  1. Roger says:

ABC broadcasts a text headline “breaking news” that a man has been arrested but they continue interviewing an office worker who knows nothing and are now showing an empty lectern at parliament house whil eone journo interviews another.

    Brilliant coverage!

  2. egg_ says:

Breaking news Aunty – man arrested hotsages released.

  3. Token says:

“Nothing to do with Islam, blasphemy, mentally ill, lone wolf.”

    So that’s ok.

We should be able to trace this Lone Wolf as he bought the standard Lone Wolf kit.

AN Islamic State flag. Terrorises innocent people who have no weapons.

  4. Brian of Moorabbin says:

Very unhelpful of Ch9 to be showing footage of a large swarthy-skinned and breaded male, complete with arabic-lettered headband, black vest, and backpack, moving around near the front door of the cafe whilst Keysar Trad was trying to deny that this had anything to do with Islam….

Also the person in handcuffs was 200m from the cafe, further up Macquarie Street… One of the brothers got his timings mixed up and was running late?

  5. Brian of Moorabbin says:

    *bearded, not breaded…

  6. Andrew says:

Joe O’Brien on ABC24 is a jumbling mess…clearly the ABC cuts did not go far enough!

  7. egg_ says:

    Update – unrelated FFS

  8. egg_ says:

Update “Some people are being evacuated from the building”

  9. Belfry says:

    Beat-up.

  10. Brian of Moorabbin says:

    “Police entered a nearby building…wearing full black… I guess you’d call it ‘combat gear’…”

    *facepalm*

  11. Infidel Tiger says:

‘Once the dust settles, and emotions are under control, what can be done to safeguard the future? ‘

Australia has the best live export facilities in the world. Every year they send millions of beasts to the Middle East.

We have the skills and infrastsructure.

  12. Fleeced says:

“Nothing to do with Islam, blasphemy, mentally ill, lone wolf.”

The lone wolf tage was simply meant to suggest that radicals were acting on their own without a traditional top-down structure. Unfortunately, the politicians and media have used it to avoid mentioning Islam.

The “lone wolf” factor is real – but far from being comforting, what it means is that the Islamic culture is so toxic, that they will do these things on their own. Nothing to do with Islam? No, sir – lone wolf terrorism is everything to do with Islam.

  13. Nic says:

Lindt boss, 50 people inside building

  14. Tom says:

Hadley: three muzzies arrested in Parramatta.

  15. Brian of Moorabbin says:

Ch9 still reporting that Tony Abbott to give presser at 12.30pm… Current time, 12.35pm…

    Any day now, Tony…

  16. Token says:

    Beat-up.

Not for the people being held hostage.

    You really are a troll.

  17. Mr Rusty says:

FFS, now the Tweets are rolling in. All the same “thoughts and prayers” crap, esp. from the pollies.

Shit like this has happened because you HAVEN’T been thinking (or praying) for the last few decades you blind, self-deceiting, suicidal, jibbering morons.

  18. john constantine says:

We have to ask ourselves, What is tony abbotts role in this?.

  19. Nic says:

It would be interesting later to contrast Trads’ comments with reality. That’s if a tv station had the balls to do so

  20. Grant B says:

Flannery on another ABC radio station rabitting on about global warming.
Some of you here should get your priorities right.

  21. Brian of Moorabbin says:

Ch9 now claiming that someone inside the cafe has tweeted, and also contacted media outlets, asking that police be “moved back” from the cafe and to “stop inflaming the situation”…

  22. feelthebern says:

Lindt boss, 50 people inside building

    Fuckwit
Why give the terrorist(s) someone to go looking for?

  23. Motelier says:

I hope that this ends well for all of the hostages.

  24. Oh come on says:

    Beat-up.

Yes, I’m sure you have been. Several times.

  25. Roger says:

    Any day now, Tony…

Peta’s adding some product to his coiffe, such as it is.

  26. pete m says:

ftb – he was just guessing at approx. numbers.

  27. Anne says:

    “Police entered a nearby building…wearing full black… I guess you’d call it ‘combat gear’…”

    *facepalm*

Could be a dinner suit, a cocktail dress or possibly a burka.

  28. I am the Walrus, Koo Koo K'choo says:

At Martin Place now. It’s blocked off from Macquarie St west to Castlereagh St.

Crowd is moderate size. Have a clear view of the building – for those who haven’t seen it, the Lindt cafe is in the ground floor of a lovely Art Deco building which used to be a bank.

