All Power is ultimately derived from the ability to do violence.

I disagree, if you have wealth then simply defending yourself is sufficient which can be (theoretically) done without violence, and admittedly that’s not so easy, but not impossible.

Wow. Lady Macbeth’s handlers are moving hard and fast to impose full state censorship in NZ.

New Zealand officials requested personal information on any online user at the Kiwifarms website who discussed the shooter’s warped manifesto.

And now New Zealand officials have banned Dr. Jordan Peterson’s self-help book “12 Rules for Life” for some reason.
The book provides life advice through essays on abstract ethical principles, psychology, mythology, religion, and personal anecdotes.

    https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2019/03/shocking-new-zealand-bookstore-bans-jordan-petersons-self-help-book-12-rules-for-life-following-mosque-attack/

What exactly are they seeking to deny the people possession of?

  10. Confused Old Misfit

Besides, in a truly peaceful and civilised community, why are any weapons a problem?, by definition, no one wants to kill anyone else.

She has future terrorist attacks to consider and she did not have to go into the mosque.

Exactly. She could have walked into a church and expressed sympathy with the victims. In fact, she need not even walk into a church or a mosque. The irony is that she is probably an atheist anyway. A Godless Commie bastard.

IIRC, when the US was egging on the Afgans against the USSR, that was exactly their argument. Godless communists.

    Numbers at 1754

Militia of the 39th Battalion (the chokos) bore the brunt of the Kokoda campaign for about a month.

As did several other militia battalions. Others served at the Papuan beacheads (Buna, Gona, Sanananda) and at Milne Bay. Yet more served during the Salamaua campaign, along the north coast of New Guinea, and on New Britain and Bougainville. Well spotted.

However, at that time, Papua was Australian territory, and the former German New Guinea, including New Britain and Bougainville and other small islands where militia served, were held by Australia under a League of Nations mandate. Read the qualifiers I added to that post.

  15. Snoopy

The MSM are allowed to talk about the Christchurch attack. They have obviously seen the videos. The producers at the very least. You would assume they have read the manifesto.

Listen, Arma, they tell you what is in the conservative, far right, right-wing manifesto and the horrible, violent, fascist video without risk of you turning into a murderous, violent, far right, right-wing terrorist. You should be thankful they are so bravely willing to share their knowledge at great risk to their own mental health.

The weapon was given as an official “thank you” to the Australian troops that helped them in the area. The weapon traded hands a few times before Australia’s Deputy Chief of Army, Major General John Cantwell, accepted it and placed it in the Australian War Memorial in Canberra in 2007.

I wouldn’t have been giving the Australians anything that went bang. Good chance of it ending up being crushed and smelted.

Nick Graham-Higgs in the Daily Tele has an impassioned piece about going through a big bushfire near his house at Bega:

We know that when we continue to let climate change remain unchecked, more Australians than ever will be in the firing line.

To stop this growing threat to Australians, our economy, and our wellbeing, we need to stop burning fossil fuels and transition to 100 per cent renewable energy, so that climate change doesn’t get worse.

And we need to do it now, before the consequences of inaction are too high a price to pay.

    Of course.

Obvious really, as Nick signs off with:

Nick Graham-Higgs is the founding director of NGH Environmental and has been an environmental practitioner for more than 25 years.

Lotsa great comments under the article. But check Nick’s profile on LinkedIn, which includes:

I have worked as an environmental planner, working in the area of natural resource management, environmental impact assessment, environmental management and biodiversity assessments for approximatly 25 years.

During this time I have been involved with managing complex projects, An example is obtaining environmental approvals for the proposed Silverton Wind Farm, a 1,000 MW wind farm with footpring of approximatley 30,000 hectares and a capital development cost of $2B.

I founded the environmental consultancy, now operating as nghenvironmental in 1992, which now employs around 35 staff in NSW, ACT and WA.

It’s WHAT YOU DO when you graduate from the University of Canberra with a BSc in Ecology (1982 – 1985) after being at Geelong Grammar School from 1968 to 1981.

It was not necessary to mention the Muslim religion lest it thought by a reader that this practice of FGM was a tenet of the religion. Roger’s comment makes clear that only some sects mandate the practice and that in the world’s largest muslim community the custom is not prevalent. There’s enough to criticise about the religion without false or at least misleading statements about its tenets.

