The inkwell monitor was usually the goodie-twoshoes queen bee.

Revenge – fill the inkwells (only some, mind, because evidence) with mashed up blotting paper with a film of blue ink on top to mask what lay beneath. Then watch as the wells overflowed everywhere.

    Good times.

Three cheers for common sense and Blackstone’s principles that ensure we have a fair system and a free society.

That only works if there is some negative result from allowing dodgy claims especially of the “He said 40 years ago” variety to proceed.

I know. This why we must be Epicureans and accept Discordian philosophy.

Dropping sherbet bombs in the inkwell produced a similar result – coloured ink fizzing everywhere.

  5. I never skipped any year of my education. I started school at the Catholic School in Walgett in 1946 after I had turned 6yrs of age. All of those in their first couple of years didn’t have desks but had to sit on the floor and had to play with blocks or scribble or draw on the paper we were given.

Satellite image shows Saudi pump station after drone attack
    43 minutes ago

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — A satellite image obtained by The Associated Press shows one of the two pumping stations attacked by drones in Saudi Arabia apparently intact.

The image from San Francisco-based Planet Labs Inc. that the AP examined on Wednesday shows Saudi Aramco’s Pumping Station No. 8 outside of the town of al-Duadmi. It’s 330 kilometers, or 205 miles, west of the capital, Riyadh.

The photo, taken Tuesday after the attack claimed by Yemen’s Houthi rebels, shows two black marks near where Saudi Arabia’s East-West Pipeline passes by the facility. Those marks weren’t there in images taken Monday.

Teachers grapple with climate change: ‘A pretty scary topic’
    By MICHAEL MELIA

When science teacher Diana Allen set out to teach climate change, a subject she’d never learned in school, she fell into a rabbit’s hole of misinformation: Many resources presented online as educational material were actually junk.

“It is a pretty scary topic to take on,” said Allen, a teacher at Sanford Junior High School, in southern Maine. “There are some pretty tricky websites out there. You kind of have to be an expert to be able to see through that like, ‘Oh, no, these guys aren’t telling you the truth.’”

There are materials produced by climate change doubters, lesson plans developed by the oil industry, and countless other sites with misleading or outdated information. The Climate Literacy and Energy Awareness Network , funded by federal grants, reviewed more than 30,000 free online resources and found only 700 acceptable for use in schools.

Women’s Legal Service wins right to exclude men from advertising, recruitment, employment practices
Vanessa Marsh, Alexandria Utting, The Courier-Mail
    an hour ago
    Subscriber only

A WOMEN’S legal group has won the right to discriminate against men in its hiring practices after it argued many of its traumatised clients were too fearful to interact with men.

The Women’s Legal Service has been granted a five-year exemption from Queensland’s Anti-Discrimination Act to exclude men from its advertising, recruitment and employment practices.

The group provides free legal and social assistance for vulnerable women in respect of domestic violence, child protection, complex family law matters and sexual assault.

The service helps 16,000 Queensland women each year and employs 46 women full time, 260 female volunteers and does not have any male staff or volunteers.

In its application to the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission, the service argued it should be exempt from the Anti-Discrimination Act because “the women who require assistance from the applicant are vulnerable women”.

“(Women) who … have been subjected to personal violence, as a result of either domestic or sexual violence at the hands of a male … , (who) due to their experiences are often traumatised and or fearful of men and … (who) are seeking support and assistance from women in an environment where they feel safe,” the judgement from commission vice-president Daniel O’Connor reads.

Update – Election advertising blackout periods
    Federal election

From 12 am Thursday 16 May 2019, all radio and TV licensees are prohibited by the Broadcasting Services Act 1992 from showing any election advertisements ahead of the Federal election of Saturday 18 May 2019. The blackout lasts until the polls close at 6 pm that Saturday.

The election advertising blackout applies to all licensed services, including:

    commercial television broadcasting licensees
    commercial radio broadcasting licensees
    community broadcasting licensees
    subscription television broadcasting licensees
providers of broadcasting services under class licences.
The election advertising blackout only applies to broadcasters. It does not include online services and print media.