Nothing happening within my line of sight at present.

  29. Makka says:

Channel 9 saying Trad was “enlightening” in his comments.

  30. Token says:

Channel 9 saying Trad was “enlightening” in his comments.

    Trolling, trolling, trolling.

    Trolling, trolling, trolling.

Trolling, trolling, keep those doggies moving…

  31. Oh come on says:

Channel 9 saying Trad was “enlightening” in his comments.

    Sickening genuflecting.

  32. Anne says:

    Beat-up.

Yes, I’m sure you have been. Several times.

    I’ll get in that line.

  33. C.L. says:

    Betting you ANY money …

Leftist response will include question, ‘did Abbott’s terror alert inflame the situation?’

    What for it.

  34. C.L. says:

    Watch for it.

  35. A Lurker says:

People, please ignore the Bats in the Belfry troll.
    Scroll on by.

  36. Roger says:

Nothing happening within my line of sight at present.

The ABC coverage is much more entertaining.

  37. Alexis says:

Forming a large crowd next to an ongoing terrorist attack = probably a bad idea when we don’t know if there are armed accomplicies outside. Probably time to disperse?? Hope some lessons are learned by the auhorities.

  38. rickw says:

The State has been lying for years that “they can protect us”, events are making it increasingly clear that they can’t, the reality is of course that they never could.

It is also ironic that the whole lie is coming unraveled as a result of The State’s grossly incompetent management of immigration for the last 40 years.

Give us back our guns and our right to defend ourselves. The worst of society already have them, and are using them, there is no logical argument against reinstating Citizen’s right and means to self defense.

  39. Infidel Tiger says:

If the media claim it’s “not an ISIS flag” once more, I’ll behead someone.

  40. Nic says:

Funny how the media ignores the fact that this is also a holy period for Christians.

  41. outsider says:

Watching all this from delightful friendly Lhasa, in the weirdest of culture warps. It’s getting full coverage on CCTV here.

  42. James in Melbourne says:

I demand to know why Waleed Aly and the Child Senator are not in Martin Place right now, offering to go in and smother this guy with understanding – given that that’s all he needs.

  43. nilk says:

If the media claim it’s “not an ISIS flag” once more, I’ll behead someone.

Thanks, IT. I nearly snorted my pretend coffee.

  44. Nic says:

Outsider, hope it’s not too cold for you, where in Lhasa are you watching it from ? The Chinese have their own problems with Muslims . This would be of relevance to them .

  45. Pete of perth says:

Kiwi coverage – not afraid to use the word terrorist linky

  46. Brian of Moorabbin says:

Just looking at the footage on Ch9 of the male moving around inside the cafe with a hostage ‘shield’ I am struck by something…

He appears to be of middle-age (late 40s-early 50s) based on what appears to be a salt-and-pepper coloured beard…

Anyone recall what the father of the jihadist teenage girl who was killed in Syria looked like?

  47. Makka says:

Whoever is commentating (male) on Ch9 they should get him off pronto. This guy has watched too much US tv where he thinks his job is to 2nd guess the perp and predict the future.

  48. Brian of Moorabbin says:

    PM Presser on Ch9

  49. Roger says:

The State has been lying for years that “they can protect us”, events are making it increasingly clear that they can’t, the reality is of course that they never could.

    Really?

What I have heard the authorities say is they remain vigilant against terrorist conspirators – and successful prosecutions demonstrate that – but “lone wolfs” planning attacks are very difficult for the authorities to detect.

Agree on immigration being administered with little insight into the importance of cultural cohesiveness, though.

God speed the police today and protect the innocent hostages.

  50. Alexis says:

I assume they got the chocolate shop wrong. I hope Lee Rhiannon has a think about whether demonising the presumed target was helpful.

  51. Anne says:

    Abbott – “We don’t know the motivation…”

    Bloody hell!

  52. nilk says:

He’s got a white beard, Brian. Google Mohamed Karroum.

  53. outsider says:

Last full week before Xmas, imagine the impact on business, travel, tourism. Who will look at their neighbors a little differently tonight? It goes on, the economic cost, Xmas retail. Then the flow on.

  54. Pete of perth says:

    Hi beard was white

  55. jupes says:

    Abbott – “We don’t know the motivation…”

Has he told us this has nothing to do with Islam?

  56. Brian of Moorabbin says:

Just got the following note sent to me via my work phone:

Victoria Police is aware of the current hostage situation in Martin Place, Sydney and will continue to monitor the situation.

