The claim in the article of 100 milliseconds

No doubt due to ruinables, themselves.

Generally, yes. There is also a compounded problem when multiple responses of varying capabity address a frequency excursion. E.g. a 100kW battery trying to address a 1MW excursion at the same time as a GW power plant; this situation can cause “hunting”and prolong the situation in some conditions, often hard to predict under conditions of the physical grid. Problem solving by trial and error error.

The Tyrant for life of all the chicoms is using hysteria, superstition and corruption to destroy the rare earth’s business of LYC lynas.

Not just because it competes to supply raw materials in a market dominated by the peoples liberation army slave labour gulags, but because artifacts made from rare earth’s have strategic value.

What is the point of depending so utterly on strategic rare earth’s from the Tyrant that he can shut your economy down on a whim?.

How is it economically preferable to live a slave than to live free?.

Prosecutors, however, argued that Fields was angry that day over the fighting taking place between the two sides. Prosecutor Nina-Alice Antony pointed out that Fields, twice posted on Instagram before the rally an image of a group of people getting struck by a car.

“This case is about his decision to act on that anger,” Antony said.

Useful precedent to use against for those who post such images before going sudden jihadi with a car or truck. It will make the search for that ever elusive “cause” much easier to resolve.

Stern Hu: Jailed former Rio Tinto executive released from prison in China (July)

Australian former Rio Tinto mining executive Stern Hu has been released from a Chinese jail after nine years. … Mr Hu was Rio Tinto’s top iron ore negotiator in China during the mining boom, and was instrumental in locking in record prices for shipments to Chinese state steel mills.

It’s unlikely that Hu did anything illegal other than to be a senior Rio Tinto employee in their Shanghai office at a time when China wanted leverage over the Aussie iron ore producers.

The net effect was for Rio and BHP to pull all their people out of China.

SA’s big Tesla battery has already saved $40 million of its $66 million cost.

As others have noted, the profit was made in the FCAS market.

Five years ago, FCAS services were provided by the big rotating masses of the coal fired generators for a few cents (or nothing) per MW. Now, with the increased penetration of renewables, the FCAS market is out of control, costing as high as $5000/MW when things get wobbly in South Australia.

Rioting engulfs Paris, tax anger grows
By ELAINE GANLEY and JOHN LEICESTER, Reuters
    40 minutes ago

The rumble of armoured police trucks and the hiss of tear gas filled central Paris as French riot police fought to contain thousands of yellow-vested protesters venting their anger against the government in a movement that has grown more violent by the week.

A ring of steel surrounded the president’s Elysee Palace on Saturday – a key destination for the protesters – as police stationed trucks and reinforced metal barriers throughout the neighbourhood.

Stores along the elegant Champs-Elysees Avenue and the posh Avenue Montaigne boarded up their windows at the height of the holiday shopping season. Protesters ripped off the plywood protecting the windows and threw flares and other projectiles. French riot police repeatedly repelled them with tear gas and water cannon.

The yellow vest crowd was overwhelmingly male, a mix of those bringing their financial grievances to Paris – the centre of France’s government, economy and culture – along with groups of experienced vandals who tore steadily through some of the city’s wealthiest neighbourhoods, smashing and burning.

Police and protesters also clashed in other French cities, notably Marseille, Toulouse and Bordeaux, and in neighbouring Belgium. Some protesters took aim at the French border with Italy, creating a huge traffic backup near the town of Ventimiglia.

The French government’s plan was to prevent a repeat of the December 2 rioting that damaged the Arc de Triomphe, devastated central Paris and tarnished the country’s global image. It did not succeed and tear gas choked the Champs-Elysees Avenue by early evening.

Interior Minister Christophe Castaner said that 135 people had been injured and 974 taken into custody amid protests around the nation. Paris police headquarters counted 71 injuries in the capital, seven of them police officers.

An estimated 125,000 people demonstrated around France while 10,000 took their anger to the streets of Paris, double the number in the capital last week, the interior minister said. Toughening security tactics, French authorities deployed 8000 security officers in the capital alone, among the 89,000 who fanned out around the country.

All of the city’s top tourist attractions – including the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre museum – shut down for the day, fearing the kind of damage that hit the Arc de Triomphe a week ago. Christmas markets and football matches were cancelled. Subway stations in the city centre closed and the US embassy warned citizens to avoid all protest areas.

