Trump Targets Michelle Obama’s School Nutrition Guidelines on Her Birthday.

“Democrats reacted furiously.”

The children’s obesity crisis is real enough but the answer lies with responsible parenting, not Stalinist control of school menus. President Trump is systematically destroying the Obamas’ legacy and it’s beautiful to watch. This is how you do it. Salt the leftist earth. Then nuke the entire site from orbit.

Let’s recall the full horror of Michelle’s woke food edicts:

Kids Create Salt Black Markets in Cafeterias Due to Michelle Obama’s Lunch Rules (2015)

Children are creating their own black markets to trade and sell salt due to First Lady Michelle Obama’s school lunch rules.

During a hearing before the House Subcommittee on Early Childhood, Elementary, and Secondary Education, chaired by Rep. Todd Rokita (R., Ind.), a school administrator told Congress of the “unintended consequences” of the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act.

“Perhaps the most colorful example in my district is that students have been caught bringing–and even selling–salt, pepper, and sugar in school to add taste to perceived bland and tasteless cafeteria food,” said John S. Payne, the president of Blackford County School Board of Trustees in Hartford City, Indiana.

At least it did have the effect of teaching the kids capitalism.

Brung back the days you could buy sunny boys, paddle pops, meat pies and redskins* at the tuck shop I say!

*hey, how come these haven’t been virtue signalled out of existence yet? Obviously not found in Glebe bistros so below the radar.

Leftism is a political battle plan that demands control over every aspect of your daily life. Everything else is freedom.

Trump is dismantling the left’s control over people’s everyday lives. He is the only political leader in the world doing that. He is the only political leader who understands that freedom means treating people like adults, which used to be taken for granted but, in the era of political correctness, it is radically subversive.

Stalinist control by government over people’s lives is everywhere in the Australian nanny state, especially in Victoria where, for example, everyone is assumed to be a gambling addict who must be mandatorily implored like a naughty child in every advertisement to “gamble responsibly”.

Obama’s missus tried install Stalin in the school tuck shop. Trump is restoring parents’ rights over their children. He always chooses a topic that resonates with middle America and infuriates the coastal millionaire elites.

His margin of victory in 2020 may well set an electoral record. And his enemies will learn nothing,

Balwyn circa 1969 there was no tuck shop, but a meat pie or pastie for lunch with dead horse, Sunny Boy for the walk home and redskins from the corner milk bar on the walk to school. Sadly no Paddle Pop.

Is Michelle’s big butt made of KFC?

  6. egg_

Deep fried Mars Bars must be a food group, surely?

  7. classical_hero

The left are salty over this.

  8. struth

Nothing infuriates the totalitarian left more than losing control and giving people choice

Plus a packet of Fags (candy cigarettes), a Big Boss candy cigar, and some N!66er Boy liquorice. And a Donald Duck X-29 icy pole.

I find it strange that we all live in a time of plenty – yet the difference between store-bought fruit and veg vs home-grown has never been wider.

The differences in the US are even worse.

If the strawberries you are eating require sugar, to become palatable – then you probably shouldn’t be eating those strawberries.

  11. Mother Lode

Michelle had a weight problem, so everybody else had to go on a diet.

Even wine is sweetened for American taste.

Flavoured blocks of ice. Ahh, the memories of going home from primary school in the 1970’s. Glug, Razz, Sunny Boy and one or two others that escape my memory. We were all as thin as rakes because we walked to and from school and played sport until it got dark. No greenies telling us what to do.

  14. It’s hard to keep up with the progressive right side of history – anti-choice, here, pro-choice there. Which is which?

How typical of the Obamas that one of the few things they contributed turned out to be bland and tasteless. Really sums up his time in the Presidency.

From memory, M.Obama’s idea was wholly endorsed by one Jamie Oliver. You know celebrity chef who sets the records for most restaurant closures

I am reminded of the story of introducing sheep into the vast Australian environment. The story of the day was that sheep were domesticated and needed a shephard to guard over them. The sheep had no ability to protect themselves from predation therefore they would never survive in the Australian bush without thousands of shephards to watch over them. Sheep were introduced and the observation? The flock instantly reacted to any approach by…running away..like any wild sheep does..Free choice for sheep?

From what I read from people over there less than 30% of the food was being eaten and the rest thrown away. Kids were going without instead of eating what the government was serving up. With any luck gen z got a lesson on government provided services. Apparently it was worth your job to be caught with a salt and pepper shaker in the kitchen. Also wasn’t the company who got the school lunch contracts close with Moochelle and the one?

  19. Bruce of Newcastle

It’s interesting that “let them eat cake” has become “let them eat kale”.

Yep. Children today are fat because they don’t do anything. And the problem is worsened by the fact that they don’t have stay-at-home mothers policing their diets and allowing them to run free till dinner time. In short, children are fat because of feminism.

    Say goodbye to your Wookie-meal.

  23. cuckoo

Funny how even the NYT illustrates that story with a very unappealing image of a half-finished, discarded lunch box. Not even their food stylists could make Wookie nosh appealing.

Democrats reacted furiously. Representative Ayanna S. Pressley, Democrat of Massachusetts, said on Twitter that “The Occupant is trying to play petty with the food our babies eat.

A very good sign that this is a move in the right direction. Towards freedom and individual, personal responsibility.

Next step: allow the health insurers the freedom to penalise those bad lifestyle choices which lead to higher medical costs (such as obesity and smoking, for example), and thus higher claims history.

  25. ArthurB

Ayanna Pressley is a member of the Squad, so is somewhere out on the infra-red section of the political spectrum.

The Occupant is trying to play petty with the food our babies eat.

Pulverised Heinz baby food is probably more appetising than the Soylent Brown depicted in the Twitter pics.

This is like Austalia’s MSM language.

    So and so was “Slammed” [albeit from one frootloop on Twitter}

There was wide spread community “outrage” translated as…………….
    The MSMarxists did not approve.

    Etc,

If you are enraging lefties you are doing your sacred duty.
All is good with the world.

When did the “nutritionist” become a profession and why?

  29. iamok

Probably been said here before but in bookshop today I saw the front cover title –

    Becoming. Michelle Obama.

    How apt.