    .
    separate people based on race

Constitutional recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the original residents and ongoing custodians of Australia, and their rights as the Traditional Owners of the land.

over ride state rights to manage their local governments

Constitutional recognition of the powers and responsibilities of local government and its entitlement to adequate sources of revenue.

providing thousands of gullible, feel good voters

    Electoral reforms that would enable:
    all Australian citizens over the age of 16 to be eligible to vote;

We can’t keep raising money from the CFMEU

Electoral funding reform that provides for:
    public funding of political parties and candidates for election campaigns and for the administration of political parties, to be set at a level that ensures proper democratic participation by voters and reduces corporate influence on political decisions;

    profit bad, must be punished

    bans on political donations from for-profit corporations;

non-profit good people with no ulterior motives

    caps on individual political donations (excluding bequests) and donations from not-for-profit organisations;

let the Twitter & Facebook mobs veto, and or ignore laws they don’t like

bans on political donations from for-profit corporations

Such a rule doesn’t really do anything; it just means that corporate donations would now pass through an intermediate non-profit organisation.

What would be effective is banning all corporate donations, profit and non-profit. All donations from individuals, who each have some kind of cap. But that would mean the Greens lose a lot of their donations.

The NSW Libs tried doing exactly this – and got challenged in court by the ALP. This was somehow a freedom of speech issue. Actual freedom of speech issues are, of course, not of concern to the ALP.

Him getting a below the line result would be a big message to Photios and ilk and might embolden more of the move back towards the light.

And if he somehow pulls it off and gets up from fourth position, it’ll encourage more rogue behaviour in the future.

I wasn’t joking about sowing division in LNP – I am giving him one of my preferences, precisely for that reason. I mean, I hope LNP wins the lower house, but they still suck.

I’m glad I’m not in New South Wales cos I would be very torn about Jim Molan. When I heard him speak about what happened to his daughter who managed to get her online stalker dealt with under the current laws I shuddered because he wanted then to start regulating online speech even forcing people to use their real names when not so long ago the AFP was advising against putting your identity online because of the very real possibility of identity theft (which is actually a bigger issue for us Small Fry then big well known people like Jim Molan and Scott Morrison). In that interview he came across as arrogant and authoritarian and a right little fascist. So while I can applaud him for trying to reform the corrupt homosexualist green outfit that is the New South Wales liberals I’m just wondering if it’s just frying pan and fire.

Interesting editor’s note at the bottom of the ABC story. Charges dropped, but no mention that the young lady admitted to fibbing. Link to “Related Story: ‘Barbaric and inhumane’: Why do so few rapists go to jail?”

Also very strange that some of the stories claim the Caitlyn Gray called her boyfriend who then called 000 and made a report. However the ABC story doesn’t mention that either and instead says, “She then fled and alerted police at Liverpool who then arrested the man on Friday morning,” which is a somewhat different story to what News Dot Com were saying.

There’s one more weird thing, News Dot Com says he was in jail for one week, however the original event happened Nov 2018 and it was reported that Judge George Zdenkowski refused his first bail application, then Magistrate Elaine Truscott refused his second bail application (that was 27 November, as far as I can tell). Seven News says he spent two weeks in jail and they reported this on 6 May.

    https://7news.com.au/news/court-justice/good-samaritan-vindicated-after-indecent-assault-charges-thrown-out-in-court-c-96406

How is it possible that he could be denied bail twice but then found innocent many months later and only spent either one or two weeks in jail depending on which reporter you believe? Something doesn’t add up. What was he doing for the past 5 months? When did he get bail then?

    LOL.

  179. Infidel Tiger

See my comment yesterday. Get out there if you actually care how they are and help get Riccardo’s numbers increased. The Aust Cons could do with a lot more help on the day. Book in via the website.

This is what I dont understand.

Bernardi claims AC has as many or more members than any other party and yet they can’t even get volunteers and have zero ads or presence.

    Be careful candidates.

    Ponzi ponzi ponzi.

What the hell are you going to do with a rapier? You can actually do more damage with a snapped-off car aerial.

A genuine rapier, with practice, kills people quickly and efficiently … provided they are not wearing armour. Very popular for several hundred years serving this purpose as a light personal side arm, eventually displaced by pistols once those devices became safe enough to use.

However, the sporting epee in the photograph is extremely thin, and used for practice … with a rounded ball on the end precisely to ensure they don’t accidentally kill anyone.

Riccardo if I were in NSW you would get my vote. Best wishes for Saturday.

  182. YT

The people are great, the party volunteers are unbelievable but when faced with the loathsome squibs from the Liberal/Labor/National/Green Uniparty, the bride has to remind me to remain statesman-like and not revert to a less measured but more gratifying response.

Let fly at the filth after polling day Ricccardo. It’s what they deserve.

