Just watched the Melbourne video. Good to see two men trying to help, one with a shopping trolley and other with a circular object.

    Yep. Good stuff.

  2. Nick

How many ‘extreme right’ members will Vicpol announce have been arrested in retaliation?

  3. Rae

    David hogg
The deputy who didn’t go in
    The stinking sheriff scott Israel.

Lol, it’s a good line up.
    Shame Dexter isn’t a real dude…

Dexter is a pretend dude in Miami. Not in Broward County.

  4. Nick

Just watched the Melbourne video. Good to see two men trying to help, one with a shopping trolley and other with a circular object.

That guy was more effective than the battle dress clad lezzo cowering

  5. A small number of people are being treated for stab wounds,” the statement said.

Ambulance Victoria said it assessed three people at the scene and one person was taken to hospital with neck injury, they are in a suspected critical condition.

ONLY a small number people does not make it ok.

  6. Tailgunner

Oh FFS. “No known link to terrorism, we’re keeping an open mind”
    Says VicPol guy.

  7. The ABC are disgusting!
Raph Epstein has a running commentary with one of his guests saying how lucky we are that we to have our gun laws, unlike the US and don’t have semi automatic weapons when people have mental breakdowns like this.
Epstein’s response to this irrelevant and unfactual statement? ” Good point.”
    Fwit.

  8. Ƶĩppʯ (ȊꞪꞨV)

I think a lot has happened beforehand, but in that video it takes the (female?) officer four seconds to draw and another 11 seconds to shoot. In the meantime the Mohammedan has taken three swings at her partner with a knife.

looks like a taser, what is wrong with these cops, shoot to kill for god’s sake.

  9. JC

Dexter is a pretend dude in Miami. Not in Broward County.

    You modeled yourself on him?

  10. areff

One dead — likely the “elderly man” witnesses said was bleeding all over the place.

  11. Nick

Has bleating about a backlash started yet ?

  12. woolfe

Good video on twitter but stupid cop did not double tap.

  13. Makka

That dude actually looks African to me, Somali possibly. A loud explosion heard before the fire started could mean a dudded car bomb . The fire is coming from inside the the vehicle

  14. jupes

    Definitely a shot …

Yeah but in that longer video it shows that they don’t shoot the prick until the 45 second mark.

FMD they didn’t even draw their guns until over half a minute and at least half a dozen swings of the knife.

What is wrong with cops these days?

  15. Nick

One dead — likely the “elderly man” witnesses said was bleeding all over the place.

Meh, he was old and white, as well as male. He won’t get the obligatory pile of flowers, candles, teddy bears and statements by Clam Ford’s friends that all of Allah’h Special friends are dangerous.

  16. Mother Lode

Attacker of dusky hue and wearing a mid-thigh length smockish-type garment.

A typical Paki type outfit. Beard?

It is uncanny how people are able to work that out: considering he trimmed his beard so it wouldn’t look like that long sooty birdnest thing most of them have going.

He thought that wearing his shapeless smock and sandals, wielding a curved knife and hollering “Allahu Akhbar” but with a trimmed beard would throw people off.

Perhaps they would mistake him for an accountant. Or one of those spawn of pigs and monkeys.

  17. Zulu Kilo Two Alpha

Has bleating about a backlash started yet ?

Sometime in the next twenty minutes or so.

  18. Disgraceful behaviour by vicpol.

Rule 1. Remove the risk to the public. i.e. protect (seems that haven’t taken the lesson from the last car attack).

  19. JC

We discussed this at the time, rambler. It’s not that easy for cops to use weapons in crowded streets. That’s a crowded corner.

  20. Infidel Tiger

5 years ago the Melbourne attack would have shocked me.

Now it registers no more than a car accident.

  21. According to bystanders, they were yelling at the police to “Just shoot him.”

  22. Infidel Tiger

City events are beginning to be cancelled including the opening of the Myer Christmas Windows that families were expecting to see unveiled at 6:30pm.

Christmas cancelled due to Muslim madman.

    The perfect story.

City events are beginning to be cancelled including the opening of the Myer Christmas Windows that families were expecting to see unveiled at 6:30pm.

  24. Infidel Tiger

According to bystanders, they were yelling at the police to “Just shoot him.”

As we are learning, the thin blue line is not for our protection.

