Green Jobs

In the last couple of days, the global parents of BuzzFeed announced it would shed around 200 jobs globally.  It was reported that about 11 of those would come from Australia – approximately 25% of the work force.

Max Mason in the AFR reported:

Of about 40 employees, 25 will enter a “consultation period” and 11 jobs will be cut. It is believed the other 14 jobs will be remade into new roles to be filled internally.

Now TAFKAS is not going to delight in the misfortune of others; losing a job is a terrible, terrible experience.  But TAFKAS will offer some advice.  Perhaps some of those with the misfortune of losing jobs consider retraining and pursue careers that new, emerging and promising area of Green Jobs.

    Learn to code.

  3. I can’t say I have much sympathy, if any, for so-called ‘journalists’ losing their jobs from a rag like BuzzFeed. The crap that they produce is not far removed from what Planned Parenthood does and calls it healthcare.

    Really?

We need lots more coders, apparently. As they said.

I’m sure ex-journalists are capable of learning how to clean solar panels in outback Australia.

Worthless people sacked from worthless jobs. Only problem is we will now have more worthless people on welfare.

Green jobs reminds me of Orbost Vic, where the gangrenes pressured the alp into closing the bush to logging with threats of preference switching ,which would have ended the “careers “ of may labor MP s . Over 200 people lost their jobs , a lot in a tiny town , the green jobs crap was spouted by the comrades ,they created 16 jobs ,2 permanent 14 fire season only ,then dole for the rest of the year . The town lapsed into a terminal state and has never recovered .
But really who could feel sorry for a pack of lying gerbilist stenographers like the buzzfeed crew ? they deserve to spend life in a Gulag in Alaska for the lying propaganda the spouted .

Get a job at a stockyard. They’re well qualified at shoveling bullshit.

@ RobK – Then there’s the ever expanding field

They could also go into taxidermy to stuff the eagles and other birds that are victims of the greedy green madness. At least it will allow the future kids to know what used to fly around the skies before madness descended upon the world.

  12. We’d better start working on those green jobs, as we only have 10 years left to do something about climate change:

They could become aged care nurses, good at being asswipes.

    Can’t do childcare, insufficient qualifications.

BoN, true but there is a hierarchy of tax funded Slime jobs to go with the panel washing thing: Panel Washer Class I, II, III. At the peak of that pyramid they can aspire to be the ELS II (PW and Dead Bird Collecting). The DBC deal is a separate stream which reaches its apex there. Glory be to Bobby Brownie and ‘lotsa Green and clean jobs’!

  15. what is it that these alarmists don’t understand about “global warming”. If there is such a thing then every where would be experiencing similar upward temperature changes, instead of these unpredictable and extreme weather events, which, as history will tell us, have happened before.

  16. RobK:
The expanding field of blade maintenance is good – would a SS or Titanium edging help with the erosion due to water droplet impact help?
Even making the edge from Gillette blades would be a good thing – perhaps serration of the edge to gut those bloody raptors would be a good idea also?

There’ll be lots of lovely new jobs for Senior Principal Deputy Assistant Media Advisors etc. with all those shiny new Labor Ministers and Assistant Ministers, in a few months time – so no real worries for this lot.
