Our international reputation for green political stupidity continues to grow

Let me start with this suggestion: IT MUST BECOME ILLEGAL FOR ANY INDIVIDUAL OR BUSINESS PROVIDING CONTRIBUTIONS TO POLITICAL PARTIES TO BE GIVEN A GOVERNMENT SUBSIDY OF ANY KIND TO UNDERTAKE ANY FORM OF INFRASTRUCTURE CONSTRUCTION IN AUSTRALIA. Let me now continue.

I posted this yesterday Look! Australia is now setting the international standard for green idiocy but there’s even more today. You must read each of these through yourself to see how ridiculous Australia now looks to others who understand just what a low-grade con global warming is. These could be in either order, but will start here: The Greatest Scandal in the History of Science. It’s about us, but this is only one bit of a longer post:

I have written many times about the unwarranted “adjustments” to measured past temperatures by government agencies, which serve to inflate the modest warming that has occurred in recent decades. Organizations around the world (NOAA and NASA-GISS here in the U.S.) have done this over and over, usually surreptitiously. The Manhattan Contrarianshares my opinion that this misrepresentation of the historical record is the worst scandal in the history of science. The most recent instance comes from Australia.

Another Australian named Gillham has also worked to uncover the shenanigans at Australia’s Bureau of Meteorology. He created this chart, which plots the original raw temperature records against ACORN1 and ACORN2. You can plainly see how those responsible for the records have systematically lowered the measured temperatures of earlier years in order to inflate the warming of recent years:

The Contrarian comments:

As you can see, the “raw” and “v1” temperatures tend to be close — sometimes one higher, sometimes the other. But v2 is significantly lower across the board in the earlier years. Then, suddenly, in the recent years, it tracks the “raw” almost perfectly.

And then there’s this: Australia’s Obsession With Hopelessly Intermittent Wind & Solar Wrecking Entire Power Grid. There you find this among many other things.

Australians once enjoyed affordable power, reliably delivered: the chaotic delivery of wind and solar changed all that. Australian power prices have rocketed out-of-control: its wind and solar power capital, South Australia pays the highest electricity prices, in the world.

Mass power cuts (aka load shedding and demand management) and mass blackouts are the new normal. And yet, the lunatics responsible are hell-bent on doubling down to deliver the final and fatal blow to Australia’s Eastern Grid (geographically, the largest interconnected power grid on the planet).

We are the stupid country and all the prior luck in the world will not compensate for our willingness to allow our political parties to be subsidised by the green industry.

And if you think any of this is about to stop, you should see the front page of The Oz this morning: Carbon cut apocalypse: cost of ALP energy plan.

Are Australians really this stupid? C’mon, Malcolm’s gone and Julia’s gone with him. Why does this idiocy continue?

AND THIS TOO: Just sent to me. He talks about climate as a cycle, in the same way I might talk about economic growth and unemployment. Anyway…

AND THE STORY JUST SHOWED UP ON LUCIANNE.COM

The Greatest Scandal in the History of Science

  1. how ridiculous Australia now looks to others who understand just what a low-grade con global warming is.

It can hardly be called “low-grade” given the amount of money that has been scammed.

    Are Australians really this stupid?

    Via Old Ozzie last month

Aussies top target of Philippines-based investment scams

“Australia is the No 1 target country. They’ve got call centres ringing people all over Australia on a daily basis.”

Follow the money. These people have Australia at the top of the scam list because they
    make the most money,
    with least input,
    quickest

    here.

ie Empirical evidence – Australians are THE most gullible people in the developed world.

Sadly, recent reports on various matters political here has me convinced Australia is now inevitably going off a cliff.

The only question in my mind is whether it will be a tail slide and sharp veering on the loose surface as various hands try to grab the steering wheel and avoid the inevitable.

Or whether we become the Thelma-and-Louise Nation, that powers off in to oblivion with eyes forward, foot hard on the accelerator, and hands held while we sing ‘Kumbaya’.

Loved the tale that the Arctic was warming because the measured temperature was rising dramatically. However if you looked at the data the most isolated weather stations north of the Arctic circle were closed so of course the average temperature rose. Those Global Warming scammers are approaching their judgement day!

  4. John Constantine

    The Rum Corps were gentlemen.

The current Oligarch Corps is unswervingly hellbent on bringing Cheerful Squalor to Australia.