  25. Zulu Kilo Two Alpha

Yeah but in that longer video it shows that they don’t shoot the prick until the 45 second mark.

Breaking news in the Oz has him in a “critical condition.” Sorry ’bout that.

  26. jupes

It’s not that easy for cops to use weapons in crowded streets. That’s a crowded corner.

They had plenty of opportunities to shoot the prick from as close as one meter. There was no risk to the public and as it turned out they only fired one shot from a meter away.

They could have done the same thing 45 seconds earlier.

  27. It’s not that easy for cops to use weapons in crowded streets.

In that case give them frangible projectiles.
Fired from 1 metre you aint gunna miss.

  28. zyconoclast

Chris Christie being considered to replace Sessions as attorney general

    I hope not.
If this information is accurate he seems to be soft on immigration verging on open borders loon.

    Chris Christie on Immigration
-Ban radical Islamic jihadists, not all Muslims
-Secure border with wall & electronics; but no mass deporting
-Use modern technology to track illegal immigrants
-E-verify instead of building a physical wall
-Increase electronic border surveillance and create E-Verify
-No pathway to citizenship, but college tuition for illegals
-2010: supported path to citizenship; 2013: backed away
-I favor fixing a broken system
-Path to citizenship in context of fixing broken system
-I’ve never been opposed to tuition equality for illegals

  29. Makka

City events are beginning to be cancelled including the opening of the Myer Christmas Windows that families were expecting to see unveiled at 6:30pm.

Utterly disgusting response. Those windows should open even if they have to put SASR on the streets.

Good news for Dan though, get’s his corrupt little regime off the front pages.

  30. Rae

Expect him to be appointed by Shorten to a plum ambassadorship or a very well paid pozzie in an Industry Super Fund or a statuary authority

Feet of clay BoN. Well done.

  31. jupes

The ABC are straight onto the critical bit:

Police said there was no known link to terrorism.

    Of course not.

  32. Delta A

According to bystanders, they were yelling at the police to “Just shoot him.”

    Be fair, Gez.

The cops were trying to maintain Vic’s “No crime/no Muzzie problem, no PoAA problem, Nothing to See Here… BTW you’re illegally parked! You privileged white male troublemaker. See you in court!”

Oops! Another knifing. A white troublemaker dead.

    Nothing to see here!

Gone are the days when VicPol would slot someone for shoplifting.

  34. JC

    Jupes

Do you know if bullets cops use can blast through a target and possibly hit someone else? If so, there are also lots of shop windows in the area too.
Judging from the vid, the cops had managed to get the piece of shit to focus on them rather than any bystander. This to me looks like a good move by the cops. When it appeared nothing else would work, they put a hole in him. It looked like they tried to taser him, but may not have worked.

The problem in a crowded area is a stray bullet, I’d think,.

  35. Tintarella di Luna

Good heavens, if travelling interstate to Melbourne you may not make it back alive.

  36. Mother Lode

One officer (female?) keeps her distance while colleague attacked

Just putting it out there, is there a possibility that the idea of one officer hanging back is for the one who moves closer to lure the Mo-bro to where a shot might be made more safely? And, yes, the male is the one readier to go into the more dangerous situation nearer the shithead.

The other you notice is just how wildly he swings, waving his arms around in long arcs with little accuracy.

These fuckers are more enraged than strategic.

  37. Tom

I think Dickhead Dan just lost the November 24 election.

  38. Police said there was no known link to terrorism.

Did they ask anybody who was there if they experienced terror?

Terror Australis – get used to it.
    Thanks Dan.

  39. Andreas

Police said there was no known link to terrorism.

Then why are they cancelling city events?

  40. Bruce of Newcastle

Look, criticism of the cops is fair when it’s warranted, such putting out the bullshit there’s no known link to terrorism. But it looks to me like those cops on the ground handled it well. They confronted him at close range to get him to focus on them and avoided shooting up the area until they realized it was the only option. They did good work.

Four Corners on Monday … LOL.

  44. Gone are the days when VicPol would slot someone for shoplifting.

However, if you’re an older white male smoking a cigarette in the wrong place, you run the risk of being gunned down by an entire SWAT team.