Amid the melee, President Emmanuel Macron remained invisible and silent, as he has for the four weeks of a movement that started as a protest against a gas tax hike and metamorphosed into a rebellion against high taxes and eroding living standards.

France’s yellow vest protesters have political stances ranging from the far right to the far left but the leaderless group is united in its sense that Macron and his government are out of touch.

Macron on Wednesday agreed to abandon the fuel tax hike, which aimed to wean France off fossil fuels and uphold the Paris climate agreement. Many economists and scientists say higher fuel taxes are essential to save the planet from worsening climate change, but that stance hasn’t defused the anger among France’s working class.

Late on Saturday, after announcing that the violence in Paris had been “contained,” Castaner, the interior minister, took a victory stroll down the Champs-Elysees.

A teenager has died from a suspected overdose and three more people are fighting for their lives after a drug-fuelled dance party in western Sydney.

Police say the 19-year-old man overdosed at the Knockout Games of Destiny Dance Party at Sydney Olympic Park last night before being transported to Concord Hospital where he died about 4.30am

Hundreds of MDMA capsules were seized, including 390 MDMA allegedly from an 18-year-old girl who has since been charged with supply prohibited drug.

Two 19-year-old women and a 25-year-old man were also taken to hospital following suspected drug overdoses where they remain in critical condition.

    Good Moaning.

The bloody Lawns in QLD need mowing every few hours in this weather.

Anyhow, a great show on outsiders this morning.
Since coming to the regional areas I’m wondering the influence and ratings.
It’s perfect for the politically naïve who could see something was very wrong but hadn’t quite worked out why yet.

It’s not perfect by a long shot, and very tribal Liberal party to a degree, but definitely I would say an absolute winner.
    The silent majority are seething.
    I know they are.
I travel this country extensively, and can assure anyone who doesn’t that it is Australia wide.
I’m surprised at how many people get straight onto talking politics these days.
Often quite simplistic, but angry enough not to be polite.
“The bloody greenies are ruining it for everyone”
“That Scot Morrison is a wanker”. “Economy doing well, pigs arse”
“They’re just in it for themselves”
    Etc etc.
“We’re being over – run by Mussies”
“who let the bastards in, in the first place?”
“There’s that much bloody red tape, who could be fucked?”

    And no prompting from me.
Now Outsiders are beaming out to regional areas, where there are still majorities of the forgotten Aussies, who mumble these things to each other, absolutely seething, they are starting to understand who is screwing them and why.
The one thing I know about Australians are that they are lethargic up until a point.
    And they are inventive.
    Surprisingly so.
And they are overwhelmingly conservative , 95% I would say, in their approach to nationhood , our borders, using our resources and getting the government off their backs.
Welfare etc are separate issues, but if Labor think their voters are going to vote to open our borders, they’ve got rocks in their heads.
Add to this what Trump has exposed, and shown what leaving the UN’s bullshit socialist world domination strategy behind can do, and the pressure is building.
Once the house prices drop, it will be on for young and old, literally.

Here’s a typical regional Aussie’s statement on things to me recently.
“I remember the bastards telling us to take shorter showers.
You don’t see those adds anymore now they are overloading us with mussies”

    These guys don’t follow politics.
I reckon Outsiders is a god send.

I see that ‘Monty derangement syndrome’ continues unabated at the Cat; almost 50% of posts on this page are by or about Monty. It is becoming extremely boring people. Just ignore him.

I’m getting utterly fed up with wading through shit, and have been slowly moving away to other sites.
Monty is a major problem for the cat, one it seems unaware of.

I am aware and I agree. What are we going to do about Monty?

  76. yackman

JC; when we were assessing locations around 2001, Park Orchards along with Kinglake was a location we rejected because of risk. Just interested in the comments on price given the other aspects.

  77. notafan

Park Orchards is a leafy near Donvale/ Warrandyte.

Lots of big blocks and cashed up tradesmen.

I’m surprised it’s considered an hour and a half from the CBD. It’s not that far from the eastern freeway.

  78. notafan

Monty is an insight into the left brain.

I find most of the responses to his idiocy informative.

The discussion regarding the Tesla battery this morning was excellent as was dots response re rape reportage.

