Misogyny or misandry?

Julia Gillard and her acolytes want to smear Tony Abbott as a misogynist. Yet they have failed to provide a shred of evidence to support this claim. I have never seen Tony Abbott exhibiting behaviour that suggests he hates women. In my dealings with him, I have found Abbott honourable, courteous and unfailingly gentlemanly in his conduct to women. Far from hating women, it is clear that Abbott likes women and loves his wife and family. Abbott is not a misogynist – he is a philogynist.

By contrast, the extreme behaviour of Julia Gillard, Nicola Roxon, Tanya Plibersek and others suggest that they might be closet misandrists with a hatred of men.

But beyond this, the extreme Greens exhibit misanthropy – a hatred of Homo sapiens.

UPDATE:

According to Hammy, all of the men in this picture are mysogynists

Well giLiARd the crooked lawyer ,serial SLut ,constant LIAR ,and her feminazi lesbo handbag mob have run out of lies ? BOo hoo its mitarabbits fault !

  2. Nic

Fling enough mud and it will stick. He has a penis ergo he is guilty. I really hope he wheels his family out at every opportunity and ignores the calls that he’s showing up that slattern Gillard

  3. Brett

The dishonesty of the attacks on Abbott is simply breathtaking. I don’t think Gillard and the handbag mafia really hate men; they are much worse, because they don’t even do it out of misguided belief, just pure opportunism. They are a moral and ethical vacuum.

  4. A Lurker

My own personal observation of the Left/Progressives is that they tend to reflect their own failures, inadequacies, issues and head-noises onto anyone they disagree with (most of the time, Conservatives).

It’s an odd sort of observation, yet for me it seems to be proved over and over again. It’s like their own head-noises so consume and enshroud them that they see their own behaviour reflected elsewhere, even when it simply does not exist elsewhere. It’s almost as if they cannot conceive that other people might actually be rational, clearheaded and normal – and not share the neuroses of the inhabitants of irrational, emotional, Progressive-Lefty world.

No, they’re not. They’re leftists being fed lines by McTernan, a man.

  6. hammygar

Abbott does project an unfortyunate macho image, from his budgie smugglers and his deliberate projection of so-called athleticism. He lacks any sort of gravitas. He will pay for it at the next election.

Malcolm Turnbull projects a much more up-to-date, sympathetic image. As an ALP supporter, I’d be quite concerned to see Turnbull back as leader. His re-elevation would be a real threat.

  7. Brett

Stop listening to the voices Hammy; they aren’t your friends.

    Hammylogic: athletic = misogynist.

  10. Nic

Gillard does project an unfortyunate feminine image, from her skirt and her deliberate projection of so-called hair styling. She lacks any sort of gravitas. She will pay for it at the next election.

Ridiculous eh? So why say it of Abbott? Fool.

The Handbaggers don’t have enough collective brainpower to do anything unless they are told to.

  12. jupes

Abbott is not a misogynist. In fact there wouldn’t be many men on earth who have more women close to them as Abbott.

The nine closest people to Abbott are his wife, three daughters, mum, dad and three sisters.

We live in the wierdest of times when Abbott and misogynist can even be uttered in the same sentence.

I’m so manly Chuck Norris is the bitch who does my laundry. Sharks have a week of TV dedicated to me. Beer is what my horse drinks. How do I like my steak? With my other steak. Cold medicine? Oh, you mean scotch. Romantic movie? What you mean fight club.

    etc.

Whilst you may be parody the fact that masculinity scares the Government shows what a joke we’ve become.

Identity politics is all they have to hide their piss poor management and policy failures.

“The politics of failure have failed…and always twirling, twirling towards freedom” etc.

It is really that easy for Abbot. Just be a moderate and call her failure. Then he can lower taxes, brutalise criminals and rule us like a (most catholic) king.

Misogynists capture women, rape them, torture and kill them. . They don’t marry them, have three beautiful daughters, take them to church on Sunday’s, have a female deputy and manager!!!