Why Australia needs to be a renewable energy superpower

This isn’t a pipe dream. Australia is blessed with abundant renewable resources. We have huge open spaces drenched in sun and vast expanses of coastline exposed to powerful winds. If you landed on this planet tomorrow and needed to generate solar and wind power, you’d choose Australia. And you’d be spoilt with choice from sunburnt Western Australia to the windy Great Australian Bight.

The problem in a crowded area is a stray bullet, I’d think,.

The NSW regular cops pack hollow points which would not be allowed if the Army wanted to use them. Long ago the cops had the steel jackets but they gave them up because of the reason you mentioned. Might have been a specific incident but I don’t know it.

Vaguely remember other police forces coming to the same conclusion.

  51. The older male cop tasered the guy, which didn’t work, and the the female cop shot him as he continued his attack. She did the right thing, good on her.
They seem to have followed rules to the letter but found the limitations of a taser on a large man moving around.
Both behaved bravely in my opinion. The cops don’t have the on the spot decision making skills that lawyers possess in hindsight.

Do you know if bullets cops use can blast through a target and possibly hit someone else?

The specialist cops in NSW use FMJ 223 ammo which is why they shot themselves at the Lindt Café; the 30 odd bullets the idiots fired killed the muslim, a hostage and wounded several others including a few idiot cops.

I don’t know if normal cops use the hollow points which tend to explode in a body and not go straight through to ricochet around.. But at 2 meters even a hollow point from a 40 calibre Glock will still go through; it’ll just leave a bigger exit wound.

  69. Those whom Rae agrees with; take note, you are wrong.

He’s driving in from Miami-Dade. Don’t think he has jurisdiction in Melbourne.

Trump administration moves to curb migrants’ asylum claims

The Trump administration unveiled new rules on Thursday to sharply limit migrant asylum claims by barring individuals who cross the U.S. southern border illegally from seeking asylum.

The regulations released on Thursday, in conjunction with an order expected to be signed by President Donald Trump, would effectively ban migrants who cross the U.S. border with Mexico illegally from qualifying for asylum.

Good on those men who went in to help the cops.
A shopping trolley and a rubber weight are poor weapons but the blokes behind them are gutsy.

  76. C.L.

The situational line of sight for those police officers was superior when he was parallel to the shop-fronts and inferior when he was across the street. He should have been shot in the first location as soon as he produced and swung the knife. As always, good luck or no, women have no role to play in such situations. Why? Because they were initially trying to effect a physical arrest – which a woman is more or less incapable of doing. If there wasn’t a female police officer there to protect, three male officers could have tackled and dealt with him (if that’s what they preferred to do – which, as I said, they initially did).

  77. jupes

Do you know if bullets cops use can blast through a target and possibly hit someone else?

Dunno what rounds they use but it probably would exit.

Judging from the vid, the cops had managed to get the piece of shit to focus on them rather than any bystander. This to me looks like a good move by the cops.

    Sure.

When it appeared nothing else would work, they put a hole in him.

Yes but they should have put a hole in him a lot earlier. The prick was swinging his knife at one of them and neither had their pistol drawn. If the Mohammedan was competent with the knife at least one cop would be dead. If he killed both then he would be free to attack more civilians.

The problem in a crowded area is a stray bullet, I’d think,.

Sure that’s a problem but the terrorist is a bigger problem. With a knife he is dangerous, but who’s to know that he hasn’t other weapons or an explosive vest? I reckon the procedure should be that once they identify a terrorist in attack mode then they should kill the prick asap.

It seems to have completely escaped the ABC that David Elliott’s exposure of the assault, and the undoing of the alleged perpetrator Foley, may end up deterring untold numbers of such sexual assaults, especially by Labor politicians who have probably thought themselves as immune from exposure (especially from the media) until Elliott spilled the beans in this fashion.

    JC,
They use hollow points for operational ammo.
    Ball rounds for range practice.

Any exiting material would comprise more meat and bone than lead. The bullet would’ve been massively slowed, deformed and unstable. The penetration potential of such a bullet is severely reduced after going through the centre of mass so, although a risk still exists, it is negligible in comparison to the original threat…unless the cop misses.

Bourke St horror: One murdered, police shoot armed attacker dead in terror attack
Stephen Drill, Aneeka Simonis, Ryan Tennison and Josh Fagan, Herald Sun
    9 minutes ago
    Subscriber only

A MAN known to ASIO has been shot dead in a terror attack in Bourke St after a series of explosions rocked the Melbourne CBD this afternoon.