I would be most pleased if the good burghers of Warringah were to read my book. Their publicly elected representative, whomsoever that may be, included. As I have said many times, I just want people to know what I know. Because it is a terrible history.

If you ever want to make yourself look stupid, use a big word you don’t know the meaning of or (failing that) use “whom” when you should have used “who”.

Not so bad to use “who” when you should have used “whom”; that’s arguably the way the language is going; but to use “whomsoever” is to set yourself up as knowing more grammar than you possibly do. Certainly more than Rumour Milligan does.

If one were to predict between comity and authoritarianism in the coming years the odds would favor authoritarianism. We know that when we continue to let climate change remain unchecked, more Australians than ever will be in the firing line.

And how does he propose “we” Australians check climate change?

Assuming, for argument’s sake only, that the AGW hypothesis is correct, what difference would a 100% carbon emissions neutral Australia make?

    Next to zero.

Besides which, no reputable climate scientist would assert that there is a direct link between climate change – to the extent that it is happening – and bush fires.

It was not necessary to mention the Muslim religion lest it thought by a reader that this practice of FGM was a tenet of the religion

Mohammed supported ‘female circumcision’ – calling it a noble act according to some hadith. Not a requirement, but still something that he supported.

Meanwhile the media mention the Christianity of people wherever possible to cast it in a negative light, e.g. on this thread the man who shot a sleeping lion is described as a churchgoer, something that has no relevance to article – lion killing not being a tenet of Christianity so far as I’m aware.

  98. rickw

As a Muslim who grew up in New Zealand, this statement didn’t sit well with me. Over the years, I’ve heard it repeated by Kiwis in a ritualistic fashion, always praising the values of multicultural society. I also hear similar self-congratulatory statements in Australia, where I’m now based.

This same narcissistic self-view has often prompted New Zealanders and Australians to declare that I must be “glad” to be in their respective countries. After all, they see Afghanistan, where I come from, as the land of “burqas”, intolerance and fundamentalist violence.

Sucking up to muzzies works so well!

Arky – may I suggest ‘Hot Rod Lincoln’? Just about the best of the early rock’n’roll/hot rod tunes. Some impressive fast guitar work. This car – which still exists – is also referred to in the song as a Model A. The rod’s builders dropped a Lincoln motor into a Ford, and I suspect other modifications were made. There are pictures the web.

We should act vigourously and widely by criminal prosecution against the practice of FGM, and reject pleas by ‘community leaders’ of the Somalis that we lay off them. We should however condemn it as a cultural practice, and not something mandated or permitted by muslims. My objection is only partly based on my personal experience gained while I lived in Tanzania. I know (I indeed married one) that muslim women were very much opposed to the practice and did not see it as contrary to their religion. As I pointed out above, the most senior muslim politician of my time there led a campaign against the practice. I think I have said enough, but I will read any other comments.

Scott Morrison clashes with Waleed Aly during interview on The Project

Scott Morrison has clashed with high-profile Muslim television host Waleed Aly over claims of Islamophobia within the government, accusing him of “sugar-coating” the threat posed by criminal asylum-seekers and refugees being held offshore.

The Prime Minister said many Australians did not understand Islam and were afraid of it, but declared the Coalition parties did not have a problem with the religion as he defended his government’s track record on upholding community cohesion.

In an often combative interview, Mr Morrison addressed claims that he urged shadow cabinet in 2011 to “capitalise” on the electorate’s growing concerns about Muslim immigration and social integration, saying that it “never happened”.
    0:00

He lashed out at the Gold Logie winner, accusing him of trying to dismiss the threat posed by nearly 60 individuals identified as having “serious character concerns” — including accused murders and rapists — who are now eligible to be transferred to Australia from offshore facilities under Labor-backed medivac laws.

While Mr Morrison could not identify the exact number of alleged murders, rapists and paedophiles in the group, saying he did not have the “number to hand”, he suggested Aly was making excuses for them. “What I’m saying to you, Waleed, though is this — don’t sugar-coat this stuff. It doesn’t excuse it,” Mr Morrison said. “I’m afraid, mate, sometimes you could be accused of that. You’re saying that there was no risk, Waleed. There was risk and you say it didn’t exist.”

