since…forever. And the study does not “reveal the damage”. It has vague correlations. But we have a new buzz phrase!

‘‘We’ve learnt that the more strongly you’re in the man box, the more likely you are to be not going well,” Ms Edwards said.

But I have not seen it proved in the affirmative.
Why a call to prove the negative and not the positive?

It is not a mere cluster of any 4 cells. It is a cell or set of cells from conception (the number from 1 cell onwards does not matter) acting in an integrated manner to itself for itself. Further, the human organism as zygote (and at all other stages of human development) is distinguishable genetically from the mother and father, genetically, physically, and so on. We can retrospectively consider events that may have occurred to a more mature human organism at early stages of development that may have subsequently effected its development and we can only do so because there is a continuity between that organism in its 1st or 10th year from conception. So we have any number of reasons for concluding the affirmative but nothing in the negative beyond vague assertions.

    ABC:

The Royal Darwin Hospital sits on the swampy outskirts of town, a brutalist protrusion on the sunny, tropical landscape: a 10-level building with no balconies, freezing air conditioning, and dim lighting. The contrast is stark. On any given day you’ll see sick patients, many hailing from far-flung remote Aboriginal communities, wearing their hospital gowns and sitting in wheelchairs as they try to get in touch with nature while surrounded by concrete.

What a load of ABC nonsense. Much of Darwin is “on the swampy outskirts of town” because it is low lying and surrounded by saltmarsh and mangrove forest. The AC is not freezing, it is merely cold. Would they prefer that the sick swelter through the average Darwin day of 35C and 90% humidity? Yes, the hospital and surrounding building are made of concrete. It is in a cyclone zone. Should they be made of cardboard? And many of those outside are there because…they cannot smoke inside the hospital.

It also bears a strange, striking resemblance to another Australian hospital. Mr Stone asks: “What’s with Darwin Hospital being exactly the same building as Canberra Hospital, including having snow eaves?”

Utter morons. But the ABC has this correct:

“They were there as sun shading to keep the heat off the windows, and there was the additional minor benefit that it would give the building debris protection in the event of strong winds in a cyclone,” Mr Luxton said.

I saw the old hospital, before it was demolished, and many building around Darwin (including my current office), have the protective shields for shade and cyclone damage.

Darwin locals lament the sea breezy, lusciously green design of Myilly Point Hospital, which was bulldozed to make way for questionable developments that have never eventuated. They’re also quick to say that the architect of the Casuarina Hospital was Canadian, even though we’ve confirmed he was from Melbourne.

Really? In a quarter of a century, I’ve never heard this nonsense. The “questionable developments” were all built at Cullen Bay, about 500 m away, in a location rather more sheltered from cyclones. Myilly Point is now a heritage precinct.

    The link.

SloMO Morrison is turning out to be worse than Turdbull

PoliticsNow: Coalition overwhelmingly votes down ‘white’ motion

    Coalition backflips on “white” support

The Coalition has backflipped on its support of Pauline Hanson’s “it’s okay to be white motion” and voted against the same motion in the Senate.

Senate Leader Mathias Cormann moved that there would be another vote on Senator Hanson’s motion because the government “accidentally” backed it yesterday.

Labor agreed to allow the vote again but Pauline Hanson and other supporters of her motion did not turn up to the chamber for the re-vote.

The opposition to the motion was so overwhelming in the Senate the votes did not need to be counted.

Scott Morrison will try and shift the focus away from the divisive religious freedom debate that is threatening to derail the Liberal Party’s chances of retaining the seat of Wentworth in Saturday’s by-election.

    Christensen ‘OK to be white’

Nationals MP George Christensen has rebuffed his government’s backflip on its support of Pauline Hanson’s “it’s okay to be white” bill.

The Queensland MP sent a tweet saying it was “okay to be white” after the government opposed Senator Hanson’s motion in a re-vote this afternoon.

“It’s OK to be white. It’s OK to be Aboriginal. It’s OK to be Asian. It’s OK to be any ethnicity. If you’re for all of the above, good on you,” Mr Christensen tweeted.

“If you’re against any then you’re a racist and that’s fairly unAustralian. And it’s GREAT to be Australian!”

