Likey to be a millionaire at 17.

Greta: the meth years. Millionaire at 17, covered in tatts and broke by 23. Appearing on Oprah at 30 after getting clean and finding god, peddling a book about how she was cynically used.

  2. Armadillo

It is a launching board for a life long career as an activist, which can be quite lucrative for the ones at the very top.

Google “child stars” and you will surprisingly find that the articles mention the ones that have failed and lost fortunes, and the ones that ultimately were successful. Fair enough. These are people who want to find new child stars to suck their life off.

What they don’t tell you on Google is the probably millions of kids whose overbearing parents have destroyed their lives. Perhaps tens of millions of kids, maybe more.

  3. 2dogs

Greta has already been awarded a $100,000 prize.
And is odds on for the Nobel you’d think.
Likey to be a millionaire at 17.

Yes, very lucrative for these girls.

Anjali Appadurai, who did this at COP17, doesn’t seem to be doing as well, but then, she didn’t really draw the same level of media attention in 2011 that Severn or Greta have achieved. Although maybe not the big bucks for her, but still enough of a career to make a decent living.

  4. Armadillo

Yes, very lucrative for these girls.

And their handlers. It’s pretty sick really.

  5. Harlequin Decline

Back into Sydney yesterday after an extended stay overseas. The airport was unusually quiet but the traffic to the North Shore was in its usual shit state. Taxi driver sez ‘Not usually this bad’ but he was bullshitting, it usually is.

At home the recently installed NBN-Telstra Internet wasn’t working so I steeled myself for the forthcoming misery and contacted the faults centre.

Several interations of my contact details, name, DOB etc later and having given up most of the will to live I was explaining the problem to the fault centre dolt. Seeing as the NBN modem lights were not staying on it was obvious the NBN had to be at fault at a minimum. However this obviously went over Mr Dolt’s head and he became fixed on the Telstra modem having a fault.

However to his credit and despite my disbelief miracles don’t happen he arranged for a technician to visit within 24 hours.

Technician arrives today, takes one look at the NBN modem and says it’s fried, replaces it and lo and behold it starts working.

  6. Knuckle Dragger

    Well.

In the immortal words of the great Mike Nolan – met up with blokes, had a few smokes, got on the pokes, had some cokes.

Complete and utter disaster. Never seen anything like it. Not even a hint of a pay, and three $30 Keno tickets in a row with a $0 return. Everything to my left and right was lighting up like JC’s hotline on Christmas Eve, and nothing for poor old KD.

Oh well. Next time all the bills are paid and there’s a bit spare, I’ll do it all again.

    Potential greatness.

  7. Armadillo

    Potential greatness.

That’s the spirit. You should visit the track.

Jane Caro: The Church Is Finally Losing Its Grip On Births, Deaths And Marriages

Another grotesque headline delivered by Apple. Never let it be said that there isn’t a large element of the left that simply hates the Catholic church and by extension all orthodox Christians who adhere to the apostolic faith. These people are not concerned about women or children nor god forbid, men. Their only interest is power and control. Destroy marriage, kill by abortion and euthanasia. Perhaps I should be grateful that these sterile often childless murderous death cultists will become extinct but I know they will cannibalise the living before that and need to be stopped. Their program is quite simply Mengelesque.

  9. Knuckle Dragger

Oh ho ho ho ho no.

I refuse to have Sportsbet etc as apps on my phone, as I reckon I’d be hopeless.

Every time I’m at the track, which granted is not often at all I get sucked in by the nags and the ambience and the general whatnot.

Only walked away from the track in the black a couple of times. Haven’t had a bad day at the races yet though.

  10. Armadillo

Technician arrives today, takes one look at the NBN modem and says it’s fried, replaces it and lo and behold it starts working.

Anything else electrical in the house simply “fry”? Or just the NBN modem?

So tomorrow’s AFL final is between the baby killers and the granny killers.

  13. Harlequin Decline

My AFL bets this year haven’t turned out well-

-Gold Coast to make the top 8. Looked good at 34:1 after the first few games but went to water thereafter.