We are not aware of any specific threats made within Victoria at this point in time.

Victoria Police has notified Victoria’s critical infrastructure and mass gathering organisations of the Sydney incident.

We will continue to liaise with our interstate and federal counterparts as the incident unfolds.

  57. Mick Gold Coast QLD says:

    From Kae at 12:29 pm:

“Police urge public to remain calm.

    Gah!!”

While I’ve been having fun here I’ve been conscious someone very important to me had a front row seat for the first little while – 20 yards distant as it turns out.

We just spoke and I was pleased to hear the advice over the years to switch, when necessary, to detached and rational has worked … based on remembering “Power dwells apart in its tranquility, Remote, serene, and inaccessible” (Shelley). En route home and pleased to away from it.

  58. Chris M says:

Abbott “we don’t know what their motive is…”

They are holding up a freaking flag stating their motive. Exactly how thick are you?

Abbott “we don’t know if it is politically motivated…”

You think they could be Greens or Labor? PUP maybe?

  59. Belfry says:

Having just instituted mass warrantless surveillance and jail terms for nosy journos, Tones is banging on about how we shouldn’t change anything for the terrorists.

    Ironee.

  60. Bruce in WA says:

ABC totally misrepresents what Abbott says at presser. Wilfully, I’d say.

  61. Mick Gold Coast QLD says:

From Oh come on at 12:37 pm:

    ” Beat-up.

Yes, I’m sure you have been. Several times.”

Loves yer work Oh come on! 🙂

  62. Farmer Gez says:

Talk about armed Muslims, we have them up here every quail season with shotguns and prayer mats.
Telling them you don’t allow shooting is somewhat tricky and a test for the nerves. I shouldn’t be on edge and suspicious but you can’t help it, particularly when they are at your house at six in the morning.

  63. Peter from SA says:

Lyndal Curtis is only a few years away from being a fully fledged Frightbat I reckon.

  64. jupes says:

Agree on immigration being administered with little insight into the importance of cultural cohesiveness, though.

No you’ve got that wrong. Culture has nothing to do with successful immigration.

    Just ask Sinc or Dot.

  65. Infidel Tiger says:

    White beard eh? Bad Santa.

  66. Rebellious Todd says:

Thank God Abbott didn’t embarrass himself by saying that the “vast majority of Mohammedans are peaceful” Would have chucked my lunch if he had lied like that.

  67. feelthebern says:

    MYEFO going ahead.
The twitter crowd will love that…false flag etc.
    FMD.

  68. Mater says:

the Lindt cafe is in the ground floor of a lovely Art Deco building which used to be a bank.

A good, defendable building with limited assess points. Easier for a small group to control. I doubt they were going for the RBA or Ch7.

  69. nilk says:

Talk about armed Muslims, we have them up here every quail season with shotguns and prayer mats.
Telling them you don’t allow shooting is somewhat tricky and a test for the nerves. I shouldn’t be on edge and suspicious but you can’t help it, particularly when they are at your house at six in the morning.

    Be careful, Farmer Gez.

  70. Lysander says:

An islamic Professor from Curtin University (who is staying at a hotel in Martin Place) said on 6PR this morning that it is not the ISIS flag per se; however that it has been co-opted by ISIS in the ME.

    Whatever that doublespeak means…?

  71. Chris M says:

No you’ve got that wrong. Culture has nothing to do with successful immigration.
    Just ask Sinc or Dot.

Oh yes, open the borders! Give us moore….

  72. Bruce in WA says:

    James Brown, Lowie Institute:

    • Still don’t know if there is a terrorist element
    • It’s criminal, not terrorist, based on political motivations
    • These incidents unfortunately cause disproportionate disruption to a city
    • Too many people jumping to conclusions

  73. Infidel Tiger says:

Who is this moron male on channel 9?

  74. Mick Gold Coast QLD says:

From Infidel Tiger at 12:48 pm:

“If the media claim it’s “not an ISIS flag” once more, I’ll behead someone.”

You’re so bloody old fashioned Infidel Tiger, so not up with the trend.

It is de rigueur in December to lurch out and righteously loot the nearest Norman Ross store and trash the local liquor shop. Do try and keep up.

  75. Fred says:

Farmer Gaz,the vermin shit themselves at the sight of an aggressive dog.A couple of German Shepherds might solve your problem.