In his latest interview for Serbia’s top-rated Pink [Not a homo thing] TV morning program – Tuesday, March 19 – Srdja Trifkovic analyzes Western media coverage of last Friday’s mass shooting in Christchurch. You can watch the video here.

ST: What is truly striking about Western reactions to the shootings in New Zealand is, first of all, the level of self-hatred, of civilizational and racial self-loathing. So much self-recrimination over an isolated act by a single deranged person defies belief. On the other hand, whenever some Islamists carry out an attack on non-Muslims—which happens on average once a week, most recently in the Dutch city of Utrecht yesterday [March 18, killing three persons on a tram]—three features are invariably present in Western media reports.

First, the attacker is probably insane. This was initially claimed about the Tunisian who killed 86 French people with a truck in Nice on Bastille Day 2016; they claimed exactly the same about Major Nidal Hasan who murdered 13 soldiers [at Ft. Hood] in the United States; and so on.
Second, if the attacker screams “Allahu akbar!” the commentariat nevertheless will wonder what could have possibly motivated him to carry out the attack. We need to look for the “true causes”: Islamic fundamentalism per se cannot be the reason since Islam is a religion of peace and tolerance, so there must be some dissonance here. Aha, it’s probably all our fault, because we have not provided sufficient employment opportunities, sufficient level of integration, so the poor attacker was feeling marginalized and discriminated against.
The third reflexive media response: we must avoid the danger of “backlash” which may induce “Islamophobia.” On the other hand, in recent days I have not heard anyone issuing a warning against marginalizing white heterosexual males, against stigmatizing them with negative stereotypes.
Another cardinal factor in all Western reporting is that when Muslims murder Christians, it is not news. In the few days before Christchurch, 120 Christians were killed by Boko Haram in three villages in a province in northern Nigeria. Has anyone reported it? No, they acted just as if it had not happened.

And yet, when we consider the number of Christians in majority-Muslim states, especially in the Middle East—including Iraq, where they have practically disappeared following the U.S. intervention—it is clear, and I wrote about that in Chronicles, that a Christian in a Muslim country is at least 143 times more likely to be killed than a Muslim in a Christian country. Overall, in this case we are looking at a grotesque example of the civilizational decrepitude and collective psychopathology of the Western ruling elite class and the media machine which it controls . . .

With the second and third generation within the Islamic diaspora we encounter far more negative attitudes to the host society than with the first. Those who arrive in the first generation actually want to change their environment, and they have a modicum of respect for the institutions of the host-country. Those who are born in those countries have absolutely nothing to identify with, certainly not with the tepid, tasteless pap of multi-culti Western liberal toleration which is served to them in public schools and the media.

Pink: So they go on with their parallel lives?

ST: In France they are not served Racine or Victor Hugo as the foundation of the French identity in which to partake, but tolerance and multiculturalism. Then they go in quest of an identity, and that quest for roots ultimately leads them to “Allahu akbar!” We have the same situation with the third generation of Algerians in France, Turks in Germany, Pakistanis in Britain, Moroccans in Holland, and everyone from those lands in Scandinavia. So this is not a phenomenon related to the cultural peculiarities of a certain country of region, but to Islam as a whole.

Pink: Is the West being Islamized?

ST: Public discourse on Islam is already circumscribed by what Islamist activists in the West define as permissible discourse. To be specific: it does not matter if a specific Kuranic verse mandates that the infidel be converted, or killed, or forced to pay poll tax with the trembling hand of abject submission. If you say that in a manner which may be seen as “intolerant,” then it does not matter that you are telling the truth, you will be accused of “hate speech.”

The Euro-invading goat riders seem not to be particularly interested in settling in Russia, whether it’s part of the EU or not. The reason is one V. Putin.

Putin – gives the camera a thousand yard stare, and says bluntly that foreign ideologies are no welcome in the Motherland. Rides horses with his rig out and swims in the Arctic, which at first glance might appear silly but indicates, especially to other world leaders that Russia is run by a real man and will brook no nonsense. Annexed the Crimea and dared anyone to do anything about it.

Trump – called to account in plain language Iran, Saudi Arabia and North Korea, which none of his predecessors had been able to do in decades. Says what he’s going to do and does it, to the chagrin of the lefty swamp in his own country, and at the same time dragged more than a trillion per year in business from offshore back to the CONUS. Any other world leaders really think Trump’s a lightweight?