-Brisbane-GWS on 7 July. A 3.4:1 success for Brisbane, restoring my false sense of confidence.

-A combination bet on either WCE, Collingwood or Geeelong to win the GF. Placed halfway through the year and looking good until the useless bastards got to the finals.

Richmond look good to win 2moz but in the spirit of contrariness I’ve now placed a bet on GWS.

MOnts is in Washington advising Pelosi. I thought that would be pretty obvious to everyone.

Seems Greta is up for the Nobel Peace Prize or next year’s Oscar. BTW Suzuki’s daughter in 1992 when she was 12 was out selling the same message as Greta . She could not go outside because of the ozone hole ? Her script almost identical to Greta’s about the environment ,extinction etc . Wonder where she is now.

  20. Oh come on

If m0nty doesn’t stop by, Trump could be in real trouble!

Incidentally, I see the media is breathlessly reporting that the WH “whistleblower” is a CIA agent! Well, that changes everything. After all, the CIA has covered itself in such glory of late.

Max, Catholic Church has about the biggest property portfolio in the country

You can’t call it a portfolio, though Rex. They didn’t buy the block my local church and school are built on as an investment. Let’s not forget that the money used to build churches came from donations from ordinary people. Buildings were the focal point of communities wanting to hand on the faith to the next generation. Much more than assets in a portfolio.

  24. DrBeauGan

Even numbers, not the most perceptive of observers, could see that the US state department and the government of Cuba are busy propping each other up. The state department wants a permanent enemy to keep its funding, and the Cuban government wants to be able to blame the US for Cuban poverty. Only an utter fool would think that impoverishing the Cuban people will impact on the Cuban government. The state department isn’t working in the interests of the US, it’s working for itself.

  25. Armadillo

We should lay off Greta a bit. When she talked about “you are killing my generation” sort of struck a chord with me. It made sense.

Rep. Adam Schiff fraudulently read to Congress, with millions of people watching, a version of my conversation with the President of Ukraine that doesn’t exist. He was supposedly reading the exact transcribed version of the call, but he completely changed the words to make it…..sound horrible, and me sound guilty. HE WAS DESPERATE AND HE GOT CAUGHT. Adam Schiff therefore lied to Congress and attempted to defraud the American Public. He has been doing this for two years. I am calling for him to immediately resign from Congress based on this fraud!

Since 1960, there have been 240 African heads of State, and fewer then twenty can be said to have been good leaders. The vast majority were corrupt, incompetent and cruel. Most were only interested in blonde secretaries and black Mercedes’s. Often they had to be removed by force.

  40. Arky

Why do you keep referring to ten timeline

    ..
Because Shapiro is smarter than me and apparently all the little bits and pieces point out that the Ukrainians had no idea that the aid was being delayed until way after the call.
    Yeah, it is still incomplete.
But if you are going to leverage someone into doing something the order and timings is important, speacially when the election is not until next year.
For Trump to be threatening the Ukrainians in that call for something that has no value to him until the 2020 election, and only if Biden is the opponent, very specific things must happen, or be planned to happen, in a specific order.

  41. twostix

No, For it to be of value to Trump it has to be something he plans to trigger after the primary is over.

Model A Fords and roof wire:

Some say Chicken Wire (Ford called it Roof Netting) was used on Model A’s, some say it was not. That is fine…

Background…Contained in the Ford Service Bulletins (FSB’s) are a few “body” photos showing some different body styles. One of which is a 1929 Town Sedan (Murray) page 372 showing A-158258 “roof netting”.

In other photos of the Standard Coupe and Tudor (these are all closed cars by the way), the photos show no roof netting.

In viewing the November 15, 1929 Body Parts List “ROOF” section of each of these models and then some, the following was discovered:

The Briggs and Murray “ROOF” sections the Standard Fordor Sedan and the Town Sedan, A-158258 (Roof Netting/Murray) and A-168322 (Roof Netting/Briggs) was used.