  76. rebel with cause says:

Abbott “we don’t know what their motive is…”

Oh FFS I thought Abbott was a Rhodes Scholar? Take a stab you numpty.

Political correctness has so eroded our capacity to think that we are now completely incapable of stating the bleeding obvious. What’s another lie to ourselves now?

  77. calli says:

Good, sensible interview (so far) with Ann Sanders and a terrorism expert. Group linked to Al Qaeda, trained in Syria.

  78. Fred Lenin. says:

Take islamofascist hostages the grand muppet of Australia, trad, wally ally .shoot one every 15 minutes till he surrenders, the flag by the way says ” Hameds kebabs best in Lakemba” .

  79. thefrollickingmole says:

Guardians live feed may be enough to cause IT to spontaneously jihad on the spot.
Sydney cafe under siege: what we know so far
black flag with white writing was put in the window of the cafe. It is not an Islamic State flag. The flag appears to bear the Shahada, an Islamic creed which reads: “There is no god but God, Muhammad is the messenger of God.” It can be a benign symbol and appears across the Islamic world, including on the Saudi Arabian flag. But it has also been embraced by jihadi groups such as Jabhat Al-Nusra, an al-Qaida affiliate currently fighting in Syria.

You know, I think that statement is up for debate now, that creed is about as benign as “ein volk ein reich ein fuhrer” was.

  80. Tintarella di Luna says:

A couple of German Shepherds might solve your problem.

I have two Rhodesian Ridgebacks – very effective

  81. notafan says:

Neither of the flags used by islamic state are original, both have been co-opted but it sure looks like the second most common one they use

images of flags used by Islamic State

  82. Toiling Mass says:

I suppose Abbott might be trying to distinguish between someone on a jihadi mission, someone with a grudge for whatever perceived slight he may have suffered (children turned into cannon fodder by ISIS – Australia’s fault), or even an outright loony.

It takes a lot of willpower to believe in two of those.

  83. Mick Gold Coast QLD says:

From Bruce in WA at 1:05 pm:

    “James Brown, Lowie Institute:

    • Still don’t know if there is a terrorist element
    • It’s criminal, not terrorist, based on political motivations
    • These incidents unfortunately cause disproportionate disruption to a city
    • Too many people jumping to conclusions”

Right from the jump I considered the heavy police presence to be a disproportionate response.

The City Council has parking inspectors and uniformed cigarette monitors all through Martin Place who could have unobtrusively managed this event-incident-occurence.

  84. Econocrat says:

    But what about cliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiimate change!?!

  85. Grigory M says:

ABC News Bint : “Sydney is a global city.” WTF?

Eastley now “suggesting it’s not a terrorist threat, maybe something else.” Yeah, it’s a bank robbery – only the bank moved out of the building a while ago. 😕

  86. calli says:

Still on the ‘lone wolf’ meme on 7. Infuriating after the previous interview made it clear that it’s organised.

  87. jupes says:

    An islamic Professor from Curtin University (who is staying at a hotel in Martin Place) said on 6PR this morning that it is not the ISIS flag per se;

Right. It’s just an Islamic flag.

  88. blogstrop says:

He must be saying he’s got splodey stuff in the bag and one finger on its trigger, otherwise the hostages could take him down.

  89. Leigh Lowe says:

Has this clown got confused and mistaken Lindt for Max Brenner?

  90. ChrisPer says:

I note that the terrorist event has not been linked to the Shooters Party or the million innocent gun owners in Australia , despite the last 18 years hate by Greens, Labor and Liberals against all the innocent Australians who are shooters.

  91. Roger says:

“It can be a benign symbol and appears across the Islamic world.”

You know, I think that statement is up for debate now, that creed is about as benign as “ein volk ein reich ein fuhrer” was.

    +1

There’s nothing benign about a totalitarian creed.

The black flag bearing the shahada has been carried into battle by Islamic soldiers since the 8th C. It is displayed by Muslims as a declaration of intent to wage jihad.

After this incident will we be able to get it banned in Australia, like the Swastika is in Germany?

  92. calli says:

Or he’s got some poor soul in a headlock. Bloody rodent.

  93. Empire says:

God speed the police today and protect the innocent hostages.

That will be tricky Roger. The hostages are inside and the police are outside.

Of course, if we weren’t precluded from defending ourselves, by 1030 the protagonist in this sorry little tail may well be lying in a pool of blood with no pulse.

  94. Leigh Lowe says:

Victoria Police has notified Victoria’s critical infrastructure and mass gathering organisations of the Sydney incident.