At gunpoint [ think yarragrad buying 800 assault rifles for its paramilitary death squads].

The definition of hate crime all to soon will be the simple act of not loving Cheerful Squalor on the deindustrialised, decolonialised, deconstructed degrowth streets of your local Gulag.

Cubans will come here on tour, so they can look down in pity on the struggles of the australian proletariat.

    Comrades.

  5. I wonder what will happen when the Australian public finally wakes up to this scam? They’ll probably still keep voting for those who promise them free stuff. The Greens and their supporters will still be running around screaming apocalypse because of coal.

One good thing may come out of this, the boat people will start thinking twice about coming to this third world country. Those currently detention in their so-called hell holes should start thinking whether their warm holiday resorts might be the best place after all.

You would think that an organisation that has been called corrupt would take legal action …. unless or course the allegations are true.

  7. You would think that an organisation that has been called corrupt would take legal action …. unless or course the allegations are true.

Were they to do that, they would have to then defend themselves with solid evidence that would stand up to scrutiny. And to do so, all the dirty laundry would have to be revealed to all.

On another note, once the global cooling commences and the global warming scam unravels, the politicians will naturally blame the ‘experts’. These ‘experts’ should be all marched out and duly put on trial.

    Apologies if posted before …

    1954:
The world’s temperature has gone up two degrees Fahrenheit in the past 100 years, most of the rise developing since 1890.
A new survey of world warmth has been made by United Nations scientists working for UNESCO and their conclusions are that not only is the world getting warmer, but the rise in temperature is probably caused by industrial man.

Australia is already well down the list. We’re not getting the best and brightest.

Past Chairman of BHP and of Landcare Jerry Ellis:

Much of my working life was in the steel industry in the 1970s and 1980s. It operated 24×7, with large numbers of electric motors requiring a continuous supply of low-cost electrical power. Unplanned interruptions were rare, but when they occurred they were very costly.
Now we face the prospect of planned and unplanned loss of power due to the rundown of baseload power capacity. It must be a nightmare for today’s steelmakers and aluminium refineries facing this growing crisis.
It is essential that Australia rebalances economic imperatives against populist ideas regarding the release of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere.
A strong Australian economy is crucial to Australia’s welfare and will also make a valuable contribution to world prosperity.

Their Engineers are drinking the CAGW Kool Aid, Comrade.

The other thing that you can plainly see from Gillham’s Chart is the steady rise in temperature.

  14. Seza

Yes, Numbers, a scary 0.4 of a degree or thereabouts.

  15. 1735099

If you believe our great grandchildren and great- great grandchildren are entitled to the same quality of life as we enjoy, it is scary.
If you don’t give a stuff, it doesn’t matter at all.

  16. Ian MacCulloch

If you start the weather records in 1890 rather than 1910 you get a totally different result, viz global cooling rather than global warming.
There were heatwaves in the 1890’s that were killers unlike the gentle ones we have had recently. Birds dropped out the sky, the colonial government of the day gave free rail passes so Western NSW residents could escape the heat waves. Reading the newspaper accounts of the day on Trove are particularly enlightening.
It shows the arbitrariness in all weather/climate discussions of the use of a start date before one makes their prognostications.

Numbers – the keyword is “cycles”

Check the cycles – there are short ones and long one, and even the ice ages come about every 110,000 years.

The CAGW scam is making some people very rich, and the green fuckwits like it cos the de-industrialisation of the West and the destruction of advanced agriculture will ensure billions die in the coming “Little Ice Age”.

Why do you think the Chicoms want Australia so much?? To grow food to feed their people – not us.

Numbers – on re-reading your post, I believe I may have misunderstood what you said.

Yes, I totally agree with you that our great-great grandchildren should have the same quality of life as us.
And this CAGW scam and green ideologies are not going to allow this to happen.

Keep fighting the good fight – use your influence to bring the CAGW lie to as many peoples’ attention as you can.

IT MUST BECOME ILLEGAL FOR ANY INDIVIDUAL OR BUSINESS PROVIDING CONTRIBUTIONS TO POLITICAL PARTIES TO BE GIVEN A GOVERNMENT SUBSIDY OF ANY KIND TO UNDERTAKE ANY FORM OF INFRASTRUCTURE CONSTRUCTION IN AUSTRALIA.

You mean like a rights protecting republic, where the function of government isn’t up for sale, vote or debate?
You know the American founders didn’t even envision political parties, because they wouldn’t serve a purpose, once you’ve got a clear understanding of political fundamentals?