“A DNA test is useless to determine tribal citizenship. Current DNA tests do not even distinguish whether a person’s ancestors were indigenous to North or South America. Sovereign tribal nations set their own legal requirements for citizenship, and while DNA tests can be used to determine lineage, such as paternity to an individual, it is not evidence for tribal affiliation. Using a DNA test to lay claim to any connection to the Cherokee Nation or any tribal nation, even vaguely, is inappropriate and wrong. It makes a mockery out of DNA tests and its legitimate uses while also dishonoring legitimate tribal governments and their citizens, whose ancestors are well documented and whose heritage is prove. Senator Warren is undermining tribal interests with her continued claims of tribal heritage.”

    – Cherokee Nation Secretary of State Chuck Hoskin, Jr.

Good old Cherokee Chuck doesn’t want Warren upsetting the Civilized Indians scam that has led to and maintains his own and friends privileged position. Cherokee Nation (only one of a number of Cherokee organisations) uses the largely incomplete and inaccurate Dawes Roll to say whom is or isn’t descended from one of the Cherokees listed on the Roll in the 1890s. Given that some 250,000 applied then to be recognized as Cherokees but only 100,000 were recognized when the Roll was closed, including his own direct ancestor/s, Chuck has considerable power to deny the claims of others. Hardly surprising that he doesn’t want his scam upset by anyone using the far more accurate DNS testing to demonstrate their Cherokee heritage. He definitely wouldn’t like the conclusion of Warren’s DNA Report (my bolding):

Conclusion. While the vast majority of the individual’s ancestry is European, the results strongly support the existence of an unadmixed Native American ancestor in the individual’s pedigree, likely in the range of 6-10 generations ago.

There sort of a – what are they called? – a meme pushing itself forward about this announcement:

Clive Palmer’s fugitive nephew, Clive Mensink, who was the director of Queensland Nickel at the time of its collapse, has been appointed as European director of the Titanic II project.

Mr Mensink has been on an open-ended overseas trip since the collapse of the Townsville company in 2016 and has failed to show up at appearances in court.

QN’s liquidators have sought to have Mr Mensink appear before the court to answer questions about the management of the company prior to its collapse.

Mr Palmer today announced his nephew would be appointed in the role of European director of Blue Star Line – a subsidiary of flagship mining company Mineralogy – which is heading the bid to make a replica of the Titanic.

“Based in Blue Star Line’s London office, Mr Mensink will be responsible for commercial negotiations, recruitment and training for Titanic II which will be put into service on the London to New York route across the Atlantic,” the company announced in a media release.

The Titanic II proposal was raised in 2012 but was suspended in 2015 due to financial issues.

But last month Mr Palmer said the project would go ahead after cash flow issues had been resolved.

The 56,000 tonne ship would have room for 2400 passengers and would be a replica of the liner that sank on its maiden voyage in 2012.

The press release for today’s announcement raised about Mr Mensink’s record as managing director of QN and described him as offering “extensive experience directing major projects”.

“He was involved in the inaugural wave testing of Titanic II when the concept was first launched in 2012,” the statement said.

“As managing director of Queensland Nickel, he increased cost efficiencies by 50 per cent after taking over from BHP in 2009, preserving the livelihoods of thousands of workers up to 2015.

About 800 workers lost their jobs when QN collapsed in 2016.

“Mr Mensink is the perfect candidate to deliver a world class experience with Titanic II,’’ Mr Palmer said.

“Backed by the extensive resources, he has my full endorsement to bring this unique project to fruition, generating unprecedented international exposure and public interest.”

The media release said Mr Mensink had not returned to Australia to face court, as requested by the liquidators, “due to a refusal by the special purpose liquidators to meet his travel expenses”.

Earlier this year, Mr Mensink’s lawyer said he had never actually spoken to his client and had used Mr Palmer as a “conduit” between himself and Mr Mensink.

“He has always been available for any actions required by the liquidators. They have always known where he is,’’ Mr Palmer said.

“I caught up with Mr Mensink in Bulgaria recently and he is most excited about this opportunity.

“He shares Blue Star Line’s passion for recreating the ship of dreams as a symbol of love and peace in the world, playing to the Jack and Rose in all of us.”

    2. How did it all begin? ‘In a hot Big Bang.’

    3. Is there other intelligent life in the Universe? ‘There are forms of intelligent life out there. We need to be wary of answering back until we have developed a bit further.’

    4. Can we predict the future? ‘No and yes. In principal the laws allow us to predict the future but in practice it is too difficult.’