Gillard is an obscenity, searching for outrage and superlatives to disguise her pathetic record in office.

I’m so sick of the absolute effluent spewing from the mouth of this ugly, fat, insecure, INCOMPETENT cow who will put her own ego ahead of the good of this nation!

Further, I find it incomprehensible that there is not one ALP member or independent who will resign and cause a by- election for the good of this country!

OK now I’m absolutely convinced that “Hammygar” is a leftist piss take. That was all too predictable and ridiculous.

This person who signs as Anne sounds like a woman to me, Hammy, and I should know. She says what most of us are thinking, and that many of us have already said ourselves, about this despicable female Prime Minister and her disfunctional rabble of a government. Anne, welcome to the Cat.

Yes Rob, Hammy is a troll deliberately mouthing inanities. Go ahead and call me a male pretender Hammy, and a Hairy Ape with considerable masculine clout will have a strong desire to object by meeting you outside and saying something very Irish to you. That will teach you to cast doubt on his wedded wife and his excellent choice in females.

Thinking women object to Gillard claiming to speak for them. Suck it up, troll.

  30. Megan

Hammy believes Anne is a man simply because he does not believe a woman could find fault with the Lying Slapper or use the words she did in describing her.

Anne was actually understated in her insults and totally unfair to cows.

  31. Malcolm Turnbull projects a much more up-to-date, sympathetic image.

In what way? In that he is a shade closer than Tony Abbott to the emasculate, effete metrosexual the Australian Left sees as the ideal male these days?

  32. Oh come on

Hammygar is probably one of those idiots that sits in the Q&A audience and declares himself a Liberal to balance the numbers, and thinks he’s being terribly subversive and splitting the Liberal vote by loudly proclaiming Malcolm Turnbull would be a better leader than Abbott. Gee, now where have I heard that before? Oh, that’s right, from about a million other chuckleheads who think they’re terribly clever.

And here on the Cat, he’s an exceedingly low-rent troll. Far better trolls have come before him (I actually just wrote out this comment previously, but it was moderated because I mentioned one by name.) I mean, seriously, Hammygar couldn’t wind up a car window, let alone your average Catallaxian. His attempts at provocation are boring, derivative and ineffectual. You fail, Hammygar. Massively.

  33. Boris

Turnbull seemed like a nice bloke. With some manners.

  35. Boris

Hammy works his reverse-psychology magic: “if I pretend Turnbull is a threat, these Liberal fools might bring him back, ignoring his woeful performance when he was leader – and then Julia might have a chance.”

I don’t think Hammy is as clever as this. He genuinely believes Turnbull is more threatening to Labor as a leader. I am not sure of that. Still he is a nice bloke. With manners.

  36. Oh come on

Let’s face facts. Regardless of his manners and niceness, Turnbull was a very unsuccessful Liberal leader, Boris. Whereas, to the surprise of many (including myself, I must admit), Abbott has been a wildly successful leader. He may not be particularly well-liked, but within days of assuming office, he pretty much single-handedly prompted Rudd into making a series of unforced errors and soon he found himself in a position where the elected PM’s stupid party thought it would be a good idea to throw him over for Gillard. Then the Abbott-led coalition narrowly lost an election that, going on past precedent, should have been an absolute cakewalk for the ALP – but only after forcing them into an alliance with the Greens which has proven to be so profoundly toxic that it’s not entirely unthinkable that the ALP might go the way of the UAP within a few years.

The simple fact is that Abbott deserves the leadership of the party. Turnbull doesn’t.

  37. Kookaburra

Malcolm Turnbull, for all his quality, is not the Liberal leader because his views on many issues, eg. climate change, the republic, gay marriage, etc, are too progressive. People who hold those views are more likely to vote for the Greens/Labor, than for the Coalition. That is why the Coalition trailed Labor in the polls while Turnbull was leader. Tony Abbott is a genuine conservative on social/environmental issues, which enthuses the Coalition base and gives people a reason to vote for him. He offers an alternative set of policy positions to the Greens/Labor status quo. This is the real reason (not his alleged misogyny) why the government and it’s supporters hate him so much and would prefer Malcolm Turnbull as Liberal leader.