He stabbed a person to death before being shot while attacking police.

The Herald Sun can reveal the man’s links to known convicted terror plotters are being investigated.

The suspect was shot by police and has since died. He was believed to be of Somalian background.

Police are not looking for any other offenders.

Witnesses say police chased a man carrying a weapon about 4.30pm following a crash that saw a car burst into flames outside Target near the corner of Bourke and Swanston streets.

A source close to police said there were a number of gas cylinders in the exploded car.

One witness said two officers tried to apprehend the man, he produced a knife and tried to “stab them.”

The witness said: “The cops were backing off but he kept coming at them”.

No police were injured in the attack.

Police say there are no known links to terrorism, but they are keeping an open mind.

The cylinders were rendered safe by the bomb squad several hours after the attack.

    “Good riddance” says I.

The biggest problem for ASIO and the AFP is there are so many of these fanatical religious bastards. And yes, they are all “known” to the federal agencies. But the law enforcement agencies are never going to get the manpower needed to police the pricks. Not for as long as the government keeps insisting that each individual event is an “isolated incident”.

    Recent techniques[edit]
A subset of cryotherapy involves cold water immersion or ice baths, used by physical therapists, sports medicine facilities and rehab clinics. Proponents assert that it results in improved return of blood flow and byproducts of cellular breakdown to the lymphatic system and more efficient recycling.[64]
Alternating the temperatures, either in a shower or complementary tanks, combines the use of hot and cold in the same session. Proponents claim improvement in circulatory system and lymphatic drainage.[65] Experimental evidence suggests that contrast hydrotherapy helps to reduce injury in the acute stages by stimulating blood flow and reducing swelling.[66]

    Laura Geitz’s Firebirds uniform
Items related to Brisbane Expo 1988
A pennant presented to best float, representing Sicilian Australians, in a 1978 Grape festival in Stanthorpe.

They sort of get set into a concrete block, such that after 15 minutes of gentle manipulation, which feels marvellous, you can really loosen up those bones and tendons and tiny muscles, and get the blood flowing in again, huge tension release which also affects gait to a certain extent (though hips do more). For your Achilles problem, good calf muscle massage can help – aiming for elongation.

Arky, did the physio you saw measure your leg length and hip height and all that stuff ? Your gait probably begins at the hips. I was a massage therapist (trained in the US), so I am curious. Feet are pretty much treated like a block of wood by most people, but they are better off being soft and flexible, all those tiny bones and tendons connected together love a good massage. Any massage that elongates the calves helps reduce tension on the Achilles.

Only Victoria could produce regular muslim terror attacks, african warlordism and m0nty.

It’s nothing a few more bollards can’t fix.

Premier Dan Bollard or Chief Commissioner Graham Bollard?

To think James Packer gave this up.

I didn’t know James Packer and Sarah Hanson Young had ever been an item?

How many people are now dead thanks to the incompetent clown show that is ASIO?
Just heard somebody on the radio news say ASIO is now looking into today’s events.
It’s a bit late now, dummies.

When terrorism is involved it is a federal responsibility. Where is ScoMo?

    On a completely different subject:

    A) Australia finally won a cricket match!
    B) Foxtel’s coverage is terrific.

    Autocorrect again?
    Surely you meant “croquet match”?

Zulu Kilo Two Alpha, I am reading Aces and Kings at the moment. It is about the Australian Flying Corps in the Middle East during WW1. Interesting reading.

SMH Aug 2, 2018 – Security agency ASIO has confirmed it is watching fewer young Australian jihadists. But it is seeing a rise in right-wing ideologies.

Right. So Muslim attacks are the fault of white men. It’s all so obvious.

  219. C.L.

    Where is ScoMo?

According to The Australian today, he’s “on his knees” and “crying” about Burmese Muslims.

Gotta love government. Don’t you dare speed 3 kms over the limit or water your garden on the wrong day.

I was breathalyzed at 1.00 pm today. That’s not even after lunch. What tiny fraction of a fraction of the population would be pissed at that hour. It’s mind boggling just how wasteful and dumb government can be. Never disappoints.