    5. What is inside a Black Hole? ‘Falling into a black hole is definitely bad news. If it were a stellar mass black hole your would be made into spaghetti before reaching the horizon’

    Breaking at Breitbart …

    Lol. BIG LOL. ROFL.

Elizabeth Warren Ancestor Rounded Up Cherokees For Trail of Tears.

But the most stunning discovery about the life of O.C. Sarah Smith Crawford is that her husband, Ms. Warren’s great-great-great grandfather, was apparently a member of the Tennessee Militia who rounded up Cherokees from their family homes in the Southeastern United States and herded them into government-built stockades in what was then called Ross’s Landing (now Chattanooga), Tennessee–the point of origin for the horrific Trail of Tears, which began in January, 1837.

God, C.L., stop it. All this laughter is making my sides hurt.

This new information about Ms. Warren’s true heritage came as a direct result of a lead provided to me by William Jacobson over at Legal Insurrection, who in turn had received the information from one of his readers. Jacobson, who has questioned Warren’s explanation for her law faculty listing, calls this discovery “the ultimate and cruelest irony” of the Warren Cherokee saga.

    Sigh … giggle … sigh … deep breath …

“great-great-great grandfather”. That’s 5 generations (let’s ignore how far out on the fringes of the genealogy chart that is). A generation is, on average, 25 years. So, that’s 125 years ago ie. the 1890s.

For what Not so Bright Bart’s writer has inferred to be true in 1837, Elizabeth’s dear great-great-great grand-daddy would have been one of those zygotes that DB and Beaugan have been arguing about. Don’t think there’d have been any of them riding herd on the Cherokees at Ross’s Landing.

Gang of youths bash Melbourne man, steal his car

A Melbourne man has described how a gang of youths of African appearance bashed him in his own home with a mic stand, and then stole his car when he was in hospital.

David McGregor told The Australian today that he was terrified as he was held to the ground, kicked in the face, and hit in the back of the head with a mic stand.

He answered a knock on the door at about 10:30pm last night and found two youths, who came into the house. More youths then followed.

“All they shouted was ‘Where’s the money? Where’s the money? Where’s the money?’” He said.

“They pinned me down on the ground in the living room … copped a kick in the face. Then they hit me on the head with the mic stand they took off with my DJ equipment. There was blood everywhere.

“One of them yelled ‘Got the money’ and they all raced out the door … it was all over in ten minutes.”

Mr McGregor said all eight of the men were of African appearance. But said he felt “sorry” for his attackers.

“I feel sorry for them … they’re traumatised by what happens over there (in Africa),” he said.

“But I’m also really angry. This is not the Aussie way.”

The men left the former DJ’s property with cash and the keys to Mr McGregor’s car.

When Mr McGregor was taken to hospital with concussion, one of the assailants allegedly returned and stole his Red Commodore.

His friends Steve Powell and Brett Tinkler came to his rescue and then stayed at the house overnight.

“I was looking out, it was around 2.45am,” Mr Powell said.

“I saw this dark figure around the back of the car and then they hopped in and drove off.

“We called triple-0 right away to say someone’s gone off with the car.

“I’m still shaking. I’ve known David for around 20 years. It’s unbelievable.”

The car was later seen in the Stonnington area around 5.30am this morning.

“The victim told investigators that the men were aged in their mid to late teens and perceived to be of African appearance,” Police said.

Meanwhile, a woman in Dandenong is in hospital after she awoke to find three men holding a knife to her throat.

“The woman was assaulted and threatened with a knife before the offenders demanded she hand over cash and jewellery,” Victoria Police said.

The three men are said to be of African appearance, Maori appearance and caucasian appearance respectively.

“The victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. All three left on foot in an unknown direction,” a police spokeswoman said.

The car industry in Europe has to get its shit together. There is a huge amount of damage being inflicted on them to quiet the Greenies. The diesel emission standards are just another hammer to belt them on the head, and their attempts to alleviate the pain by faking the standards are worse than useless.

I think you are right BoN. Lithium is not particularly scarce. There might be some merit in Si-leach process for some deposits. Even at reduced prices for batteries, the storage business is not going to be the panacea it is projected to be. I think this because the scaling of the manufacture is complex. Battery life is problematic, even if they reuse automotive ones for static storage before recycling. These contrived ideas are not easily put into practice. These batteries are a bonus for small energy applications.