Ardern – at the first sign of trouble in the Shaky Isles, bans everything that might upset anyone, moons about in Mussie disguise in a mosque telling insignificant people (in global terms, certainly true) how sorry she is, and announces she’ll be off on maternity leave soon.

    Spot the difference.

Jordan Peterson books removed from bookstores in New Zealand.

If Islam is to be thus appeased, we should seize the opportunity to petition Whitcoull’s to delete from their inventory all books offensive to Islam …where to begin?

  192. Armadillo

White supremacists are everywhere, so it seems.

Well, it was my birthday today. Things I learned:

    • 69 is an age; not a birthday present
    • Going to a funeral on your birthday is not a fun thing
    • Dinner with dearly beloved, the kids and the grandies is a treat and a blessing
    • Pork belly salad is an indulgence
    • Vasse Felix make a decent sav blanc
    • When the first four birthday emails you get are from Princess Cruises, P&O Cruises, Vision Cruises and Flight Centre … you just might have a problem!

Could anyone seriously see Trump going on “The Project” equivalent in the US? Fuck that. He would be mocking the retards, not consorting with them.

Exactly what I said to Sinclair’s post suggesting that Morrison go and debate Waleed. NWaleed is an antfucket and Morrison should rise above such and be a P.M. But as I have repeatedly warned for years now that Morrison is really an antfucker himself.

  195. Armadillo

Check out this evil white supremacist bastard, Arma.

    He’s photo shopped, not morose.

There is still a listing on the Whitcoulls website for people to order Mein Kampf, by Adolf Hitler.

which says everything you need to know about Whitcoulls concern about the community. Either one or two pygmies complained and they got spooked or they just use the Christchurch attacks as a pretext. Either way the association of Peterson with white supremacy and the Christchurch attacks I would suggest is defamatory and I would suggest Peterson has enough dosh now to lawyer up.

It’s not that sort of blog.

Yes, yes it is. Now say “Happy Birthday” you scaly bastard!

Next thing we will be getting grandkid updates. Unless it was hit by a driverless automated bus, no one cares.

Getting a pet Morose Giraffe that ate you resident bird population would be newsworthy.

All true but I’ve come to like the fact that the Australian prime ministership is now a truly pissant office. Menzies was a large, formidable figure and wielded some moral authority. Gorton was great enough to treat the job as beneath him. Apart from Ming, there have been no great leaders in the office since 1901. Appearing on The Project – the TV equivalent of Larvatus Prodeo – adds to the anti-mystique of the prime ministership.

Nah. You’re almost 70. I have nothing to learn from your generation.

Did the kids buy you a ticket to the Woodstock 50th Anniversary?

We don’t want you wandering about the Cat butt naked and stoned off your tits. America is the safest place for you now that the Trump God is in charge.

Daniel Mannix was the leader of Australia during WWI.

No time for hippy poofters at Woodstock, mate!

Nah, have never done drugs in my life (well, nicotine a many few years back, and a white wine or two). America was the safest place I’ve ever been when the Pres was Bush, Øbama or God.

Thx Muddy, I’m away at the moment but will return home on the weekend. I’ll see if I can speak to Jack about his service. He’s 96 now and going deaf. Well age, mortars and Japanese grenades will do that to you.

I’ll see what I can do.

    Thx again.

Thanks, COM. I read the entire manifesto, all 74 pages and found it fascinating. It’s changed my opinio of him completely.

He’s not a lefty. He’s a Moselyite. His economics is much like Infidel Tiger’s. So are some of his other ideas. Others are closer to Zippy’s.

He’s very consistent, with some ironic sidenotes. He’s a complete ‘racist and sees the death of European identity as a serious threat, coming from Islam and demographics. He makes it credible case. He’s thought long and hard about his position, which certainly isn’t mine, but I can see where he’s coming from.

I quite see why lefties want to stop us reading it.

I had lunch today with an Indian friend. He’s a complete Westerner and a Catholic. I enjoyed pointing out to him that according to the latest definition (see Dover), he’s a white supremacist. Likewise my neighbour, a cute little half Malaysian Chinese, half Dutch chick. She’s a white supremacist too. Both thought it funny.

  217. DrBeauGan

I recall reading about an aboriginal girl who acted parts in Shakespearean plays. And we’ve got Black Ball, who supports some footy club. White supremacists both of them. 😁