Quiz time! Only one of the statements below are true. Which one is it?

    1. The ABC finds a link between mass shootings in the US and a certain demographic:

While 14 percent of the adult male population of the United States are military veterans, around a third of the perpetrators of mass gun attacks have previously served their country. The reasons are no doubt complex, but there are clear links between military service and mass violence.

    2. The ABC finds a link between terrorist attacks in Australia and a certain demographic:

While 2 percent of the adult male population of Australia are Muslim, 100% of the perpetrators of terrorist attacks pray to Allah. The reasons are no doubt complex, but there are clear links between Islam and mass violence.

  222. jupes

BTW I seriously doubt the ABC’s stats regarding mass shooting and military service.

    Zulu,
One image shows a white guy on Labor Day 1966 marching with a large banner which says :
    No apartheid for our Aborigines
Given them full citizenship and education.

I forgot to mention another “protest” image was a cartoon of Joh Bielke Petersen with the red no sign superimposed over his image. It was from the No Joh Campaign and produced by the Mike Carlton Media Conglomorate out of Sydney.

She’s still pretty saucy. Crazy as all get out too.

She was a sex on legs on her twenties.

Woops! I gave the answer …

  226. Elizabeth (Lizzie) B.

Arky, I watched your video with interest and think I learned a few things without having to make an effort to do so. Well done. I am going to another dance class tomorrow morning, having only done one in the last three weeks since we returned to Oz. We walked a lot on our trip, sightseeing etc. and my feet have been sore in the metatarsals (high heels for years will screw these badly; now I wear flat shoes for walking). I am going to try your hot and cold water trick at 7am tomorrow to see if it helps. It usually clears up once I get back into the swing of dancing again.

In case your trick doesn’t work for me, I have a fall back for it. Hairy also suffer from sore achilles tendons – he does physio exercise for them, involving leaning forward into a wall and pressing his feet backwards and to the floor as hard as he can. I’ll explain the science of the water trick to him. At least with his foot in a bucket he can talk to me. Hard to do when he is facing a wall. 🙂

I walk around our local area and quite a few people run there too. Try running somewhere where there is something other than nature to look at; nature can get boring, as it’s very repetitive, trees, grass, water, trees, grass, water, trees .. you get my drift. In contrast, I find houses, gardens, people, cars, street signs, oddities etc great fun and can amuse me constantly when I go walking. Even on the same route, every day there is something new going on, tradies and dogs to greet, cats to admire, house for sale, who’s renovating, Council’s filled that pothole at last etc. etc.

  227. Zulu Kilo Two Alpha

That looks interesting, Beery. I’ll bag a copy, thank you.

Jupes, could it possibly be, surely not, but just in case, option 2.

  229. Elizabeth (Lizzie) B.

ps Hairy walks at times like a duck, feet out. I will tell him this is bad for his achilles. I am sure he will not be offended. Well, almost sure. No-one likes to be compared to a duck. I will do it tactfully. Somehow.

He should be so grateful to have a wife like me who gathers handy hints for his health. 😀

  230. jupes

Jupes, could it possibly be, surely not, but just in case, option 2

    Crossie you must try harder.

  231. Death Giraffe

he does physio exercise for them, involving leaning forward into a wall and pressing his feet backwards and to the floor as hard as he can.

    ..
That is basically a stretching exercise.
My theory is once those achilles are inflamed, stretching only makes ’em worse.
The time to stretch is before you get injured.
Hairy should ask his physio to show him how to massage the calf to stretch the calf muscle, relieve the strain on the achilles without pulling and stretching the tendon.
I shot a scene showing that for the video, but edited it out because it was boring.
Main thing is this: if he hasn’t got professional advice on it in the last few years, book in with both a physio and a podiatrist and get proper advice and orthotics.

I think people can be triggered to do terrible evil stuff. They can snap. If our culture clashes with other cultures then why mess things up further by bringing these people here? This begs the question.

The question that should be asked of leftoids when they accuse the rest of us of being racist etc. Why are these people brought in if it causes friction and dislike to the extent where individuals can be triggered to do unspeakable things?

  233. sdfc

    Foxtel’s coverage is terrific.

They need to get Michael Clark in.

  234. Infidel Tiger

    Michael Clarke?

No, the two chicks they already have are much better.