  38. andrew

The problem with Turnbull is that he doesnt represent the conservative view. He was as far left as labor and there was no one representing me or my opinion. I imagine others felt the same way. So when Abbott stood up and said we are against the ETS i was rejuvenated.
It must feel like this in China where the government is all in agreement…..both sides lol.

  41. mags

It’s easy to play the gender card when you have been lulled into thinking you are above criticism by a compliant media. The fact that the criticism of the Prime Minister has not been because she is a woman but because she is an incompetent Prime Minister is the issue here. As an avid reader of many newspapers and blogs I have noticed the greatest condemnation of the Prime Minister as a woman has come from other women. Those of us who entered the workforce in the 60’s can tell of horrifying discrimination against female employees but the worst offenders were OTHER WOMEN.

None of the screechers against Tony Abbott ave anything to offer the nation except the fact that they were educated by the union movement to be good little socialists, do as they’re told and they will get the rewards. The hypocrisy of it all makes my blood boil. Playing the victim of male chauvinism and then labeling decent men misogynists is a cowardly attack by a woman our of her depth. Those who agree with her diatribe are those who have no courage, no stamina and no morals. She is the embodiment of everything that demeans women, not elevates them. Had all the successful women we have played the gender or victim card we wouldn’t have any successful women. They just got on with the job and proved their worth like men have to. We want equality, not patronage.

  42. Duncan

    Anne,

Ugly, fat, cow????? All irrelevant if true, and commonly used to demean women. Lets just stick to relevant descriptions, i.e. insecure and incompetent. Both make her unfit as prime minister.

CAGW also destroyed Mal as leader of the opposition. The Libs had never seen the like of it. An email / phone / collar local member mass revolt happened when our Malcolm thought Julia’s carbon scam was a good idea for comrades and associate comrades.

  44. Tintarella di Luna

I lurk here often for the robust call-it-as-you-see-it.

Anne posted at 7.51 last night a polite version of what I think of the female occupying the office of Prime Minister.

I have made an appointment with my local Federal Labor MP and will tell him exactly what I think of the PM, the Labor Party and how ashamed I am of him for voting to retain the reprehensible Speaker, the filthy-minded Peter Slipper.

Barnaby Joyce so perfectly described how the current female PM appointed the Speaker, Peter Slipper when the Liberal party were disowning him, in words to the following effect: “We were putting the smelly wheelie bin out on the street and Ms Gillard drags not to the side of the house but into the kitchen.”
And Michelle Grattan, Philip Coorey and others of the handbag-hit squad, most of the MSM and the ABC – it was a stroke of genius. that’s turned out well hasn’t it?

He is leading the LNP down a track with NO way back.
Malcolm Turnbull and his faction are trying to drag this once great party into the 21st century with his intellectual style of leadership, unlike The Abbort who has’nt got out of his 1950’s sandpit.

    Agree Mags, ‘equality not patronage’.

And now to that quality list of tough-named real guys linked by e-girl. I have made my choice. No, not number 7, Maxie boy Planck is certainly an intellectual strong man and his name comes highly recommended by e-girl. But look ladies, we are Aussies and should support the local charmer, who is nominated in part because he has withstood an Australian upbringing, which we know means he comes out fighting in spite of the sisterhood’s best efforts to tame his manhood. Number 4 it is, Stirling Mortlock, hobnailed Captain of the Wallabies. Interogate his name in a post-modern deconstruction: a stirling guy (maybe a bit mediaeval but a shining knight, metal 100% grade A), mort means death, so it’s a deathlock (real or metaphorical) applied with vigor to anything or anyone in his way or who should be unwise enough to insult you (that counts!). I’ll have that one thanks.

Come to think of it, just add a touch of Maxie Von Plankey and I do believe I’ve got a number 4 already, (the Very Hairy Irish version). 😉