That’s encouraging, Peter. I realisef just how deeply in trouble we are when a small business man I know here who was rusted on Liberal, and I mean so rusted on he really didn’t care about their policies he just always voted Liberal, anyway I ran into him again the other week and he just said he given up, after 40 years he was just not going to vote Liberal anymore. Now he’s a sensible man and there’s no way he would park his vote with the lefties so he’s going informal. I suggested to him that he should consider the conservatives at in the Senate as a brake on all the lunacy even though that’s really going to be a long-term proposition. I suspect that there is a big block like that out there which is planning to vote informal who should be specifically targetted and encouraged not to waste their vote.

Lets not forget Faxahontas also went out of her way to submit “traditional” recipes for a book called “Pow Wow Chow”

    Here it is.

And apparently the French copied them off the indians before Faxahontas copied the French chefs ones., or something.

The credibility of Massachusetts Democratic Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren took another hit today as Boston radio talk show host Howie Carr released evidence that appears to confirm Ms. Warren may have plagiarized at least three of the five recipes she submitted to the 1984 Pow Wow Chow cookbook edited by her cousin Candy Rowsey.
Two of the possibly plagiarized recipes, said in the Pow Wow Chow cookbook to have been passed down through generations of Oklahoma Native American members of the Cherokee tribe, are described in a NewYork Times News Service story as originating at Le Pavilion, a fabulously expensive French restaurant in Manhattan. The dishes were said to be particular favorites of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor and Cole Porter.

The two recipes, “Cold Omelets with Crab Meat” and “Crab with Tomato Mayonnaise Dressing,” appear in an article titled “Cold Omelets with Crab Meat,” written by Pierre Franey of the New York Times News Service that was published in the August 22, 1979 edition of the Virgin Islands Daily News, a copy of which can be seen here.

Ms. Warren’s 1984 recipe for Crab with Tomato Mayonnaise Dressing is a word-for-word copy of Mr. Franey’s 1979 recipe.

Gang of youths bash Melbourne man, steal his car

A Melbourne man has described how a gang of youths of African appearance bashed him in his own home with a microphone stand, and then stole his car when he was in hospital.

David McGregor told The Australian today that he was terrified as he was held to the ground, kicked in the face, and hit in the back of the head with a microphone stand.

Then they hit me on the head with the microphone stand they took off with my DJ equipment.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000

It was very exciting to read Bee Wilson’s article in the Guardian (Food is a great source of pleasure. Forget that, and we’re doomed to eat badly, 15 October).” As a newlywed I thought having to cook every day was akin to a “life sentence” until I learned about the benefits of a vegan diet and a whole new world of taste sensations opened up, without having to use animal products. The internet has a huge array of easy, inexpensive vegan recipes from Indian, to Chinese, Mexican, and Italian, and the list of delights goes on. I went on to teach vegan cooking and had fun showing people how to live healthily without harming any living being.

The VW Engineers who designed and ran that scam to bypass Enviroweenie emissions standards should be given a medal for innovation and initiative and put in charge of the entire EU automotive industry.

As far as I’m concerned it never was a scam and they shouldn’t have admitted guilt.

They were asked to pass a test, and they passed the test… simple as that. If you drive your VW exactly the same as the dyno test (hint: nobody ever does) then you get the same results. These tests have always been garbage but you can’t blame VW for that.

Charles Goode flays ‘flawed and unfair’ ALP franking credits plan

Liberal Party stalwart and one of Australia’s most respected chairmen and leading corporate directors, former ANZ and Woodside Petroleum chair Charles Goode, has savaged the ALP’s policy on franking credits arguing it was a “flawed and unfair” policy that would hurt self-funded retirees.

He also said it was tougher in the current climate to find good growth and dividend paying stocks on the local market, with the listed investment company he chairs, Diversified United Investment, putting money into overseas funds.

Earlier this year Mr Shorten unveiled his franking credits policy to claw back nearly $60 billion over 10 years by abolishing cash refunds for excess dividend imputation credits.

Later the ALP amended the policy to exempt full and part-time pensioners. The alterations also exempt pensioner recipients from self-managed superannuation funds.

Addressing shareholders at the billion dollar listed investment company Diversified United Investment in Melbourne this morning, Mr Goode said the federal Opposition’s policy would place even more of a financial burden on government pension costs and that the nation’s $40bn LIC sector would lobby against the policy.