    Terrific statement Alfred

    God be with you, Alfred.

    You need nobody else.

Riccardo is a great guy, an absolute family man and a complete charmer as well as an excellent strategic thinker; he is welcome at our place on Saturday nite with a few other Cats, if he is not busy elsewhere, which I expect he is. As an incentive, I will return his Tupperware container, small kids’ fork, and tea towel which he left here last time. Or will return these some other time.

Custard and Riccardo, I’d say all Cats wish you well. Good luck to you both.
Putting yourself up for election is harrowing, no matter where, when and why.

Currently, Richo and Jones are on Sky pretending to be friendly sparring partners.
Elections do bring out the best and worst in people. Somehow I don’t think these two will ever be good mates. They are raving at each other about Greens vs. Palmer.

  189. DrBeauGan

Good stuff, Alfred. Keep it up!😊😎😇

  190. Elizabeth (Lizzie) Beare

Alfred – such a fantastic name. Something to be proud of, check out Alfred the Great someday.

Then watch “The Last Kingdom” on Netflix, which is all about those times. Tell your dad too; he might be interested in this series drawing broadly on the novels of Bernard Cornwell.

Oil tankers seem to have become prone to large holes somewhere around the Gulf region. Probably contagious, I’d watch out for that.

  192. Lizzie, after whom do you think my father named me?

  193. Roger

Alfred – such a fantastic name. Something to be proud of, check out Alfred the Great someday.

He’s a bright young chap…I expect he already has.

  194. Infidel Tiger

Would def vote for Riccardo and Sophie York.

    Good people.

Hope their organisation is not stuffing them.

  195. Bruce of Newcastle

    Good stuff, Alfred.

Seconded! But you’re going to get some puzzled looks since most of the audience will have been living on another planet, where places like WUWT or Climate Audit have never been heard of. And very few of them will know what a graph is, let alone being able to verify one.

  196. DrBeauGan

Good stuff, Alfred. Keep it up!

Oh, and my regards to your dad, who is a good man.

  197. jupes

    Impressive stuff from Riccardo.

Yeah best of luck mate, though aren’t you second on the ticket*?

Unlikely that AC will get two candidates up I would have thought.

*Noting a lot of people will probably vote above the line.

  198. Fleeced

And they weren’t backward in coming forward. Chicks were ringing up describing their injuries as a result of riding jetskis, jumping on trampolines, the lot.

We had a girl at work once who was injured moving house and had to take time off. Her boyfriend kindly informed us that whilst navigating stairs with furniture, a wardrobe fell on her snatch.

  199. Infidel Tiger

    Great video Riccardo.

    Godspeed.

  200. That’s all folks. See you on the other side of the election.

  201. Infidel Tiger

Imagine if this election came down to the seat of Warringah.

Ricardo it is just so refreshing to listen to you because you talk sense and you talk reality. I have no faith in Australian voters but I hope beyond hope and pray that you get up in New South Wales this Saturday. But whatever happens I want to thank you for your service to this nation both as a military man and as somebody who’s willing to stick his neck out in politics.

  203. Do not look up Alabama Hot Pocket on urban dictionary if the above seems disturbing. DO NOT!…

    Brain bleach ……. pleeeeeeease!
    Industrial strength, in wholesale quantities.

Evil Elvis is correct. Some things we’re better off not knowing.

Will add you to the list Riccardo – I’ll put you at #2 or #3. Best of luck.

How the hell would a wardrobe…… Never mind.

That particular unmentionable bit must have been award-winning.

Better let ‘Cleveland Steamer’ through to the keeper as well then.

Indeed, ZK2A, the Principal Solicitor of the Victorian OPP is John Cain III, son is a Labor premier and grandson of another. The family has a pathological hatred of the the Catholic church and the DLP in its DNA – but of course I wouldn’t even think of suggesting that this influenced the Pell prosecution. Or that his political background affected decisions on the Red Shirts case, the nolle prosequi against Setka for intimidation and blackmail, the Shorten case, etc etc.

  211. None

I have now seen it with my own eyes. I can confirm that the Herald Sun will not publish a comment which is a straight quote (with no commentary) from sec 116 of the Australian Constitution or from the Catholic catechism.

  212. Knuckle Dragger

Well, given the incident occurred while the ladeeee was moving house, there are plenty of box jokes to be had but I for one won’t be going near them, in the interests of both solidarity and decorum.

When do I get my pussy hat?