I suppose the cat could have been discussing the Australiotrash wedding of the century.

  79. Snoopy

Monty is a treasure. Taking the ABC as a bench mark the Cat gets at least three billion dollars worth of idiocy every year for free.

Comey now has confirmed what Republican lawmakers like Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.), Sen. Charles Grassley (R-Iowa), Rep. Mark Meadows(R-N.C.), and Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) have warned about for months – that the FBI used an unverified dossier, paid for by presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and the Democratic Party as political opposition research, to justify spying on the duly nominated GOP candidate for president just weeks before Election Day.

There’s been a lot of conjecture but this is the first time I’ve seen testimony recorded (from Comey no less) that the FISA court has been misled. It will be interesting to see what Whittaker does with this. Comey maybe running for cover here and putting Lynch in the frame.

Every once in a while a story slips through that illustrates what really goes on in Asia:

Tens of thousands of Malaysian Muslims have rallied in Kuala Lumpur against any attempt to strip the ethnic Malay majority of its privileges.

The rally, backed by the country’s two largest opposition Malay parties, was initially aimed at protesting a government plan to ratify a UN treaty against racial discrimination.

I work for a large corporation and our group had our Christmas party and drinks last Thursday night. Two months ago we employed a vacuous bubblehead….female of course…..a bubblehead that is earning a lot of money. Anyway, she was babbling along on Thursday night and she said…and I kid you not….that she felt guilty about turning on the electricity in her home! I nearly fell over in my chair and I asked her why? Her reply was…..and I kid you not…”because coal was evil”. I couldn’t believe it. I burst out laughing. I then asked her, if she was so concerned about carbon emissions, then why did she travel to NZ for a weekend wedding last week…..I stated that anyone who was genuinely concerned about carbon emissions wouldn’t indulge in such a carbon emitting act. She didn’t like very much and then said that obviously she and I had different politics….I said yes, my politics were obviously based on common sense.

Mosman High teacher sacked after students found sleeping in class
    Linda Silmalis, The Sunday Telegraph

An English teacher has been sacked after his students were discovered spending his lessons “asleep”, “on their phones” or with their “heads on their desks”.

Ruling Mosman High teacher Ian Greig’s teaching to be unsatisfactory, the Department of Education sacked Mr Greig, with the Industrial Relations Commission last week rejecting his unfair dismissal appeal.

The decision followed the department demoting Mr Greig from head teacher to classroom teacher at Monaro High School five years ago.

The Commission heard concerns about Mr Greig’s teaching were first raised in 2016 when the school’s head teacher of English, Peter Papilos, received an email from a concerned parent who was worried her Year 11 daughter was “not learning anything”.

The parent said her daughter was going so far as requesting notes from a student in a different English classes to ensure she would not fall behind.

While students liked Mr Greig, they noted how they were behind other English classes on subjects to be covered, with up to 30 minutes of one lesson “setting up his computer on the smart board”.

The student was moved from Mr Greig’s class to another English class, along with three other students who parents complained their children were falling behind in their studies.

The transfer requests led Mr Papilos to observe one of Mr Greig’s classes, only to find students “on their phones, asleep or with heads on their desks”.

Purchase parasitic worms. If you are having trouble with armadillos in your garden, spread parasitic worms in your garden or flower beds. Parasitic worms feed on many of the insects that armadillos eat. After the worms have stayed in your yard for a few days, armadillos will see that your yard is not a good food source and won’t come back.[

Less Chinese and Indians in our suburbs so they can have more Africans and muslim refugees in their suburbs seems to be the underlying reason for the article.

Both the mass immigration and refugee resettlement scams are very stupid, but the damage to the economy/country from the much larger mass immigration program is worse. We have distorted the economy and corrupted the banking system, higher education, the real estate sector, all the time while living standards have stagnated. Yet we can’t stop the scam because Treasury is terrified of a “technical recession” even though most people are living through a very real income recession going on six years now.

If we want to smash the Ponzi scheme and halve overall immigration, the price of creating a broader coalition is allying with a growing section of the Left that also want a restructure but are pro-refugee.

Why more men over 50 riding motorbikes are dying on our roads
    Lisa Mayoh, The Sunday Telegraph
    December 9, 2018 12:00am

MORE motorcyclists aged over 50 are dying on our roads than ever before, with new data obtained by The Sunday Telegraph highlighting the alarming danger.