Mr Goode told shareholders at the DUI annual general meeting that the franking credit policy was flawed for a number of reasons.

“Your Board is deeply concerned about the ALP’s proposal to deny franking credit refunds to low tax rate individuals and superannuation funds,” Mr Goode told shareholders.

“The effects of the policy would be to reduce the retirement incomes of around 1 million Australian who have saved prudently for a self-sufficient retirement.

“Reduce the initiative for Australians to save for their own retirement and increase the numbers applying for a government pension, increasing taxpayer burden.”

Mr Goode said the planned ALP policy on franking credits would also distort the system.

“Distort the dividend imputation system unfairly as many high tax payers and those in large superannuation funds would be able to offset franking credits against other tax but for low tax payers the franking credit would increase their effective tax rate on dividend income.”

Mr Goode also said it would unfairly disadvantage SMSF retirees or those that own shares directly compared to retirees in industry and retail super funds or public sector retirees.

The policy could also starve Australian listed companies of much needed capital.

“(It would) Weaken the supply of capital available to Australian companies as investors move away from Australian listed shares to other asset classes such as foreign shares.”

Other LICs would work to argue against the ALP policy.

“This is a flawed and unfair policy which will retrospectively hurt older self-funded retirees, increase the Government pension burden, and discourage Australians to save for a self-sufficient retirement; and will not raise the forecasted revenue.

The Australian Listed Investment Companies Association will be making a submission to the Commonwealth Standing Committee on Economics.”

Mr Goode said DUI was finding it increasingly hard to find value in local dividend paying shares and companies with good growth prospects with the LIC investing available funds in overseas shares.

As a resident of that God forsaken Hell Hole frolic I can tell you no one here is ok. In fact I’m surprised that there are any Newlyweds here because the rite of passage is that you move interstate or overseas once you finish school or tertiary education. I have also told all my pallbearers that if they vote green, oh shut up with a vegan or drive anything less than an 8 cylinder monster that spits out whole blocks of charcoal, they will be the rest of any inheritance.
I did have one stray knock on the door the other day trying to sell us solar panels and I kindly informed him that if he wants to spend his life working s*** jobs like wondering door-to-door he should go and try self his future to somebody else. This is a lovely place to live if you are financially independent, healthy, and can tolerate a high level of tweeness, football, Indians, and very dull dinner conversations. But I tell every young person I come across to get the hell out of here as fast as they can.

VW CEO was a pussy who destroyed tens of billions in shareholder value. The cars passed the test which is what they were required to do. What do you expect the engineers to do?
I remember back in the late 70s Chrysler built a “lean burn” Valiant. The control unit leaned the engine when under constant low load such as cruising on the highway at 80 to 100kph to minimise fuel consumption. I doubt the VW engine controller did much different in principle. He should have told the politicians to go to hell and if they wanted a different test, to provide one.

    Trump is god.

Lefties actually think Warrens test results are a good thing which prove her claims…

Elizabeth Warren’s DNA release proves it: she’s running for president
Pundits say the senator’s revelation of her ancestry – a rebuke to Trump – is a sure sign of her 2020 plans

Instead, the release was a direct rebuke to Donald Trump, who has made a habit of mocking her claims of Native American ancestry by referring to her by the racist moniker “Pocahontas”. Warren’s move is a clear gambit to get out in front of a controversy that has dogged her political career and could be a big stumbling block in the future.

David Axelrod, a top adviser in Barack Obama’s campaigns and administration, called the ad “extraordinary” and said it meant Warren was “100% running” for president in 2020.

The New York Times political correspondent Jonathan Martin said on Twitter: “It’s not ‘I’m running’, it’s ‘I’m running and won’t be swift-boated’,” referring to the discredited ads questioning John Kerry’s military service that ran during the 2004 presidential election. “Swift-boating” subsequently entered the American political lexicon as a term for a campaign of disingenuous or false attacks on a candidate’s background.

The analysis, conducted by the respected geneticist Carlos Bustamante, found with high confidence that Warren had a Native American relative six to 10 generations back, which, as the Boston Globe calculated, would mean her DNA registered somewhere between 1/32nd and 1/1024th Native American.

Is Trump god, or just the luckiest man alive who is blessed with opponents who contain multitudes in their ignorance?