  213. Old Lefty

What’s all the fuss about Conor Parisss? After all, he’s just standard issue for the ALP Socialist Left, Greens, ABC and Nine-Fairfax isn’t he?

  214. None

    John Cain III
Bloody hell journalists could be making great names for themselves if they investigated some of these dubious networks and avenues of corruption but no no they’re all just a bunch of limp-wristed sodomy fetishts and fifth columnists.

  215. Zulu Kilo Two Alpha

Great interview, Riccardo, and all the best for the election.

  216. Armadillo

Ricardo should have posted that stuff here earlier.

Not everyone are Twitter and Facebook fans. I’d suggest most actually just use email.

I bet Mr Scrawny Pigeon Chest Hide-Behind-A-Girl-To-Yell-Threats wishes he could do lots of things.

I know ten-year-old girls that could kick him to pieces.

  219. Better let ‘Cleveland Steamer’ through to the keeper as well then.

Lol, bog standard German pronno movie fare. It’s nothing compared to Alabama Hot Pocket.

Greeeeat advertisement for gays you got there, homos.

Day 18 of the campaign and day 14 of pre-poll.

After posting last night I was watching PM Live and Cory was on the panel. Paul went to a commercial break by saying “predictions from the panel after the break” [or words to that effect]

I quickly texted Cory and sure enough when the panel returned he mentioned my prediction! Thanks Cory.

Got an email from FIFO worker and tremendous supporter Dominic who has completed letterboxing all the priority areas in Cowan that he was allocated. Fantastic work.

This tweet from Melissa Clarke from #TheirABC shows how pre-poll has become huge.

Got to the booth a tad late at 8.20 and the whole dynamic of the booth was changed overnight when the decision was made to move the entry to the booth to the left door NOT the middle door.

I was told by the Liberal party booth rep that he had heard the goons from Culleton’s fringe party would be at the booth later on today.

GetUp were out in force with these goons in the orange vests and this trailer parked out the front. What blatent lies they peddle…. I thought the guy in the yellow hood looked more like the KKK than bananas in pyjamas.

Fortunately Naomi was kind enough to call to say that she would be up at the booth at 11.00am As usual conservatives are never late and right on time there she was. Naomi is now doing the Landsdale polling booth with me on Saturday. I’d like more to help at Landsdale if you are free Saturday. Even for just an hour two.

This gave me a chance to leave the booth and get a bite to eat but no sooner Lee called to say that not only was she coming to the booth but her friend Judith was coming to the booth too, to collect material for polling day in Guilderton. I had a hat, t-shirt and HTV’s along a coreflute ready to go and the AC WA pit crew kicked in and we now have a presence at that booth on polling day!

Naomi and Lee did a great job. How good are these people?

The goons arrived later as predicted. They had a trailer over the road too but I forgot to get a photo. Hows the haircut? Vote winner?

I have had long chats with Clives FB Party representative for Moore, Rod Chilcott. He is a very jovial fellow who has had much success in the private sector. I think coming towards the end of this campaign that I would now call Rod a friend. A very nice bloke. Thanks Rod.

I’ve just got off the phone to Pam and she is driving to Collie tomorrow to get kits to vounteers and supporters before polling day. Thanks Pam.

The cars of the day were these. Turbocharged Mazda MX5 (this would be nuts!) Audi A5 sedan, Mercedes Coupe and this 1745cc Harley. Yes seriously!

If anyone can get to Joondalup pre-poll in the next two days we really need you to step up! Call me.

Rogan Josh for dinner. Falling asleep on the couch highly likely.

Ah the lies the screaming anti-Christian bigot gay Green tells. Here he is trying to whip up some stories that he was somehow, I don’t know, victimized because he was gay – after admitting that coming out at a Greek Orthodox school was no big deal – but now we have the video to show what the bastard really was up to at university https://honisoit.com/2017/04/growing-up-greek-and-gay/

Can’t someone put up a Cat ticket for the Victoristan Senate? If not, I fear I may err on Saturday and fall into an occasion of sin.

Nelson Kidd-Players put up a fairly decent form guide a couple of weeks ago.
    Hopefully he can re-post it.

Nick…..the only standards applied to the Greens (and a lot of the left) are double standards.

I’m starting to get a bit sick of Shorten telling us all where he’s been, how much he’s done, the things he’s been through rah rah rah blahdy blah.

He can stand proud in front of the whole country and tell us all this isn’t his first rodeo when, and only when, a wardrobe falls on his vagina.