However, as someone who doesn’t even support individual rights, there’s no point in screaming about what you don’t really want, in capitals no less.

  20. Iampeter

And yet, the lunatics responsible are hell-bent on doubling down to deliver the final and fatal blow to Australia’s Eastern Grid (geographically, the largest interconnected power grid on the planet).

Um…the only lunatics it referred to at that link are AGL and AEMO.
I would think that no one outside of the Green or leftist movements in general, would be blaming a private enterprise or a regulator, that is openly admitting the regulatory environment is fucked and more market based solutions are needed. This is from an anti-renewable energy website? How did they manage to end up further left on this issue than even a regulator, lol?

The real lunatics behind this mess are none other than Australia’s Last Truly Conservative Federal Government. It’s hilarious watching conservatives who had no issue with disastrous environmentalist policies until 2008, suddenly shriek hysterically about how the world is ending.
It might very well be, but no one other than conservatives are to blame.

Are Australians really this stupid? C’mon, Malcolm’s gone and Julia’s gone with him. Why does this idiocy continue?

Well, neither Malcolm OR Julia, are in any way responsible for this mess. Neither of them created the RET or built the environmentalist bureaucracy, or anything like that. So, not sure you should be calling anyone else stupid. Just saying.

Also, gotta love the absolutely hopeless letter from Frydenberg in the link above. “The solution to actually provide affordable, reliable electricity.”
There I was thinking that the solution was to not have government involved in the energy sector because it’s not it’s job and it’s causing all the problems.

Seriously conservatives, just get out of politics. We already have plenty of leftist parties to vote for and none of them as butt-fuck, confused and clueless as this.

  21. Paul Johnson

It should also be illegal for any retired politician or public servant to have a financial relationship with any recipient of taxpayer special project funding, direct or indirect.

  22. Dr Fred Lenin

Australians many years ago were noted as the top con men ,niw Australians have become the most conned people in the world ,must be climate change that did this change .

    From the childless?

So much for a democracy, retard.

  25. 1735099

    From the childless

    I have four kids.

    retard

Using this term as a form of abuse is sickening.

  26. Kneel

“If you believe our great grandchildren and great- great grandchildren are entitled to the same quality of life as we enjoy, it is scary.”

What a low bar you set.
I believe our great grandchildren are entitled to as much of an increase in quality of life over us as we have over our great grandparents. It’s called “progress” – we have what we do because our forebears made the effort to provide it for us, or at least, provided the environment to allow it. If you strangle it now with your red and green tape, you will provide exactly that which you claim to want to avoid.

  27. RobK

It’s hilarious watching conservatives who had no issue with disastrous environmentalist policies until 2008,
This assertion is unfounded and incorrect.

  28. Iampeter

It’s hilarious watching conservatives who had no issue with disastrous environmentalist policies until 2008,
This assertion is unfounded and incorrect.

So much so, that you couldn’t even provide a single example to support your statement.

Look, you’re never going to find anything from Andrew Bolt, or Tim Blair, or any other mainstream conservatives, condemning Howard for his disastrous time in office.

Until conservatives condemn Howard, calling for the man responsible for the Green bureaucracy in this country, among many other leftist assaults, to be removed from the conservative movement, they can’t be taken seriously.

Certainly not on green legislation. Conservatives are responsible for it.

  29. RobK

    Peter,
Many conservatives had opposition to the green policies of the Howard government, and decades of government prior. Many of those conservatives are still opposed to the same policies.

  30. Iampeter

    Peter,
Many conservatives had opposition to the green policies of the Howard government, and decades of government prior. Many of those conservatives are still opposed to the same policie

Yes, so many conservatives, that you still can’t name even one.
While I know there are some, the official position of the conservative movement, is as per my link to the shrine for Howard, at The Australian Conservatives website.

This means conservatives can’t fight against any left wing policy, as they are already responsible for even further left ones. This is especially true on environmentalism.

  31. Kneel

“This means conservatives can’t fight against any left wing policy, as they are already responsible for even further left ones. ”

They’re politicians – they can do an about-face, complete with double reverse backflip with twist, then swear black and blue they always supported whatever policy is current, which is merely what they expect will garner them more votes at the next election.

For someone claiming in depth knowledge of politics, saying a party can’t backflip is pretty naive.
