Bring back global warmining

Yesterday, 31 January 2019, there was a 69 degree celcius temperature differential between Sydney, Australia and Chicago, Illinois, USA.

It was 40 deg in Sydney and minus 29 deg in Chicago.  Minus 29 deg!  Bet they would like them some global warming!

TAFKAS wonders how the dams in Chicago are doing and if their rain is filling them.

Long may we search for the ideal climate…right there by the pot at the end of the rainbow.

Flim Flam loves the free money though

  3. Once again I note that equilibrium is taking care of global warming. It gets hot in one part of the world and cold in the other, so average global temperatures balance out. There’s no need to get excited over non-existent global warming.

Zebra at Indiana farm dies in subzero temperatures as cold air crystallized in its lungs

Around FNQ , around 1000mm (yes 1 thousand) in 3 days , and its still raining. They are letting water out of the dams in Townsville because they are getting just a tad full

It’s almost like there’s a fixed amount of energy coming in, and then it either goes North or it goes South.

This could be very important to the conservation movement.

How does the evil CO2 cause such a difference in temperatures? How?

  8. chrisl

And notice how the super cold is always attributed to an event, Polar vortex,Beast from the east, but hot weather is always global warming.

How many Flanneries is that again?

  10. Bruce of Newcastle

A differential of 69 degrees is neither here nor there if it’s weather.
But a 2 degree differential is apocalyptic if it’s climate.
    Weird that.

It’s almost like there’s a fixed amount of energy coming in, and then it either goes North or it goes South.

It’s almost like the Hadley cell of the winter hemisphere gives rise to low-level transequatorial flow into the summer hemisphere, and a significant disturbance in the former (such as a polar vortex anomaly over part of North America) is associated with abnormal zonal winds between the tropical Indian Ocean and the Australian land mass.

Never mind all that – the IPCC just KNOWS, to the 0.5 degree, just what the ‘global average We can trust them. They are scientists.

  13. John Bayley

Try again…bloody tablet made it come out all mangled….

Never mind all that – the IPCC just KNOWS, to the 0.5 degree precision, just what the ‘global average temperature’ will be in 80 years time, unless we repent and pay lots more in taxes.
We can trust them. They are scientists.

  14. John Barr

So If we take an Average World Temp. we get 5 Degree Celsius. Too cold for me. Ay.

No. They might have started out as scientists but now they are toadies to the IPCC climate scam and the money and influence that goes with it.

  16. Dr Fred Lenin

The way to fix global warming is to extract more taxes ,die of dehydration or freeze to death. Gaia demands human sacrifices as well as lots of money . High Treason and rampant corrupt theft is the climateers mantra .

and that folks is what has always had me scratching my head

Was looking for the cricket and the ABC bint (some academic) was claiming that the cold snap in the USA COULD be caused by global warming and that’s why they changed it to Climate Change, because warming in the Antartic was creating a Polar Vortex FMD

Ol’ Flanners, what a bloke! I still treasure his odyssey with his chuckle chump chum in the wee boatie. The concern, the respect, the censure, the tut-tutting – a made for TV special for the ages. Is Flim the Gaia is immanent chappie or was that Brown Eye?

  19. a happy little debunker

A better comparison would be between Hobart and Chicago, as they both sit on a 42nd parallel.

  20. Ceres

In a sane world this bloke would be ridiculed at every turn but instead he keeps on being rewarded with lucrative positions. Crazy.

No. They might have started out as scientists but now…”

They must still be scientisms – look, a white lab coat! Listen, he’s saying science-y sounding stuff! See, the man on TV – and it’s the ABC, so you know you can trust him – said only the fruit-loops disagree! We just have to vote these guys in and they’ll fix it all – and it will be cheaper, and give more people better paying, safer and cleaner jobs! So obviously, anyone that disagrees must be crazy – we fix the environment and get rich doing it, why wouldn’t you?
What? Who pays? Duh! The greedy corporations, not me!
If that’s not enough, well it’s the government, right? They can just print more money!

Despite the clear ridiculousness of the above, every single one is current leftist policy in many western democracies. <shudder> How did we manage to get to this level of tech and not rid ourselves of such foolishness?

I’ve had enough of the Information Age, when does the Wisdom Age start? Soon I hope…

  22. Sydney Boy

I’m in Townsville. Incredible rain. Dam gates are fully open. Maybe 10,000 people will have flood water inside their homes – or more – including me. If any Green mentions climate change he/she is likely to be lynched.

  23. Cantankerous old woman

How much of Townsville is built on the flood plain? If you can see that you are on a flood plain it pays to find out what depth is normal when the rivers flood and to build on stilts.

Townsville is in the tropics where monsoon rains come with enormous amounts of rain, periodically. All this talk of ‘unprecedented’ rain is nonsense, it just happened too long ago for people to have lived through it recently and the records are started arbitrarily at some date chosen for a particular reason cf Global Warming,

The drought of 1735 – 1744 (approximately) when the Burdekin did not run in all that time have not yet been repeated. Imaging the howls when it does, and it will, someday. Our climate cycles are long and variable.

In the 1970s there was so much rain in the gulf country that cattle were standing in water for months and their hoofs rotted off – they had to be shot.