This “netting” was also used in the Fordor Steel Back (A-63360); Fordor (2-window) (A-168322); Town Car (A-143282); Deluxe Delivery (A-57293); Tudor (A-57293); and Standard Coupe (A-47312) (was not listed with Special Coupe as it is almost the same body style).

Remarkably the PhD student has held a consistent position for 2 days in a row!

That ‘binary’ position being: ‘that the only National Servicemen who volunteered for Vietnam were those civilians whose birthdays were not on a marble in the lottery of death.’

By this reckoning, all those National Servicemen who:
    – Extended their period of National Service to complete a 12 month tour with their unit.
    – Agreed to extend their period of National Service to serve in Vietnam with the SASR
    – Re-enlisted when they found that their unit was to be posted to Vietnam
    – Were members of the CMF and volunteered for National Service
    – Transferred to the Regular Army during their period of National Service
    – Transferred to the Regular Army after their period of National Service.

Specifically, to serve in Vietnam, were not volunteers! Somehow they were coerced…

The PhD student was provided with a primary source that demonstrated examples of all these types of volunteerism but did not have the wit to realise it.

The research that was conducted by the National Servicemen’s Association of Australia (established in Toowoomba) It has been available since 2005 – had he bothered to look.

There is not a member of any faculty in Australia who would bother spoon feeding clues to an undergraduate in the way I have done here. If students can’t or won’t do the work they fall by the wayside. As so many do.
There is no place for the lazy or stupid even at undergraduate level.

That the PhD student boorishly professes to be a SME on Vietnam and National Service here and elsewhere is a nonsense. He daily embarrasses himself by wilfully ignoring all evidence that does not fit his narrative. Inevitably he will also embarrass the Institution that accepted his candidacy.

I’ll tell you a funny story about Newton over lunch next week — who was buried as he lived, with other people’s money in his pocket and a suit he managed to steal even when dead.

I watched the series. It was excellent although they played up the Roger A rightwing shtick in typical Hollywood fashion. Lachlan was a complete dickhead in it.

I don’t know much about News, but I reckon Ailes made a ton of money for them and raised the stock price as a result. Those two dickhead sons showed little respect. Roger was also out of line touching up all the sheilas though.
Foxnews was making $450 million a quarter for those fuckers. That’s a $20 billion valuation!

    That’s him, Maxwell Newton.

Did he actually wear all that western garb around the office?

Cohenite, great clip about Newcastle and fantastic to see the Mirages bookend it. Here you go, Grand Final Eve with a great track and the drummer wearing Paul Vaner Haa’s gernsey:

Another great track, though have to say the visuals in the first 30sec are pretty suspect:

The whistleblower’s “statement” is “a primer for the media, to make sure they can cover the impending impeachment to the max. The team of Democrat attorneys wrote the script. The establishment media will now dutifully project this Oliver Stone cinematic entertainment onto their screens.”

A Carefully-Crafted Impeachment Primer For The Media

Which brings us to the second clear characteristic of the whistleblower’s tract that becomes evident immediately in reading it: that these nine pages are the obvious work of a team of Democratic Party lawyers.

Ex-CIA analyst Fred Fleitz told Fox News Thursday night that he suspects “Democratic attorneys with the House Intelligence Committee” because back on August 28, the panel’s chairman, Democrat Adam Schiff of California, had an astounding premonition of the blowing of the whistle, as he made “almost identical complaints” in a tweet. He claimed: “Trump is withholding vital military aid to Ukraine, while his personal lawyer seeks help from the Ukraine government to investigate his political opponent. It doesn’t take a stable genius to see the magnitude of this conflict. Or how destructive it is to our national security.”

This begs the question: why, if Schiff really believed “the magnitude of this conflict,” didn’t he move against Trump then? Perhaps because he knew that the audience was in for more exciting scenes from this skillfully shot action flick in just a few weeks’ time.

As Fleitz said, “this is one of the most unusual whistleblowing complaints I’ve ever seen; I’ve seen a bunch of them. Not only was it perfectly written, but it was written with long legal citations, suggesting that it was written by a team of attorneys.”