Figures show that in the 10 years to 2017, deaths of over 50s on motorbikes jumped 31 per cent, with those seriously injured increasing 87 per cent. So far in 2018, 12 motorcyclists over 60 years have died — making up more than a quarter of all motorcycle deaths across the state.

The statistics, from Transport for NSW, also show males are most likely to get hurt — in the two years to 2017, some 86 per cent of fatalities were male, as were 88 per cent of those seriously injured.

Injuries are likely to occur because older riders are returning after a long time off — or are taking it up for the first time.

There are also more older riders on our roads today than ever before. In the five years from 2013 to 2017, registered riders over 50 increased 34 per cent — double the rate of total registered motorcyclists.

Some old broiler drank too much and kept trying to hug me.

    Funny story.

When I first started out playing music professionally I was 32, and still in me yoof.
Our band was very popular and as discussed here already, we used to get lots of groupies.
I didn’t touch any of them Notafan.

A few years later (after I left Alice Springs for a while) I returned and hooked up with another bloke and did gigs again.
I might have been around 40 then.
Ladies day at the Alice Springs races.
Lot’s of women in dresses, not a bloody lady to be seen.

Anyhow, women full of piss jump up on stage with you.
They consider it a right basically.

While I was singing, these hands started rubbing my body all over from behind.
Other young things were dancing on the stage, on the tables and going tits up over chairs.
The high heels were long gone……………
I thought to myself, ah this is a bit more like it.
A bit more like old times I thought, as I continued to play with these hands all over me.
I’ve still got it, I thought.
Until I looked around and seen this old toothless, leathery skinned nanna, who was actually smoking a rollie and had an akubra on, looking much like she’d come straight off the station, (she musta been with the horses) and a sleeveless hard yakka shirt on.
Actually now I look back, it’s not a funny story.
    It’s a frigging horror story.

Lefties are so terrified of saying one wrong thing and being cast out of the collective that they are now forced to defend the most looney stuff.

I don’t know what will crack them out of their illogical funk. Not devastation or poverty, since the lefties in Venezuela don’t seem to be departing the party line (except briefly and fatally). It’s quite telling that not a single prominent Leftist has apologised for Venezuela, even though it led to a predictable humanitarian catastrophe with 10% of the population fleeing the country. You would think that there might be some soul-searching over how the Left’s favourite regime – yes, that’s what it was if you go back a decade into the interwebs and read what the Left were saying at the time – collapsed into starvation and disease. Nope. There has been none. The Left have memory-holed Venezuela, into the forgettery, never to be spoken of again, until the next Leftist regime takes power somewhere and repeats the process.

    That’s my firm belief too.
    They’re alive for sure.

Jet engined airplanes? Pfffft. no contest.

The trial of former CFMEU boss accused of destroying documents in the lead-up to the royal commission into Australia’s trade unions will begin on Monday.

David Hanna is accused of a single count of destroying, concealing or mutilating documents that could have been required as evidence in the Trade Union Royal Commission.

Hanna entered a plea of not guilty and will face Brisbane District Court today.

The trial has been set down for five days.

Mr Hanna was formerly the head of the Builder Labourers Federation Union, taking up his role at the Queensland CFMEU when the two unions merged in 2013.

He was also vice-president of the Australian Labor Party in Queensland.

Do we start a book on how long Andrew Kessel keeps going before his unfortunate accident? Maybe that’s in bad taste. Would you sell him life insurance?

You hate 1.6 billion people and are jut as active posting slights against them 24/7, 365 days a year. It’s just not the slime ball murderous ones you hate, but you intensely dislike all of them. How are you any different to Birdie?

Presenting equivalence with anything to do with islam is the mark of a dhimmi, or someone making a quid out of the muzzies through the Bendigo bank.

Islam is unique; Nazism and communism did their atrocities with a relative small number of the relevant populations being fanatical; the rest went along for the ride mostly out of fear. But islam is different; real authorities and numerous polls, which I have previously presented here, show not just sizeable minorities of muslims active in jihad but the vast majority of the rest supporting them in their goals, implementation of sharia while weasel wording the methods.

Islam is a cult which manifests the worst in humanity. Idiots like yourself head prefect are self-starters.