What is “mass gatherings organisations” Brian.
Is that a PC euphemism for the Riot Squad?

  95. Toiling Mass says:

otherwise the hostages could take him down.

That isn’t how they bring people up these days.

Eschew initiative. Ignore opportunity. Don’t cause trouble. Leave it all to the omniscient state – they always now best.

  96. thefrollickingmole says:

Hmmm, possibility the cafe wasnt the original target??

    Channel 7 maybe?

We have a video up on the siege reporting it began when a woman outside the Lindt cafe saw a man carrying a sports bag with what appeared to be a gun inside. She informed police who approached the man, who then entered the cafe

  97. Anne says:

An islamic Professor from Curtin University (who is staying at a hotel in Martin Place) said…

    What a coincidence!

  98. Mick Gold Coast QLD says:

    From Fred at 1:06 pm:

“Farmer Gaz,the vermin shit themselves at the sight of an aggressive dog.A couple of German Shepherds might solve your problem.”

A couple of mates’ sons who have toured Afghanistan several times over have told me just that, especially when handled by big blokes wearing skull and crossbones masks shouting naughty words loudly as they burst in after bed time. That and the dogs (literally) scare the ship out of the not so courageous lovelies.

  99. Leigh Lowe says:

God speed the police today and protect the innocent hostages.

I can only hope they are not getting political and public relations in their earpieces.

  100. Alfonso says:

Ch 7 shows pics of a stationary perp behind the glass. Easy shot
If he’s alone he should be dead. Must be two of them.

  101. Tom says:

Hadley speaking off air to a male who claims to be speaking for the hostage taker from inside the Lindt café.

  102. Nic says:

I’m surprised no enterprising channel hasn’t interviewed the locals at Lakemba. Some of their comments would be enlightening at this time I’ll bet

  103. johanna says:

There must be a space above the cafe’s ceiling for aircon, electrical wiring etc.

At a minimum, they should be able to get a probe in there so that they can hear what is going on inside.

I have a feeling that this is not going to end well for at least one person. Let’s hope it’s the right one.

  104. Peter from SA says:

And here was me thinking this was a very slow news day after the leading story on local ABC radio earlier was about the inhumanity of Adelaide City Council not giving people 10 minutes leeway on their parking fines.

  105. Anne says:

    Seriously?????

Did Lee Rhiannon publicly suggest/imply Max Brenner was/should have been the target???

  106. egg_ says:

Hmmm, possibility the cafe wasnt the original target??

    Channel 7 maybe?

Yes, or the Reserve? Bank, but Police presence altered their plans, apparently.

  107. Yohan says:

The post analysis of this by the left will conclude Abbott’s anti muslim policies and white racism has been the cause of it all.

  108. Roger says:

There must be a space above the cafe’s ceiling for aircon, electrical wiring etc.

It’s an old building, johanna, solid concrete floors no doubt with the utilities retro fitted.

Quite a challenge for the police.

  109. egg_ says:

I’m surprised no enterprising channel hasn’t interviewed the locals at Lakemba. Some of their comments would be enlightening at this time I’ll bet

    “Durka! Durka!”?

  110. H B Bear says:

Hadley speaking off air to a male who claims to be speaking for the hostage taker from inside the Lindt café.

How Sydney. How long before Graham Richardson’s name comes up?

  111. A Lurker says:

My suggestion – everyone today buys a bar of Lindt chocolate in order to give militant Islam the middle finger.

  112. Nic says:

Channel 7 already publicising Muslim fears about a backlash

  113. blogstrop says:

Hadley is in the thick of it, best keep on 2GB for now.

  114. Makka says:

Hadley claims he has been talking to a hostage who claims the perp is giving him instructions. Told to call back in 10 mins.

  115. jupes says:

Ch 7 shows pics of a stationary perp behind the glass. Easy shot
If he’s alone he should be dead. Must be two of them.

Yeah right. In an age where it is considered rude to bang your fists on the table when interrogating interviewing terrorists, they are hardly likely to shoot to kill one of them.

  116. Mick Gold Coast QLD says:

    From Tom at 1:21 pm:

“Hadley speaking off air to a male who claims to be speaking for the hostage taker from inside the Lindt café.”

This has now ramped up to a Ray Martin level.

He MUST be choppered in, as Kevin Spacey’s Lieutenant Chris Sabian in The Negotiator.

  117. will says:

Hmmm, possibility the cafe wasnt the original target??

    Channel 7 maybe?

Yes, or the Reserve? Bank, but Police presence altered their plans, apparently.

Has anyone noted that Lindt do not pay the Dhimmi tax?

  118. Tom says:

Hadley says he’s been speaking to a hostage, who is relaying instructions from the hostage-taker, who are able to listen to the radio, including 2GB. Hadley says he has spoken to NSW police commissioner Andrew Scipione. Apparently other hostages are being used to phone other media outlets. The muzzie lunatic is demanding media airtime.

  119. Peter from SA says:

The cops should broadcast a call to prayer outside the cafe and then rush the building?

  120. Infidel Tiger says:

I assume he misspoke, but the spokesman from the Leb Friendship Society just condemned the hostages and gunman for bringing Islam into disrepute.

  121. jupes says:

I’m surprised no enterprising channel hasn’t interviewed the locals at Lakemba.

They’re probably too busy organising a ‘not in our name’ protest.

  122. I’m three hours behind everyone else, so let me get this straight: it’s NOT Julie Bishop and Peta Credlin in that shop?

  123. Mick Gold Coast QLD says:

From Infidel Tiger at 1:30 pm:

“I assume he misspoke, but the spokesman from the Leb Friendship Society just condemned the hostages and gunman for bringing Islam into disrepute.”

Now you are being quite silly! 😉

  124. johanna says:

I know, Roger, but presumably all of the ground floor has a ceiling cavity – and the whole floor is much larger than the cafe. Plenty of potential access points.

    Here’s hoping, anyway.

  125. Hadley is in the thick of it, best keep on 2GB for now.

I keep thinking of that episode of Frontline … Please God, no.

  126. I am the Walrus, Koo Koo K'choo says:

Just walking down George St to my ‘office’ (the Japan Library – I am self employed) the coppers have stopped people, about 100 metres North of central, and asked them to cross to the western side of the road.

There may be a police building down this part of town.

  127. ABC News FB page is full of hundreds of comments all saying (one way or another) that this is not Islamic Terrorism.
    FMD.

  128. Brian of Moorabbin says:

What is “mass gatherings organisations” Brian.
Is that a PC euphemism for the Riot Squad?

Special Operations Group (SOG, aka ‘Sons of God’ – so named due to their motto “Blessed are the peacemakers” [for they shall be known as Sons of God])
    Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT)
    Public Order Response Team (PORT)

    etc

  129. Aussiepundit says:

Channel 7 saying it’s not an “official” ISIS flag.
As if ISIS are a constitutional republic with reps at the UN or something.
That’s like pointing to anarchist symbols at an occupy rally and saying they’re not “official” anarchist symbols.

  130. Baldrick says:

Ray Hadley saying hostage taker wants go talk to the Prime Minister live on radio

  131. egg_ says:

I’m three hours behind everyone else, so let me get this straight: it’s NOT Julie Bishop and Peta Credlin in that shop?

Just a mixed bag of nuts apparently.

  132. incoherent rambler says:

And is their dialogue between police and perps?

  148. Leigh Lowe says:

‘Channel 7 saying it’s not an “official” ISIS flag.’

    Yes.
The Swastika was a symbol used in China and by Buddhists and Huindus for centuries.
The fact that it got “co-opted” by the Nazis changed it forever.
Using that flag now has connotations and can’t be excused as “it used to be OK until the bad guys corrupted it’s meaning”.

  149. candy says:

The prime minister may have to talk to him, if this guy’s getting demented, but what a dreadful position to be put in, the lives of those people could be at risk. Let’s hope Ray Hadley has got it wrong because it sounds out of control if that is the demand.

  158. rickw says:

    Really?

What I have heard the authorities say is they remain vigilant against terrorist conspirators – and successful prosecutions demonstrate that – but “lone wolfs” planning attacks are very difficult for the authorities to detect.

Which of course means that given that the majority of crime (including terrorism) is “lone wolf”, that the Police are nothing more than a mop up crew.

    So, the fucker is dyslexic

  163. Fred says:

The MYEFO is going to be the LNP’s big media blitz to get the budget back on track, to impress the need to the public that there is a huge debt crisis e.t.c The point is for tomorrow’s paper headlines to be all about the damage Labor has done.

But instead nobody will remember and barely any journalists will write about it. It will all be lost in the wake of the jihadis. To go ahead with right now it is typical Abbott/Credlin stubbornness.
